She waited for him to protest, but realized he was engrossed in studying their son.
“He is perfect.”
She put a hand on Michael’s shoulder, the other on the baby’s chest. She was totally content. She’d already talked to Parker and Shey. They were both coming to Eliason next week to visit and meet the baby.
This last year had been an amazing change. At first, it had seemed scary, but now, she couldn’t imagine Parker without Jace, or Shey without Tanner. And in her wildest dreams, she couldn’t imagine her life without the man who was currently cradling their son.
When she said I do to Michael, she thought she’d found her happily-ever-after. But now, watching her husband cradling their son, she knew the wedding was just the start of a lifetime of happily-ever-afters.
Her heart was overflowing.
“Now, about the baby’s sister…” she started again. Laughter filled the room.
A lifetime of happily-ever-after—that’s what she’d discovered.
