Seduce Me (The Heart Series) Page 16

by Angela Estienne

When I arrived at work, I felt exhausted, I think I could do with some more caffeine, the more nightmares I had, the more tired I became. Rachel met me at the door.

  “Hi Rachel.”

“Morning Jazz, you look terrible, is everything all right?”

“Yeah, just tired, bad night,” I replied. She frowned at me.

“I think I have found the perfect holiday.” Changing the subject fast, I still wasn’t ready to share my nightmare details with her or anyone else for that matter, “I will show you over lunch.” She went away smiling. I am really happy that Rachel will be coming along, it will do her a world of good, after the Zale incident.

I went round to find Zale.

“Morning Zale.” He looked really glum.

“What’s up babe, why the long face?”

  “I had a fight with Lee last night, I . . .” He didn’t finish his sentence.

“Did you two get into an argument?”

  “Yes.”

  “Talk to him about it?”

“I don’t know, I snapped at him, the more I think about it, the more in the wrong I am.”

“Do you want to tell me about it?”

“You know about my old girlfriend Lisa?”

  “Yes.”

“Well she came around on Monday night, she kissed me on the cheek, Lee didn’t like it, I think he was jealous, I can’t blame him for that, but I snapped at him and defended Lisa.”

“All you need to do is sit down with him and talk it through. How about booking a romantic meal for both of you? Or even better cook one, set the table up with candles and that, if you explain it to him and apologise, he will understand I am sure of it.” He came in closer to me and gave me a hug.

“Thanks Jazz, you talk a lot of sense.”

“It’s cool. I talked to Rachel about Thursday, she will meet us at the restaurant.”

“I will talk to Lee tonight.”

“Now go and get on with your work, before we both get fired for not getting on.” He smiled and walked away.

It turned into a hectic morning, I had another large delivery to The Heart Tower, I had to have three trips to get them all up to the reception. There were so many parcels and it didn’t help that it had been raining all morning. The Rainbow Lunch Box also had loads, but I didn’t mind, when I delivered to the lunch box, they always had a bottle of water for me to take away. They were really friendly, not like the receptionist at The Heart Tower, the only time she was ever nice to me was when Zale was at my side. She never smiled, always seemed off with me. Even though I loved my job, I was thankful when it was lunchtime, I was still feeling slightly off it, but I needed to have some lunch.

I ordered a small salad, and got the holiday brochure out of my bag and showed Rachel the place I was thinking of.

  “Yikes it is beautiful Jazz.”

“It is all inclusive, £1,100 each for two weeks away in the sun.”

“What dates have you picked?” she asked.

“Eight weeks’ time, that is if Mr Earnest lets me have the time off work.”

“Cool, all sounds good to me.”

“I will see Mr Earnest tomorrow morning, and then I can confirm it for definite.”

I left Rachel feeling a lot happier, the salad settled, I wasn’t feeling sick anymore. I decided that I would pop into the bank on the way home, to see if I could sort something out with the money, maybe I needed a high interest account or something.

I arrived at the coffee shop with a definite spring in my step, I was getting even more excited about the holiday now. I was just hoping that Lana & Mr Earnest would let me have time off work, I know I hadn’t been working for long, so I wasn’t sure where I stood. If they said no, I could just always look for another job.

“Hi Yukari, how are you? She ran off into the back, I followed her.

“What’s up hun? Tears were streaming down her face, I reached into my handbag and grabbed a tissue for her, I put my arm around her shoulder.

“My mum has had another stroke.”

“No, I am so sorry babe, but why didn’t you ring me? I told you last time, I could have skipped lunch and come straight away.”

  “I didn’t think of it.”

“Get changed and go now, I hope your mums all right, send her my best wishes, and I hope for a speedy recovery.” As she left me I started getting my uniform on. I then cleaned up the coffee shop, ready for my shift to start. I hoped her mum would be all right. Then I got a phone call, I picked it up.

  “Miss Williams?”

  “Yes,” I answered.

“Good afternoon. I am ringing to arrange a time for your motorbike to be delivered.” Yes, yes, yes. “Would it be convenient to drop it off tomorrow afternoon at 2:00?”

“Yes that would be fine, thank you.”

“Bye Miss Williams.” I put the phone down, then it dawned on me, I was at the doctors tomorrow, I had better text Dylan and see if he could help me out.

“Hi D, are you busy tomorrow afternoon at 2? J xxx.”

All I could do now was keep my fingers crossed.

“Hi J, no I’m not busy, what do you need? D.”

  Yes, Dylan saves the day.

“My motorbike will be arriving then, can you sign for it and sort out any documents for me, J xxx.”

  “No problem, D.”

  “Thanks, J xxx.”

“J, can I have a ride on it before you get home, D.”

  “D, NO J xxx.”

“Thanks sis you’re the best, D.” I knew he couldn’t ride a bike. He was trying to wind me up again.

It appeared to be a quiet afternoon so I decided to get on with my holiday list. I got a pen and paper out of my handbag.

  Greece Holiday need to buy

  Suitcase

  Travel Insurance

  Pants

  Bras

  Skirts

  Dresses

  Tops day and night

  Shorts

  Costume/bikini

  Sandals

  Sun tan cream/after sun cream

  P jays/nighty

  Small first aid kit

  Rucksack

  Beach towels

The big order came in so I put my list to one side or it would distract me. After they had gone, I picked up my list again.

  Sarong

  Find passport

  Book train

  Shampoo

  Conditioner

I put the list to one side when Mr blue eyes came in.

“Afternoon what are you writing?” He asked.

  “My holiday list,” I replied.

  “Are you going anywhere nice?”

  “Greece in eight weeks hopefully.”

  “Very nice.”

“Now what can I get you today?”

I got him what he wanted, I wasn’t really in a mood to play any games today, but he was still turning me on. Just his presence was enough, he didn’t make any sexual remarks. He just sat down with his phone in his hand and ate his food. It felt strange that he was so quiet, but I didn’t want to start anything today.

As I was on my way home I decided to pop into the bank, I needed to put some of my money away in a different account, not sure why, in my head it sounded like a good idea. I walked into the bank and headed to the customer services desk, there was a lady stood there, so I walked up to her.

“Hi, I don’t have an appointment but I would like to talk to someone about my account please.”

“We are just about to shut Miss.”

“Can I make an appointment then please?”

“Yes, I won’t be a moment.” She started typing away at the computer.

“How about tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.?”

“Yes that would be fine, thank you.”

“Can I just take your account number please?” I reached into my bag and withdrew my purse, I read out my account number out to her.

“Please excuse me one moment.” Before I could reply she had gone. She came back a f
ew minutes later with an older gentleman, he held out his hand.

“Hello Miss Williams, I am Mr Roger Flores the bank manager, could you follow me please?”

“Yes certainly,” I said. What could this be about? I have never gone overdrawn on my account. When we got to his office, he said.

“Miss Williams, please take a seat, can I get you anything to drink?”

“No thank you, the lady was making me an appointment for tomorrow, she said you were about to close.”

“Yes, but for a special customer like yourself, we can make special arrangement.” You can be so simple sometimes Jazz, as I scolded myself.

“So you have special arrangements for people who have a little bit of money in there bank account, but anyone else you would be shut for, is that right?”

“Not exactly Miss Williams, we have a dedicate team for a client like yourself.”

“Well that just pisses me right off more than anything else, you can’t have different rules for clients just because of a few zero’s, now if you will excuse me.” I got my bag and stormed out of the bank. That was absolutely disgraceful. I think I will find another bank, hopefully it will be one where everyone is treated the same.

On the way back home, I decided I could do with a bit of shopping so I ran into the supermarket. Essentials picked up, now just to get home. I made tea and told Dylan everything that had happened at the bank, he was as pissed as I was about it. I also let him know that I had taken his advice and made an appointment at the doctors. I then grabbed a coffee and headed outback to sit by the stream with my book. I only came inside when it started going dark, I was feeling worn out so I headed straight to bed.

When I got up in the morning, I was feeling even more drained, I was hoping the doctors would be able to help me. I had a slow walk to work. I passed Rachel on the steps.

“Wish me good luck. I am off to see Mr Earnest about the holiday.”

“Good Luck.” She crossed her fingers. I walked inside and found Mr Earnest.

“Can I have a word please?”

“Yes come in Jasmine, take a seat, what can I help you with?” He asked.

“I know I haven’t been working here for very long, but I am trying to book a holiday, I wondered if I could have the 7th June–21st June off work? He opened his diary and flicked through the pages. His thumb was rubbing against his chin. I was almost holding my breath in anticipation of his response.

“I can’t see a problem with that, it will have to be unpaid though.” I felt so relieved. He opened his drawer and pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me, it was a holiday request form.

“Unpaid is no problem, thank you.”

“If you can just fill in your details and the dates please.” I did what he had asked and handed it back to him.

“Thank you.” He smiled at me. I got up and walked out of his office. I walked back to Rachel and I stuck up my two thumbs, she smiled.

“Great, I suppose it’s my turn now?”

“Good luck Rachel, I will see you at lunch time.”

I met up with her at lunch, she had got the time off work as well.

“I will book the holiday when I get back home.” She wrote me a cheque out for her share of the holiday. I asked her.

“Would it be all right if we shared a room together? Or do you want one of your own?”

“I would love to share a room with you Jazz. That would be great.” She was always so happy, I didn’t know how she remained like that all the time. Things were coming along nicely. I was now even more excited about the holiday, she asked.

“Jazz are we still off to the gym later?”

“Absolutely are you still up for it?”

“Yep, I am looking forward to it,” she replied.

I said my goodbyes and headed straight for the doctor’s office. I had to fill out a new patient questionnaire, as they had lost the one I had already filled out when I registered. I hated filling in forms, why did they always need to know so much information? It was such a long wait, even though I had an appointment. I hated sitting around surrounded by sick people coughing and spluttering.

“Miss Williams, please come this way.” Finally. I thought I would take root, sitting there for so long.

“Hi I am Dr Nightly, how may I help you?” I explained about the accident, losing my fiancé, the hospital, the amnesia and my continuing nightmares. My notes hadn’t arrived from my old doctor’s surgery yet so he didn’t want to prescribe any medications. “I think what would help is if you talked to a professional that would be the best course of action.” He made the referral and I left. Well that was a complete waste of time.

I walked home. When I arrived Dylan had already cooked dinner for us both, Spaghetti Bolognese, it went down a treat.

“So how did the doctors go?”

“Fine, he has referred me for psychiatric help to see if that will help with the nightmares. My notes from my last doctors haven’t turned up yet, so I am not sure if he believed my story, I suppose I could have just been looking for a quick high for all he knows.”

“You wanting a quick high, never.”

“I know, but he doesn’t know me from Adam.”

“I suppose, but it sounds so ridiculous.”

“I have got a cheque off Rachel for the holiday, I am going to book it now, Cat and you are sharing a room if that’s all right?”

“Yeah that’s fine.” He got his chequebook out and wrote me a cheque as well. I booted up my computer and went through the booking procedure. All done, now it was even more exciting, knowing that in eight weeks’ time, I would be on holiday. I was worse than a kid for being excited.

“I see my motorbike turned up.”

“Yeah, it looks amazing. I put it next to the garage door for you. All the paperwork is done.”

“Great I just need to get some insurance now. Did they bring all my other things when they dropped the bike off?”

“Yep, it’s all in the front room waiting for you.”

“Cool thanks Dylan.” If I hurried, I would be able to ring for my insurance before I met up with Rachel. It was absolutely plain sailing. Motorbike covered, now off to the gym. I ran upstairs and got changed, packed my gym bag and headed off to the gym.

When we arrived, we had to fill out some standardised questionnaire. Health issues, weight and height. When we had finished, a gym instructor gave us a guided tour of all the facilities. Swimming pool, sauna’s, jacuzzi, tennis and badminton courts, climbing wall. He took us around the gym equipment. He spent an hour going through all the different machines, making sure we were comfortable using them.

We headed straight off to the changing rooms to get changed. Once ready we headed off to the machines. I got on the running machine and had it set without an incline. I needed to get back into my stride after being out of it for so long. I set a slow pace to start with, then I increased it with every couple of miles that I ploughed through. Ten miles later and I was feeling better, this was what I had needed, I felt tired but buzzing. I really need a swim now, I walked over to Rachel, she was ready to hit the pool as well so we went off and got our swim suits on. I stepped into the cool pool water, I had a chill run down my spine. I started to do some lengths, eight reps later and I needed a break, we decided that a sauna session was in order before we kicked out any more lengths.

We walked into the sauna and a lovely menthol smell hit me. We sat down on the wooden slat platform. I was just sat there talking, having a laugh with Rachel, soaking up the steam when the door opened. I nearly died on the spot, in walked Mr blue eyes.

He only had his swim boxers on. My eyes travelled from his feet to his head. Perfectly toned legs, slender hips, dark sexy happy trail, dark chest hair but not too much. A beautifully tanned Mediterranean skin, perfect abs, a washboard stomach, an amazing cobra shape, masculine biceps, shoulder length dark brown hair with a very sexy kink at the bottom. He had his hair tucked behind his left ear revealing the small gold sleeper earring.
Wow, he was hotter than I had imagined him to be without his clothes on. Every inch of the man left me gasping for breath. I found myself licking my lips and swallowing the newly formed lump in my throat, I had to bite my bottom lip to stop myself from panting. If we hadn’t of been in a public place, the evening may of turned out very different.

  Luke turned to Rachel.

“Hi Rachel, nice to see you again?” She lifted her eyebrows up at him.

“Hi Luke. Very nice to see you again.” He took her hand and kissed it, he took a seat next to me. Now he was just too close for comfort, he moved his right arm around my back, his hand rested on my shoulder. He turned to look at me. I saw he had a faint trace of a smile on his perfectly sculpted face.

“What are you doing here? Are you following me?” I asked.

“I come here four times a week. You looked amazing running on the tread mill. Your ass looked peachy. I could have just had a nibble on it.” Oh shit. My sex clenched at the thought of him biting my bum. I heard Rachel giggling to herself.

“You were watching me?” I felt horrified, but at the same time, I was getting aroused. He started softly stroking my face with the pad of his left thumb. He moved his thumb over my very dry lips, I wanted so desperately to moisten my lips with my tongue and catch his thumb on route. My nipples hardened immediately, his face lit up, and I saw his eyes shoot down to my bust. He could now see exactly what he was doing to my body. I folded my arms across my bodies betrayal.

“Yes I was Jasmine, who wouldn’t want to watch you? You have a perfect form, so smooth and controlled.” I didn’t know what to do. He had totally thrown me off my game.

“So why didn’t I see you?” He placed his left hand on my knee and started moving it up to my thigh. I trembled as my growing desire rippled through my body.
