Too Long a Soldier (Kingdom Key Book 3)

“I’ve missed you a lot, babygirl,” he said almost under his breath.
“I missed you too,” she admitted, turning to look up to him.
His fingers closed in her hair and he pulled her head farther back to take from her the kiss he wanted. Fully open jaw, tongue deep into her mouth, left hand finding its way under the tank top to tightly grip a breast. She didn’t resist, couldn’t resist him any more than she could resist Jerome.
“I love this color hair on you. You must be gorgeous naked.”
She only smiled at him in the light of the lamps around the building.
His right hand worked deeper into her hair, left fingers massaging deeper into her flesh until her breath caught in a particular way that he’d intended.
“I’ll give you something good to masturbate over,” he promised. “Remember what I used to do to you? Remember what I taught you to like?”
“Yes,” she gasped, gut clenching in mild orgasm from the pain to her breast.
“Then you will hear me, Tyler. I know where you are every minute of every day. Because you are mine. Enjoy Jerome. Enjoy the fuck outta him. In the end, you will come to me and you will be mine because I own you. I have always owned you and you know it. I own your soul, and no one else can have that.”
Her stretch pants were down and he hadn’t pulled them. His middle finger invaded her just as hard and deep as a cock would have and she came a liquid orgasm that had her melting in his arms.
“Just like that, I own you, Tyler. I will have you to myself again at some point. I will spend every day between now and then thinking of the things I will do to you and the many different ways I can make you scream. Be with Jerome. Fuck Jerome. Let him take your virginity and fuck your ass. When you are done Questing, you will come to me and you will surrender yourself to me. And only me.”
Three fingers jammed harder into her, fucking her.
“Do you hear me, girl?”
“Yes,” she grunted, eyes dreamily closed as she floated in bliss with the sound of his voice and warmth of his energy. Another world almost, made of clouds and silence. “I hear you, Master Kevin.”
“Don’t ever forget it. When I send for you, you will come to me. Say it.”
“I will come to you, Master Kevin,” she said automatically, and he knew he had her in that ethereal place she’d created in her mind but not yet found on her own.
“Such a good girl. Kiss me.”
Her lips reached for his, mouths locking as his fingers slipped out and then one drove into her anus, all the way in one shot. She stiffened in a surprise jolt of orgasm and he held her all the tighter.
“One day you will understand all of this. I promise. But you have to get there on your own, babygirl,” he said, pulling his fingers out and pressing with his thumb to return the hymen he’d just ripped apart.
“I already know,” she said.
BWOOOOOOOP!
Flashing light and siren of a police car and she was gone. Standing up, he showed the officer that he was alone.
“I’m just heading home,” he said. “My bike is parked around the side. I had a meeting here tonight.”
“You in a meeting at a Catholic church?” Officer Kowalski scoffed. “Why do I find that hard to believe?”
“But it is true, Bill. You can ask Father Jim.”
“Just head out, Nails. You’re scaring the neighbors.”
Nails laughed and walked around to his bike. A long ride back to the clubhouse and he called for the most experienced pain whore and took her into the back to fuck her as long and thoroughly has he’d ever fucked a human female. In every whimper, he heard Tyler’s sweet voice. In the dark, every orifice was hers. He couldn’t get her scent out of his nostrils or her taste from his mouth. She was seared to his soul as he was seared to hers, as it needed to be.
She was the right one. He could feel it in his bones.
Three in the morning, having been up for hours thinking about it after watching her pleasure herself, he made a phone call.
“It’s her.”
“You’re absolutely certain?” Odin asked.
“Beyond certain. She’s safe where she is and totally ignorant of her full purpose,” he lied. “I left her that way.”
He’d tried to claim her but Tiberius had already done so with a strength that would be impossible to dislodge this early in the process. She would have a Widening soon and they would all finally be on their journey to immortality. Together. Might take a thousand years to complete that journey, but at last they’d begun.
Tyler couldn’t get her clothes off fast enough. She didn’t bother to turn on a light but did answer her phone.
“What?” she growled, about to burn up out of her skin.
“You were a long time,” Landra Ahr said. “Had I known, I would have stayed.”
“Goodnight,” she hung up on him, and engaged in a masturbation session that had the towel she ported underneath her soaked with cum.
When at last she stroked her clit for the final orgasm, it was so strong she nearly blacked out.
A sound sleep easily slipped into, peaceful and solid.
Chapter Eight
Julian cameto dinner.Skirt steak cooked directly on the hot rocks. Jerome thought she was nuts until he saw that the fat didn’t drip and catch fire. Macaroni salad, papaya and star fruit with chopped romaine. Tortillas, shredded cheese, sautéed peppers and onions for those who wanted fajitas. But they ate inside.
“You know the Balnaatrus are great secret keepers,” Julian opened.
“Yes. And?” She replied, placing meat onto a tortilla.
“They had already guessed Earnol was up to something. I’ve not said what and they’re not asking; but they are prepared to assist when charges come down.”
She nodded. “Good. I had a meeting with two local biker gangs. The Droghers, two hundred and twenty plus men, and the Iron Knaves, two hundred thirty plus men, are both on board. So we at least have something to draw foot soldier attention and get people outta the way. They’ll talk to their national chapters and bring more.”
“How’d you manage that?” Jerome gaped. “I hadn’t even talked to Nails yet.”
“Which is why I did. I know them both. I know which buttons to push. They do not know you have the power source Adamantine wants, however. I’ve not told them.”
“Did you go alone?” Jerome asked pointedly.
“Landra Ahr was there. We had the meeting on my turf.”
“Where?”
“Rosary Cathedral. You got a problem, discuss it with Landra Ahr. I’m busy here. What else, Julian?” she redirected.
Julian’s eyes went back and forth between her cool confidence and his hot arrogance, deciphering what was going on.
“The councilman for Sistair is, of course, solidly behind Earnol. I’m staying off his radar as much as possible.”
“Not unexpected,” she commented, cheese going onto the peppers and onions.
Roc was eating her steak with the lettuce and fruit, he noticed.
“And the Senior Ambassador from Sako Alpha approached me to ask why Earnol still refuses to help the telepaths from Earth.”
“That’s interesting,” she said, eyes heavy with meaning.
“Very. But the Sistarians don’t ask. Not even the Doyen Confederacy really has interest. They’d like to know you, though. A couple of them have asked me if there’s a new telepath on Earth.”
“But not asked Earnol?”
“Uh, no. The current Chancellor of the Doyen Confederacy does not like Earnol or the power he lords over the Congress and AASTT. He has no dealings with Earnol. They could help us when the time comes.”
Silence.
“No,” she decided. “They’re a pacifistic philosophic society; I need warriors. Are the Rosaas funding the pirates here?”
“Not in clandestine operations. They are legal privateers, not thieves, who work openly on behalf of the Rosaas and K’Tran VI.”
Tyler chewed slowly, thinking
. “So she may not even go to K’Tran. May never meet Mankell and Osan.”
“It’s already a member planet,” Julian said. “A founding planet at that.”
“That’s new. What about Drakkar? What are they doing now?”
“While there is an Ambassador on the station, they do not have, nor do they want, membership. It’s mostly an Alpha/Gamma quadrant club anyway. Too far for them to have much impact.”
“Adamantine is travelling past these planets,” Roc said. “Do they not notice his armada?”
“He’s flying invisible,” Tyler and Starbird said in unison.
“And low,” Tyler added. “Below common shipping lanes.”
“How can you tell?” Roc asked.
“I feel him. A big splotch of nothing, dense and dark and ugly and heading right for us.”
“Has he seen that scan yet?” Roc asked.
“Not yet. Closer to Halloween.”
Unhappy Silence.
After the meal, Julian took Tyler by the hand downstairs to the field next to the warehouse. She pulled on her jacket against the early September chill.
“You have more,” she said.
“Yes. I didn’t want to tell you with them present. Shestna has won his seat on the council.”
“Good for him,” she said.
“The other night he called me to ask if the Earth Ambassadors were well. He’d had this debilitating episode of grief and the woman he heard spoke Earth English. What happened?”
She stopped walking, leaned over to have a mouse climb onto her hand. She went to her knees.
“I remembered something and had a good cry,” she said softly.
“Be careful, Tyler. That kind of thing could get you caught.”
“I cannot help but grieve when I know what is to be lost all over again. The Indigenous…and Shestna. They’re marching down a path I am powerless to change. I will cry for them when I wish. No one else does.”
Her phone rang, stalling him.
“Yes, Mickey?”
“Iron Knaves just booked us for next Friday. They insist you front. Can you?”
“Yes. I’ll come to practice tomorrow.”
“See you then.”
“You still haven’t told your roomies about your singing,” Julian said.
“I won’t. I need something that is all my own and apart from the pending battle.”
“I understand. I’d like to see you perform. Can I come as your guest?”
“I’m sure I can arrange it,” she smiled, putting the mouse in the grass to run away. “Thank you for telling me about Sta.”
“Please be careful.”
“October sixth is coming up. Are you prepared for it?”
“Yes. I’ll come see you as soon as I can.” He ported away and she kept walking in the field as the sun went down.
“What’s got you occupied?” Jerome’s voice.
“Memories of former lovers.”
“Oh?”
“And the Indigenous is going to have her first Widening soon,” she said.
“You hearing her?”
“Constant for three days now but manageable. I’d almost forgotten how much it hurt. I can’t help her.”
“How do you know Nails?” he asked, getting to his point.
“Same way I know Dicer. You and I have travelled in much the same circles. It’s amazing we never came face to face. You remember when Nails learned Diane stole from his mother?”
He did. Nails was known to be hard with his women. Diane had been lucky to live.
“I proved it to him. She got those black eyes from me, not him.”
“Is that a fact?”
She nodded. “He spent the weekend thanking me.”
“Wait a sec. The jailbait he was holed up with that weekend was you?”
“Yep.”
“The one Dalton was grinning about getting a piece of?”
“Yep. My first three way. I like them,” she grinned. “But don’t trust Dalton. Not for a single second.”
“I never liked him anyway. You’ve had some dangerous lovers, little girl,” he said, taking her into his arms.
She smiled, “I learn the most from Alpha men most powerful within their own circles. I’m the boss’ woman, not a lieutenant’s. I’ve never had sex with a guy who didn’t know what to do with a woman.”
“If I took you to Iron Knaves’ clubhouse, you know the rule,” he warned.
“Of course I do. The only one I’d agree to be shared with is Kevin.”
“Kevin?”
“Nails,” she said.
“Yeah, I know that. He lets you call him by name?” Jerome asked.
“He was very important to me from the age of fifteen on. I ran from him as much as from anyone else. I coulda been very happy as his.”
“Yea, but…Tyler? I know how he is with his women. I’ve shared a few with him. I can’t imagine he took it easy on you.”
“He didn’t.”
“He didn’t?” Jerome questioned, wanting to hear more.
She smiled, and sat on the ground, patted the grass beside her. Soon as he was seated, she straddled his legs, her legs wrapped around him. Arms around his neck, she enticed him with kisses.
“You’ve squeezed pretty tight. You’re a take-charge kinda man. You are an alpha, even in a group of other alphas. Your intensity probably frightened the Indigenous as much as the Staff Power over her skin did. That Staff Power makes you much more aggressive, but you control it pretty well. I can feel that. The first time I was with Kevin, he said something and I shot off my big mouth. He squeezed my nipple, like he does to discipline any chick. I just smiled at him. He squeezed harder and I laughed. He twisted and I came. That was when he took me up to his room for the first time. He whipped my ass with his belt and I laughed at him.”
She kissed him slowly, and looked deep into his good eye. Traced the scar over his right eye.
“That must have been a terrible hurt.”
He saw her about to slip into a vision, grabbed her wrists hard to jolt her back. A blink and she remembered. Face plain with simple truth.
“I get off on pain, Jerome. I always have, but more-so now, after having spent so long with Solomon. Nails taught me a lot at a young age and his lessons served me very well. I think he, more than anyone else, helped me survive Solomon.
He hugged her tight. “You are full of surprises, little girl,” he said.
She breathed away a laugh. “I’ve heard that twice in the last twenty four hours. I very much wish I could ask you to make love to me.”
“I know you do, babe. So do I. It can wait.”
She shivered with a chill. He stood up, holding her thighs to keep her in place, and carried her back to the building. He jogged up the stairs with her. Into the apartment and up the stairs again to her room. Back pinned to her door, he wouldn’t let her down.
“Nails could never carry you that long,” he said, and ravaged her mouth with a biting kiss. “He’s a forty five year old man with declining endurance. I on the other hand, am twenty six and frozen at the peak of manhood.”
With his hard bulge grinding into her wide open, stretch pant covered crotch. Rubbing in the right place to make her feel fullness at her vaginal opening.
“Think about me when you masturbate tonight.” Another hard kiss. “Think about me in the bed I gave you. I’m less a gentle lover than I am a gentleman,” he warned. He finally set her on her feet. A smile, a kiss on the cheek. “Goodnight. Sleep well.”
He walked away, leaving her weak against the door.
“What you lookin’ at?” she heard when he rounded the corner to go down the stairs.
“Hell if I know. Never saw you maul a woman before,” Star said, coming around the corner. “You okay? That looked awfully rough.”
Tyler grinned “Heap big dog claiming property. That was only a promise of more.”
“But American women aren’t property anymore,” she added, following Tyler into her room.
“Law declares women are not property. That does not change 200,000 years of male psyche. Marriage is government sanctioned ownership under a different name. Divorce is the return desk. In man’s brain, woman is property of the man she has sex with. That is the largest part of human sexual nature.”
“What about female dominated relationships?” she asked. “Do they not exist at all?”
“Of course they do. And male on male relationships. Female on female. Humans were made with, generally speaking, a stronger male, capable of subduing his enemies and a reluctant mate. They are halves, yin and yang, and together make the whole. Man to kill food and protect, women to bear and raise his offspring.” Her pipe and glass bottle came into her hand.
“But that’s not what I keep learning on TV and reading in the paper,” Star said, sitting on the opposite corner, watching her pack the pipe.
“Of course not. Humans pretend to be oh so civilized and sophisticated. It’s not politically correct to believe male is dominant and female is submissive to him. There are always going to be women who are dominant and men who are submissive and obedient. But keep this in mind: The word obey still appears in traditional wedding vows and it’s the woman who says it. That was not often questioned as little as twenty years ago. I don’t think all of humanity has evolved past that at once in a single shot.” She fired up the pipe, passed it over.
“Do you accept male dominance?” Star asked, taking the pipe for a small hit. She liked the high, but not the harshness in her lungs.
“From my lover only, and only in privacy. All the other guys are shit outta luck. They gonna have to go find their own.”
“Why only in privacy?”
“Because such a relationship is a very private thing and I cannot appear to be weak in front of others.”
“It’s only us, Tyler. Five people in a two floor apartment.”
“For now. Six months, a year from now, there might be others. When I was living on a space station, I could not show any weakness. Spies were everywhere. I spent a great deal of time studying other cultures. Most were male dominated. Some had done away with slavery. Some had done away with woman as property. Not all had. Two of the planets I spent the most time on are very strongly male dominated.”
