  “I’m sor—”

She cut him off. “As if it wasn’t bad enough finding out you’d gone to a new guy, but to find out from that guy that my relationship was ending was no fucking picnic.”

“Wait. What?” Confusion riddled his sharp features. “I didn’t say that.”

“Ugh,” she huffed. Grabbing her glove off the floor, she walked over to Decland shoving it into his mouth. “It’s not your turn to talk.” His muffled words were useless against the material in his mouth. He struggled against the ties. His skin started to turn red as he wiggled trying to get free. Addison found the other piece of her corset and began to zip it in. “So I went to see you at your office today.”

Decland froze, his brows furrowing in confusion. Addison scoffed. “And guess who I saw all over you?”

She narrowed her eyes at him, her hand on his hips, as his eyes widened in realization. “That’s right. I saw you all over that fucking gold digger, Jenna. Who I’m dropping as a client, by the way. I don’t need you two laughing at me.”

She wanted to be in control of her emotions, but seeing him trying to fight against the bonds to get to her hurt. Why did he insist on pretending she was important to him?

“I was fine just letting this be a physical thing between you and me.” Her voice cracked with a hitch. She could no longer contain her emotions. “Why did you insist on making this be more? Why did you want a relationship with me?”

Turning away quickly, she swiped the traitor tear that had spilled over. She didn’t want or need him to see how much he’d hurt her. She turned back. “Haven’t I been through enough without you making me your next target for a relationship that won’t last?”

He started to scream against the glove in his mouth, trying to spit it out. His face turned red, and the veins in his neck bulged as he fought. At this point, he was going to hurt himself. Addison sighed. “I don’t blame you.” He froze, listening to each of her whispered words. “I knew this would happen. There is no prince charming or happy endings. This thing between you and me, it’s done. Don’t call me. Don’t try to reach me. I won’t answer.”

With a confidence she didn’t feel, she walked over to him, kissed him on the cheek then yanked the glove free, turning for the door the moment she’d grabbed the fabric. She twisted the knob opening the door slightly.

“Addison, wait!” he called. “I’m in love with you.”

She sighed, letting the door fall shut. With tears streaming down her face, she walked over to him. Cupping his face, she kissed him on the cheek with all the love and tenderness she felt. She reached up, unfastening one strap so he could free himself then walked away. Grabbing the door knob once more, she looked over her shoulder at him, watching him struggle to get his other hand free.

“You don’t know what that means.” He paused, looking up at her with stricken eyes. She stepped out, letting the door fall shut behind her. She’d left him strapped there with blue balls and a hard on for only her. As she hurried down the hall, she could hear him bellowing her name.

As she came to the end of the hall, his words were no longer muffled. Loud and clear, he screamed, “Chocolate!”

She’d taken him to the point that he could no longer handle physically or emotionally.

  Chapter 25

“I can’t believe you won’t return any of his calls,” Jeffrey huffed as he plopped down in the chair across from her.

It had been three weeks since she’d left Decland tied to a table in the sex club. Those bright red bindings ran through her mind like a signal for pain. She sighed, not looking up from her computer. “I’m not calling him back.”

“Well, you should. The man sounds terrible. I feel like the gatekeeper. At some point, I want to let that fine ass in.” He crossed his legs as he preened.

Addison let her head fall into her hands, nearly slamming it into the keyboard. “I don’t have time for this. I am trying to finish this book. You know, that one I was supposed to finish after I met Decland? It’s two weeks late.”

Jeffrey scoffed. “Oh, I know. I’ve been dealing with the daily phone calls from your agent and publisher.”

“Then just drop it. I’m not calling him. No matter how fine a piece of ass he is.” She turned back toward her keyboard, trying to pick up from where she left.

“Fine, fine. I’ll leave you to it. Oh, this came for you today.” He tossed a single letter across her desk as he rose, sashaying back toward his desk. Addison lifted the letter. As she read the return address, she felt the blood drain from her face. Any letter from the Medical Review Board couldn’t be good. Her heart leapt into her throat as her shaking hands tore into it. As she looked over the contents, she shot to her feet.

“Son of a bitch!” she screamed. “Get Decland Wallace on the phone. NOW!”

“Okay, hold your horses. I know I’m convincing, but you don’t need to yell,” Jeffrey called back.

  “Now, Jeffrey,” she snapped.

A few moments later, she heard Jeffrey’s voice. “I have Decland Wallace on line one,” he snapped back with a fake pleasant tone.

Addison took a deep breath, her stomach in knots as she picked up the line. “Decland?”

“Have I got your attention now, Peach?”
