“My turn, wench,” he said. Passion and possession flickered in the depths of his silver eyes. She had no doubt she belonged to him body and soul, but then she owned this mighty angel.

He pushed her against the rocks and lowered his head to her right breast. His wicked tongue caressed her angel-mate mark and tremors ran through her. A white light surrounded them. She gasped, and she shuddered with desire.

He lifted his dark head. “Whenever I touch, kiss, or lick you, the bond between us grows stronger.”

She ran her fingers through his hair. “Thank Zeus.”

He smiled and lowered his head. His hot lips suckled, bit and teased her nipple. She arched her back, wanting him to feast on her and held his head, running her fingers through his slick wet hair. The sensations of the water and hot lips laving her scent her into a meltdown of pure, wanton need. She ached for him—this angel who restored her relationship with her sister and her mother.

He inched his hand down her belly and past her tight curls. He inserted one finger into her feminine core. “You’re so tight.” He moved to the other begging breast and devoured her.

Heather rocked her hips as he moved his finger back and forth. When he inserted another, she cried out. Her body bursts into flames that not even the water cooled. He planted kisses down her torso. She shuddered as he knelt in front of her and pulled out his fingers. He widened her thighs and buried his face in her soft feminine curls.

Heather couldn’t think. Couldn’t breathe. The water spewed over his back, and she clutched his shoulders and leaned against the rocks to keep from collapsing from sheer pleasure. He gripped her trembling thighs, anchoring her as her building climax exploded. She shivered into a frenzy of forgetfulness.

“Scythe,” she whispered. “Please.” Cool fresh water dripped onto her lips and into her mouth.

He chuckled. He kissed her soft mound one more time before he stood. The water slipped over him, showing off every muscle, every sinew. “Wrap your legs around my waist.”

She didn’t hesitate and locked her ankles around his hips. The broad head of his shaft drove through her soft womanly folds, the friction on her already sensitive nerve endings made her cry out and she buried her head against his sleek shoulder. “I can’t stand it.”

He kissed her neck. “I’ll never let you fall.”

He moved his hips back and thrust deeper. Her muscles clamped tightly around his erection and she dug her nails into his shoulders as he embedded himself deeper. She matched his rhythm, his balls flapped against her. He slid his fingers over her cleft, rubbing until she whisked into a whirlwind of splintering orgasms. Scythe joined her in the heavenly bliss and threw his head back as he came deep inside her.

He rested his head on her shoulder. His hot breath blew on her already steamy body. Neither spoke as the water gently massaged their lathered bodies.

Heather lifted Scythe’s chin. “I love you.”

“As I do you, angel-mate. You’re mine for all time.”

She shivered at his words and kissed him. Relief and joy swept over her as she ran her hands through his black hair. “My dark angel of death.” He was hers. Forever.

He picked up the shower gel. “Let me wash you.” For the next few hours, Scythe washed her and attended her every need and desire, by the time he finished, she was a pile of sated mess, but a cat-filled-with-cream kind of smile spread across her lips. She’d get to do this for eternity.

He lifted her and carried her to the beach. He laid her down and stretched out beside her. She rubbed his arm. “I want to thank you for Rosemary.”

He took her fingers and kissed them, sending shivers through her.

She frowned. “What about Blade? I wish I could help.”

“I’ve been thinking about this. I know how you can help him.”

  She blinked. “Me? How?”

  “Paint him.”

  “What?”

“You’re an angel-mate now. Immortal. Your ability to heal will grow stronger. I believe if you paint him, you’ll help ignite his ability to repent.”

  “How do you know this?”

He smiled and rolled on top of her. “Faith. I believe in you. I believe in Blade, Raphael—even Michael.”

“Michael? But he tried to kill him.”

Scythe sighed. “Yes. And he will again. But if Blade truly repents, his soul will change. Michael will forgive him.”

“Will he get his angel powers back?”

His face clouded. “I don’t know. But I can make a good case on why he should.”

He ran his hand down her side and his thumb caressed a nipple. Heather trembled with desire.

Scythe kissed her neck. “Blade will make his own way. He always has. But you and I need to get back to angel mating.”

  Epilogue

Raphael pulled on the cuffs of his tuxedo and then stuck out his elbow. “Ready?”

Heather hooked her arm through his, but she shook all the way to her toes. Whoever thought an Archangel would escort her down the aisle?

He winked. “I promise you I won’t bite.”

  Blood rushed to her cheeks.

He cast his gaze over her. “You look lovely, Heather.”

“Thank you.” Her heart beat wildly. God, was she having a heart attack?

She glanced down at her dress—a sleek, silk sleeveless white gown tapered at the middle. A silver looped belt encircled her waist. The same simple silver chain with Christ’s Cross hung around her neck. She half smiled at the power wielding inside. Her long silver dangling earrings brushed against her neck.

One of her ballerina shoes peeked out from under her gown and the diamonds embedded on the shoes glittered from the morning sun. She would have worn plain silver pumps, but Scythe had given her these. Her dark angel could be quite persuasive. She smiled at his sinful argument. Her inner thighs were still sore.

Angelic music piped through the forest and the trees swayed to the rhythm.

Holding her arm securely, Raphael led her down the padded forest. Her mother and sister stood smiling at her, but it was the angel in front that held her attention. Scythe was sexy hot in a tuxedo. His long hair flared over his shoulders and her fingers itched to run through his silky strands. He stared at her with those magnetizing silver eyes. Her breath caught in her throat. She pinched herself twice today just to make sure it wasn’t a dream, and she really was marrying one of the dark angels.

Glancing at Rosemary wearing another gypsy outfit and barefoot, Heather smiled. She was proud that her sister loved Break the Silence, a New York bestselling book Heather had written about Rosemary’s life. Finally, their relationship had healed. Hopefully, other children like Heather would learn how secrets destroy families. Now, her sister was happy at peace.

Her mother stood next Rosemary. Here, she could pass for Heather’s twin, but Mother liked to dress. She had on a pearl white suit and pumps. Her black hair made the suit striking. Rosemary and Mother were inseparable. Both loved the pine forest and all the animals. Heather visited them at least once a month and gave into her mother’s insistence on getting married.

As she walked down the path, she was glued to the person marrying her and Scythe—none other than the Archangel Michael himself. Without Raphael by her side and Scythe waiting for her, she would have run screaming. Unlike Raphael, Michael seldom smiled and his quietness unnerved her, especially when wearing a tuxedo. He remained her of the Grim Reapers she’d seen in the Supernatural episodes. He opened up a black book and unfurled his white wings that cast a dark shadow on the altar. A white aura burned around him like an ivory fire, highlighting his dark black hair pulled into a tight ponytail. His terrifying presence took her breath away. Scythe gave her a will-you-calm-down-smile and her tension lessened.

The only person missing was Blade. Michael had been tight-lipped about him, but Raphael hinted that Blade’s angel-mate would help him repent. Those simple words eased Scythe’s troubles. She marveled at Scythe’s faith. He prayed ever
y night at the painting she had done of Blade.

In the painting, Blade smiled and had Scythe’s same silver eyes. A white aura surrounded him and his white wings fanned about behind him. Scythe said this was Blade’s true form, and he hadn’t given up on Blade’s redemption. He had flashed her a wicked smile and told her not to underestimate the power of an angel-mate. Scythe never failed to disappoint her.

At the altar, Michael gave her a tight smile. He actually was handsome, but nothing compared to Scythe’s handsomeness.

“Who gives away this woman?” Michael asked.

Her mother stepped forward. “I do.”

Heather gave her mother a nod. Raphael bowed. Scythe took her hand and squeezed. His touch doused all of her fears. She trusted him. He gave her back her sister and stood by her even when she was a raving drug crazed addict. Her love felt no bounds.

“We are gathered here to join this angel and his woman into Holy Matrimony. Let nothing in Heaven nor in Hell break this sacred union for eternity.”

Heather’s heart beat hard in her chest.

“Scythe, do you claim this woman as your angel-mate?”

“I do, Michael.” Possession flickered in his eyes and he gave her a sinful smile.

Heat flooded her cheeks as she recalled just how he had claimed her.

Michael glowered. As he faced Heather, his frown disappeared. “Heather, do you take Scythe to be your lawful wedded angel-mate?”

Heather cupped Scythe’s stubble cheek. “I promise body and soul to be his now and forever.”

“At the powers vested in me, by the one True Authority, you may kiss the bride,” Michael said.

“Finally.” Scythe grabbed her shoulders and crushed her against him. His lips covered hers and his tongue pushed open her mouth. Like the angel, his determined kiss was possessive and left her senses reeling. She clung to her dark angel and melted into his protective arms. Married to an angel? Who would have guessed?

This was such a fun book for me to write. I remember thinking what would people do if an angel of death gave him an ultimatum. Would they stop? What would you do?
