  Chapter Seven

Craig yelled out from the intense pain of being penetrated like that. Edward moved so fast that he was all the way inside of him, balls deep, before Craig even had the chance to take in a breath.

The interesting thing was how the pain just melted away into something completely different. Within seconds it was gone, and only the pleasure was left behind.

He hadn’t felt anything like it, and he hadn’t thought his first time having sex would feel this good.

“Holy God,” he moaned, and he tightened his knees around Edward’s hips. “That’s really fucking nice.”

“Glad you approve,” Edward replied, and it sounded like he was speaking through his teeth.

When the man raised his head to look at him, Craig was struck by how almost all the green in his eyes was being covered up by the black of his pupils.

“I’ve waited so long for this,” he said.

Craig still wasn’t sure what the man was talking about, but something inside of him, on a more spiritual level, called out to the man and agreed with him.

For the first time, Craig felt like he’d been waiting a long time for this as well.

Edward kissed him. All of his kisses were loving and deep and familiar. Craig was able to kiss the man back and really sink into his touch, to enjoy him, like he’d done this before and knew exactly what to expect from Edward’s mouth and tongue.

It was like that, but each kiss was also as exciting as the first kisses from a lover tended to be. They were new, in a way. But that made absolutely no sense. Nothing could be new and familiar at the same time, but somehow Edward pulled it off.

Edward didn’t move for several seconds. He was just lying on top of Craig, inside of him, and they were kissing like two teenagers making out on top of the bedsheets.

It was incredibly intimate, and it felt just as good as when Craig had first been penetrated.

Then Edward did pull back. Craig could feel every inch of the man’s thick cock sliding back. His inner walls were being stretched like never before, and it would have been impossible to not feel it all. Back and back he went, until only the swollen head of Edward’s dick was still inside of him.

“Don’t pull out. I don’t want you to pull out,” Craig said, his words and voice desperate as he spoke against his lover’s mouth.

“I won’t,” Edward said, and he gently bit down on Craig’s lower lip, releasing a playful growl before his cock pushed back inside of Craig’s hole.

Craig moaned as he realized what the man was doing. He was just going to make Craig beg for it, was all. He pulled his dick back and then gently pushed it forward again, barely touching Craig’s prostate before he pulled away once more.

The worst part, and best part, was how he kept his hand curled around the base of Craig’s cock, all the time never moving his hand and never allowing Craig to come like he wanted to.

The pleasure built up like a rising tide that had nowhere to go, so it kept on crashing against a stone cliff. It felt amazing, as good as if Edward was fucking him hard and into the mattress, leaving him raw.

Craig moaned and bucked with each push and pull of Edward’s hips. He couldn’t contain himself. He didn’t want to stop, but he wanted it to end.

“Please, for the love of God, you’re such a tease.”

“A man’s first time should always be his best,” Edward said.

Another something that came from the man’s mouth and sounded so incredibly familiar. Then the pleasure started rising again, and Craig forgot all about it.

“Let go of my cock,” he said. “Fuck me hard, until I come, I want you to do it and don’t stop, ever.”

“You like my fat prick inside of you?” Edward asked, but Craig doubted that it was meant to be a question.

“Y–yeah,” he said, gasping the word.

He never thought he’d enjoy sex this much. He always thought he would just count himself lucky if he could find a lover that he could remotely enjoy being with, nevermind having mind-blowingly great sex like this, considering what he knew about being penetrated. Christ, Craig couldn’t even bring himself off this well, and Edward was doing it like they’d been lovers for years, like he knew every inch of Craig’s body.

Knew how to thrust into him, knew where to put his hands, where to touch, where to lick, everything.

Craig bucked as his balls became painfully tight, and his dick swelled and jumped in Edward’s hand. A spurt of pre-cum shot out from the slit at the head, but that was all. It wasn’t the orgasm he was aching for, and now he was starting to feel like he was in pain.

“Edward! Please, I need it! No more, please!”

He thought he was going to have do a little more begging than that, so it came as a shock when Edward released his tight grip on Craig’s cock, braced his hands on either side of Craig’s head, and then just started to pound away, like it was going to be their last time together.

Craig was already coming, and he moaned and thrust back against the impossibly fast surging and retracting of Edward’s cock. He was trying to milk it all out of himself, and his pleasure seemed to go on forever.

He wasn’t right of mind at the time, so it wasn’t like he could count the seconds, but it had to have been at least a twenty second orgasm.

He wondered if that was a world record later on when the shocks and spasms finally came to a stop.

Then Edward was kissing him. The man’s cock was still inside of him, but he was soft, and neither of them was moving their bodies. Just their mouths as they kissed like they were real lovers, and this wasn’t just some fling that Craig was having because he was so incredibly horny around the other man.

All the while, the sense of déjà vu was overpowering. He couldn’t make himself stop feeling like he’d done this before, with this man, or at least, a man who looked, smelled, felt, and tasted the exact same as Edward did.

He had done this before. Just as Edward was able to show him, through touch alone, that he was some kind of human freak who was able to carry an infant inside of him, somehow, the man was also showing him something else, how they were connected.

It was like watching a movie in super speed. He saw himself, wearing clothes that looked more like dirty rags and animal skins, but happy enough if all the smiling was anything to go by, and he saw himself with Edward.

The green wolf, glowing like it was on fire, was back several times in the visions that he was having. It was wintertime, and they looked happy enough. Craig watched as Edward made things grow even when the snow was falling so that they could both have something to eat, and he also took note of the way his other self constantly seemed to be touching his belly.

The belly got to be bigger as the visions flashed in front of his mind, and once again, Craig knew what it was thanks to what Edward had done. Neither of them was human, and that was why Craig didn’t see any other people in these visions, until he did.

Edward was nowhere in sight, but even before the blood and fighting started, a black hole of dread formed in Craig’s stomach at the sight of several hooded figures approaching him.

His other self saw them, their weapons, and in some cases even their claws, and he ran.

He didn’t make it far before an arrow lodged itself into his back, and Craig winced and felt the sharp pain of it even though he was watching this happen to someone else. Himself in another life.

Humans and shifters working together. He didn’t know how that was possible, and Craig wanted to yell out to the other man, to hurry and get up and run when he was struggling as another arrow flew and imbedded itself into his leg, which stopped that from happening.

Craig didn’t want to watch but he couldn’t look away. Everything happened so quickly, even though he was already seeing this as though someone had hit the fast-forward button.

He still knew what was happening, and his heart slammed in his chest as though it was happening to him all over again, as though he was the one who had all those people f
all upon him and tear him to pieces with their knives and claws.

His palms were sweating as he watched, thinking that any second Edward was going to arrive on the scene and save him, but he never came.

Someone who looked a lot like him did, however. Instead of black hair, however, this man had long red hair, so long that it went almost all the way down to his waist. His eyes were also a reddish brown color, like a brick. The man watched with almost no emotion on his face as the hoard of men continued to slam their weapons down onto Craig’s body long after he was dead.

Craig felt like he couldn’t breathe. He didn’t want to be here anymore and he didn’t want to see this but he couldn’t look away from the gore of his body as it was pulled apart, red blood bright on the white snow.

  “Craig! Craig!”

  Edward’s voice.

Craig thought that the man was finally coming to save him from this nightmare, but he didn’t appear in the hallucination he was having.

Instead, Craig felt his body start to shake, and even though he already thought his eyes were wide open and he was seeing everything clearly, he snapped them open just to see Edward’s worried face above him.

The man was staring down at him like he thought Craig was dying or something, and when Craig opened his eyes, the other man sighed and leaned down to wrap his arms around Craig’s shoulders in a crushing hug.

“Bloody fucking hell,” he said. “I thought you were dying on me.”

  “What happened?” Craig asked.

His body felt weak, there was sweat practically dripping from him, and even though he didn’t want to go back into that nightmare, he could barely keep his eyes open.

Edward pressed his lips to Craig’s forehead. “You were shaking like death himself was grabbing on to you. I thought you were dying.”

Craig felt like death all right. He looked out the windows and realized that it was darker now than it had been when he and Edward first had sex. Edward was no longer inside of him, and his skin felt clean.

He must’ve passed out after orgasm and fallen into that horrible dream. Edward probably cleaned him off before he noticed something was wrong and tried to wake him.

“I dreamed…I was dying,” Craig admitted, and it wasn’t exactly hard for him to notice the way that Edward’s body went completely still as he held on to him. The man’s heart even seemed to skip a beat, though Craig wasn’t exactly sure how he could hear the man’s heart so well. His ear was up against the man’s chest, yes, but he could hear it as plainly as though he was listening to it through a stethoscope.

“They were tearing me apart. So many of them.” Craig’s heart got to pounding incredibly fast. He wanted to cry because he’d hated what he’d seen, and had even felt some of it, but the worst part of all was the helplessness that had gone through him.

He wasn’t about to cry, though. It was one thing to be pregnant, but he wasn’t about to start crying for anything.

It really hurt his throat to keep all that back, however.

The only thing he really knew for certain was that he wanted to hold on to Edward. So he did. He clutched at the man’s shoulders, never wanting Edward to let him go.

  “What’s going on?” he asked.

  Chapter Eight

Edward wasn’t going to be able to lie to the man. He had to tell him everything, so he did.

Craig held on to him tightly, silent the entire time that Edward told the story to the best of his memory.

It was difficult, speaking of memories that were so hazy now from his time spent asleep. Sometimes Edward didn’t know what were the real happy memories, and what were dreams.

Then he had to explain that it was his brother's curse that caused those men to attack Craig, who’d ripped him apart because Alistair's mate had been murdered, and in his grief, he'd somehow, without thinking, created a curse that caused the deaths of thousands of luna werewolves. Humans and other shifters alike were in on the hunt, and Craig had been murdered before Edward even knew there was a curse, and that his brother was at fault.

He’d explained about his grief when he came upon what was left of his mate and unborn child, how he and his brother very nearly destroyed each other because all Edward wanted was his own revenge. He also explained how he eventually allowed himself to be swayed to Alistair’s cause, and Edward and his three other brothers went off to try and stop more bloodshed before it could occur.

They were almost always too late.

That was the worst part. Explaining how he had failed, not only once with Craig and their pup, but many other times after that.

“Why did Alistair want to kill me? I wasn't the one who killed his mate,” Craig asked. “Not that I believe the story about being reincarnated or anything.”

Edward smiled at him. Craig always had been more interested in facts than simple tales. The only reason why he was even considering that this story might be true was likely because of the dream he’d had.

“He did not want you specifically dead. He did not know that my mate was a luna werewolf. He knew I had a mate, but we did not live together and he had never even met you. You just happened to be a target of the curse.”

“But why kill all luna werewolves? Why not just the ones who hurt his lover?”

“I do not believe he wanted all luna werewolves dead," Edward explained. "I believe that, in his grief over his mate Aland, Alistair wished for revenge. I believe he wished for it and wanted it so badly that somehow his wish was granted, either through his own power, or that of someone else. After that, humans and other shifters everywhere took up arms against the luna werewolves. Rivers ran red with blood for months after."

  "That's...incredibly sad," Craig said.

Only he could think of another's pain after having a vision of his own murder. "It wasn't just any luna werewolf that killed his mate, either. It was an alpha luna did it. You do not know these things, but their alphas are different from regular alphas, just as I and my brothers are different from every other shifter in the world.”

  “Because you glow?” Craig asked.

Edward smiled, and he thought about the abilities he’d used to rescue Craig from those hunters. “Among other things. Alpha luna werewolves are incredibly powerful. They’re said to be descended of the many lovers of the moon Goddess.”

Craig frowned at that. “She had more than one?”

“All the Gods were promiscuous,” Edward explained. “But Luna showed great affection to the wolves that worshipped her. Some hated her, because of what the full moon did to them, so she rewarded the ones who were faithful to her. The alphas can transform into powerful creatures that look like wolves, but stand up like men. In my time I’ve seen them charge through forests and take down whole trees in their paths.”

“And why is it that I’m pregnant when I’ve never had sex before?” Craig asked.

Edward still didn’t have an answer to that, so he kept explaining the mythology. “Luna was a jealous woman. She didn’t want the luna werewolves she rewarded to find other lovers, so when she rewarded them, she also cursed them. They cannot impregnate another woman. She did not mind if they took comfort among themselves, however, so while the alphas were rewarded with immense strength and power, the omegas were given the ability to bear children, and to keep them together, only an alpha could help an omega give birth by cutting the pup from the stomach.”

“That doesn’t sound like much of a reward.”

Edward laughed. “I imagine the first luna omega werewolves didn’t think much of it either, but it seemed to be normal by the time I came into existence.”

“Where did you come from?” Craig asked.

Edward thought about that, and he couldn’t come up with an answer as those parts of his memories were closed off. “I do not know. I don’t recall a childhood. Supposedly my brothers and I were all born from the forests. There were others, of course. Hawk shifters with the ability to control lightning and wind, bear shifters who could summon any fish in
to its awaiting jaws from the riverbanks. We were considered spirits of the forest, even Gods by some tribes, though I doubt that was what we were.”

“Well, okay,” Craig said, sounding like he wasn’t at all happy about that answer. “But if you’re from the past, like really far into the past if you’ve never heard of Jesus, why don’t you have more of an accent?”

Edward didn’t understand that at all.

It must have shown on his face because Craig elaborated.

“I mean, some of the things you say, and the way you talk is different, and I guess there’s something of an accent there that I can’t place, but you don’t exactly sound like you’re from the medieval times.”

Edward smiled at him. “Och, would ye prefer it if I spoke to ye like this, lad?”

Craig frowned at him. “That sounds like Scottish, but still not quite. I like it, though,” he said quickly.

Edward laughed, and then he shrugged. “Honestly, I couldn’t tell you exactly how we spoke back then, or what words we used. I think that while we were sleeping, my brothers and I were still listening. The first time any of us heard anyone speak, while awake, it was when we were rescuing an omega luna werewolf. He spoke, and we learned from that, and we remembered everything we heard while we slept. We speak in…mostly the same accent as those people, but some of our old language still must seep through if you notice a difference. Other words and phrases we are still becoming used to as we hear them.”

Craig nodded. “I think I get it, but that’s still a lot to take in.”

Edward nodded. “I understand. I also understand if you’re not feeling very well about having me around you.”

Craig looked up at him sharply. “You would leave?” he asked, and he sounded rather horrified at the idea.

Edward couldn’t hide the fact that something like that pleased him. “No. The last time I left you alone, you and our pup died. I’ll not be doing something like that again.”
