“You’re looking a little lonely there baby,” she said sultrily to the man sitting there. “Would you care for some company?”

He looked up at her surprised. “Um, sure, yes, um, yes, please sit down.” He stumbled over his words and was truly shocked that Amber asked to sit down next to him.

Amber sat down slowly so that the man got a great shot of her boobs. “You look like you need another drink there baby,” she said to him purring.

“Well, I wasn’t going to get another one, but I think I will if you’ll join me,” he told her.

“I was hoping that you would stay with me. A girl gets lonely drinking alone.” Amber looked him over. “My name is Amber. So tell me, what is a guy like you doing here alone?”

“Hi Amber, my name is Ted. Well, I was at the International Builder’s Convention and I’m just exhausted from showing my invention all day. Thought I would unwind by listening to music and having a drink.”

“Oooh,” she cooed. “An inventor. What is it you have invented baby?”

“It isn’t very exciting,” he started. “It’s a new type of gutter system that’s self cleaning. It’ll keep all sorts of leaves, grass, and other debris out of your way and keep the water from damaging your plants and eaves and … ” He trailed off. “Sorry, I told you that it wasn’t very exciting. I just tend to get carried away.”

“No baby, I find it fascinating,” she assured him, thinking that this was the most boring thing she had heard in a week. She slid her hand slowly up his leg and could feel his muscles react under her hand. “Tell me more about how you invented it.”

Ted began to talk about how he had gotten the inspiration for his invention from having to clean out his gutters and he was telling her the story about how he had almost fallen and gotten the idea. She listened to him, cooing in the right places and seemed to hang on to his every word. In reality, she had no idea what he was saying. She didn’t even care what he was saying. She was simply plotting her next move.

“You think you could get us another round and tell me some more?” she asked after a while. “I am going to go into the little girls’ room and powder my nose real quick.”

“Ok, I will be right here. This is turning out to be a much more exciting evening than I ever thought,” he told her.

Amber languidly got out of the chair and sashayed her hips all the way into the bathroom. She looked over her shoulder at one point in time to smile at him and wink. Once she got into the bathroom, she looked in the mirror and reapplied some more lipstick. She had Ted right where she wanted him; eating out of her palm. She took the little package of powder out of her purse and hid it in her hand.

She readjusted her cleavage and went back out to the table where he sat waiting for her. He smiled a big huge smile at her as she sank back down into her chair. They all smiled at her like that and she loved the way they worshipped her. She smiled back at him under her lashes coyly.

“So Ted, tell me more about how someone gets their invention working,” she prompted him to start talking some more. And just like a man, he started talking again about himself.

Ted went into the details about the trial and error he had gone through to make his invention work. He kept talking on and on, and didn’t notice the small white powder that Amber poured into his drink. Amber asked him questions to keep him preoccupied and he took drinks between breather breaks. Finally, he looked at her, “I am sure that I am boring the hell out of you.”

She smiled at him, “No not at all. But maybe we could go someplace a little more quiet.”

He looked shocked. “You want to go with me, I mean, sure, would you like to come back to my hotel room? I am sorry that I am so talkative. I normally don’t drink this much. As a matter of fact, I rarely drink at all.”

Amber placed her finger on his mouth to silence him. “Shh, baby, let’s go.”

They went out of the bar and down the street to the hotel where he was staying. To keep him from talking, Amber kissed him on the mouth in the elevator. She could easily feel him getting aroused as he eagerly kissed her back. He held her hand as they walked down the hall. She could tell that the alcohol had entered his system since he was tripping just a little bit.

They arrived at the door and he fumbled with the key and dropped it. She bent down to pick it up and his hands rubbed over her bottom. She slid the key in and opened the door. He quickly was all over her again, kissing and fondling. She let him have his way for a bit, knowing that soon, she would have total control.

After a while, she backed up from him just a bit, despite his protests. But he stood there without complaint as she unzipped his pants and slid them down. She knelt down and took his manhood deep in her mouth. He moaned in pleasure. Most guys reveled in the blowjob. It seemed as if they never got one anywhere else. She could feel him getting harder as her mouth did its magic.

Finally, she stood up and pushed him back on the bed. Not bothering to take her own skirt off, she slid her thong to the side and her body down onto his shaft. She could see that Ted was in absolute heaven, his eyes rolling into his head with pleasure. She rocked up and down on him and it didn’t take him long to succumb to her and he orgasmed loudly. Within seconds, he was fast asleep.

Amber stood up and looked at the man in front of her. She wasn’t sure which part of him she wanted to take. But since she didn’t need to decide just yet, she just let her mind drift to other things. She went through his belongings, taking what was there of value. He didn’t have much. Just some cash, his watch, and a pair of cuff links. Either he wasn’t married, or didn’t care, because he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.

Thinking about it some more, Amber got undressed standing in the middle of the room in all her naked splendor. She surveyed the man in front of her again. Nothing about him stood out to her. He was a nice guy, but that was about it. A bit over talkative, but like all men, he was just interested in making himself sound good.

Taking her knife out, Amber thought about it some more. She paced for a few taking the knife and running it in the middle of her breasts, blade side out. The cold steel made her shiver in anticipation. Sometimes she wondered what it would feel like pressing the blade a little rougher against her smooth flesh, sharp side facing inward. Perhaps just hard enough for a small line of blood to trickle out. The idea of it turned her on even more, but she knew there was no way she could ever bring herself to damage such a perfect body. Finally, she knew what she was going to do. She pushed his shirt up and straddled him as she prepared to take what was hers.

Gently at first, Amber began to slice through the skin. Knowing it was never going to make it through the muscle if she was so timid, she began to stab harshly, ripping her way through the abdomen. Flesh, muscles, ligaments and tendons were being mutilated in her frenzy. Finally she saw the body part she was after and used her hands to separate the liver from the rest of the organs.

Pulling it out, blood spewed from the dead man all over the bed and onto Amber. She held the liver up as if inspecting it. She had never held on to a liver before and it was slippery. It was still warm from being inside his body. She held it close to her own body, wiping the warm blood onto her. Using the man’s organ, she caressed herself, greedily rubbing his blood all over her skin.

The total control of the situation was arousing to Amber. She felt so alive, so in power. She lay the liver down on a towel as she continued to rub the victim’s blood on her body. The excitement of it all took the best of her and her hand found its way down to the space between her legs. Amber orgasmed as she sat straddling her victim, his blood bubbling out of his abdomen and flowing all over the bed.

Detective David Balducci got the call at 5:30 in the morning.

“Son of a bitch,” he said out loud to no one in particular. “Can’t crime be committed during normal hours?”

He answered his phone with a bark, “Balducci.” It was dispatch.

“Sir, there has been another murder at the R
amada,” she stated. “They called for you ASAP.”

“I’m on my way,” he said wearily into the phone.

He got himself out of bed and quickly got dressed. He gave himself the once over in the mirror and brushed his teeth. Deciding that he should probably brush his hair, he picked up the brush and ran it through. But as for shaving, screw it. He would sport the rugged look all day.

Traffic was light at this time of morning, the rush hour just beginning to start and he made his way over to the Ramada Hotel. He could see the police cars and ambulances already there and he added his own car to the melee. Going in he flashed his badge at the patrolman in front of the elevator.

“They’re on floor six, sir,” the duty officer told him.

“Thanks,” David said, wishing desperately that he had a cup of coffee in his system. Again, his hand twitched for a cigarette, but he was not going to go back to that habit, no matter how appealing it sounded at certain times.

The door to the elevator opened on floor six and David saw another patrolman in front of one of the doorways. Yellow police tape was strung across the doorway. David flashed his badge again.

“They’ve been expecting you,” the young officer told David.

“Great,” David grumbled as he stepped through the plastic yellow line. Joe was standing there watching the medical examiner take pictures of the scene.

The room was a mess. Layers of blood soaked into the carpet, spattered against the drywall, staining the sheets. David eyed the gruesome aftermath queasily. “Jesus,” he said, looking over at his partner. “You go a little overboard with that dildo of yours?”

“Yeah,” Joe answered back deadpan. “He didn’t like it as much as you did.” He made a mark in the air, “That’s one!”

David punched him in the arm. Then he turned to look at the gruesome scene in front of him. A middle age man lay on the bed, blood everywhere. Suddenly David was glad that he didn’t have a cup of coffee. The victim’s pants were down around his ankles and his shirt had been pushed up. What was left of the man’s abdomen was either piled on his chest or lay on the bed beside him. Funny enough, there was a line about hip level where the blood ended. The perp must have been sitting on him, cementing the idea that the killer was a woman.

David went up to the first cop that had been called to the scene. “What’s the vic’s name?”

“Ted Paulson,” the young detective said.

  “Who found him?”

“He was a part of the International Builder’s Convention across the street. Apparently he had been peddling some sort of new invention. But when he didn’t come to set up this morning, they came looking for him.”

“At five in the morning?” David questioned.

“Yeah,” the young cop answered. “They were supposed to be there at four thirty to set up if you can believe it.”

David stood in thought for a minute. “Did you look through his belongings?”

“Yeah, not much here. The cash out of his wallet is all gone and there is no sign of a watch. But there is nothing else of value in this room, so either there never was, or the killer took it with them.”

“Have you tried to contact his family?”

“The man had no family,” the young cop told David. “His parents are both deceased and he was divorced three years ago. We haven’t yet contacted the ex-wife. It’s too early for that”

“Thanks,” David told him as he made his way over to the medical examiner. “Hey Padre, found anything interesting?”

“Hey David,” the medical examiner answered back. “Nothing much yet, just a lot of blood. I have several samples to see if it’s all the victim’s blood or if we have any from the perp.”

David wasn’t sure why everyone called the medical examiner Padre. He wasn’t Hispanic, or even old, but no one ever called him Doc. It was always Padre. He was a typical scientific looking nerd, but David and him got along just fine.

  “Female perp?” David asked.

“Looks like this is vaginal residue on his penis. I have taken a sample to have it analyzed.”

“What’s missing this time?” David asked.

“Liver,” the ME answered, pausing to take another picture. “Killer is starting to get confident or clumsy. Look here,” he pointed at the bed.

David looked and sure enough, there were bloody fingerprints on the sheets. “Hot damn,” he breathed. He turned to look at Joe, “Hey Patrano, come check this out.”

Joe ambled over, “This better be good, you know how I feel about this much blood.”

  “Makes you queasy?” David asked.

“No, you dumb fuck. It makes me hot and horny. Of course it makes me queasy. Why do you think I’m the paperwork side of this partnership?”

“I thought yellow notebook paper made you hot and horny,” David cantered back.

“Yeah, well you got me there. Now what is it you want me to see?”

David showed Joe where the fingerprints were on the bed. The two men looked at each other and Joe formed a big grin on his face, “Bingo,” he said triumphantly.

David turned to the young detective. “Can you fetch me some gloves and a big evidence bag please?”

After the sheet had been bagged and tagged, there was nothing left for David and Joe to do in that room so they went downstairs to interview the night clerk.

Jason Culdasac, night clerk for the Ramada was sitting at the front desk with his face in his hands. David walked up to the young man, “Is there someplace we can go to talk to you for a while?”

The pimply-faced kid looked up at David and gulped, “Yes sir. I’ll let you in the manager’s office and we can talk there.”

David and Joe went over to the door to be buzzed in. They walked into the office of the hotel manager and sat down with the night clerk.

“We’re just going to ask you a few questions, and we want you to respond as honestly as you can, ok?” David told him.

  “Yes sir,” was the response.

“What’s your name, son?” David asked.

“Jason Culdasac,” he managed to stammer out.

“Relax Jason, we’re not going to bite you. How long have you been the night clerk here?”

“About six months now,” Jason answered. “I started working here right after I turned 22.”

“Jason, I want you to think about last night,” David said. “I need you to remember anything and everything, even if it seems unimportant. Do you remember seeing Mr. Paulson come in last night with anyone?”

Jason turned a bright shade of red, “Um, no. I don’t remember him even coming in.”

David looked at the kid incredulously. The lobby of the hotel was not that big and anyone entering would have to go right past the front desk. “You don’t remember?”

“No sir, I don’t remember.” Jason said.

“Jason,” David said, taking a deep breath. “Do you understand that a murder has been committed and that any information you can give us might be helpful? So think real hard. If they came in here, you would have to have seen them.”

Jason hung his head. “You promise not to tell my boss anything?”

“What you say stays between us,” David assured him.

“Well, it’s pretty quiet here at nights,” the young kid started. “Normally, nothing goes on; I am lucky to get two phone calls the entire shift. So, um, well, you promise not to tell anyone?”

“We promise,” David said, pretending to cross his heart.

“Ok.” Jason took another deep breath. “You know that website, rumprage.com?”

“Isn’t that some sort of chatroom?” Joe asked. He seemed very interested in the conversation.

David looked over at Joe and wondered how he had known that. He tried not to laugh as he thought of the reasons.

“Yeah,” said the kid. “I like to get dressed up and log on there at night. I normally am back here and don’t see anything that’s happening in the lobby.”

  “Dressed up?” David a
sked. “What kind of dressed up?”

“Well, I have a big following,” Jason explained. “And I can answer them all more honestly when I feel pretty.”

David and Joe looked at one another. They had heard some weird shit before, but this was getting stranger and stranger by the minute. “Please continue,” David told Jason. He was already beginning to wonder how exactly he would go about filling out the paperwork with this.

“I dunno what more you want from me,” Jason whined, hanging his head. “Just please don’t tell my boss that I dress up as a woman to chat with men online.”

David was still too tired to laugh, but he knew that under normal circumstances, he would have a hard time trying not to be hysterical. “We won’t tell him, Jason. Do you think we can get a copy of the surveillance tape of the hallway?”

“Yeah, I’ll have to have my boss get it for you though. I don’t have the keys,” Jason said.

The men stood up to leave. David handed Jason his business card. “Please call me as soon as you get that tape or think of anything that might be important.”

  “Yes sir,” Jason said quietly.

David and Joe left the office and went back into the empty lobby to leave.

“Hey kid,” Joe said, turning around to look at the dejected night clerk. “What’s your username?”

  “Rosehips,” Jason mumbled.

Joe turned back around. “I think I might be sick,” he said under his breath.

“What?” David said as they opened up the doors.

Outside, a swarm of reporters had gathered and David and Joe were immediately swamped.

“Detective Balducci, is it true that we have a serial killer loose in the city?”

“No comment,” David said as he pushed his way through the mob of reporters.

“Detective, is it true that this is the work of a woman?

“Detective, is it true that the killer is collecting individual body parts from each victim?”

“Detective, is it true that IA is investigating you for the beating you gave during the interview of a suspect?”
