The door opens and she comes out. She’s so close I can reach out and touch her. I do just that.
“Deep,” she whispers without turning around.
“Yeah baby it’s me,” I whisper as I pull her back against me. This feels so right.
“My heart felt you,” she whispers breathlessly but doesn’t move from my arms. She seems to press closer, “what are you doing here?”
“Looking for my heart,” I whisper softly in her ear, “Been looking for over a year. Finally found it.”
I kiss her neck and slide my hand up to her throat. She’s breathing heavy. I gently stroke her there. Her head falls back on my shoulder.
“Baby why did you run from me?” I ask gently, “Did I hurt you?”
She slowly turns in my arms and faces me.
“I didn’t run,” she whispers, “I chose to leave. When I woke and found it wasn’t a dream and you had left like I was some sort of whore without even a goodbye, I left. I figured you took it as a one night stand and that was it. ”
“What the hell are you talking about?” he says angrily, “Emily, with you can never be a one night stand. I had to go check on things at your house. I had a call and I had to leave. I didn’t want to wake you.”
“Well you should have!” she snaps. “I have to get back. This party is for me.”
She tries to leave. I grab her wrist and my hand wraps around something. I look down at it. My watch. I know then that she feels the way I do but she’s angry and afraid. I need to go slow. Find out what’s going on.
She looks at me as tears spring to her eyes.
“Please Deep, just let me get through this and we’ll talk.”
“Alright baby but I’m not letting you out of my sight. Let’s go.”
I slide my arm around her waist as we enter the dining hall. Angel has us seats at her table. I slide my hand down and she eases her hand in mine. I look at her and she looks up at me and shyly smiles. My heart hits the front of my chest like a sledge hammer. I raise her hand to my lips and kiss the palm as I lead her to the table. The prick is here.
“Uh, thank you for escorting my date back to me,” he says trying to puff up. I look at Deacon and Angel who are trying not to laugh. I play along.
“You’re very welcome,” I say overly polite, “We’re old friends from the states.”
He perks up. Fool. Em looks at me puzzled as she takes a seat. I sit next to her. Stupid sits on the other side. Deacon sits next to him and Angel next to me. I put my arm around the back of Emily’s chair.
After a bit of conversation with everyone enjoying themselves the prick opens his mouth again.
“Uh, excuse me, but you may be making my date a little uncomfortable, could you remove your arm now?”
“Oh sorry buddy,” I say icily, “Old habit.”
I take my arm down and the prick puts his around her and his thumb slides down her shoulder. Emily shivers. That did it. Angel grabs me and Deacon gets the pricks attention.
Emily handles it quickly.
“Robert,” she says softly.
“Yes darling?” he answers. I wanna pound him in the mouth.
“Don’t touch me like that please. It makes me uncomfortable. I really don’t know you.”
“I know but I want to remedy that,” he replies, “I have wanted to ask you out since I first met you. Let’s let this be our starting point.”
“No I can’t,” she says politely.
“But you can,” he says and his hand rest on her knee. That’s it!
“Get your hand off her now!” I say in a low tone that Deacon and Angel know as deadly.
“Pardon?” this fool says.
Em has already moved his hand off her knee and leaned back into me. She turns to me. Pleading in her eyes. I take a deep breath, wrap my arm around her chair again and sit back.
“Nothing,” I grumble.
Robert this is Drakon Pattinson,” she says right before she shocks the hell out of me, “My boyfriend,” she hesitates slightly, “and the twins’ father.”
“What?!” the prick and I say at the same time.
EMILY
As I walk from the bathroom my arm is grabbed. I don’t scream. I know who it is instantly. My heart already knew.
“Deep,” I whisper at the familiar surge that lands between my thighs.
“Yeah baby it’s me,” he whispers and pulls me back against him. This feels so right.
“My heart felt you,” I whisper as I move closer into his arms, “what are you doing here?”
“Looking for my heart,” he says softly in my ear, “Been looking for over a year. Finally found it.” He kisses my neck and slides his hand up to my throat.
“Oh my god!” I think to myself as my head falls back on his shoulder. His touch feels so good.
“Baby why did you run from me?” he asks, “Did I hurt you?”
I slowly turn in his arms and face him.
“I didn’t run. I chose to leave. When I woke and found it wasn’t a dream and you had left like I was some sort of whore without even a goodbye, I left. I figured you took it as a one night stand and that was it. ”
“What the hell are you talking about?” he replies angrily, “Emily, with you can never be a one night stand. I had to go check on things at your house. I had a call and I had to leave. I didn’t want to wake you.”
“Well you should have!” I snap, “I have to get back. This party is for me.”
I try to leave. He grabs my wrist.
I look at him and tears fill my eyes.
“Please Deep? Just let me get through this and we’ll talk.”
“Alright baby but I’m not letting you out of my sight. Let’s go.”
He slides his arm around my waist as we enter the dining hall. It feels so right. I feel very proud. He slides his hand from my back. I feel lost. I ease my hand in his. He looks down at me, I look up and smile. He raises my hand to his lips and kisses my palm as he leads me to the table. My stomach convulses and I swear I think I had a mini orgasm. I know I did.
“Uh thank you for escorting my date back to me,” Robert says trying to show ownership or something.
“Oh crap” is all I can think but Deep is the perfect gentleman.
“You’re very welcome,” he says a bit too politely, “We’re old friends from the states.”
“What’s going on?” I think as I take a seat. Deep sits next to me and so does Robert. Deep puts his arm around the back of my chair and strokes my arm. My body trembles with need for him. He introduces me to Angel Rivera and Deacon Conrad, two of his closest friends, they’re sitting with us. I remember Deacon from my family home in Bridgeport. Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. Myself included. I keep looking at Deep and he at me. I don’t mean to be rude but Deep is here and that’s all I can see.
I forget about Robert until he opens his mouth.
“Uh, excuse me, but you may be making my date a little uncomfortable,” he says as he nods and smiles at me, “Could you remove your arm now?”
“Oh crap” I think to myself again but Deep again surprises me.
“Oh sorry buddy,” he says with a forced smile, “Old habit.”
Deep removes his arm and I guess Robert thought it meant he could put his there. He slides his finger down my arm and I shiver and nearly throw up. I lean closer to Deep but inadvertently lean more toward Robert’s hand.
Now Deep looks pissed. I speak up quickly.
“Robert,” I say quietly.
“Yes darling?” he answers. I wanna punch him in the face, it makes my skin crawl.
“Don’t touch me like that please. It makes me uncomfortable. I really don’t know you (or like you at this point).”
“I know but I want to remedy that,” he replies, “I have wanted to ask you out since I first met you. Let’s let this be our starting point.”
“No I can’t.”
“But you can,” he says as he moves his arm from around my chair and his hand lands
on my knee as he positions himself to face me.
“Get your hand off her now!” Deep says in a low tone that is laced with ice.
“Pardon?” Robert says.
I move his hand off my knee. I turn to Deep and plead with my eyes to him. He takes a deep breath and sits back sliding his arm around me again.
“Nothing,” he grumbles.
I decide then and there that I need to let Robert down easily or not so easy. So he’ll know there is no chance for him.
“Robert this is Drakon Pattinson, my boyfriend,” and before I can stop myself it just flies out, “the twins’ father.”
“What?!” they both say shocked at the same time.
“What did you just say to me?” Robert demands in a muted tone so no one else at the table can hear, “Your boyfriend! As long as we’ve worked together you never mentioned a “boyfriend.” I knew you had been hurt and I also knew you never dated anyone. Your assistant talks so much I always got it out of her. She said you pined for the father of your children but she thought if I was persistent I may win you. Now you tell me this is him? What kind of twisted game are the two of you playing? I think you owe me an explanation.” His voice gets harder and harder as his rant goes on. But thankfully no one looks our way.
“Robert please,” I start to speak but Deep cuts me off and not in a very pleasant tone. He keeps it low and deadly.
“Look, uh Robert, that is your name isn’t it?” he ask but does not wait for an answer, “Robert If you ever talk to her in that tone, no let me change that, if you ever talk to her again I will crush you. This is mine. All of it and you don’t get a share. You don’t touch, look, smell or see her. If you do and I find out and Robert I will find out, I will crush you. Do you understand?”
Robert makes the mistake of looking at me and opening his mouth. Before words can come out Deep speaks again.
“No Robert, eyes here. Now I thought you were a man of reason but you are about to do what I just told you not to do where she is concerned. Now my friends are going to escort you to another area while I talk to MY woman. Understand? Don’t speak just nod your head.”
Robert isn’t getting it. He speaks and it is the stupidest thing he could have ever thought to say. He leans across me on the table which puts him in close contact with me again and tries to get in Deep’s face.
“Are you serious? You think you can tell me what to do about my date. She never mentioned you to me because she wants a little “Rob O” time. When our date is over you can have her back. My mother told me to always be a gentleman and take my date home no matter how bad the time. Now if you’ll excuse US, I need to talk to Emily. I mean I am one of her leading clients in the sale of her jewelry.”
I see Deep’s eyes shift. Deacon and Angel shake their heads as they position themselves to stop Deep. I realize this and lean into his arms to keep him in his seat.
“Robert please go away. This is out of your league. “Rob O time,” No. Never gonna happen. That just sounds nasty. As for your jewelry store, you can sell my jewelry or not,” I say in hushed tones as tears form in my eyes and my voice gets husky, “I am no man’s whore and just because you sell my jewelry, and for a great profit to you I might add, does not give you any, and I mean any, rights to me. Now please just go away.” The tears spill down my cheeks and Deep loses it. He slides me over just before he grabs Robert and pulls him close in a friend type vise hug. He leans into Robert’s ear and says something I can’t hear. He lets Robert go, slaps him on the back and sits back in his chair pulling me close as he does. Robert however excuses himself. Says he’s not feeling well and in front of everyone at the table he ask Deep if he would mind escorting me home after the Gala.
“It would be my privilege,” Deep says with that overly polite tone. Robert never looks at me. I mean never. He turns and rushes out of the hall.
“Now we have to talk,” Drakon says in his “you have no choice voice.” Not Deep right now.
Just as I’m about to speak the host of the Gala comes and ask me to meet someone who just purchased almost all my jewelry.
“Yes of course,” I tell him as I look at Deep and he nods. He stands with me. So do Deacon and Angel. Which I find odd. I follow Mr. West over to the person who bought my jewelry. Deep, Angel and Deacon stand behind me.
“Mr. Jones this is Ms. Emily Barton,” Mr. West says, “Designer behind the “Emmy Winners” jewelry. Emily, Mr. Jack Jones.”
“Nice to meet you finally,” Mr. Jones says taking my hand and stroking it, “I have been a fan of yours for a while. You are far more breathtaking in person than your pictures. Don’t get me wrong you are stunning in photographs but the real things is superb.”
“Thank you for the compliments,” I reply feeling kinda creeped out about how he has my hand, “and I’m glad you like my jewelry.”
I try sliding my hand back, but he holds on. I now look him directly in the eye and pay attention to what I see. He is around forty years old and about six foot tall with a stocky build. He has his brown hair slicked back and a scar on his left cheek. He’s smiling but the smile doesn’t reach his brown eyes. He is staring hard into mine.
I feel the angry heat coming from Deep who steps to my side.
I snatch my hand back.
“Thank you again Mr. Jones. I must be going. I’m not feeling well.” I turn to Deep and he slides his arm around me and leads me away.
“You are very welcome Ms. Barton. We will meet again. Of this I am sure.” I look back and give him a half smile. Deep leads me out.
“We’re done,” Deep says as he leads me on through to the outside, “We have to talk and I’m tired of waiting.”
The car pulls up and we get in. Before the door closes his mouth is immediately on mine. I moan and melt into him. He ravishes my mouth. I try to pack a year of need into that one kiss. I try and give it as good I get. He pushes a button and the divider closes and blacks out as he pulls me down on the seat and ravages my mouth. His hands seem to be everywhere. He gently sucks and strokes my tongue with his. He slides down and kiss between my breasts before he takes my nipple in his mouth. I moan. He feels so good. His hand slides down to the slit in my dress and slides up. He feels my mound. I am soaking wet. He rips my thong off. My hands are pulling him as close as I can. My body grinds down on his hand. I want him so bad. He frees himself and I have to touch it. This sends him into high gear. He sits up pulling me with him and quickly pulls me across his lap. Having me straddle him. He guides me onto his manhood and surges up. Filling me completely.
“Oh my fucking goodness!!!” I moan deep in my throat as I throw my head back. He starts a slow rhythm. I match him. As he pumps into me I lose control. I bring my head down on his shoulder as my walls tightens and his manhood swells. I tense and start to rotate my hips faster. I need him so much. He fills me. Not just sexually. He fills and feels my heart. He pumps harder. I scream his name as I am pushed over the edge. I lay my head on his shoulder and it feels so natural for me to sink my teeth into it. I love it. He follows me over the edge and brands me as he goes. As we come down he kisses me gently.
“Oh no, we did it again.” I am flipping out in my mind. I still want him. We can’t do this. But why we can’t I don’t know.”
I quickly pull back, sliding to the opposite side of the car. Straightening my clothes as I go.
“No,” I say instantly.
“No? No what?” he ask in a very low steady voice.
“No you don’t get to do this,” I reply, “I lost my sense once, well maybe twice but not again. If you could have me dropped off at the hotel I will be more than thankful.”
“Are you loopy? Did you hit your head or drink too much? We just did.”
“No Drakon,” I whisper, “You don’t get to hurt me again.”
“Hurt you? Did I hear you correctly? I think you’ve kept something from me that hurts me. You said in there I was the father of twins and you think you can just walk away. Yeah. Right. Sounds Good. Not gonn
a happen.”
I roll my eyes as I cross my arms across myself.
“No I am not loopy, did not hit my head, or drink too much. I don’t owe you anything. Now take me to the hotel. I’m tired and I want to lie down.”
“Yes you owe me an explanation. You said I have twins. Where are they?”
“I lied. They’re my housekeeper’s kids. I told Robert that to discourage him from trying to ask me out all the time,” I lie, “Now please take me to the hotel.”
Tears spring to my eyes.
“You lied?” he whispers, “You are telling me I don’t have two children?”
“Yes that’s what I’m saying,” I reply as I think to myself to make it part true, “I have two children.”
We arrive at the hotel and I jump out before the door can be opened for me. I rush through the lobby trying to get to the elevator before Deep can catch me. Yeah, I’m kinda slow. He’s right behind me. When I get to the elevator he’s right beside me.
“Where are you going?” I ask as the elevator opens.
“To your room,” he says so easily, as if it’s a given. This makes me even angrier.
“No you aren’t! I didn’t invite you!”
The elevator stops on my floor and I exit. I walk to my suite and slide the card in. As I open the door I turn to him.
