Secret Prince's Bride (Imperial Draka Book 2)

"I hope they never have to wear crowns," Xuan said.
"I'm okay with circlets," I countered, teasing Xuan.
"You may not like Yore circles," he replied, kissing my cheek. "They aren't what you're used to."
"I'll look forward to seeing them, then." I gasped as the babies kicked me particularly hard. I got a flash of something in my mind. "Who would try to mind-speak with me at my wedding?"
I looked around. We had invited the wild Yore, but they completely distrusted the Draka to behave themselves and not imprison them. They were wary of the Yore who were under the Draka, too. There shouldn't be anybody putting symbols in my head.
Then another one came, this time lingering.
"The baby doesn't like spicy food," I blurted out.
"What?" Xuan asked.
"The baby doesn't like spiciness." I shook my head. "I don't know which twin it is, but they don't like the spice in the squid that we ate." I covered my mouth. "The baby is talking to me!" I put a hand on my stomach and felt the outline of a tiny foot tapping against my hand. "I have to study harder, because sometimes the symbols don't stay as long as they would if the babies were older."
Xuan kissed my hair. "I'm sure you'll be great at it."
I smiled up at him. Pregnant and mated…I couldn’t think of anything better. I was sure that I was at the very best spot in the universe.
