The Days of Elijah, Book One: Apocalypse: A Novel of the Great Tribulation in America

“Search and rescue efforts have been suspended for the West Coast, as almost no bridges or overpasses survived the quake, and the complete lack of navigable roadways leave the Global Republic unable to respond to the crisis. Emergency management officials have decided to focus their efforts on the East Coast where there are still lives that can be saved.
New Atlantis is just now digging itself out from beneath the rubble and getting to a state of operations in which it can care for its own wounds. The most recent architectural additions to New Atlantis were built using the latest technology and faired the great quake quite well. Many other structures in the city, including the old US Capitol, The White House and the Washington Monument were completely destroyed.
“His High Prepotent Majesty Angelo Luz issued a statement to the press earlier this morning vowing to rebuild the Monument as a symbol of the world’s ability to overcome such utter catastrophic destruction. He stood upon the fallen stones of the Washington Monument and read from the ancient Book of Isaiah, which reads, ‘The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.’
“The New Madrid fault sent waves of destruction in all directions, causing massive loss of life from Memphis to Saint Louis.
“Thank you for listening to this emergency operation update. Our station will be signing off for now to conserve power for critical needs, but we will be broadcasting ten minute updates every hour from now, until we resume normal operations. We hope to be back to our regularly scheduled programming by this time next week.”
Everett turned off the radio in time to look up and see a huge walnut tree laying across the road.
Kevin rolled to a stop. “I guess that’s the end of our field trip for today.”
Sarah leaned forward from the back seat. “The roads are so bad. It almost doesn’t matter.”
Kevin put the truck in reverse and began turning around on the severely damaged pavement. “So we’re cut off on this side by this tree and from Trout Run by the land slide.”
Courtney spoke from the back seat. “That’s not necessarily a bad thing.”
“Other than not being able to get our supplies, I agree,” Everett said.
“That tree can be cleared in a day or two. We need to take a hike down the mountain next week to see how bad the rest of the road is.” Kevin pulled back on to the jagged asphalt and slowly drove back towards Elijah’s “Somehow, we have to figure out a way to get the rest of those supplies, and we need to do it before the GR is back up and running at full throttle.”
The group arrived at Elijah’s just as he was ready to serve the Passover Seder. They sat at the table together as Elijah explained each part of the meal, tying the meaning of everything to Messiah.
Afterwards, Everett thought about the different aspects of the meal, the Old Testament meaning and the New Testament application. A sense of deep peace and quiet came over his spirit and he felt the sudden urge to go outside, to be alone and quiet before God. Almost in a whisper, he said, “Please excuse me. I’ll be right back.” He walked outside into the night and looked up at the heavens. All was still and silent. He listened for the crickets which should have been chirping. There were none. He listened for the wind, but it was still. He listened for the frogs which should surely be making noise after so much rain the night before, but everything was hushed. Everett stood on Elijah’s porch, motionless for the next half hour, listening to the soundless tranquility. He slowly looked up to see storm clouds gathering above. And then with a mighty and fierce crack of lightening, deafening thunder shattered the calm. Yet, Everett remained on the porch, determined to drink it in. The ground began shaking again as the biggest aftershock since the great quake shook the entire mountain. Everett took hold of the post which held Elijah’s roof over the porch to steady himself. This was it, the Seventh Seal of which he’d read, and Elijah had explained. According to the prophecy of Revelation, next would be seven angels sounding seven trumpets which would announce the coming of blood, and fire, and death, and destruction, and the bitterness of God’s Wrath. Everett, Courtney, Kevin, Sarah, and Elijah had survived the Seven Seals, but would they be able to endure the next devastating wave of the Great Tribulation?
Don’t Panic!
Inevitably, books like this will wake folks up to the need to be prepared, or cause those of us who are already prepared to take inventory of our preparations. New preppers can find the task of getting prepared for an economic collapse, EMP, or societal breakdown to be a source of great anxiety. It shouldn’t be. By following an organized plan and setting a goal of getting a little more prepared each day, you can do it.
I always try to include a few prepper tips in my novels, but they’re fiction and not a comprehensive plan to get prepared. Now that you’re motivated to start prepping, the last thing I want to do is leave you frustrated, not knowing what to do next. So, I’d like to offer you a free PDF copy of The Seven Step Survival Plan.
For the new prepper, The Seven Step Survival Plan provides a blueprint that prioritizes the different aspects of preparedness and breaks them down into achievable goals. For seasoned preppers who often get overweight in one particular area of preparedness, The Seven Step Survival Plan provides basic guidelines to help keep their plan in balance, and ensures they’re not missing any critical segments of a well-adjusted survival strategy.

The Days of Noah
In The Days of Noah, Book One: Conspiracy, You’ll see the challenges and events that Everett and Courtney have endured to reach the point in the story that you’ve just read. You’ll have a better understanding of how the old political and monetary system were cleared away, like pieces on a chess board, to make way for the one-world kingdom of the Antichrist.
