Crazy Summer

“Summa’, I did what I thought was best fo’ me.”
“And what was that?” Summer asked, taking a deep breath while waiting for an answer.
“I was gonna help Stacy set you up.” She closed her eyes and dropped her head.
Kiki stood up, raised his leg, and kicked her square in the face. Blood, along with a tooth or two, shot from her mouth. Her head hit hard against the wall, and she tilted over, smearing blood on it.
Summer looked at Kiki, a grim look masking her face. “I don’t have no use for her.”
“Summa’, please. You know we go way back. It wasn’t my fault.” She paused and looked at Kiki. “Everything I did fo’ you. I saw you kill people, Kiki, and I never opened my mouth about nothing.”
“Well, I’m proud of you. You did damn good.”
A million things were running through Summer’s head. She thought about the time Red Bone took her in when she’d left home and the time she had given her half of her food stamps to feed the twins. Those were the good times, and Summer remembered them just like it was yesterday.
“Is there any kind of way she could benefit us?” Summer asked softly as she thought of the saying, Keep your enemies close.
Kiki didn’t respond; he just stared angrily at Red Bone. Then he shrugged his shoulders, removed a small caliber revolver from his waist, and looked at Summer.
“Is there anything you wanna say before she leaves?”
Summer walked over to Red Bone. Their eyes were fixed on one another; it seemed as if they were distance sisters or something. Summer touched her bloody face.
“I’m sorry, okay?” she told Red Bone as tears started to stream down her face.
“Summa’, please give me another chance. Please don’t let him kill me.”
Summer kissed her forehead and stood up. She reached her hand out for the .32 revolver. “I’ll do it,” she told him.
Kiki hesitated for a moment, but when he saw Summer wasn’t bullshitting, he handed her the gun. Summer took it and popped the cylinder out to make sure it was loaded. She then slammed it back inside and gripped the handle carefully as if she knew what she was doing. She aimed the gun perfectly between Red Bone’s breasts. Her finger rested on the trigger, but before she pulled it, she swung the gun around and aimed it directly at Kiki. His eyes widened, and his reaction made him reach for the gun. Summer pulled the trigger, and Kiki jerked his hand back, shaking it like he had stuck it in a fire.
“Bitch!” he growled.
She pulled the trigger two more times, hitting him once in the center of his chest and in his throat. He stumbled two steps backwards, clutching at his neck. He wanted to stop the bleeding, but he knew it was too much to control. He finally collapsed to the floor, staring directly into Summer’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, Kiki,” she whispered, then stepped forward and aimed between his eyes.
Boom! After pulling the trigger, she quickly turned toward Red Bone, who was still staring in shock. Not because she was scared, but because she would’ve never thought Summer could kill someone. As Red Bone smiled halfheartedly, Summer quickly helped her to her feet.
“I’m sorry, Summa’,” she uttered softly.
The door opened, and Bookie walked in with a Glock 40 in his hand. Summer and Red Bone looked at him. His eyes were deadly, but he was down with the lick. The entire plot had been planned perfectly; everybody knew about it except Red Bone. When Summer told Mama Elizabeth that she wanted in, she told her the only way that would be possible is if she killed Kiki, because he was a major threat.
Red Bone stood, her face covered in blood. Tucking away his gun, Bookie pulled his knife and approached Red Bone to cut the tape from her ankles. After he cut the tape from her ankles and wrists, she quickly walked over to Kiki and spit a hunk of blood in his face.
“Bastard.” She turned toward Summer, and their eyes met. “Anything you need, jus’ let me know.”
Summer placed two of her fingers underneath Red Bone’s chin. “Listen to me.” She paused. “You hear me?”
Red Bone nodded like an obedient child. “I hear you.”
“As of today, you work for nobody except me. You don’t take orders from nobody except me. Not even the police, Red Bone. Is that understood?”
She nodded again. “Yes.”
Summer looked at Bookie. “Can you handle everything?”
“I’ll wrap him up and bury him good. Whazzup with her?” he asked, pointing at Red Bone.
“I’ma take her to the hospital. Make sho’ this place is clean because we don’t want any evidence, okay?”
He nodded.
After the two ladies left, Bookie stood over Kiki’s body. He leaned down to check the pulse in his neck, and to his surprise, Kiki was still alive. Bookie took his knife and plunged it hard in his chest. He removed it and repeated the action, driving it with brutal force.

Later that night, Summer was at Mama Elizabeth’s house. She had changed her clothes and made sure Red Bone was taken care of when she dropped her off at MCG. She and Mama Elizabeth were sitting outside in patio chairs overlooking the lit swimming pool. They were in deep thought. Mama Elizabeth turned her head toward Summer, who was raking her hair with her fingernails.
“You know Kiki was buying fifteen keys a week. Now I know you’re not in that kind of position financially, but I can start you out with seven on consignment.”
“And at what price?” Summer asked.
“Nineteen thousand a piece.”
“And if I came up with the money upfront?”
“Listen, Summer, I got an old connect from damn near twenty years ago.” She paused. “And I’m not in a position to take any losses. Now, I told you that I would fuck with you on the work, and I’m a woman of my word. It’s a new drug game now. You got the x-men, you got your meth team, and then you got Cush, purple thrax and dro. The weed game is damn near dominating the cocaine. My advice to you is that you take a slow grind.”
Summer sat up and fixed her eyes on Mama Elizabeth. “I’m a quick thinker. I’m capable of handling any task that comes my way, and right now, I got the strip club and know at least three guys who were working for Kiki. I’ma collect the tabs from each of them, and with that money, I wanna cop some work. Twenty keys a month.”
“And who’s gonna help you?”
“I was banking on Bookie. I’m sure he’ll ride with me.”
“Okay, I tell you what,” Mama Elizabeth said. “You get your money up, then come back and see me in three days. Now, Summer, I don’t need no heat from the feds.”
“Just let me handle my end,” she said. Then she stood up, grabbed Mama Elizabeth’s hand, and kissed it.
Chapter 35
A few days later, Summer met up with Susan, the real estate agent, at Apple Bee’s restaurant in Evans, Georgia. Summer parked next to her in the parking lot, got out, and hopped in the passenger seat of her car.
“Good afternoon,” Susan chirped happily. She removed a thin stack of photos from a manila envelope. The pictures were of a five-bedroom house, split level, and on seven acres of land. The two-car garage was separated from the house.
Summer flipped through the photos one by one. Some of them showed a huge spacious kitchen with an island stove and marble countertops. All of the bedrooms were huge with nearly twelve-foot ceilings and wall-to-wall carpet.
She looked at Susan and said, “I’ve seen everything except a price.”
“One point six million.”
“Too much at the moment.”
“What can you come up with?”
“Maybe a hundred and twenty, hundred and thirty.”
“How soon, Summer?”
“A week from today. So I’m assuming the house is in Columbia County?”
“Yes. I picked it out. The school location is excellent for the kids. I’ll handle the paperwork and try to set the mortgage at about twenty-five hundred a month. Will you be able to handle that?”
Summ
er gave a sly grin. “It wouldn’t be a problem, trust me. But, I wanna be moving in by next week.”
“That can be arranged. Let me ask you a question. What kind of business do you do?”
“Import/export, and I’m seeking investors,” Summer replied.
She reached over and slid her hand underneath Susan’s skirt. Susan’s eyes widened, and she quickly scanned the parking lot to make sure no one could see them.
“You make me so wet,” Susan whispered.
Summer inserted two fingers deep inside Susan.
“I may need you to take a trip. Is that okay?”
With her eyes closed and twirling her ass around in the seat while trying desperately to cum, she bit her bottom lip and said, “I’ll do anything for you.”
Summer worked her fingers faster and deeper inside of Susan’s vagina until the juices covered them. “You promise.”
“Yes. Yes, baby, I promise.” And she meant it.

A week later, Summer purchased brand-new furniture and had it delivered to her mother’s new house. She drove her mother and the kids there, and each of them was amazed at the beautifulness that surrounded the neighborhood. The closest house to theirs was nearly the length of two football fields away. As Summer drove the Lexus down the paved driveway, even she was amazed. She thought of it as their baby castle. The brick house sat on spacious land.
“Mama, how I’ma get to the boxing club from way out here?” Lil’ Danté asked.
Summer looked at him through the rearview as she turned off the engine. Her face expression was the same, not an angry wrinkle. Lil’ Danté was looking more and more like his father, and the twins were covered in facial hairs.
“Let me handle that, okay?” She looked to her mother sitting next to her. “Mama, this your new house.”
After everybody got out the car, Summer handed her mother the set of keys. Mrs. Diane walked up toward the front porch; thick pine straw was scattered everywhere. Summer removed her cell phone and hit Bookie on speed dial. He answered after three rings.
“Whazzup, lady?” he asked, already knowing it was her calling.
As Summer watched everybody walk inside the house, she said into the phone, “How’s everything going?”
“Jus’ picked up some old tabs. You know, some money that was still in the streets.”
“Like how much?”
“Big number. Over half a ticket.”
Summer thought briefly. She knew a ticket in the streets was really a million dollars. Therefore, he’d collected over half a million from some of Kiki’s workers. Summer knew her position, and she also knew Bookie was down with her. She thought about seducing him or at least inviting him out for a nightcap, but it seemed as if he didn’t show much interest in her.
“Where you at now?” she asked.
“I’m comin’ down the twenty, heading that way from South Carolina.”
“Good. I’m at the new house with my mama and the kids. You can come straight here so we can talk.”
“I’ll see you in about forty-five minutes.”
“Okay.”
She pressed the end button and entered the house. Inside the living room, she stopped and looked around. She was impressed at how the interior decorator had everything laid out. There was a huge expensive Oriental rug laid on a majority of the floor. African art covered the walls. She went upstairs and walked into the first bedroom on the right. The walls were painted a soft pink for her daughter, giving it a girlish look. The bedroom set would be delivered the next day. Summer went into the hallway, where the twins met her.
She looked at them and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“We wanna know how you got this house?” Jeremy said.
Her eyes went from one twin to the other. She had a feeling they knew what she was doing, but she damn sure wasn’t about to tell them. Summer took a deep breath; she hated lying to her boys.
“Ya’ll already know about the club, right?”
“Yeah, we know ‘bout it. But this house cost a lot of money.”
“Let’s just say I know people with money and a lot of pull. And we gonna leave that at that.” She turned around. “Y’all follow me.”
She went downstairs with the twins right behind her. They went into the kitchen where her mother, Lil’ Danté, and Alisa were standing.
“Have y’all seen the pool yet?”
Several no’s sounded through the kitchen. Summer led the way once again, heading toward the tinted patio doors. She opened them and walked outside. The kids were with her, but Mrs. Diane stayed back. From the patio, Summer watched the kids explore their land. The in-ground pool had a diving board. It was empty, but it would soon be filled.
She went back inside and hugged her mother. “You like it?”
“I love it, baby. I jus’ want you to be careful. You know these kids need you here.”
“To the best of my ability, Mama.” That came from the heart, and she meant it.
Chapter 36
When Bookie pulled up, he parked behind a Mayflower moving truck and noticed at least four guys unloading carefully-wrapped furniture. He got out, walked around to the trunk, and removed a nice-sized duffel bag, throwing it over his shoulder. He then closed the trunk and walked up to the front entrance of the house. Summer met him at the door.
“Hey,” she said and gave him a brief hug.
He looked over her shoulder. The twins were eyeing him from the center of the living room. It was a look he’d given to his mother’s boyfriend several times when he was that age.
“You alright?” he asked calmly. This was a question he didn’t really have to ask, but it was his way of greeting her.
As they walked toward the twins, Summer introduced them to him. “Bookie, these are my oldest boys, Jermaine and Jeremy.”
Bookie looked up at them. He was only 5’8” and the twins stood almost 6’4”. “I know y’all play basketball, right?”
Their facial expression softened. They both nodded nearly at the same time.
“What high school y’all gonna play for?”
“What you got in the bag?” Jermaine asked, ignoring his question.
Summer eyes locked directly on him. “Only thing you need to worry about is making excellent grades in school and going pro. Is that understood?”
She never raised her voice.
Upstairs, Summer and Bookie went inside a small room where they could conduct business. Bookie sat the bag on the floor and unzipped it. Out the corner of his eye, he saw how Summer sashayed freely. He studied her body movement. He knew she was trying to get him to fall weak, and at the same time, he also knew that would be his downfall. He began removing the money from the bag. It was secured by rubber bands in ten thousand dollar stacks.
He sat on the floor to get comfortable. Summer did the same thing. She was watching him now. His dark skin was smooth, and his goatee was evenly trimmed. He worked his neck side to side as if he felt a crook trying to work its way in. His eyes met Summer’s.
“I like the twins. Them niggas got heart.”
“They get it from their mama. But, I want their heart to be in a positive way, not bullshit.”
“How old are they?”
“Fourteen, and I want the best for them. I don’t want them to see a video and figure they got to sell drugs to get some money.”
“Me personally, I’d love to see them in the NBA.”
“They need that support,” she said, while continuing to count.
An hour had passed, and they hadn’t counted more than one hundred and thirty thousand dollars. A knock came from the door, and she opened it to find Lil’ Danté standing there. He tried looking past Summer, but she stepped out into the hallway and closed the door behind her. Still, he managed to catch a glimpse of the money. Summer put her arm around his shoulders, and they started walking down the hallway.
Lil’ Danté wanted some answers. She saw that her youngest son was beginning to mature; she could tel
l by the questions he asked. However, Summer was smart and definitely knew how to handle business. When she was in prison, she had envisioned herself being in a position similar to this. Summer had her legit business that was generating some major bread. Today, she was worth six figures easy. Tomorrow, one can never tell.

Chapter 37
Fifteen Months Later…
She stood underneath the showerhead, the water cascading down her body. Her nipples were extremely hard. She propped her foot up on the nearby chair and slowly massaged her wet vagina. The view was perfect for the audience. Red Bone, a main attraction at the club, was performing. She removed the showerhead and held it in her hand. Music bumped from the speakers in the wall. Red Bone sat down on the chair and spread her legs for nearly seventy guys who were standing around the stage. Money was everywhere, and that’s all she needed to see.
She played with her left breast, raising it high enough to suck her own nipple while inserting two fingers inside her vagina. She looked into the eyes of several customers, scanning the crowd seductively. Then she noticed one standing to the rear of everyone else, posted near the wall. She saw him from the waist up as he sipped Patron straight from the bottle. They made eye contact, and he raised the bottle. She took her eyes away from him and continued with her act. Ten minutes later, she finished and another female took the stage.
Red Bone went into Summer’s private office where Summer was sitting behind her desk. Another female was across from her, and it seemed like they were in the middle of a heated discussion.
Red Bone paused at the door and looked at Summer. “He’s here,” was all she said.
Summer looked at the girl across from her. “We’ll talk later.”
The girl stood up and left without question. Red Bone sat down and moved a few strands of hair from her face. Her eyes waited patiently for Summer to respond. Summer sat up straight and looked directly at Red Bone.
