“Stacks, what’s going on?” Lala said sobering up.

“Nothing baby. Call Lisa and tell her to bring you home.”

“Anthony, you are under arrest for the death of officer Jacobs Bucks,” Joey beamed, jerking my arms back then placing the cuffs on me.

When I heard the word officer, I thought I was going to shit on myself. This nigga knew a lot of shit about me. If he gave the information that he had to the FEDS then I was fucked. Playing it cool, I took a deep breath and smirked as he walked me to the same car that I saw spying on me that night Ralph and I was leaving the club.

“OMG Stacks! Oh God, NO!” Lala began to panic.

“Baby, take a deep breath and call Lisa, now!” I barked.

“Yes, listen to daddy, baby,” Joey said taunting me. “Stacks, does she still do that thing with her throat?” he said pushing my buttons.

I brought my legs up and kicked him hard in the balls.

“Ahhh shit!” I yelled out as a bullet ripped through my leg.

“Throw that bastard in the car. With any luck he’ll bleed to death,” Joey said.

In the back of the car I could see Lala crying in Lisa’s arms. Ralph and I made eye contact and I mouthed for him to call my lawyer. Nodding his head, he escorted Lisa and Lala out of the parking lot.

My legs were killing me but I pushed the pain to the side as I tried to figure out how I could be so damn stupid. I’m usually good at figuring out who were cops and who was legit, but this time I slipped. I was hoping my lawyer had something up his sleeve because I was in hot water.

When we got to the police station they had a medical assistant come down and patch me up. I could still feel the bullet fragment in my leg but they didn’t give a fuck. They ignored all of my requests to see a damn doctor. These cops were playing real dirty.

“So we meet again,” Joey said throwing a file down on the table and taking a seat in front of me. I wanted to slap that damn smile off his face.

“You can confess, rat out a couple of your friends, and you can do life or you can get the death penalty. This is a capital felony; on top of that, officer Jacobs left some information that’ll prove that you had intent on killing him. I know you probably killed him because your bitch is a hoe and she was fucking him, but I’ll make it look like you killed him because you found out that he was a cop,” he said with a smile.

“It’s your life, choose wisely,” he smirked.

“Fuck you bitch! You mad that you can no longer test how sweet my wife’s pussy is. I bet it was sweeter than Ashley’s. Whatever happened to her anyway?” I replied smiling.

Joey punched me hard in the nose causing my head to rock backwards.

“Officer, that is police brutality,” my lawyer said as he took a seat next to me.

“Todd, I think there’s a bullet in my fucking leg and he’s refusing to take me to the hospital,” I snapped.

“Is that so Officer Joey? Are you back to drinking? Are you drunk because that is not how things are conducted! I order you get my client to the hospital now or I will hit you so hard with a law suit that’ll it make your father turn over in his grave!!” my lawyer yelled, pulling out his phone and taking pictures of my injuries.

I was sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital, handcuffed to the back of a squad car. The only reason I wasn’t tripping because my lawyer was able to have Lala come and visit me. The doctor removed the bullet, patched me up and gave me some pain pills.

“Hey baby,” Lala said entering the room.

Her eyes were red and puffy as if she had been crying all night.

  “Why you crying?” I asked.

“What am I supposed to do without you?” she cried.

  “Do you trust me?”

  “Yes baby, but…”

“But nothing. If you trust me don’t doubt me; it’s gon’ be okay. Hurry up and give me a kiss before the officer looks in here,” I said puckering my lips.

She bent down and kissed me.

“Call my father when you get home. Ralph already knows what to do. I don’t know how deep in shit I am but I want you to be prepared to have the door kicked in. If the cops do that, I want you to flush the toilet in the guest bathroom two times. The wall is going to crack open and you use that door to leave the house. Don’t take anything with you. You, Anna and the kids leave, that’s only if the FEDS come knocking. If not, I want you to continue to do everything as you would normally do, you got it?” I whispered before stuffing my tongue back in her mouth.

She nodded her head up and down as our tongues continued to make passionate love of its own.

“That’s enough,” the officer said. “Visit is over.”

“I love you, Lala,” I said, watching her leave.

“I love you too Stacks,” she whispered.

  Chapter 26

  Joey

When I discovered that Stacks was doing business with Jacob, I almost came on myself. Jacob was the undercover officer they hired to take over my spot in the Stack’s case. I was able to hack into his files and steal all of the information that he had on Stacks. It was a plus that I had witnesses placing Jacob and Lala on a few dates.

Lala, I had to admit, she was looking great. If we were under different circumstances I would have definitely tried to hit that. The way her ass stood up in that dress had me thinking back to when I used to have her face down, ass up all over my house.

“You are going to pay for this you stupid drunk,” Carla spat as I placed her behind the squad car.

Ignoring her, I banged my fist on the hood of the car signaling for the officer to take her into custody. I was officially done cracking this case and it felt good. I was able to complete this job and I was proud of myself; however, my father’s voice that was in my head kept reminding me how I wasn’t shit.

Now that Stacks was behind bars, it was time for me to take away his family like he did mine. I waited until night took over the sky before getting in my car and heading over to their house. Before coming here, I studied this house as if I was studying for midterms. I had everyone’s schedule down pat. I even knew when the security guards would rotate shifts. Every night at ten, the front gate guard would take a fifteen minute walk around the house leaving the gate unattended.

I waited until the guard left to make his rounds before jumping out the car. Dressed in all black, I jogged towards the house. Entering the gate through the ditch that I spent my nights digging up, I slowly walked to the door making sure to stay out of the cameras’ sight.

Reaching in my book bag, I took out the suicide bombs and placed them around the house. When I was done, I left out the same way I came in. I got in my car and drove a safe distance away from the house before pressing the button that exploded the house into flames.

Admiring my handiwork, I sat back with a huge smile on my face while watching the flames take over the house.

“This is for you Ash,” I said before driving away.

Entering the loft that I purchased, I sat down looking through my family album. The pain that I thought would vanish after I got my revenge was still there. Getting up, I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of whiskey. I sat on my bed and drank straight from the bottle.

You still worthless, my father’s voice taunted me.

  “I cracked the fucking case!”

Yeah, by stealing someone else’s evidence! You would have never have done it alone, you piece of shit!

“Why are you doing this to me?” I cried.

Because you will never amount to nothing, you scum of the earth! You will never be Jimmy!

“I don’t want to be Jimmy!”

I don’t know why I waste my time talking to you, you pathetic sack of shit!

“What do I have to do to earn your respect?” I asked in desperation.

You really want to know what you can do?

“Yes tell me, I’ll do anything!”

  Another game of Russian Roulet
te. If you make it out alive then I’ll be proud of you. If not, then you’re just a dead asshole!

  “That’s it?” I asked.

Yup, unless you’re not man enough to do it.

Getting up, I walked to the closet and reached for the box the gun was in. Since I’ve been working and doing something with my life, I stopped gambling with my life. However, if this is what it took for me to have his love, I’ll do it. Besides, I had nothing to live for. The only child I had disowned me.

Placing the box on the table, I fumbled with the lock until it was open. Flipping the lid open I picked up the revolver. I retrieved the bullet, placed it in the hole, spun the cylinder and flipped it close. Taking a seat on the chair, I placed the muzzle to my head.

Don’t let him do that, I heard my mother’s voice say.

No. Let the worthless piece of shit prove himself. He wants my love; this is the only way he’ll get it. You hear me Joey? Pull the fucking trigger if you want my love.

  POW!

I felt my soul being separated from my body. Looking down, I began to panic as I saw my body lying on the floor. Although I had nothing to live for, I still wanted to continue on with life. All I wanted was the love of my father. I didn’t think I would actually die.

“Welcome to hell,” my father said before walking away from me.

I bent down and held on to my mother who was crouched down on the floor crying.

  Chapter 27

  Lisa

“That’s not fucking right! Check again!!” I yelled out at the firefighter who declared everyone in the house dead.

“Sorry ma’am, the only things that were left in the house was ashes.”

“Oh God no,” I yelled out as I fell to the ground.

I was just there with Lala. I helped her tuck the kids in and I held her until she fell asleep. I promised her that I would be back in the morning and we would figure this out together. I told her that I loved her and that I would always have her back. Now some cracker jack ass nigga was telling me my best friend and and my godchildren were dead!

“Oh God Ralph, what am I supposed to do?” I cried in his arms.

The pain I was feeling was unbearable. Lala was my rock. That was the only friend I had. She was like my other half. Living life without her was something I couldn’t fathom.

“Who would do this to her, Ralph?” I cried. “Oh God, what am I going to do.”

“It’s going to be okay,” Ralph said.

“It’s going to be okay? Really nigga? I lost my family and that’s all you got to say?” I said punching him. “It’s all your fault! You made me come home. I should have stayed! I should have stayed with her you stupid bastard!! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!!” I cried.

“I’m so sorry baby,” he said holding me tight in his arms.

“Oh God, what about Stacks? We have to tell him.”

“His lawyer is scheduling a visit with him now.”

I sat on the ground where Lala’s house once was and cried. I cried so much that I started to shake. Ralph carried me to the car, laid me in the back seat and drove me home.

When we got home he ran me a bath. Laying my body gently in the warm water, he placed a few blunts and a bottle of wine next to me, and gave me some time to grieve alone. Sparking the blunt, memories of Lala started flashing through my head.

One memory that caused me to laugh was the day we jumped this girl for stealing Lala’s money bag at KOD.

It was a slow night at KOD. Nobody was making money but Lala and I. After we did our duo on stage, everybody was requesting a lap dance from us. We had just finished up for the night when Lala noticed her money bag was missing.

“Where did you put it last?” I asked, helping her tear through the lockers.

“I don’t know Lisa. That is ten grand. I need that money so that James can re-up.”

I rolled my eyes hearing that. I was so pissed at the fact that James was okay with his girl shaking her ass for different men just so that he could re-up on drugs. I was about to say something slick but Lala cut me off.

“Please Lisa, not tonight. I just want to find my money and go home.”

“What y’all looking for?” Sweet Chilli, a dancer asked.

“My money bag, did you see it?”

“Dimples probably got it. Her thieving ass is the only one that knows how to break into these lockers. Plus I saw her running out of here before y’all walked in.”

“Thanks Sweet Chilli,” Lala said grabbing her things and running out.

“Man, that hoe probably home by now,” I said running after her.

“Then we gon’ knock on her door. You down?”

“Of course I’m down for my bitch!”

We got in my Infiniti and made our way to Dimples’ house.

“Who is it?” her granny asked coming to the door.

“We’re friends of Dimples, is she home?”

“Yes, she’s in her room, straight to the back. Y’all hungry? I cooked some Shepherd’s pie.”

“Yes ma’am, you can fix mines to go,” I said following behind Lala.

“Where the fuck my money?” Lala said bursting through the door.

Dimples was laying in the bed fucking herself with a fake dick as she watched a flick.

“I don’t know what the fuck y’all talking about,” she said jumping up.

“Damn, your stank pussy ass got this room smelling like the garbage truck,” I said fanning my nose.

“You got five minutes to give me my money or I’mma stomp the yeast infection out your stank pussy ass,” Lala said.

“Like I said I don’t have your money.”

Lala jumped on Dimples and started beating her like she stole something… well technically she did. While Lala was tapping that ass, I was looking through Dimples’ room until I found Lala’s hot pink jeweled money bag. I grabbed it then I punched her in the mouth for lying.

Pulling Lala off of her, I kicked her hard in her stank pussy and we walked out the room.

“Here’s your food baby,” Dimples’ Grandma said handing me a plate wrapped in foil.

“Thank you granny. You have a nice night,” I replied with a smile.

“You too, come back and visit you hear me.”

  “We will.”

“Bitch, I know you is not about to eat that food?” Lala asked as she jumped in the driver’s seat.

“Why not? A bitch hungry and this shit smell good.”

“It does. Save me some,” Lala laughed.

  “I gotchu boo.”

  “Lisa?”

  “Yes baby.”

“You know you my girl right.

“Forever and always,” I replied as I headed home.

Taking a long pull of the blunt, I began crying. Lala was always there for me as I was for her. In these days, bitches were flaw as fuck so the chances of me finding a ride or die like her was slim to none.

“Why you left me like this, Lala?” I whispered as tears fell down my face adding more water to the tub.

I was just about to drown myself when Ralph walked in the door.

  “Baby you good?”

  “Yes.”

“You want to ride to the jail house with me?”

“Yes, it’s only right that we both tell him.”

After finishing off my blunt and two cups of wine, I got up to get dressed. I didn’t feel like getting glammed up so I wrapped my hair in a ponytail and threw on a pair of joggers with a black tee. Grabbing my black Chuck Taylors, I pulled them on my feet and tied the laces.

The whole ride to the jailhouse my heart began to beat rapidly. I was scared of how Stacks was going to take the news. If I was hurting this much, I could only imagine the pain he was going to feel when we delivered the bad news.

The security guards checked us before clearing us to go in. My legs did not want to move so Ralph was basically dragging me. I took a seat on one of those orange p
lastic chairs and we waited hand in hand for Stacks.

When he sat down, my throat got dry and my heart threatened to pound out of my chest. He didn’t look as bad as I expected him to. In fact, he ain’t look like someone who was in jail for a capital felony.

“What’s good?” Stacks said taking seat in front of Ralph.

“Stacks,” I said in a whisper.

“What’s up?” he asked wiping the tears from my eyes.

  “Lala…”

  “Lala what?” he asked confused.

“The house blew up. Lala and the kids were in the house,” I blurted out.

The look on his face was emotionless. He looked over at Ralph who nodded. He then flipped over the table and punched the glass causing it to shatter. Five officers ran over and restrained him before taking him away.

  Chapter 28

  Stacks

Dressed in an all-black Gucci suit, I was in the back of a police car heading to Lala’s funeral. I didn’t know how to feel. I was in a state of shock but yet I held no emotion.

The cop pulled up to the church where the service was being held. I had to admit Lisa did an amazing job putting this together. Taking a seat in the back row of the church, I sat and watched as people came in and were seated by ushers. Since their bodies were badly burned, pictures of Lala, my kids, and Anne each stood next to a coffin.

Everything was happening in slow motion. Lala and I were just together not too long ago and now she was dead. I lost the love of my life and my kids again behind a hating ass motherfucker. I wanted to make Joey pay for this shit, but he took his own life before I could.

Ralph was about to go to the United Kingdom and off his daughter, but I told him not to. That little girl was innocent; she had nothing to do with what her father did. I knew how it felt to lose my kids and I didn’t want to put her mother through that.

Karma has caught up to me and I was now paying for all the wrongs I’d ever done. Every life I took, every drug I sold, every wrong I did was now coming back to haunt me. I tried my best to bend down on my knees since I was chained up like an animal, and say a prayer. I prayed for God to forgive me and to give me a chance to right my wrongs.
