Sargoth lifted his head to peer over Valtheim's walls. “I have my time here with the queen. She requested my aid, and so I shall give it. Part of that is, of course, helping to clear the battlefield of the fallen dead. There's not many who can dispose of bodies quite like I can.”

He sighed and lowered his head back down, absently inspecting his claws. “However, that should not take more than a few days.” He glanced up at Elias. “Do you think you can stay alive for a week?”

Elias laughed. “I certainly hope so! I've got a lot of road between me and the capital, and a whole lot of orcs and ogres and trolls to kill.”

Sargoth nodded, looking back at Elias. “You've already done a whole lot of killing. I wonder when it will be enough.”

Jenna spoke again. “I am sure that, once we have dealt with the leader of the Felle, we will be able to put our swords aside.”

Sargoth smirked. “That's quite true. Let us hope that once you put the Felle into the ground, they decide to stay there.”

A chill ran up Elias's spine, and he wondered. Was it Darius Tessermyre that was raising the army of the dead to bolster his forces before attacking Lonwick? The knight did serve the Felle, and had mentioned using the power of the Abyss to destroy Elias if he couldn't do so directly. He had used the same sort of magic that Drakhus had used, but differently. If he was powerful enough to raise fallen warriors from their graves and compel them to fight again, was Elias truly strong enough to face him, let alone kill him?

Elias pushed the doubt from his mind. It made no difference. In the end, killing the dark knight that brought ruin to the Greenreef islands and murdered Coral was his only purpose. Every other task was merely a rung on that ladder. Elias would find Tessermyre, he would fight him, and he would kill him. After that, well, who knew?

Elias bid the dragon farewell and headed for the decimated gate of Valtheim. He needed to gather his forces together. It was time to move again, south this time. Lonwick and the Felle waited for them.
