Jax grunted, but didn’t reply.
“I think he might actually have the guts to ask me to be his girlfriend tonight,” I added with a smug expression, and faked a dreamy sigh at the end.
“LIKE HELL!” Cole roared. “If we haven’t met the bloke, there is no chance of this boyfriend talk.”
“Fine, come then, and meet him. Oh wait, you guys don’t wear suits. Bugger, out of luck then,” I chirped as I placed a hand on my hip. “Now move Cole.”
“Why would you willingly go to something of dad’s,” Tyler asked, looking at me suspiciously. “Unless you are getting something out of it.” He narrowed his eyes, looking at me closely for a few moments. “Ok, spill it Amber, what has he promised you?”
“NOTHING!” I threw my hands up in the air. “And Cole, stop putting marks on my car!” I slapped his arm, which was leaning on my car.
My phone buzzed in my purse and I shot the guys a dirty look, and they all suddenly went quiet. Did they know what personal space was?
“Hello?” I sighed into the phone, frustrated.
“Amber, you’re running late,” My dad said.
“It’s not my fault, the boys won’t let me leave.” I shot them a smug look.
“Tell them you’d better be here in five minutes, or they will all know what it is like to ride a push bike,” dad said in a lowered voice, most likely preventing people around him from hearing his threat.
“I’ll pass the message on dad,” I said as I smiled out at the boys, who all rolled their eyes.
“Five minutes,” he stressed.
I hung up. “Dad said...”
“Don’t bother threatening us,” Cole snapped, and then pushed away from my car completely. “Fine. Have a nice night.”
“I will,” I said, opening the door and ignoring the death stares from my brothers. “I’ll tell Mark you guys want to meet him.”
I closed the door smugly, blocking out their low threats.
Turning the key and bringing the car to life, I smiled slyly as I pulled out of the garage.
Mission one complete - making sure Jax knew there was competition. Now, just to make him man up to his feelings; I hoped a bit of jealousy would push this along.
I glanced in the rear view mirror and noticed Jax throw a spanner across the room.
Success.

“Thanks for yesterday Mark!” I smiled at him as we walked up the school corridor. “Really, you made the night not boring.”
“Us secret millionaires need to stick together,” he said, winking at me.
When dad had introduced me to his business partner’s son, you could imagine Mark and my shock when we realized we’d been connected this whole time. Mark’s dad placed him in this hell called public school because Mark hadn’t made an effort at any of the private schools.
Mark and I had that in common.
“So, you going to come watch the game tonight?” Mark asked.
“Nah, I don’t do school events.” I smiled. A locker slam jolted us from our conversation, and we both glanced in the direction. Jax didn’t even give me a second look as he stormed away from his locker.
“Well, I’ll see you at lunch,” Mark said politely, and I noticed his eyes trail off in the direction of Linda as she walked past us.
“Right,” I smirked. “Bye Mark.”
I turned the corner and looked over bobbing heads, looking for Jax. Why was he taking so long to man up? I thought he would’ve said something last night when I got home, but he didn’t.
Troy had taken me to school that morning; Jax had already left.
And what annoyed me more was the pleasant smile on Cole’s face when he noticed Jax giving me the cold shoulder.
Jogging down the stairs, I entered the canteen and spotted Jax sitting on a bench with his friends; they could be known as his sheep.
I just wanted to go up to him and slap him across his face and tell him to grow a pair.
“Amber?”
I spun around and smiled politely at Rachel. Well, look who it was; my somewhat friend.
“Rachel, how have you been?” I asked as we fell in step with each other.
“Yeah, normal. Hey, I was wondering if you are keen on some drinks at the beach tonight?”
I hadn’t talked to her in weeks, maybe longer, and she was inviting me out?
“I can’t, sorry. Got plans.”
“Right.” Rachel rolled her eyes. “Sure you do.”
“I do,” I snapped, annoyed. “Look I got to go. Bye.” I brushed her off and quickly turned around, now walking in the opposite direction. I didn’t want to hang out with her.
I glanced at Jax, who looked at me, bored. Maybe that was what I did for him now; maybe I was just a bore.
I groaned and pushed the canteen door open; all I wanted was to have him admit he wanted me! Why was that so hard for him to do?

I ran my fingers under my t-shirt, outlining the scar on my stomach. This had become a habit of mine. I dropped my head to the side and looked out the bay window, watching the storm roll through. The rain was heavy on the roof, and the cracks of thunder kept making the lights flicker.
I knew any minute now the lights would go out, and I would be stuck in darkness. I watched another streak of lighting across the sky. I turned my head back and stared up at the ceiling, lying on my back in the sitting room.
The room was like another lounge room, apart from the fact that it overlooked the gardens. The lights flickered again and, this time, they went out. The room fell into darkness and the only light that entered the room now, was from the lighting.
Home alone in a storm; well tonight was just looking great, wasn’t it? I pulled my t-shirt up a little higher and kept running a finger down each line.
It was late and everyone had better things to do than be home tonight. Well, everyone but me. I didn’t want to beg Tyler to stay home but when I saw the storm warnings on TV, I knew I should have.
“AMBER?”
I sat up straight “JAX?”
I narrowed my eyes, trying to make out the figure that had just pushed the door open.
“Are you ok?” Jax’s voice was laced with panic.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” I crossed my legs, watching Jax’s chest rise heavily. He pushed the wet hair from his forehead.
“You didn’t answer your phone,” he said, his breathing settling slightly.
“I lost signal.” I rubbed the back of my neck. “Sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” Jax muttered, and then pulled his patch off, and peeled the wet jumper under it off. “Fuck, it’s awful out there.”
“Did you ride in this?” I frowned. “Are you crazy?”
Jax shrugged his shoulders and pulled the wet t-shirt off, now standing there bare-chested. He unclipped the gun holster from around him and placed it on his wet clothes. Walking across the room, the dark blue light that flashed across the room highlighted his scars and chest tattoos.
I inhaled slowly as he lowered himself to his knees in front of me, his eyes solid as they locked with mine. He placed a hand on my waist; I saw the way he waited for my reaction.
“You could get sick,” I stuttered, and ran a finger down his icy cold chest. “You shouldn’t have ridden in this weather.”
Another loud crack of thunder roared overhead.
“Amber, I would ride through worse to make sure you were OK.” He gripped my hand, which was on his chest. “I can’t take this anymore.”
My head leaned back, just slightly, as I saw the lust in his eyes.
“Do you know how hard it was for me to let you go out last night, looking as hot as you did?” he said, smirking, and I shamelessly blushed.
“Be my girlfriend,” he whispered down at me, while bringing his face closer to mine. “Please?”
I placed my other hand on the base of his neck. I felt his chest rising heavily under my other hand, pinned to his chest.
“Yes,” I whispered.
/>
I didn’t need to think of my answer, so when the word flowed from my lips, I wasn’t surprised.
His head dove down and he claimed my lips. He kissed me hungrily and I caved. His hand dropped mine and went around and gripped my waist, pulling me tighter into his cold chest.
Finally he’d stepped up, I thought to myself, as my lips broke into a soft smirk through the kiss.
Chapter 25
Jax’s hand ran down my back, and I curled more into his chest. The rain drummed down on the roof, deafening in the room. Jax’s hot lips slowly worked a pattern down my neck, his fingers softly running under my t-shirt up my back, causing my skin to shiver with desire.
His hands ran further up my back, his cold hand pulling me closer into him. “Don’t tease,” I stuttered, as he sucked the base of my neck. I ran my fingers up his bare chest, and then slung both my hands around his neck.
Lightning flashed through the room, and another rumble of thunder roared overhead. “Do you want to take this upstairs?” His words were broken as he continued to kiss up my neck. He pulled his head away and the smirk on his face made my pulse race with passion.
Tracing a finger down his tight jaw, I asked, “Are the guys coming home?” As I spoke, I felt my chest rise against his.
He shook his head slightly, and I felt his hands grip the hem of my t-shirt. My hands slowly crept down his strong tight chest, pausing on his defined abs. My head tilted up, our lips dangerously close.
I smirked slightly, as I let my hand drop from his abs and brush across his crotch. A low growl escaped his lips, and his hands quickly yanked my t-shirt off over my head. Threading my arms out of it, as soon as the t-shirt landed on the ground, Jax wrapped his arms around me and clenched me to his chest.
“Upstairs, downstairs?” he asked, his voice thick.
“Impatient?” I smirked.
His lips drove forward and claimed mine. His tongue flicked mine and I gripped each of his shoulders. My lace bra brushed across his chest, and I was thankful his eyes were locked with mine. I gripped his shoulders and kept his lips against mine; when he attempted to pull away, I tightened my grip and kept his lips pressed to mine.
His hand brushed across my stomach, and I quickly planted my hand on his and guided it back to my hip. His lips broke from mine quickly, and I didn’t have a chance to try and keep them there.
“What’s wrong?” his voice was thick, and my eyes floated to his tan chest; I just couldn’t keep my eyes level with his.
“Nothing, I’m fine.” I placed my hand on his belt. Jax grabbed both of my wrists and holding them, pulled my hands away.
“Look at me,” he instructed.
Sighing, I looked up into his eyes and my head tilted to the side slightly. “I’m fine,” I stressed.
He wasn’t buying it. He let go of one of my wrists. Slowly, he placed a hand on my side, his eyes watching my reaction. Gently, his hands crept further towards my stomach. Gulping, I put my hand down to push his away, but he pulled his hand away quickly.
Placing a hand on my back, he pushed me back gently into the carpet, holding both of my hands up above my head; his thick hand trapped both of my wrists up.
“What are you doing?” I frowned, as he leaned on his side beside me. “Jax, look at me.”
But he didn’t. His eyes were raking my stomach. I watched as his eyes trailed up and down the scar, the scar that I was embarrassed to show anyone, but here I lay on display, for him.
“You’re ashamed of it,” he mumbled and his finger reached out to trace it. I wiggled under his grasp, trying to stop him. “Stop that,” he said, and slapped my stomach lightly.
“Then stop touching it,” I snapped. “You don’t have to.”
He lowered his head to my stomach, threw a leg over my waist and straddled me. Slowly, he lowered his mouth to the base of one of my scar lines. He kissed it, before he slowly traced his tongue up the line and then did the same on the other side.
“I’m sorry,” I sighed. I wanted to touch him, but my wrists were still held under his hand. “I know seeing that mark isn’t exactly a turn on.”
“This scar…” Jax pulled up and kneeled, his hand brushed across a faded thick scar line on his hip. “Your brother gave me this, and Cole doesn’t let me forget it.” He grunted. “This one,” he turned slightly and I saw the long line down his side. “Pub fight,” he added, “And the ones on my back, well it comes with the club I guess.”
“Yours are scars, not marks.”
“You wear the scars, Amber, don’t let the scars wear you.” He lowered his head back to my flat stomach and placed a soft kiss in the middle. “Don’t shy away from me again.”
“But…”
“But nothing!” He arched an eyebrow at me. “Now shut up… girlfriend.”
I chuckled and couldn’t stop grinning. “I think I like the sound of that.”
Letting go of my wrists, his hands went to work on my body. He slowly kissed along the waist band of my shorts, and I felt his fingers slowly undo the bow.
Slowly, he pulled my shorts down. The smirk on his defined jawline only made me want to drive my lips back to his red, moist mouth.
He dragged my black panties down my thighs, his eyes full of admiration. I reached forward, undid his belt, and pushed his jeans down his hips.
“Impatient babe?” Jax smirked, while he unclipped my bra, and slowly pulled the straps down my arms. He hurled it to the side.
And then he looked down at me with an expression I had never seen on a man’s face before. Blake didn’t even look at me the way Jax was looking at me right now.
I frowned “What’s with the look?” I couldn’t stop myself from asking.
“You’re beautiful Amber.” The words just spilled out of his mouth.
My frown hardened. “No I’m not.” I knew I didn’t even come close to the women he was used too. He was used to models and pornstars. And I was, well, just me - a scarred and tattooed wreck.
His expression tightened. “You are.” And he lowered his lips to mine. “And now, completely mine.”
Just as he said that, he thrust into me, making a gasp escape my lips. As if he was proving to the world that I was his now, and his alone.
Jax never claimed any woman, but, right now, as he took me, I had a strong feeling he was making a point to me; that I was his.
“God, you’re tight,” he groaned in my ear as he pulled back and then thrust again.
“What’s that meant to mean?” I gasped, my nails accidentally digging into his back tattoos, as he thrust deeper into me.
“Nothing,” he muttered in my ear, and his hands gripped my lower waist and threaded my legs around his waist. He pulled me from the ground; he moved inside me, causing me to bite my tongue. “Don’t hold it back babe,” he chuckled in my ear, and I pulled back slightly to see his smirk.
“Where are we going?” I gritted my teeth as he pushed up inside me; he began to walk up the stair case.
Jax nibbled the base of my earlobe. “Don’t worry babe, I’ll take care of you soon.”
“You could be taking care of me now.”
“What if your dad comes home suddenly,” Jax grinned at me. “You really want him to see you like this?”
“Then why didn’t you wait to take my clothes off? Or, for that matter, to start the job?” I arched an eyebrow and gripped him slightly tighter as he balanced me with one hand and opened the door with the other.
“I didn’t think of it before.”
Jax kissed my neck as he kicked the door closed behind him. I gasped again as he flexed inside me again. “God, you’re tight,” he muttered.
“Again! What is that meant to mean?” I kissed his shoulder, and slowly he lowered me to the bed.
“Later.”
Jax moved me back into the middle of his unmade bed.
He looked at me again with that expression I didn’t understand, and then he smirked.
“What?” I said.
He
shrugged, “This is how I’ve wanted you for a long time now.” He kissed the mark on my neck and pulled back. “Naked, and in my bed.”
I arched an eyebrow at him. “Well, it took you long enough to make a move.” My hands ran over his toned shoulders. I sighed. “Seriously, what took you so long?”
He was still inside me; I could feel him and I knew if he thrust into me, my question would remain unanswered.
His eyes locked with mine and, like always, when I stared into his eyes, I found myself losing my breath.
“Reasons and opinions of others,” he said calmly, and his eyes ran down my naked body. “None of which matter anymore.”
“Why? Because you finally got what you wanted?”
“Amber, if you think one night with you is all I want, then you’re wrong.” He thrust into me, causing me to gasp again. “I’ve never had a girlfriend before, but I want you to know now, sex is an every night thing.”
I laughed. “Seriously? What about my brothers? ”
“We live in the same house and our rooms are directly across from each other. I think we will manage the late nights.”
“Sneaking around, hey?” I went up on my elbows, smiling like an idiot. “What other expectations do you have of a girlfriend?” I was interested now. A part of me dying to know, while the other half was scared I wouldn’t measure up.
His lips went to the top of my breast and he kissed me. “Whenever we are alone, I want you on me, sitting in my lap.” He pulled out and thrust into me again, this time causing me to fall down to the bed, my elbows buckling. “I want you always ready for me at night, expecting me.”
A moan left my lips as he took my nipple in his mouth. God, I’d told him not to tease me! I was so turned on right now, that what he was saying wasn’t really hitting me.
He pulled out and thrust into me with more power. “I want you willing to get naked in a second for me. And I want to shower with you. You, naked and soapy, has been one of my fantasies. In fact, no showering without me.”
I was already smiling, “Is this showering thing going to be an everyday type of thing, like sex?”
He ran his tongue down my jaw. “Sex in the shower is fine with me.”
Suddenly, I was looking forward to showers. Actually, I was going to look forward to when night came. Sneaking around wasn’t something I would normally do. I was blunt and direct but if it meant I had a relationship with Jax, then I would do it gladly.
