Blood Dreams 03 Endless Night

“I love you, Blue. If you insist on going into that corridor, I shall follow you. From this point on, we are joined. I’ll want to marry you, but I will respect your choice.”
Blue pulled tissues from her pocket and pressed them to the small wound she’d made on his chest.
Simon watched her tender nursing ministrations, but was unable to gauge her thoughts or feelings. He was surprised when she kissed him lightly, on his mouth.
“I know what I’m doing, Simon. Believe me, I’ve thought about this for a very long time. Years, in fact. Late at night, all alone in my bed, I would often wonder what it might be like.”
Shaking his head, Simon caressed her cheek lightly with the backs of his fingers. “The vampire hunter pretended to be a vampire?”
Blue shook her head, laughing softly. “No, Simon. I imagined how it might be to love you, and be with you, and have the whole world know it. The same crazy dreams that any woman might have. I love you.”
Simon pulled her tight to his chest, hugging her tightly. “Will you still want me once your father and uncle beat the shit out of me?”
“You need not worry. I’m sure my mother and my aunt will stop them before it gets too bad.”
Simon choked back his laughter. “You minx! You’d probably stand there smiling until they got a few good punches in.”
Blue pushed back in his arms, and shook her head. “No, I want to keep you in tiptop condition. Once we have Taryn back, we will have a lot of time to make up for.”
“Let’s wait until we talk to Jordan about who is the best person to go after Taryn. I want to get her back also, but we need to be careful not to upset things further. Maybe Darien is the right one to send through.”
“Okay,” Blue answered.
He heard the reluctance in her tone. “Now, my pretty hunter, I’d like to show you something,” Simon told her softly, his hands already pulling at her clothes. Only when he had her stripped naked and lying on his bed did he gently push her thighs apart. With his hands resting on her thighs, he began caressing her in small circles.
Blue was quivering in desire even as she shook her head. “I don’t think there is enough time for this, Simon.” She felt his hands pause for a moment, and she wondered if he could feel the quivering in her muscles.
“There’s always time, my sweet,” Simon told her quietly, even as his fingers slid inwards and upwards towards her wet pussy.
Blue gasped as Simon’s fingers slid across her engorged pussy lips. She felt so hot, and so wet. Blue licked her lips as her mouth opened and she started to pant when his one finger slipped between the folds, edging forward. Dear God!
Simon’s finger wiggled around a little, testing different spots, trying a few variations in pressure. Light circles worked well until Blue felt like she was nearly there… ready to climax, and Simon quickly changed his pattern. Slowly, she slid back down the hill, landing at the bottom like a wet sack of limp noodles. Each time he took her a little higher. Finally, she felt him pulling away and reached for him frantically.
“Patience, little one,” Simon murmured as he slid down.
Blue screamed as Simon’s tongue replaced his finger. No more thinking or awareness on that level. Now, she only felt the physical climax that shook her from head to toe. She came hard, and Simon’s hands cupped her buttocks as she shook all over on the path to her release.
For long moments, Blue was only aware of the amazing explosion going on at the core of her body. It was more than an explosion, she realized on a strange level of separation. She was feeling explosions—wild, colorful and dazzling flashes of physical sensations. Slowly, she was aware of other things happening.
Above her she saw the sky, tinted by the special glass. She had no way of knowing how much time had passed. The heat of Simon’s body was intoxicating, and mind numbing. Time spent like this was beyond what she’d ever imagined.
A few moments later, she felt Simon shifting her slightly, and then he was pulling her close, just holding her in his arms. Soon he was kissing her forehead, murmuring to her quietly.
“I love you, Blue Dampier. Will you marry me? I can’t say that I know for sure how we will make this work, but I’m going to try harder than I ever have before. I’ve waited a long time for you to grow up, while some might argue those years were much fewer than what I’ve spent on this Earth. The truth, Blue, is that from the moment I knew I loved you, time has dragged almost interminably. I hope you will believe me, but since then, I have waited… for you.”
Blue heard his words, but a few seconds passed before she knew what he meant. Pushing away from him slightly, she met his gaze. “You mean—” Her voice broke, unable to say the actual words.
Simon smiled, gently stroking the backs of his fingers down the side of her face. “My sex life rivaled that of the loneliest of monks, my love.”
Blue laughed, she couldn’t help it. “My celibate Count?”
“Yeah. My hand and thoughts of you were my only solace.” Simon laughed, shrugging.
It took her a moment and then Blue felt her cheeks flushing hotly as she realized what Simon was telling her.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I shouldn’t have been quite so blatant in my honesty.”
“Simon, please, always be honest with me. That is what I want, for us to be open with each other. I love you.” She kissed him lightly, quickly. She lowered her head to lie beside him on the bed. “I can’t help but feel guilty at being so happy when I don’t know what has happened to Taryn.”
“I understand, my love. But you’ve seen Darien and Dargon, and they both traveled back and forth along the corridor a number of times. I’m sure Taryn is fine. We just have to go and get her back.”
“You make it sound easy,” Blue whispered.
“Perhaps not easy, but certainly it can, and will, be done. Before you know it, she’ll be home and walking down the aisle as your maid of honor.”
Blue pushed away from Simon. “You want a big wedding?”
“We will have whatever you want, darling. Big, little… I don’t care so long as you are my bride-to-be. We can even fly to Vegas if you prefer.”
Blue sniffed back her tears. “I love you.”
“And I love you, Blue.” His hand stroked lovingly across her hair.
Blue lowered her lips to his, kissing him lightly. “I’d love to stay here, we probably need to get going. I don’t want Jordan to face them alone.”
“I know, sweetheart, but I don’t think Jordan will be alone.”
Blue went to sit up, but stopped at Simon’s tone of voice, rather than his words. “I know that Chey was going to stay while Pete went to the airport.”
Simon came to his feet, grabbing his trousers and stepping into them.
Blue questioned him. “That’s not what you meant though, is it?” She watched as Simon fastened his pants, before he came down on one knee in front of her.
“No, Blue, that’s not what I meant. I’ve only met Jordan once as an adult, but I do know my sons. They might argue as all children do that their parents don’t really know them, or understand who they are, but I do know Darien is gay. I have waited and wondered if he’ll ever choose to tell me outright, but I’m not blind.”
Blue nodded her head, not sure why Simon was telling her this now. Shrugging, she nodded as she spoke, “Okay, well I can accept that one son is gay.” She stopped smiling though as she saw the look on Simon’s face. “What are you trying to tell me?”
Simon shook his head. “Blue, thank you. But I think I should probably wait, at least until we take care of this problem. Let’s just take this one day, one hour and one crisis at a time.”
Reluctantly, Blue nodded. She knew there was something else, but Simon was right. They needed to take care of getting Taryn back first. “All right, Simon. With you, I believe I can face anything.” She leaned forward to kiss Simon’s lips lightly.
A smile curved Simon’s mouth upwards on one side. “Your dad won’t be happy about t
his.”
“True, but I’m hoping he’ll be distracted by Taryn’s disappearance. Yet outweighing that will be his pleasure over our discovering the solution to the shift towards night.”
“Hmm, okay, honey. But I think I’ll stand behind you.”
Blue shook her head. “I know you better than that. You will probably push me aside to take the heat. What I need is for you to stand beside me.” Even as she spoke the words, she knew he might take it as an ultimatum. But she also knew that, in a way, it was. As a hunter, she needed a partner, even if he was a vampire.
“All the way, Blue. I’ll be glued to your side. Except for those times when I’m on top of you, or behind you, or—”
Simon stopped as Blue covered his mouth with hers. She murmured between kisses, “Silly!”
“Only with you, my lovely Blue. Only with you.”
