Protecting Siena

Page 13

by K. Renee

I hear the fucker up front swear under his breath, and I shrug my shoulders at him. “The boss isn’t going to be happy when we finally get there.” What he doesn’t know is, I don’t give a fuck. The fucker that is now bleeding out all over the seat was talking about my girl. I don’t give a fuck who he is, nor do I care when it comes to her.

“You think you’re so fucking good at what you do?” The guy from up front asks.

“I know I’m that fucking good.” Sometimes you just have to make them believe that you’re even more of a bad ass than you really are. I just want to end this shit and get home to my girl.

“That little bitch have your bastard child yet?” Before I can do anything to him for his stupid comment, we come to a stop at the Monroe residence, and my door is opened. The fucker smirks at me, and I think about putting him down like the fucking dog he is, but I don’t. Instead, I put my index finger and thumb up, and act like I’m going to shoot him. He has no clue how true that is.

  I can’t fucking wait.

Gully is the one leading me up to Xavier’s office, and I can feel eyes on me as I walk. “He’s going to kill you.” He mutters in my ear.

“I ain’t fucking scared of him, or his little bitch Tony.” I spit out.

Gully shakes his head and I can tell he isn’t the same guy I trained. He has broader shoulders, and looks ready to pull a gun on anyone that tries to fuck with him. “How are they?” He finally asks taking his sweet ass time leading me up the stairs.

“She’s good. Pregnant as all hell, but good.” I grin at the thought of Siena wearing my tee shirts and no panties.

“When is she due?” He looks over at me and we stop in the hall way.

“Next month.” He shakes his head at my answer, and I already know what he’s going to say.

“Why the fuck did you come back? They had no fucking clue where you were. She’s going to give birth to your child in a few weeks, and instead you’re fucking here getting ready to be served up to have a bullet put in your skull. How could you do that to her?”

Turning towards him, I put my hand on his throat and push him up against the wall. “Don’t ever fucking question my loyalty to her. I’m fucking doing this for them. If I don’t fucking end this shit now, what kind of life am I giving to them?” I loosen my grip when his hand comes to my forearm.

He never once says a thing when my hand is on his throat. “You plan on getting out of this?” He finally asks.

“Yeah, I have a baby being born in a few weeks. There is no fucking way I’m missing that.” I gently pat his cheek and he shakes his head at me.

“You’re fucking stupid.” He grounds out, and turns away, running his hand down his face. “I can’t believe your risking all that to deal with her father. Do you even know who you shot in the fucking SUV?”

I shake my head no and take a few steps back. I already know that he’s going to tell me, so I might as well just stay silent. “You shot his fucking partner’s son.”

“I don’t give a fuck. He was running his mouth about fucking my girl. There is no way in hell that she fucked him.” He shakes his head, but doesn’t say anything. The door to the office opens and I see Xavier walk out. Gully pushes me forward, and I know he’s only doing it to save his own neck, which I’m fine with. I didn’t want him to be part of my plans, anyway. He’s a good kid and I hate that I was the one that brought him into this life.

He would have been a good guy if I didn’t train him to be lethal. I’ve done a lot of bad shit for Xavier since I’ve met him, but I don’t regret a day of it. If I never met him, I would have never fallen in love with his daughter, and we wouldn’t be on the cusp of becoming parents.

He’s given me a lot, but he’s also taken a lot from me. He’s taken my freedom, my friends, and almost my girl and child. He has no fucking clue how much I want to put a bullet in his head right now. But I keep my anger masked, and I wait for him to say something.

Judging by the dark eyes that are burning a hole in the side of my face, saying Xavier is pissed is an understatement. “Where is my daughter?” His tone is lethal and I’m sure he wants to come at me, but he knows better. He’ll probably have his lackeys do it for him. He may scare a lot of fucking people, but he doesn’t scare me.

  “You’ll never find her.”

He walks straight to me and wraps his hand around my throat; he doesn’t squeeze, and I’m actually surprised. He must not see me as a threat. “If you don’t tell me where she is, I’ll kill your parents.” His voice is low and steady, but what he apparently doesn’t know about me, is that I couldn’t care less what happens to them.

“You will never find her.” I state again. His fingers start to tighten around my neck, and I wait for it to get uncomfortable before I do anything. He thinks that he can beat me, but he doesn’t know that I would kill for the -- that I would die for them. He has no fucking idea how I feel about his daughter.

Heavy footsteps come up the stairs and I see a smirk on Xavier’s face as he sees who it is. “Well look who’s back.” I’d recognize his voice anywhere. He kicks me in the back on the leg and I fall forward onto the ground.

Letting them think they have the upper hand on me, I know that I have to wait for the right moment to strike. “That bitch finally throw your ass to the curb?” he chuckles.

“Nah, you jealous?” I ask as I turn and look up at him. He lands a kick to my side and I let out an ‘oomph.’ Gasping out a breath, I focus on staying in control. If I’ve learned anything during my shitty upbringing, it’s how to fight.

When Tony tries to kick me again, I grab his foot and twist it quickly, and roughly until I hear a snap. He screams out in pain, falling to the ground and grabbing his ankle. Getting off the ground, I turn my attention to Xavier, and I see the grin on his face.

“And here I thought you were getting soft by running away with my daughter.” His grin is anything but friendly. “Salvador, get Tony to the ER. I’m tired of his bitching.” He yells. Someone comes running up the stairs, and when I see Salvador, his eyes widen and he looks like he’s seen a ghost.

“Your reputation precedes you my boy. Maybe I should have just let this shit with my daughter go, and made you my next in command.” Tony starts to bitch and complain to Xavier from the ground, and he silences him quickly.

I watch as Xavier walks over to him, put his foot on Tony’s ankle and start to apply pressure. Tony takes the pain, but he looks like he’s about to pass out. Xavier pulls away, puts his hand on the back of my neck, and leads me into his office.

He pushes me into a seat across from him and walks around the big oak desk to take a seat in his leather chair. He watches me for a few minutes before he even says a word. I don’t change my expression at all, I just wait. Thinking about Siena, I just pray that they don’t trace her back to the hiding place.

“Where is she?” He all but growls at me.

“I’ll never fucking tell you.” I bite back. He gives me a dirty look, and I just sit back in my chair.

“You would take a bullet for her?”

  “I would die for her.”

He sits back for a second, and I can see his mind working. It’s almost like he’s trying to decide if he should kill me or not. I would rather the not, but I’m not holding my breath. The door opens behind us, and I watch as he looks up at who is coming in. The sound of heels clicking on the hardwood let me know exactly who it is.

A hand runs across my shoulders and she comes to sit in my lap. I all but push her off of me, and she turns to Xavier and pouts. “Sweetheart.” Xavier doesn’t say anything for a few moments, but then he grins.

“You have two choices,” he pauses, and I raise an eyebrow at him. Judging by the look on his face, I know I’m not going to like the first choice.

“You either fuck my wife right here, right now, or you take that bullet I’ve been dying to give you.” Melinda gets a wide grin on her face, turns to me expectantly. I’ve never once touched the bitch for th
e duration of my time here. She pranced around here like a bitch in heat, and was pissed when I still didn’t stick my dick in her.

The only pussy I’ve ever wanted to be buried deep inside is Siena’s, and I made sure that I fucked her a lot. I can feel my dick rising just at the thought of my girl, and I see Melinda’s face beam. She thinks my hard on is for her, but little does she know that the only pussy that gets me hard anymore is Siena’s.

Melinda reaches down to feel me up through my jeans and I push her away again. “Bitch, I couldn’t get hard to fuck you if I wanted to.” She gasps and puts her hand to her chest like I’ve insulted her. She doesn’t really care, she just wants to be able to rub in Siena’s face that she fucked me, too, but I won’t let that happen.

“You’re hard right now, Sloane,” she all but purrs. She runs her fingers down my arm, and I get up and push her away from me.

“My dick is only hard because I was just thinking about how I fucked your daughter every night right under your damn noses.” The hand that connects with my check leaves a stinging sensation, but not enough for me to hurt the dumb bitch over. I know her game, and I’ll never let her have a piece of me.

She takes a seat on the edge of Xavier’s desk and spreads her legs so I can see her pussy. Yeah, the bitch isn’t wearing any panties, and as much as I love pussy, this one isn’t doing shit for me. She starts to rub herself, and I look over her shoulder at Xavier. Not once do I pay her any attention.

When she finally realizes that I’m never going to touch her, she huffs out and gets off the desk. What’s fucking sad is that her parents don’t even fucking care where she is other than to bring her back to marry Tony’s stupid fucking ass. Not once have they asked if the baby was okay, or when she’s due.

“So are you going to give up her location yet, or do we need to torture it out of you.” He barks out. He’s getting pissed, and typically that’s when people make the most mistakes.

“No. You can do whatever you want to me, but I’ll never tell you where she is. You guys don’t give a fuck about her or our child, so there is no way I’ll let you near either of them.” Xavier stalks towards me and punches me in the jaw as hard as he can.

I have to admit, he hits harder than I thought he would. Spitting some blood out on his expensive loafers, I just look back up at him and wait. He tells Melinda to leave, and she frowns. Before she leaves, she cups my dick, and I look her in the eyes and whisper just loud enough for only her to hear. “I had your daughter screaming my name last night. She loves when I fuck her rough and hard.”

She pulls away and shoots me a look – and if looks could kill, I’d have laid down and died. That is, of course, if I was at all afraid her that bitch, or her fuckin’ old man. Melinda doesn’t say anything; she just walks out the door and slams it behind her.

Turning my attention back to Xavier, I can see a smirk forming on his lips. “I remember why I liked you, son.”

I raise an eyebrow at him. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t for pissing off his wife, or fucking his daughter, so I’m at a loss of reasons he would like me right now. I’ve gone against his orders more than once, and now I’m hiding his daughter from him.

“And why the fuck is that?”

“Because you fight for what you want. You don’t let me, or my wife, stop you from wanting my daughter. You’ve protected her all this time, and I admire that. Maybe I was wrong.” I’m pretty sure I’m in the damn Twilight Zone. What the fuck is he talking about?

  “Wrong?” I question.

“Yeah, I might have been wrong to try and keep you two apart. You did what you wanted, even knowing that you would have been shot for touching her again.” He walks over to the chair and takes a seat again. “I have a proposition for you.” He steeples his fingers together in front of his face, and I wait. I don’t want to give away too much. I’m sure he can see my mind working on trying to figure out his end game.

“You want to marry her?” He asks. I don’t answer, but he seems to already know the answer. I’m still not sold on the marriage thing, but I know that it’s what she wants, and I would give her the world if I could.

“I won’t kill you if you join my business and marry her. You both will be protected, and you will serve as my right hand. You will take Tony’s place, and all of your sins against my family and I will be forgotten.”

I feel in my veins that this might be a trap. He wouldn’t just let the shit that has gone down go without another thought. I know there is something else that he isn’t telling me. I can’t risk either of them.

Sitting up, I reach forward to shake his hand, and I see the gleam in his eye. He looks way too happy about it. Instead of shaking his hand, I grab the gun sitting on the desk and point it right at his head. He doesn’t even look surprised.

“I had a feeling that you knew I was blowing smoke up your ass. You’re not going to make it out of here alive. I was hoping that you would have just accepted my offer. I would’ve put a bullet in your head, and you would have lost the only important things to you. She will come back home when she finds out you’re dead. Siena isn’t the type of girl to do well on her own without the type of money I can provide her.” He’s a smug bastard, and my finger is itching to pull the trigger.

“She won’t come back.” I state. The anger takes over his face and he goes to grab something, and I pull the trigger. The bang of the gun echoes through the room, and I hear boots storming up the staircase. Turning in the chair, I point the gun at the door and wait for someone to come in.

The knob turns slowly and I see Gully walk through first. His eyes land on Xavier, and he looks back at me. “Fuck.” He mutters. More people start to come towards the room and Gully turns, and starts to fire, too. We take out all five men, and he motions for me to follow him.

We make it down the stairs without anyone else coming after us. I don’t see Melinda anywhere, but I don’t really care if she makes it out of here alive or not. When we get outside, I see a few more of Xavier’s men running up the drive way. I take a bullet to the shoulder, but manage to take two of them out. Gully takes the others out, and I grab my shoulder to stop the bleeding as best as I can.

“You good?” He asks as we run down the driveway to where one of the SUV’s is parked. Getting in, he starts the engine, and we get the fuck out of there.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” Looking over at him, I can see that he is amped up. “Thank you, Gully.” He shrugs it off, and I’m so thankful that he was the one that showed up first.

“I’m only doing it because you both deserve to live without looking over your shoulders the rest of your lives.” I sit back and watch as the car takes us towards the highway. Watching the buildings and scenery fly by, I can’t help but think that we are finally free of her family. Shutting my eyes, I tell him to hit the highway, and take us towards California.

I’m not exactly sure why Xavier didn’t try to take me out, but I’m kind of glad he didn’t. I don’t regret shooting him, but I know that this probably isn’t the end. At least we can disappear and Tony will never be able to find us.

Hopefully taking out Xavier will ensure that they don’t come looking for us.

Once we left Vegas, we bought a small commuter car to get us to California. Gully had to do all the talking because I was still bleeding a little, and I’m sure I would have freaked the couple out. We paid cash and hit the highway as soon as we could.

Taking a sip of water, I tell Gully the rest of the directions to the town that Siena and I were hiding out in.

When we finally get there, I tell him to take me to the diner, and I hurry inside. Siena isn’t here, as part of our plan, but I need to get my shoulder looked at. Seeing Sally, I make my way to the counter, and her eyes widen.

“Slade!” She gasps, and hurries over to me. She looks behind me at Gully, and I tell her that he’s good. She ushers us to the back and I take a seat in the office. “I’ll get the doctor. Where is Finley? We haven’t seen her in a while.” I g
rimace when she puts pressure on my wound, and I close my eyes.

“She’s somewhere safe.” I grit out when the pain gets to be way too much.

“I’ll be back.” She exclaims, as she runs out the door. I don’t even bother saying anything. When Gully looks at me, he shakes his head and looks around the place.

“Slade and Finley?” I nod, but don’t say anything. “Can you really thrust these people?” He asks this time.

“Yeah, they’ve helped us out when we needed it. Sally has been amazing with Siena, and she has helped more than you know.” He nods his head and takes a seat on the other chair.

“Do you think they are going to come after us?” He asks. He puts his head in his hands, and I can only imagine what he’s thinking right now. I know exactly how he’s feeling. I had the same fears when Siena and I first got here. Right now, I just want to get fixed up so I can go get my girl.

“Only if they can find us.” I murmur as the door opens and the town’s doctor comes into the room. He grins at me, and I stand up to shake his hand. “Hey, doc.” I greet.

“Where is your pretty little wife? She’s due soon.” He gives me a knowing look, but he doesn’t say anything else.

“I’m going to get her after this. I had to make sure she stayed safe.” The doctor got the information out of us one day while we were in his office. He had asked some questions about our families, and at first we didn’t give him anything. He went on about how important the information was, and Siena spilled a little too much. He promised to keep our identities a secret, and I’ve trusted him ever since. He’s more like a father to Siena than Xavier ever was.

“Looks like you got into a nasty fight with a gun.” He raises an eyebrow, at me and I just grin.

“You got to do what you go to do when it comes to your family.” I bite out as he uses tweezers to extract the bullet.

He digs a little bit more, and I swear under my breath. He starts to chuckle and I bite the inside of my cheek to take my mind off the pain in my shoulder. Once he gets the bullet out and stitches it closed, he puts it in a little container, and hands it to me. “You’re lucky it wasn’t over a few more millimeters.” I thank him for helping me out as I get up and Sally hands me a shot of what looks like whiskey.
