Checkmate 2: Let the Games Begin

“Well, good morning Candy. I’m glad to see that y’all are so into each other like this, but please go in the room with all that.” She smiled, teasing Candy.
“I’m sorry Mrs. Cat.” Candy straightened up her blouse. I was just telling Monty that I’m heading over to the school this morning to sign up for the cosmetology classes.” Catherine shook her head in agreement.
“I think that’s wonderful, because you are a very good hairstylist. You should breeze right through the courses with ease.” She stated.
“I know and my mom agrees with my decision, as well.” She said.
“I told her that I’m proud of her making the decision to go ahead and start school. I think this will be good for her, too.” Monty stated, smiling at her.
Candy cleared her throat again. “Mrs. Cat, will you watch MJ just a little longer this morning until I get registered for school? If you’re busy, then I can call my cousin, Dee, and have Monty take him home so she can watch him.”
“Baby, go ahead and go. I’ll watch my grandbaby. I love to see you all doing positive things with your lives. Don’t worry about him. We’ll be just fine.” Catherine said.
“Okay, thank you so much. Let me go see my lil man before I go.” Candy walked down the hallway. Monty followed behind her like a dog in heat, watching her plump ass sway back and forth. She walked into MJ’s bedroom and stood over his crib as she smiled. Monty walked up from behind and pressed his goods up against her ass.
“Come on, baby. Let me taste it.” He said again.
“Monty, please. I don’t have time for this.” She said, knowing that she wanted him just as bad as he wanted her. Catherine walked past the baby’s room peeking in at them.
“Monty, aren’t you supposed to be getting ready for work?” She asked, disturbing his groove. Damn, he thought.
“Yes, Ma; I’m about to go get ready now.” He said rubbing up against Candy’s butt and walking past Catherine with a smile on his face.
“Candy, I’m cooking dinner tonight and I want you to come over. You can invite your cousin, too. I have someone that I want y’all to meet.” Catherine stated.
“Sure, that’ll be nice. I won’t have to cook tonight. So, who’s this person that you want us to meet?” Candy asked. She rubbed MJ’s smooth cheeks with the back of fingertips.
“Yeah, who’s this person, Ma?” Monty asked, stepping out of his room in a white, Sean John, polo shirt and a pair of navy blue, Sean John, cargo pants. He looked very handsome with the blue and white Air Force One’s on. Candy turned around and smiled at how good Monty looked.
Damn, Candy you got to hold out. She coached herself.
“You’ll find out tonight.” Catherine responded. “Now, y’all gone and leave and don’t wake my baby up. I’m about to lie back down for a little while.” She gently hit Monty on the arm and walked to her bedroom. Candy walked out of MJ’s room, heading for the front door. Monty followed her.
“So, you’re heading to the office?” Candy asked, opening the front door.
“Yeah, I’m gonna head on over there. I have to meet with a client about putting some ads in the newspaper.” He said.
“Oh, Okay. Well, I will call you later, then.” Candy said walking out to her car. Monty continued to follow her.
“Baby, we still need to talk. I really want us to work things out.” He stated, clearly being sincere in wanting to be with her. Candy looked in the backseat at the suitcase. She hated her next move, but felt like she had to do it.
“Baby, I want us to work things out, also. I don’t like when things are this way between us, but you’ve given me no choice. I know we have a strong connection with MJ and all, but I don’t want sex to be the main thing that gets us back together.” He frowned a little.
“So, what are you saying?” He asked out of concern.
“I’m saying that we still need time apart to figure out if we both want to be in this relationship. I know what I want, but do you know what you really want?” She asked, opening up her backdoor. Monty stood there speechless, because he knew he wanted to be with her, but the dog in him wanted to still fuck around behind her back. “I bought some more of your things.” She stated, pointing at the suitcase.
“Damn, are you serious?” He asked her.
“Yeah, I’ve never been more serious in my life.” She said, holding the door open. Monty grabbed the suitcase. He had become irritated by how Candy was running things, kicking him out of her house and out of her life. He shook his head in a nonchalant manner.
“Okay, so this is how you want it, huh? After I confessed and manned up to my mistakes. So be it, then. From now on, this is how it’ll be.” He opened up the driver backdoor, putting the suitcase on his backseat. “I guess I’ll see you later, then.” He stated while getting inside of his Tahoe.
Candy turned to get inside of her car, as well. She was heartbroken, but knew that Monty needed tough love and if this is what it would take to make him appreciate just being with her and no other woman then, she’d take that chance.
Monty backed out of the driveway. He was hurt that Candy would take things this far, but he didn’t want to show it. She sat in her car as the sparkling sapphire ring shone bright on her hand. Tears fell from her eyes. She knew that this was one of the hardest decisions she had to make. She was truly jeopardizing her relationship with the man she loved, but it had to be done. She wiped her tears and she backed out of the driveway, heading to the school.
Chapter Nineteen
Mona sat at the table with her lips poked out as Rico walked into the dining area. He sat across from her, knowing that he’d fucked up. She hadn’t said a word to him after he’d gotten home. She was in the bed already and when he tried to snug up behind her, she slid over toward the edge of the bed and pushed his hand off of her. So, he took that as a sign of her not wanting to be bothered. He also was smart enough to know that he’d rather it be like that than to stress her more by having to listen to her bite his head off about staying out late with Monica. She looked over at him and he could tell that she’d been crying. The puffy red bags around her eyes hurt him deeply. He was torn in the middle of two baby mama’s, but only one had his heart and no matter what he’d do, he couldn’t make her realize that.
“So, do you feel like talking to me?” He asked, looking over at his beautiful lady.
“No, I really don’t.” Mona said softly. She was hurt that he’d been out and didn’t even have the decency to call her. Rico knew just how stubborn she was and to be honest, he was at fault.
“Listen baby,” he paused. “I know I should’ve called you last night and I’m sorry I didn’t. I don’t have any excuses for you, because there are none.” Rico dropped his head, knowing that what he was about to say wasn’t going to make things easier for Mona, but he promised he’d be honest with her. She stared at him, eagerly waiting for something, because anything was better than nothing at that point. He looked back up into her eyes and continued.
“When I got to the hospital last night I found out that that Monica is going to be on bed rest until she gives birth to the baby. Not only that, but I had to take her home afterwards, because we were told that in her condition she is not to drive. I know I was wrong, but I didn’t want to upset you anymore than you already were, from me being with her, and I didn’t want to upset her knowing the stress that she was already under by calling you in front of her.” Rico shook his head, because he knew that what he was saying was not going to sound right to Mona, no matter how he put it. He was trying his best to spare both of their feelings.
Mona stared at him. Her watery eyes gave in and the tears began to fall down her cheeks. Deep down inside she knew that Rico meant well, but trying to protect Monica’s feelings was something she couldn’t fathom. She was hurt to even think that her man would be spending this time with another woman and she couldn’t stop it.
Rico dropped his head. He couldn’t stand to see his baby cry knowing that he’d caused that pain.
I’m sorry baby. I don’t know what to do to make you understand that I don’t want to be with Monica like that, but I do want her to have a healthy baby; especially if he’s mine.”
“It’s funny how I’m pregnant with your baby too, but no matter what I do, I still can’t compete with her. If this baby is yours, then you’re always gonna be there to hold her hand and make sure that everything is okay. That’s just the type of person you are and I can’t take that. I wanna be with you so bad, Rico, but I can’t help but feel a little jealous here. You keep saying that she is not going to come between us, but she already has, and the sad thing about it is that you can’t see it. So, what am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to handle knowing that you’re spending time with another woman?” Mona asked as she continued to cry.
Rico stood up and walked over to her. He pulled her up by the hand until she faced him. He wiped her tears and held her closely in his arms, whispering in her ear. “Just trust me, baby. Please, just trust me. I will never leave you. I love you and I love my baby growing inside of you. Please believe me when I say that. Monica is no competition, because you’ve already won. Yes, I fucked up last night and I’m sorry, but I will never hurt you like that again. I’m so sorry.” He continued to hold her close to him and Mona felt safe in his arms. She knew he’d never intentionally hurt her, but knowing Rico his good intentions would surely sting her again and this was something that she wasn’t looking forward to.
__________
Monty pulled up to the office just in time, because MiKayla was pulling up behind him. He got out of his ride, glimpsing in the backseat at his suitcase. He was not feeling the way that Candy was treating him. He was hurting inside, but he didn’t want to let it show. When MiKayla stepped out of her car it seemed like the sun began to shine and all his thoughts about Candy vanished.
“Hi handsome,” she said smiling. “Are you ready to get down to business?” She asked dressed in her gray knee length skirt and white fitted blouse. She had on the red pumps that accented her legs and Monty smiled at how good she looked. The short hair cut she sported really accentuated her pretty face and he enjoyed his view as he watched her.
“I was born for business.” He answered, laughing a little while walking over to help her with her things. He grabbed her briefcase and headed toward the double doors of the office. “Follow me.” He said. She followed behind him enjoying her view as well. He opened up the doors and MiKayla walked in and looked around. She was shocked to see how nice the layout was on the inside.
“Wow, this is impressive.” She stated, turning in a circle to get a clear look at her surroundings.
“Thank You,” Monty said, knowing that she’d like it. Let’s take this business upstairs in my office. My partners should be in shortly. We are all getting settled in. If we are in my office, then they won’t disturb us.” Monty grinned, knowing that he had more than business on his mind. She grinned back at him; ready for whatever business he’d have in store for her.
She followed him into his office and looked around. He closed the door behind them. He watched her gently wipe her hands across the sleek laminate surface of his desk. She admired the U-shaped cherry top with the black base surrounding the desk. When she turned to look at Monty he was standing right in her face. He gently lifted her body and sat her up on his desk, easing her skirt up above her waist. She knew that this business was something that she’d enjoy all the time with him.
He pulled his pants down and eased her thong to the side while watching her fat hairless pearl. She squirmed inside, needing him to just give it to her right there like she wanted it. He held his eleven inches of thickness in his hand and toyed around her wet spot. She moved her butt up trying to open wide for him to enter her. She begged him to give it to her. He was anxious, but loved the excitement that MiKayla gave him.
Without hesitation, he decided that slipping her thong off was best and he went down on her kissing around her waxed pearl. The taste was good to him and he didn’t care that he was giving her his all. He was feeling her like crazy and since he was now a single man, he could show her just how much. She arched her back with her head rolled back and she enjoyed what he was doing to her. He gently sucked on her clit in a circular motion over and over again until she came and he tried his best not to let any of her goods get away. He stood to his feet and inserted his dick inside her warm, wet walls and stroked her like he wanted to do earlier with Candy, but that didn’t happen so, he made up for it with MiKayla. She enjoyed every stroke and before she knew it, she was trembling with another orgasm.
Monty pulled out and began to jack his dick as the white cum shot into the palm of his hand. “Aaaahh!” He said like he needed that. He looked at MiKayla and smiled with a hand full of cum.
She laughed and inched her butt over to grab her purse. “Hold up,” she said. Inside her purse she had some feminine wipes and she pulled them out one by one to clean Monty and herself up.
Once their attire was back in place, they sat down to figure out how the ad in the paper would be. When the business was taken care of, he knew it was time for her to go or he’d be trying to get some more. Plus, he knew that Maurice had made it there, because he heard him come up the stairs while he and MiKayla were still in the act.
He looked at her and smiled. “So, what are you doing later?” He asked.
“My sister is inviting me over for dinner later. Would you like to join me?” She asked then, thought about him being in a relationship. “Damn, I’m sorry. I think that in my mind I’m just wishing that you were single. That way we’d be able to do things like that.” She stated.
“To be honest, my mom is cooking dinner, too, but I’d be willing to drop by your sister’s for a little while if that’s cool with you.” He stated.
“Sure, I’d love for you to come over.” She said. “Then I can introduce you to her.”
“Sounds like a plan then. I’ll walk you out.” He said as he opened the office door. MiKayla followed behind him and as they passed by Maurice’s office door, Dee was walking out. Monty’s heart sank, because the look on her face told him that she knew what was going on in his office. Maurice, jumped up to give him dap and his eyes stretched open trying to signal him that his thoughts were correct.
Dee looked at Monty then at MiKayla. “Well, hello there.” She said as if it was all good, but deep down inside she hated knowing what he’d been up to.
“Uh, hey Dee, what’s up?” Monty asked, clearing his throat. “I’m just walking her out.” MiKayla turned to him, not really knowing what was going on, but was very professional with her exit.
“Oh, no don’t worry about it. I can see myself out and if I have any other questions about the newspaper ad then I will contact you via email or I’ll try to reach you here. Thanks for your business.” She said and walked down the stairs, heading out the lobby doors.
Monty turned and walked back into his office. He was speechless for a change and didn’t know what to say. His intensions were to have MiKayla talk to Maurice and Rico, but he was so caught off guard by seeing Dee until he forgot to mention them and what they wanted in their ads. He went and sat behind his desk with thoughts about the consequences of his actions if Dee decided to tell Candy about this.
__________
Catherine was taking the baked macaroni and cheese out of the oven when Monty walked into the kitchen. He kissed her on the cheek and pulled over a bar stool to sit on. Catherine looked over at him. She could sense that her son had some heavy concerns on his mind and she figured that this would be her chance to get through to him before their company arrived. She smiled at him. He smiled back and dropped his head.
“I’m cooking your favorite.” She said to break the ice. She uncovered the fried pork chops, opened the lid on the collard greens, and showed him the bowl filled with jiffy bread muffins. Monty smiled as she handed him a pork chop to eat.
“Thanks Ma,” he said with a grin as he bit into it.
“So, what’s
going on with you?” She asked rubbing her hand across his wavy black hair. He continued chewing while looking up at her. He needed to have this talk with her, because her advice meant everything to him.
“Ma, I feel very blessed because my dreams are finally coming true, but my love life is becoming complicated.” He bit his pork chop again and sadly looked into her eyes.
“Okay, so what is going on with you and Candy?” She asked. “For one, you stayed here last night. I can’t recall you staying here since the first night MJ came home.” Monty looked on still eating the last piece of meat from around the pork chop bone. “I didn’t say anything earlier when I saw you bring in your suitcase, but I’m guessing that you’ll be moving back in for the time being.”
He nodded in agreement; throwing the pork chop bone in the trash as if he was shooting a hoop. “Yeah, I guess I’ll be moving back in for the time being.” He commented.
“So, what is going on with you and Candy, if you don’t mind me asking?” She didn’t want to make him talk about it if he wasn’t ready to.
“Candy called it quits. She said that we need time apart.” He was disappointed.
“Wow, I just can’t believe that Candy actually put out her Monty; the love of her life.” Catherine knew it was true, but had a hard time believing it.
“How did this happen?” She asked with a slight pause. “What could have unfolded that caused this, Son?” Monty hated to tell his mama what had really happened, because he knew that she would keep it real with her feedback, but keeping it real was what he really needed at that time.
“I don’t know where to begin.” He stated trying to figure out how he’d come clean about being with Monica. What he didn’t know was that Catherine had already known about it. Mona had told her everything. Unlike Monty, Mona freely opened up to Catherine about her love life. This was the only way Mona could see herself making the right decisions. Monty was different. He always liked to learn his lessons the hard way. Then get the advice he needed from Catherine to try to straighten things out. However, this time he was a little too late.
