And for some reason, the knowledge thrilled her.
Sure enough, moments later, she caught a glimpse of him behind Derek and shortly after, Derek let out the breath he had been holding and began to move. Again, Savannah forgot about Chad, closing her eyes as she savored the feeling of Derek’s cock plunging in and out of her, each time rubbing against spots inside her no one had ever managed to reach before. With each thrust, she felt her excitement and her desire rising and it took just a few before she was swept away again, clinging to Derek as she did.
For a moment, Derek paused then moved again, pounding into her with even more force than before. Savannah held on to him, afraid she would get crushed but trusting him at the same time and when he stopped again, she felt his warm cum filling her to the brim, some of it trickling out of her.
After that, Derek pulled out and put a quilt over her, planting a kiss on her forehead. She smiled at him but said nothing, still too breathless to speak. She couldn’t move, either, simply lying still on the rug where she felt snug as a bug. Too snug maybe, because before long, she fell asleep.
When Savannah woke up, the fire was still burning but the room was dark otherwise, Derek sleeping beside her and Chad on the couch.
Sweet. They had both decided to sleep with her in the living room.
It almost made her want to stay but remembering her rule about not having more than a one-night stand with jocks or celebrities – and Chad and Derek were both – she got up as carefully as she could, put on her clothes and went back to her cabin under the cover of the snow and the darkness. As she did, she smiled, thinking that she probably just had the most amazing one-night stand of her life.
Chapter 4
“You had a one-night stand with Chad Wyatt?” Jackie, Savannah’s best friend, asked with eyes wide in disbelief.
“Shh.” Savannah looked around as she held a finger to her lips. “It’s supposed to be a secret. I don’t want to be called a kiss-and-tell girl.”
“Sorry.” Jackie hunched her shoulders and looked around as well. “I suppose I just got carried away.”
Savannah sighed. “It’s okay. No one seems to have heard.”
Thankfully, the garden café which they were currently having coffee in didn’t seem to be crowded and their table was tucked in a corner beside a stone fountain.
Jackie waved her hand in front of her face. “Oh, why am I surprised? You’re Savannah Powell, after all. No one’s out of your league. Still, to think that Chad…”
She stopped as Savannah gave her a warning glance.
Jackie placed her hand beside her mouth and lowered her voice to a whisper. “To think you slept with Chad Wyatt. Girl, you really are something.”
Savannah didn’t answer, simply taking a sip from her cup of coffee. If Jackie was so surprised now, she wondered what Jackie’s reaction would be if she found out she didn’t just sleep with Chad Wyatt but with Derek Brown, as well. Not that Savannah had any intention of telling. Yes, Jackie was her best friend but even between best friends, there were matters that couldn’t be shared, especially matters between the sheets.
Jackie sat back and sighed. “I wish I was born a billionaire’s daughter.”
Again, Savannah said nothing. She had heard the statement dozens of times before and while each time, she wanted to say that being in her place was not a bed of roses, she also couldn’t deny that it came with certain privileges, one of which was getting to meet men like Chad Wyatt and Derek Brown.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go out with…”
Savannah shot her another warning glance.
“With you-know-who?” Jackie continued. “I mean go on dates, be serious…”
“You know I have a rule against dating jocks and…”
“Celebrities, I know.” Jackie gave another sigh. “Oh, what people would give to have a rule like that.”
“What I would give to not have a rule like that,” Savannah said.
“Too bad they’re mostly jerks, huh?”
Savannah nodded.
Mostly.
But what about Derek and Chad? They weren’t complete jerks. Yes, Chad liked to sleep around and party and spend on extravagant things but he had a reason. It wasn’t just a selfish rebellion or being a spoiled brat, like so many she knew. And Derek didn’t have one bad bone on him. He was simply misunderstood. They weren’t jerks so they should be exceptions to the rule, right?
Right?
Savannah didn’t know. She couldn’t deny that she liked them but to go so far as to date them? Both of them? Nah. It wouldn’t work. It just wouldn’t.
It was an amazing one-night stand, but that was all. She doubted she would ever hear from either guy again. In fact, she was pretty sure that by now, they’d forgotten all about her.
“Ms. Powell, you forgot something!” The receptionist, Marge, chased after Savannah as she was headed to the elevator, already on her way back to her penthouse apartment.
Savannah looked at the petite woman with the red-rimmed eyeglasses and the brown curls with furrowed eyebrows. What could she have forgotten?
“I mean I forgot to tell you something,” Marge corrected herself. “Somebody sent you flowers.”
“Flowers?” Savannah’s eyes grew wide.
“Two dozen Ecuadorian roses to be exact,” Marge explained. “I’ve sent them up to your apartment.”
It still didn’t make sense to Savannah. Who could possibly have sent her flowers?
“And there were presents, as well,” Marge added. “I sent them all up.”
“From who?” Savannah asked curiously.
“I’m afraid I wasn’t told, though there was a note with the flowers.”
“I see.”
She supposed there was only one way to find out who had sent them then and she suddenly couldn’t wait.
“Thanks, Marge.”
“You’re welcome, Ms. Powell.”
Continuing towards the elevator, Savannah waited for it to take her to the penthouse and as soon as the doors had opened, she rushed towards the end of the carpeted hall, where two men in suits were stationed beside double doors.
“Marge told me someone sent me flowers and presents,” she told them.
“They’re inside, ma’am,” the larger of the men said. “We’ve checked them and they’re completely safe.”
“You didn’t, by any chance, check who sent them?”
“No, ma’am,” the other guard answered. “But there was a note.”
Eager to see it, Savannah entered her apartment, at once seeing the bouquets and two paper bags on the table in the foyer. She looked for the note and finding it, opened the pink envelope.
The piece of paper simply said:
To: Savannah.
Love, Chad and Derek
Attached to it was a ticket to a hockey game.
For a moment, Savannah simply stared at the note, not knowing how to react. For sure, she was surprised. She was also a bit confused, wondering why they had sent her the presents, but at the same time, a little thrilled.
“Should I send them back?” the butler, Oliver, asked.
No doubt, he was clueless about what to do since she had never received presents before.
“No,” she answered quickly. “You can put the flowers in the living room.”
“Yes, miss.”
She took one, though, sniffing it on her way to the bedroom, the paper bags in one arm. She opened them on her bed, smiling to see a cat toy in one and souvenirs from the ski resort – a snow globe and a corkscrew - in the other.
How thoughtful.
She was still smiling when her phone rang and when she answered the call, she heard Chad’s voice on the other end.
“Did you like the flowers and the presents?” he asked.
Savannah chuckled. “Are you psychic or did you bribe the receptionist to give you a call as soon as I’d arrived?”
“Hey, I don’t bribe. I did ask her a favor, though.”

; “Let me guess. With that perfect smile of yours and a flip of your hair?”
Chad laughed. “Did you get the ticket, too?”
“Um-hmm.”
“Are you coming?”
Savannah paused. Technically, it wasn’t a date. She would just be watching them play, maybe cheer them on a little. Besides, she couldn’t deny that she wanted to see them again, even if it was just to thank them for the presents in person.
“Fine. I’ll be there.”
“Great. Derek will be thrilled to hear it, too. We’ll see you then.”
There was a click and the call ended. Savannah lay on top of her bed, smiling.
She had thought they had forgotten all about her, but they hadn’t, which just proved that they really weren’t jerks. They weren’t even mad that she left them without a word. And they even sent her presents and invited her to their game.
Still, she told herself not to be too excited.
It didn’t mean anything. It was just a game, nothing more.
Just a hockey game.
Chapter 5
To say that it was just a hockey game, clearly, Savannah had never been to one. Even though the stadium, or the barn as they apparently called it, was cold, she could feel the heat and the tension in the air, both from the players, who she could clearly see since she had a front row seat, and the spectators. The game itself was exciting, too, which Savannah found strange since on TV, she often got bored or confused with all the different terms that the commentators used. Here, she could just focus on the action, watching the players move, especially Chad and Derek, of course, cheering whenever Chad scored or Derek blocked a shot.
She wasn’t the only one. The crowd was largely dominated by blues and blacks, the colors of Chad and Derek’s team and a lot of them cheered loudly for Chad and Derek. The women, in particular, some of whom wore pink bunny ears, cheered at the top of their lungs for Chad and Savannah would’ve been annoyed if she didn’t know that she was way ahead of them, already having done things with Chad that they could only dream of.
In the end, Chad and Derek’s team won just by two goals, the last of which was scored by Chad. Savannah stood and applauded, giving the guys a thumbs-up sign when they glanced in her direction.
Afterwards, she waited outside the locker room, enduring the puzzled and scornful glances of the ‘puck bunnies’ as someone informed her they were. Finally, Chad and Derek came out, no longer in their uniforms but both still looking attractive just the same.
“Hey.” Chad smiled at her. “Glad you could come.”
“Did you enjoy the game?” Derek asked.
Savannah nodded. “It was great. Both of you were. Congratulations on winning.”
“Thanks,” Derek said.
Just then, another player passed by. “Who’s the rocket?” he asked, winking at her.
Savannah felt confused. Rocket?
“Back off, man,” Chad warned. “She’s already taken.”
The player left.
“Was it just me or did he call me a rocket?” Savannah asked.
“A rocket is a term for a beautiful girl,” Derek explained.
“I see.” Savannah nodded. “You sure have a world of your own.”
“You’re welcome to live in it,” Chad said.
Savannah didn’t know how to answer to that. Why was she here again? Oh, right.
“I just wanted to thank you guys for…”
“Hey, why don’t you have dinner with us?” Chad interrupted.
“Dinner?”
“I’m sure Derek’s hungry.” Chad nudged Derek’s belly. “And I am, too. What do you say we go grab something to eat?”
Savannah paused. She had only come to watch the game and thank the guys. Then again, since she was already here, dinner wasn’t such a bad idea and it wasn’t really a date, just a celebration of Chad and Derek’s victory.
“Alright. Where do we go?”
They went to a steakhouse not far from the arena where they were able to get a booth, thanks to Chad’s connections. There, the men ate slabs of grilled Matsusaka beef while Savannah tried some of the sashimi, which she found excellently prepared. In between bites and gulps of beer, Chad and Derek tried to educate her on hockey, also sharing some of their experiences in the league and playing hockey while growing up while Savannah, in turn, told them about some of her own experiences, particularly the trips she had taken around the world.
All in all, it was a great dinner, one of the best Savannah had ever had and just as it was about to end, Chad surprised her by kissing her. It would have been perfect if it had ended right there but afterwards, Chad looked at her with a serious expression and asked her an unexpected question.
“Would you like to go out with Derek and me indefinitely?”
Savannah froze. Did Chad just ask her out? Did he want the three of them to be like a couple or something? She didn’t know whether to laugh or frown. Surely, Chad didn’t think such an arrangement could work. For one, no one would ever accept it and they would have to keep it a secret forever. Was Chad asking that of her? Didn’t that make him a jerk?
Savannah looked away only to meet Derek’s gaze, the look on his face serious and hopeful, as well. No, they weren’t being jerks. They both just really wanted to be with her and somehow, that made her more uneasy.
“I’m sorry.” She grabbed her purse. “But I have a rule against dating jocks and celebrities.”
Yes, she did, but that wasn’t the real reason she was turning them down. She was more of afraid, afraid of entering an unusual relationship, of committing herself to two men. Strange. She had always been able to handle jerks even though she hated them but now that she was faced with two good men, she couldn’t face them. What was wrong with her?
“I have to go.”
Without waiting for them to say anything, Savannah left the booth, put on her shoes and went outside. She crossed the parking lot, her thoughts in a turmoil and she must have been too wrapped up in them because she didn’t notice someone was following her until a hand grabbed her arm.
Quickly, she turned around, surprised when she saw Derek standing in front of her.
“Derek?”
“I didn’t want you to leave upset,” he said. “I’ve made that mistake before and I don’t want to do it again.”
“I’m not upset,” she said, looking away. “I’m just…confused. Why me?”
“To tell you the truth, you’re the first woman to…to be with us and we feel comfortable with you,” Derek answered. “We…like you. A lot.”
Savannah fell silent. She liked them, too, but was that enough reason for her to get into a relationship with them?
“I know you’re scared,” Derek told her. “I was, too, when I first realized I liked Chad. I never liked men before. But Chad…there’s just something about him.” He rubbed the back of his head. “Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that you don’t have to be afraid of anything. We’ll…”
“Hey, isn’t that ‘The Mammoth’?” a voice interrupted them.
Savannah turned her head and saw two drunken men with two women standing a few feet away.
“He sure is big,” one of the men said. “And scary.”
“Hey, mister, you’re not hurting that beautiful, young lady, are you?” the other man asked. “She looks scared.”
“Come to think of it, I’ve heard something about him beating up women,” one of the women said. “Should we call the cops?”
Savannah felt Derek tense.
“Yeah, maybe we should,” the man who first spoke said.
“There’s no need,” Savannah said, stepping forward. “This man isn’t harassing me or anything. We’re just talking.”
“Are you sure, miss? He looks like he was threatening you.”
“He’s not threatening me,” Savannah defended. “He’s a friend of mine.”
“A friend?” Someone laughed.
“You don’t look like you’re friends.” One of the men too
k out his phone. “Why would someone like her be friends with someone like you?”
Derek’s hands rolled into fists.
Uh-oh, Savannah thought. If there was a fight here, it would mean big trouble, especially for Derek. No way was she going to let that happen.
“You know what? You’re right,” she said. “We’re not just friends.”
Saying that, she turned around, stood on the tips of her toes and kissed Derek. That effectively silenced them, eventually sending the nosey group away, the men cursing and the women with ‘Ew’s’. As soon as they were gone, Savannah pulled away.
“Are you alright?” she asked Derek.
He nodded. “You didn’t have to do that.”
Savannah shook her head. “It’s nothing. You should go back inside. I’ll…think about what you said.”
“Okay,” Derek said, giving her a smile before walking away.
Savannah headed to her car, slipping into the backseat and keeping quiet as the chauffeur started the engine and drove off. In spite of what had just happened, in spite of what Derek had told her, she was still confused.
What was she going to do now?
She didn’t know and so she decided to stop thinking about it for now. Who knew? Maybe her mind would be clearer tomorrow.
Chapter 6
Savannah’s mind was even more of a mess.
Ever since she had been roused from sleep by a phone call early that morning, the apartment phone was ringing off the hook and her website and social media accounts were flooded by questions.
Actually, just one question: Was she going out with Derek Brown?
Apparently, someone had taken a picture of her kissing Derek in the parking lot last night and now, it was all over the internet. Everyone wanted to know what it meant, specifically if she really was dating Derek Brown or not. Even Jackie.
“I thought it was Chad Wyatt you slept with,” Jackie said over the phone. “Or did I get that wrong?”
Savannah sighed. “You’re not helping, Jackie.”
“Sorry. You know I’m here for you, but I have to find out what happened, too. I’m dying of curiosity here.”
“Nothing happened, okay?” Savannah lay on her bed.
