Falling Completely (Starling Falls #1) Page 26

by Aidan Willows

  Do not harm the boyfriend.

Just remember, you love him. You may not like him very much right now. But you do love him.

“Just so you know Jameson, that isn’t what I meant when I asked if I was going to be fed.” I rolled my eyes and walked away from him taking in the breath-taking view. Taking off my backpack, I placed it on the ground next to me.

Caleb came up behind me, winding him arms around my waist. “So. What do you think?” he asked as he rested his chin on top of my head.

“It’s beautiful. Almost makes waking up at 6am on my day off worth it.” I teased, leaning into him.

“Glad you think so, baby. I wanted to be here before the trails got busy.”

“Why?” I turned as he moved away from me. My eyes widened and my breath caught in my chest as Caleb dropped to one knee in front of me and pulled a box out of his pocket.

  Oh.

  “Yes.” I exhaled.

He looked up at me and laughed. “I didn’t even ask the question yet. I had a whole speech planned and everything.”

“Don’t care. Yes.” Caleb got off his knees. I wound my arms around his neck, moulding my body to his as our mouths met passionately.

He opened the box and took the ring out, sliding it onto the ring finger on my left hand. A cushion cut sapphire stone sat nestled in a square of sparkling aquamarine stones that reminded me of the colour of his eyes.

“A diamond didn’t seem right for you.”

“It’s perfect.” I told him breathlessly.

“Liya, I love you so much, baby. I can’t wait to make you my wife.” He cupped my jaw with a big hand.

“Well it’s a good thing I kinda like you too, if we’re going to be stuck together for the foreseeable future.” I teased, placing a brief kiss to his lips.

He rested his forehead on mine. “I need to hear you say the words, Liya.”

I pulled back to looked directly into his eyes “I love you, Caleb Jameson.”

He groaned and lifted me up so I could wrap my legs around his hips. “What do you say we consummate this marriage proposal properly?” he said pressing kisses to my neck as he turned around and pressed my back into a nearby tree.

“Caleb. We’re in public.” I moaned.

His mouth sucked hard on the curve of my neck. “So? There’s no one else around, so there’s no chance of us being given a caution for public indecency again.”

Yeah. That had been embarrassing. Especially the second time.

“Fine. But the clothes stay on and my body doesn’t touch the ground. I’m not taking the risk of any bugs crawling into my coochie at any point during this consummation.”

Caleb kissed my mouth fervently. “The only thing going in your coochie is me.”

I couldn’t help the giggle the erupted from my lips. “I love you Jameson, but if you don’t fuck me and then feed me, we’re going to have issues.”

“I have chocolate chip cookies and subs in my bag; chicken… bacon… lettuce… tomato… mayo…” he said as his hand went to waistband of my leggings, pulling them over my hips.

I groaned when his finger found my heated slit. “Mmm, you say all the right things. I love it when you talk food to me…”

He pressed a tender kiss to my lip. “You’ve got a whole lifetime of it to look forward to, Angel.”

  Author’s Note

When I began Falling Completely, it was only ever supposed to be a short story (maybe a little smutty), but as I began to tell Liya and Caleb’s story, it took on a life of its own. With each character I wrote, I fell in love with the book a little more and soon had become completely committed to doing these characters justice and telling their story in a way that I think they deserved.

I started writing as a way to kill time in between depressing job hunting moments and found something which I am now completely besotted with; it fills me up and makes me happy and I plan on carrying on, no matter what life has in store for me.

The Starling Falls Series will continue with ‘Falling Sweetly’ which I hope will be released about early April and it will Jake and Niki’s story. I want to thank you for taking a chance on an unknown author, and I hope you enjoyed reading about Liya, Caleb and the rest of the crew from Starling Falls as much as I enjoyed writing about them.

I would truly appreciate if you left a comment/rating/review on Amazon or Goodreads.

If you have any questions about further books in the series or any comments in general, I would love to hear from you! Stalk me by any of the following ways.

  Falling Sweetly – Sneak Peak

  Niki

How is he still talking? He hasn’t stopped for the last twenty minutes.

Does he remember he’s still on a date? Does he realise I’ve not actually spoken for the entire conversation?

He has lettuce stuck in his teeth. Should I tell him?

There’s not even any lettuce on his plate… How long has that lettuce been stuck there?

Oh shit. He just asked a question… Focus!

“I’m sorry, I didn’t quite get what you just said. Could you repeat the question.” I asked taking a sip of water, in an attempt to regroup and see if it was possible to salvage this disaster of a date.

“I said.” He paused to let out a burp that near enough shook the table “I’m not usually into bigger women, but you looked hot enough that I said ‘why the hell not’. Your rack is great by the way, are they real?” He added with a self-satisfied smirk.

And I’m out. Emergency escape phone call it is.

“Would you excuse me for a moment, I have to visit the restroom.” I said with a fake smile, nearly tripping in my hurry to leave the table.

I brought up Liya’s number and dialled as I walked to the bathroom. She answered on the third ring with a laugh “Caleb! Stop it! Someone is going to see. Niki? What’s up?”

“Are you two having sex in public again? You remember Sherriff Turner said that if he catches you guys again, he will have to arrest you this time.”

“Well, I’m trying to avoid jail time, but I think my boyfriend is a bit of an exhibitionist.” Liya said and I heard her trying to slap Caleb’s hands away.

“Fiancé! Get it right, baby!” Caleb called out in the background distance.

Liya huffed “Whatever. You know I hate that word. It sounds so phoney.”

I cut her off before an argument could begin between them and I would be stranded in my nightmare date all night “HEY! Sister in need here! Call me in five minutes and say the cat is ill or something.”

“Wow. Hasn’t it only been like fifteen minutes? That has to be some kind of new record. Where is he on the scale from Mildly Creepy to Serial Killer?” Liya asked as I heard loud kisses echoing in the distance.

“I would say he rates about a Complete and Utter Sleazeball on the scale.” I said with a sigh.

“Eeep. Okay sweet sister. Help is on the way.” Liya said before hanging up as I heard Caleb tell her how beautiful she would look naked in
the moonlight.

I didn’t think the moon was actually visible in the sky tonight, but I had to applaud his tactics.

My sister had some issues that she needed to work through prior to her and her fiancé Caleb getting together. He had basically resorted to semi- stalking her and had also got his family involved, which had been pretty amusing at the time.

But looking at them now, my heart melted a little at how sweet they were together. Though, I refrained from sharing this opinion with my sister as it usually resulted in something being thrown at me.

Liya hadn’t had the easiest of lives and neither had Caleb, if any two people had deserved a chance at happiness it was them.

Seeing my sister having the courage to work through her own issues persuaded me to do the same, hence the reason I was currently on Disastrous Date No. 3.

I was still cautiously optimistic that the perfect guy was out there. However, after the last couple of dates, I was beginning to think crazy cat and fish lady was the only future I had left in store.
