Texas Orchids (The Devil's Horn Ranch Series)

“It will be their first grandchild. Someday it will be us, finding out this one is having our grandbaby.”
“I look forward to each and every day between now and then.” I wrap her in my arms and kiss her. “You really don’t want to know what we’re having?”
She smiles. “I already know. I had a dream last night, and it was so real, it had to be telling me something.”
“Tell me then, what are we having?”
Her eyes well. “I think it’s a girl.”
My heart soars. I’ll be happy with any child this incredible woman gives me, but the thought of a small version of her is enough to bring me to my knees.
“We should start thinking about names.” I lead her to the back door, where we stop and gaze at the hat on the peg, then at each other. We smile. “Well then, I guess that’s settled, darlin’.”

Acknowledgments
You’ve been begging for the Mitchell Sisters’ next generation, and I finally had the courage to start writing it! I always knew Maddox would end up in Texas. It was so much fun watching him make the transition from city boy to cowboy.
If Texas Orchids was the first book you’ve read of mine, you’ll want to go back and read about Maddox’s parents in Purple Orchids—where it all started.
Being a city girl myself, I required a lot of help getting insight into horses and ranch life. A huge thank you to Jen Meador and Paula Quinn for helping me learn all the ins and outs. I couldn’t have written this book without their guidance.
Thank you to my incredible beta readers, Joelle Yates, Shauna Salley, Laura Conley, and Jen Meador. You all have special talents you bring to beta reading.
To my alpha reader and quasi-editor, Ann Peters, I appreciate your dedication and willingness to do multiple reads without a single complaint.
As always, my editing team at Murphy Rae Solutions deserves a shout out.
I would be remiss if I didn’t also thank my super-awesome assistant, Julie Collier, who not only does beta reading, but helps me in all things.
Next, I’m on to Aaron’s story, Texas Lilies. I can’t wait to see where that takes me. It will be my 20th book which just blows my mind. Thank you to the loyal readers who’ve stuck with me on this amazing journey.
About the author
Samantha Christy’s passion for writing started long before her first novel was published. Graduating from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Criminal Justice, she held the title of Computer Systems Analyst for The Supreme Court of Wisconsin and several major universities around the United States. Raised mainly in Indianapolis, she holds the Midwest and its homegrown values dear to her heart, and upon the birth of her third child devoted herself to raising her family full time. While it took time to get from there to here, writing has remained her utmost passion, and being a stay-at-home mom facilitated her ability to follow that dream. When she is not writing, she keeps busy cruising to every Caribbean island where ships sail. Samantha Christy currently resides in St. Augustine, Florida with her husband and four children.
