Endless Love

There was a desperation in the kiss even though Cat had just pushed all of Emma’s fears from her mind. Emma wanted her to know that she felt the same way about her, that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with her and no one else.

Emma parted her lips against Cat’s as the snow fell around them. There were a few cheers in the background from people passing by and Emma could feel Cat’s lips moving into a smile as they continued to kiss.

“I’m so glad you said ‘yes,’” Cat whispered between kisses.

  “Did you think I wouldn’t?”

“I didn’t know… I know that losing Melissa… It changed things for me,” Cat said softly, her arms still around Emma’s waist. “We’ve spent enough time apart… I just thought the timing was right.”

“I know, baby,” Emma said as she leaned in to find her lips again. “The timing is perfect,” she said with a smile.

  Epilogue

  January 10th, 2017

Emma went through her mail and was surprised to find a package with her name on it. She wasn’t expecting anything unless it was a late Christmas present.

She flipped over the padded envelope to see if there was a return address but there was nothing written on the back. It was heavy and slightly larger than a standard piece of paper.

Emma went into her office to find a pair of scissors and sat down in front of her desk as she opened the package.

She slid out a black framed photograph.

It was a photo of Cat kneeling in front of her in the snow, her own mouth open in shock, and snowflakes falling around them as Cat proposed.

There was a handwritten note underneath the frame that Emma took out and read.

I hope you don’t mind that I was there to witness this special moment, but Cat asked me to try and take some photos. She wanted to have more than just her memories of that night to look back on.

I’m so happy for you Emma. You deserve this.

You two make a beautiful couple.

  All the best,

  Tori

Emma’s eyes teared up as she read over Tori’s words. Cat was so thoughtful and maybe… Maybe Tori could be forgiven.

Emma took down one of the photos that was on her wall and replaced it with this one, knowing how happy it would make her to see it every day.

Emma would always wonder what would have happened if she’d gone with Cat to Los Angeles the first time, but everything had worked itself out.

She was going to marry her soulmate, the only person who ever understood her, and she couldn’t be happier.

  The End.
