Love Scene, Take Two

A smirk appears on her face.
She glances over at the photographers, then back up at him.
“Absolutely,” she says, grabbing him by his jacket lapels and yanking him in for a kiss.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
There’s really only one way to kick things off here, and it’s by thanking my parents. They’re the reason I was able to do this—in so many more ways than just one. Mom, you’ve encouraged me to keep writing since my fifth-grade literary masterpiece, The Doggie Hotel, and I can’t tell you how much it means to me that I got my love for stories from the Oakley side of the family. Dad, this book is a direct result of our countless conversations about Strategic Coach and investments, but most important, it’s a direct result of you telling me that if I’m going to do it, I better get going. I’ll never be able to thank you guys enough—I just hope one day I can make my own kids feel as loved and supported as y’all have made Lindsay, Jay, and me feel.
Thank you to Jean Feiwel, Lauren Scobell, my editor Holly West, and the entire Swoon Reads/Macmillan team for everything you do. Holly and Lauren, that July afternoon phone call back in 2016 changed my life. Thank you both for believing in this story. And to Holly—thank you for your guidance and patience throughout this experience. Love Scene, Take Two has found a home on bookshelves because of you, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
A Snorlax-size thank-you to Sam Pennington, for literally e v e r y t h i n g. This acknowledgments section would be a novel in itself if I listed out all the things you’ve done for me, and I can honestly say that one of the best things to come from writing this story has been your friendship.
Thank you to all my Wattpad readers who have left countless votes and comments on my work, and thank you to the Swoon Reads community for being so welcoming. This story has always been for you, and it means the world to me that you all took the time to read it.
And finally, I have to give a major shout-out to my Internet pals Ashley, Ana, and Zoe. We’ve never actually met in person, but you’ve been riding with me in the HOV lane since the very beginning. And I absolutely love you for it.
