  He shifted right before my eyes; he looked at me with his blue eyes and menacing stare. I shifted into my beast form; Goon licked my face then rubbed his head against mine. I snapped my teeth at him playfully. Goon ran across the floor in full speed then jumped through the window. The sounds of glass breaking and loud growling rang my sensitive ears. I ran then leaped out of the window behind him. The bear Goon is wrestling with is huge! Its claws were sharp and long and so was its teeth. The bear stood up on his hind legs, overshadowing Goon. Goon’s ears went back as he crouched down licking his sharp canines. The bear let out a threating growl, Goon charged into the oversized beast. The bear clawed at Goon as Goon’s sharp teeth pierced through the bear’s neck. Blood splattered on the ground, the bear swatted at Goon’s face. I climbed up a tree then leaped onto the bear’s back when it rolled over on top of Goon. I aimed for its neck, sinking my teeth into it. The fresh taste of blood made me want to kill. My stomach growled as I thought about my heavy meal. Goon bit into the other side of the bear’s neck. The bear tried to fight us off, but it was getting weak, the bear collapsed onto the ground. When he stopped breathing Goon tore into its stomach like a wild animal. Goon pulled a chunk out of its stomach then dropped it on the ground next to me. I devoured the thick, bloody, raw and chewy meat. My stomach growled for more and Goon gave me more. When we got back into the cabin, we were bloody. Goon and I headed straight for the shower, afterwards we got into bed.

  “I’m stuffed!” he said.

  “Me too!” I said cuddling underneath of him.

  We stayed up in the mountains for a few more days then we headed home. The bear we killed still had a lot of meat left on it so Goon, butchered it making steaks out of it. He is giving it to his pack brothers. When I got back home, I called Adika. When she answered the phone, she sounded sad.

  “What’s the matter with you?” I asked her.

  “I told Izra I couldn’t see him again!” she said.

  “WHAT! Why would you do that? I thought you two were getting along!” I said to her.

  “We were, but he and I are so different, Kanya!” she sniffled into the phone.

  “I will be over! We can talk about it then!” I said to her. After I hung up with Adika, I headed back upstairs. I walked into the kitchen and Kofi was cutting up a piece of meat.

  “There’s my beautiful jackal! How was your little getaway? I see the mean beast is in a good mood! I have never seen that pup smile so much!” Kofi said joyfully.

  “It was fun and relaxing! I’m just trying to get used to being a nature woman!” I said kissing his cheek then he blushed.

  “Where is Elle, Izra, and Amadi?” I asked Kofi.

  “They took Izra out of the house! That girl he was seeing told him she did not want to talk to him anymore. Izra did not like that too much. Wolves are territorial! When Izra laid down with her, she became his,” Kofi said chewing the meat.

  “He marked her?” I asked Kofi.

  “Yes, he marked her then she told him she didn’t want to be bothered. She is human, so once she says that, she does not have to deal with him. If she were a wolf, she wouldn’t have a choice! I keep telling the pack to never give desire to a human!” Kofi stated. After Kofi and I chatted, I showered then changed my clothes. I walked into my room with just a towel wrapped around my body. I went into my walk-in closet to get out some clothes to wear.

  “Where are you going?” Goon’s voice boomed from behind me.

  “I’m going to see Adika and we might go out! Is that okay with you? How do you like this outfit?” I turned around holding the shirt and pants together. Goon had a displeased look etched on his face.

  “I don’t like it! It seems as if it would show too much!” he said to me.

  “Why did you buy it?” I asked him laughing, but he was not laughing. He crossed his arms then leaned against the closet doorway.

  “Your hips have spread since then! Your breast will pop out of that shirt!” he spat. I rolled my eyes then picked out a longer top.

  “You can’t just roam around freely!” he said to me.

  “Don’t start it, Goon!” I yelled at him. His eyes changed color indicating that I pissed off his beast.

  “You are not capable of fighting off another wolf, Kanya! You are still in heat!” he yelled at me.

  “I am not a fucking baby!” I gave him the same tone he gave me.

  “Okay! Cool! Let’s see how big and bad you are when you are put in another position like before!” he said walking out of the room.

  “Go to hell!” I screamed out. I ripped up the clothes that I held in my hands into shreds.

  “GREAT! I didn’t mean to do that!” I said to myself. I picked out another outfit then got dressed. I grabbed Goon’s truck keys, my purse, and cell-phone. I headed towards the door.

  “Be safe!” Goon said to me. I looked him up and down and he was dressed casual. He had on a pair of jeans, Timbs, and a sweater that hugged his chest but was not too tight. The sweater fit him perfectly! He wore a diamond chain necklace around his neck. I growled at him then he chuckled.

  “Where are you going?” I asked him becoming jealous.

  “I’m getting to ready to meet my brothers!” he said walking past me. His cologne tickled my nose; my sex pulsated as I eyed him. He is so mannish and beautiful!   Goon chuckled then turned around with his arms spread and licking his lips. I wanted him to take me right here and now, but I had just text Adik

  “What’s the matter with you?” she asked me.

  “Goon is gone with Izra to a strip-club! I hope he doesn’t grab anyone’s ass!” I said to Adika.

  “Ohhhhh, you are jealous!” she said putting on her pumps. I noticed something different about Adika. I had not seen her since the day Izra brought me over to her home. Her hips are wider and her breast were fuller. He definitely marked her!

  “I’m a witch shifter! I can shift to any animal I desire. I have a sister that can shift to any person she chooses. We were born from spells. We came out of the ground! We are created from magic. I know Izra is a werewolf! I know everything! Goon’s mother created my sister and me!” she said to me.

  “You knew all along?” I asked her.

  “Yes, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell you! All I ever wanted was to be normal! I wanted a real friend and a real boyfriend. But in reality, I can never have those things!” she said wiping her eyes.

  “Yes, you can! Being what you are, doesn’t determine your happiness!” I said to her then she smiled.

  “What would Izra think?” she asked me.

  “He couldn’t tell you’re immortal?” I asked her.

  “Witches don’t have scents! Our identity is secret until we reveal it ourselves,” she said to me.

  “My best-friend is a witch, I’m a jackal and my soulmate is a wolf! Can we have that drink now?” I asked then she laughed. She snapped her fingers and a big bottle of wine and two glasses appeared in front of me.

  “Drink up until I finish my make-up!” she laughed heading towards her bathroom.

  “I need something to smoke also!” I called out to her. Something appeared between my lips and it was a blunt. “I couldn’t ask for a better friend!” I said to her.

  After I parked Goon’s truck, Adika and I got out heading to the long line in front of the club.

  “My sister is here!” Adika said to me.

  “Adika!” someone called out. When I turned around, it was the same girl who was asking Goon for directions! I rolled my eyes at Adika’s sister. I have always known Adika had a sister, but over the years, I have never met her. Adika told me that her sister lived in another state.

  “What’s the matter with you?” Adika asked me.

  “Nothing!” I said then her sister laughed.

  “Smile now my child!” her sister said in Mrs. Carroll’s voice then Adika laughed.

  “You’ve met her, already! This is Keora!” Adika introduced me to her.

  “You got me fired!” I said laughing.

  “Your Alpha got you fired! He gave me a nice piece of jewelry because of it; I did not mind helping out! I was tired of being that old woman with a shitty caregiver! Sasha almost made me turn her into a pile of shit!” Keora said.

  “Are you two disguised now?” I asked them.

  “Not me! I can only change my hair. Keora is disguised, which is always!” Adika said.

  After we went into the club, we talked and danced. I had a slight buzz, I noticed Keora and Adika started whispering and pointing by the door. Xavier walked in with his pack. I started to panic and beads of sweat formed on my forehead. “How does he always find me?” I wondered.

  “That asshole!” Keora spat.

  “You know him?” I asked her. She and Adika told me what happened between them and Xavier at Keora’s home. I could not believe the lengths Xavier was willing to take his pack through to get to me. Adika also told me that Xavier is the reason she dumped Izra. She let Xavier see her as a witch and she was afraid he would blow her cover.

  “I was going to put a spell on him and his whole pack, but someone else is taking care of it. She told me not to worry and that it was time for her to step in. I cannot overstep her commands! So, if she wants me to back off, that shall be!” Adika said. I was ready to respond until I heard Xavier’s annoying voice.

  “Well, well look at what we have here!” Xavier said sniffing my neck. I growled at him then he chuckled. “Cute, very cute! You do know this is my newest club, don’t you? We bought it yesterday! This is my territory now!” Xavier said to me. The other wolves with him growled at us with their pupils changing. Xavier use to be attractive to me, he resembled Channing Tatum in a way. Xavier had a few tattoos on his arm and around his neck. If you close your eyes and talk to him, you wouldn’t be able to believe he was white.

  Xavier looked at Adika then smiled. “Meow!” he said laughing at her. He looked at Keora. “I like this college girl look better on you!” he said to her caressing her cheek. His body flew across the dance floor crashing down onto the bar counter. Keora laughed then sipped her drink. “How did she do that?” I wondered.

  “These are different wolves! Xavier is building up his pack! Goon and his pack will be outnumbered!” Adika said to me in my head.

  “Wait a minute! You can pop up in my head too?” I asked her.

  “Only when I’m close to you! It’s a witch thing!” she answered.

  “I need to leave!” I said to them getting up. Xavier appeared in front of me smiling.

  “The potion he stole from Keora made him stronger and faster!” Adika’s voice boomed in my head. The other wolves circled around me then I took off running through the crowd. When I got outside into the parking lot, I shifted into my beast. I crept along the cars and waited for Xavier to come out. The doors burst opened and the sounds of growls could be heard. It was only us outside in the empty parking lot.

  “Where’s Lassie?” Xavier called out to me, the rest of his pack laughed. I felt a presence next to me, when I looked beside me; it was a black and gray spotted, over-sized large cat that resembled a panther. The only difference is that the cat is narrow in structure and had a pointy face with point
y ears.

  “It’s me!” Adika said in my head.

  “Beautiful!” I said admiring Adika’s beast.

  Adika and I crept along the cars until we were behind them. Xavier’s pack shifted, we are outnumbered! It was only Adika and me against four of them. When I got a clear view of Xavier, I ran then jumped on him. I sank my teeth into his neck. Adika leaped on one of the wolves clawing at their eyes.

  Keora landed out of the sky with long dreaded hair that moved around like snakes. Xavier and I rolled around biting each other and clawing each other. He is bigger and stronger than I am; he slung me into a car causing the windows to shatter out. I am injured and bleeding, he charged into me…

  “No more shots, Izra!” I said to him over the loud music. A dark-skinned busty stripper danced in his lap while he slapped her ass cheeks.

  Amadi and Elle threw money at the stripper as she entertained Izra. When the music went off, she picked up her money then left our section. I sipped my smooth cognac straight listening to the rap music they played throughout the club.
