“Always. Gets you out of my room.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Julia asked. “You know, I have to still deal with Miss Carson too. And Principal Henders. And your parents.”
“You’re forever my hero,” I said as I put my hands together.
“I’m on your side. I just want you safe.”
“I’m sitting on my bed,” I said. “Alone. I have nothing to hide. Check the drawers. Check the closet. Check under the bed.”
“You worried about monsters?” Julia asked.
I laughed.
Julia had no idea…
She left the room.
The second the door clicked, I looked down to the floor.
Out slid Wes, his face looking up at me.
“Shit, why didn’t you two just have fucking coffee and a sleepover?” he growled. “You know how uncomfortable it is under there?”
I kept laughing.
Watching this giant hunk slither his way from under my bed.
I bite my lip and looked to the bedroom door.
I just couldn’t help myself with Wes.
He was the only one who ever really believed me and could protect me.
I was in no position to be sneaking a guy over, but oh well.
It wasn’t the first time.
And it wouldn’t be the last.
