“OK. OK.” Dean threw his hands up. “How about outpatient rehab?” Withdrawal overwhelmed him anyway. “Can I do that?”
Wow, he had learned a lesson. Dominic’s mouth turned up slightly. “Best idea you ever had.” He had been worried Dean would be a mess by the tour. “I’ll find you somewhere discreet. Can you deal until then?”
“Yeah.” Dean nodded, determined not to fuck up again. “Just one question. Uh…” His hands clenched into fists. “How do I stop my hands from shaking?”
Dominic groaned. It was worse than he thought. “Have you been sober at all the last few months?”
“No. Sorry.” For the first time in his life, Dean was embarrassed to admit he couldn’t deal with life sober any longer. “I’ll really do it this time.”
Those were empty words to Dominic. They were spoken after every relapse. Well, after Dean was caught, that was. “If this doesn’t help, it’s detox again. Got it?”
“Yeah.”
Dean hung his head in defeat. He had almost nothing left. Soul-searching was all he had done since Jon and the crew left his place. It had been standard to blame his father for his problems. However, he knew it was just an excuse. The last time he was in rehab, group therapy had helped him deal with his abusive childhood. Although the past still haunted him at times, it no longer ruled his life. He just didn’t know how to live like everyone else.
Glad it was settled, Noelle watched Dean. He looked like a lost puppy. It was easy to feel sorry for him. She could see how women were attracted to his bad boy attitude and sad eyes. If only he could tame his sadistic side. She had heard a few stories about him that she wished she hadn’t.
“Let me make a few calls.” Dominic glared at Dean. “Touch her and you die.” His eyes bore into Dean’s. “No fucking joke.” He didn’t trust Dean for shit.
Dean’s hands went up. “I swear. Hands off.”
With a last stare for good measure, Dominic walked down the hallway to the kitchen. He sat at the table and pulled up his contacts. He had three facilities listed. Unsure which had outpatient services, he called the first one to check.
Dean looked around the room. Then sat in his recliner and picked up the television remote. “Do you have a preference?”
On the couch, Noelle replied, “No. Thanks, though.”
She sat there quietly and waited for Dominic to return. Her attention alternated between the television and Dean. She hoped it worked out, but her gut told her it would only get worse.
Dominic eventually came back in the room. “OK. I got you in starting tomorrow.” He sat next to Dean and patted his knee. “You need to stay sober all day today, or you’ll have to go to detox first. That means no drugs, alcohol, nothing. But you need to drink water. Got it?”
“I can do it.” Dean was the opposite of confident. However, he wanted things to work. “I swear I didn’t take nothing yet.” Inside, his heart sank. He craved alcohol. “I can do it.” He tried to convince himself more than Dominic.
Chapter 5
After a spontaneous shopping trip, Noelle and Dominic headed to his apartment. She sat in the passenger seat and tried not to be upset that he spent over a thousand dollars on her.
When he told her that he wanted to buy her clothes and necessities, she protested. Then he reminded her she wasn’t prepared to stay there so long, and she relented. She was perturbed because Dominic had bought the clothes she decided fit but cost too much when she looked away.
“I got clothes, too,” Dominic reminded her. “Please, just let it go.”
Noelle glared at him. “I told you no gifts.”
She hated how Stephen, her ex-fiancé, used to lavish her her with gifts after he had cheated. After a while, she realized flowers meant he had gotten head. Jewelry meant he had gotten laid. A special night out was because he found a new mistress.
“Honey, please stop comparing us.” He was slightly hurt she hadn’t let it go yet. “I swear, I’ll never cheat on you. When you need something, I’m gonna buy it. Get used to it. You’re my girlfriend, and I’m a rock star. Money like that is nothing to me. It’ll be the same way for you one day.”
She bit her quivering lip. Then she watched him let the anger and hurt go. She didn’t realize how much her fears affected him. “I’m sorry.” Several tears fell down her cheeks. “He was…” She pulled her lips in and closed her eyes. “I’m sorry. You’re right.” She sniffled. “It’s just that… sometimes… I guess I worry.”
“You don’t trust me?” He gripped the steering wheel tightly.
She shook her head. “No. I mean I do. Sometimes I don’t trust me—my judgment. I was so clueless for so long.”
With a sigh, he pulled off the road, onto the shoulder. Then he turned to her. “He was a good liar. I suck at it.” He smiled and tried to make her do the same. All she did was stare at her hands in her lap. “Look at me. Please.” When she didn’t, he grabbed her hand. “Noelle? Look at me.”
Tears fell. She met his loving gaze. “I’m a horrible girlfriend.”
“You’re not.” He lifted her chin with his other hand. Then he kissed her lips. “You’re scared. This is real, and it’s working. Me and you.” He kissed her again. “We got something that doesn’t come around every day. It’s our second chance. Take it for what it is, please.”
With a nod, Noelle threw her arms around his neck. “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, it’s OK.” He held her and closed his eyes. When she relaxed, he ran his fingers through her hair. “You said baby steps yesterday. Remember?”
She took in a shaky breath. “Yeah.”
“Let’s go home and relax. It’s been a long day already.” They had been busy for hours. “Tonight it’s just you and me.”
When Noelle pulled back, she met Dominic’s eyes. “OK.” She sat in her seat and looked out the window. “I love you.”
Dominic covered her hand with his. “I love you, too.”
He took a deep breath and eased back onto the road. Thoughts of her at home and naked dominated his mind. He planned to relief the stress of the day with her body. The erotic thoughts made blood rushed to his groin. A glance to his right, told him Noelle had relaxed. The slight smile on her face made him wonder if she thought the same as him.
Suddenly, his phone in the center console went off. “Can you get that?”
“Hello?” Noelle had seen Dean’s name, but wasn’t sure what he could want.
An unfamiliar voice said, “This is Mercy Hospital. I’m looking for a relative of Dean Johnson. This is the last number called.”
“Um, hold on, please.” Noelle’s hand shook as she pulled the phone away from her ear. “Dominic… the hospital.” She looked at him. Worry took over. “Something happened to Dean.”
Dominic jerked the wheel and skidded to a stop on the shoulder again. “What?” He grabbed his phone. “This is Dominic. I’m Dean’s brother.” He knew he had to lie to get information. “Is he OK?”
“We have him stable. He was dehydrated and had a seizure.”
Eyes closed, Dominic punched the steering wheel. “Oh, shit.” He couldn’t believe he missed yet another sign. However, Dean didn’t look too bad when he left. “Did you do a tox screen?”
“Nothing in his system. Is he going through detox?”
Dominic exhaled with relief. “Yes. I should have gotten him into a program sooner.”
“Don’t blame yourself. When he woke up, he admitted that he didn’t eat or drink anything in more than 24 hours. That’s what did it.”
“So he’s OK, then?” Dominic leaned back. The guilt subsided.
The reply came quickly. “Yes. Sitting up and eating Jell-O as we speak. He was afraid to call you. Said you’d be furious.”
“I am, but I’m glad he’s OK. We’ll be there soon.” Dominic ended the call and turned to Noelle. “He passed out. You mind if we make a short detour?”
She smiled. “Let’s go. I know you need to see he’s really fine.” Just like Dominic,
she had been thinking of being alone at home. She needed to be in his arms. It would have to wait.
The trip to the hospital was short since they weren’t far away. Noelle’s hand in his, Dominic led her through the hallways and searched for room E415. He had been in and out of that hospital hundreds of times, but it was his first time in the new wing. Visiting hours were about to end. He hoped they weren’t kicked out before they reached the room.
“There it is.” Noelle pointed across the nurse’s station.
They approached the room slowly, and Dominic shook his head when he heard a giggle. He peeked in and saw a nurse leaning over Dean, his hand under her top.
“Are we interrupting?” Dominic asked. The nurse jumped back, blushed and raced out of the room. “Guess so.” He smiled and tried not to laugh. “Seems you feel better.”
Dean grinned. “Yeah. She’s a fan. If I could hold my hips up, I’d fuck her.” He looked less frail than he felt. “Sorry, Dom.” He stared at his hands. “I was going to take a drive to clear my mind. After I locked the door, I hit the floor. Next thing I knew, I was here. I freaked out a bit, but Chloe there calmed me down.” He waved at the door. “Did I ruin your plans?”
“No.” Noelle stepped forward and looked Dean over. He was pale and looked off. “We needed to check on you.”
Dominic didn’t like that she moved closer to Dean but was glad she had a mothering instinct. “Do you need anything?”
“Nah. They’re keeping me here until I go to that rehab place.” Dean sighed. “I called them and told them what happened. I’ll be staying for detox just in case.” He glanced up. “I promise I’ll do it this time. I will.”
Dominic hoped he did. “Good.”
He quickly scanned Dean and the equipment around him. The IV in his arm was connected to a bag of saline. They had a heart monitor on him, which worried him, but better safe than sorry. He didn’t look healthy at all; much worse than earlier.
“I’ll let Jon and Tommy know you’re OK.” Dominic pulled out his phone. He wanted to hurry the visit along. He sent a text off to them both to update them on the situation. “Good thing the album’s done.”
Dean nodded. “Yeah, be hard to record from rehab.”
“You OK?” Noelle placed a hand on Dominic’s back as she moved closer to him. Then she whispered, “He looks like he’s doing fine.”
Dominic put an arm around her shoulders. Then he leaned down and quietly replied, “He’s in good hands at least.” After he kissed her temple, he looked up. “We’re gonna take off. I’ll check on you in a few days.” They started for the door.
“Hey, Dom.” Dean lay back on the bed. When Dominic turned, he continued, “Thanks for everything.”
Dominic smiled and nodded. “Sure. Later.”
Chapter 6
Tommy stumbled up the stairs. Since he knew he had had way too much to drink, he didn’t hesitate to leave his car in the parking lot. He had taken a cab to Dominic’s since it was closer to the club he had been at most of the night. It took him almost a full minute to find the right key to open the apartment door. He took off his shoes as soon as he had the door open so that he would be quieter.
When he fell onto the couch, his ears pricked up. Moans echoed down the hallway. It took him a while to remember Noelle was there. Hmm, this could be fun.
He stood carefully and walked toward the noise. With a grin, he stood in the bedroom doorway, he watched as Dominic made love to Noelle. The sheet and blanket were bunched up at their feet as they ground into each other. It was the second time he had found them fucking. He licked his lips. Every once in a while, he caught a glimpse of nipple or pussy. His own cock grew as he stared.
Dominic was oblivious to their audience. After the hospital, they both took a nap. Then he woke Noelle up with a massage. Sex came soon after. He held her shoulders, as he pumped his hips quickly. Her quiet gasps had him at the edge as always. To control the urge to let go, he shut his eyes and buried his face in her hair. Her pleasure was more important to him. She needed him to make her feel treasured after the emotional day.
Her back arched, and she cried out, “Dominic! Ah, God!”
Hips up and head back, she was shocked by the sheer power of her third orgasm. His lips brushed over her neck. She shivered. As usual, he angled his hips and pushed into her sweet spot within as she thrashed, consumed by pleasure. She clutched his arms, unable to see, overwhelmed by the continued ecstasy. How does he do this to me?
Tommy had his jeans open by then. The scene before him was too hot for him not to touch himself. He stroked his cock slowly and hoped he got to see more of Noelle’s body. When she seemed to come back to reality finally, she nudged Dominic’s shoulder, and he rolled them over. Her on top was perfect. He practically drooled as she rode his best friend. Her breasts bounced, and her hot-ass body rocked up and down. He couldn’t stand it any longer.
As soon as she leaned down to kiss Dominic, Tommy climbed on the bed behind her, careful not to touch Dominic and alert him. He spit on his hand a few times and rubbed it onto his erection. Then he guided it to her back door. When he pushed into her slightly, she screamed.
Dominic’s eyes opened. “Get the fuck away from her!” He couldn’t believe Tommy was on the bed with them.
“He’s trying to fuck my ass!” Noelle cried out. She wanted to cover up, but Tommy was on the blanket.
Dominic peered around her body, and his eyes opened wide. “What the hell? You see her, and you take your dick out? Close your pants! I’m not sharing her!” He tried to get out from under Noelle, but she was frozen in place.
“Just this once,” Tommy begged; his drunkenness evident in his voice. “We’ll make her scream like crazy.” He ran his hands over her ass cheeks. “Sweet ass.”
“She’s not Crystal!” Dominic told him. “She’s not into that.” He was tired of Tommy denying he had a thing for Triple Threat’s bassist, Crystal Atkinson.
Noelle felt Tommy’s denim-clad thighs against hers again. She was a bit curious about threesomes, but she was afraid to admit it. With a look back at him, she imagined it would be something to remember. Both of their hands on her did feel good, Dominic caressed her back as Tommy did the same to her backside and thighs. She was torn by what she wanted at that moment. Tommy’s dick, which stood out before him, told her how much he wanted her. Would it be so bad to try it?
“You want him?” Dominic saw the conflicted expression on her face. “Do you wanna do this? I’ll do it if you want it.” He couldn’t hide the slight pain the words caused. Her fucking Tommy was not something he wanted to see.
She shook her head, sure it would hurt him if she even mentioned her curiosity. Without another thought, she moved her body forward and kissed Dominic on the lips. “I only want you.”
“Fine.” Tommy pouted. “Then I will call Crystal. She rarely leaves me with blue balls.” He didn’t move, though.
Tommy stared at her pussy, still filled with Dominic’s dick. Slowly, she rocked back and took it all again. Damn, that’s hot. Her puckered hole called to him. He debated if he should lick it to try to get her into it. Instead, he slid his shaft between her ass cheeks.
“You sure you wanna turn this down?” He rubbed the head over her rear opening and smeared it with pre-cum. When she pushed back on him, he smiled. “It’ll feel real good.” He licked his lips and hoped she agreed.
She looked back at him and bit her lower lip. He was sexy as hell, but not Dominic. “I love Dominic. That’s the way it’s gonna stay.”
“Wow, you sound like how Crystal used to be.” He laughed. “I fucked that shit right outta her. Got my hands on her the day after she moved in and fucked her so good she couldn’t resist me again.” It wasn’t the entire truth but close enough for the moment.
He missed having her at his place. To turn over and fuck her first thing in the morning, was the perfect way to start his day. The day she woke him up with a blowjob was the best. He opened his eyes and looked down his b
ody. His entire dick in her mouth. Then she put a condom on him and rode him like a fucking cowgirl. He came so hard; he swore he passed out for a few seconds. She had the perfect pussy.
“Tom, out!” Dominic knew Tommy was in a daydream, but he also still had his hands on his woman. “Now.”
With a shake his head, Tommy backed up and set his feet on the floor. “I’ll be on the couch. Wake me up if you change your mind. I’ll leave my dick out.”
He faced the door and staggered toward it. Dizzy, he grabbed the doorframe to steady himself and took a breath. He had drunk a lot more than planned. While he held onto the walls and anything else within reach, he made his way to the couch. Before he sat, he stripped himself naked in the hope Noelle would be tempted when she found him there the next day. Once laid out, his eyes closed. He gripped his erection and sighed. No pussy sucked.
Across the apartment, Dominic seethed. “I’m sorry about him.”
“Not your fault.” She kissed his lips and smiled. “He was seriously lit up.”
He nodded. “True. He’s never touched one of my girlfriends before. I’m kinda pissed.”
“I can tell.” She palmed his cheek. “Let it go. Please. He had beer balls. You know how it goes when you’re drunk.” She looked away, as she remembered her incident with Mitchell.
He moved his hands to her face. “Hey, don’t go there. You didn’t know what you were doing, and we weren’t together, then. He took advantage of your state of mind.”
“Don’t blame him,” she whispered. “He didn’t realize it was the alcohol talking. When I screamed, he got so upset. He hated that he assumed. Mitchell would never intentionally take advantage. He’s a good guy.”
Dominic tried not to imagine Mitchell fucking Noelle, but the image came anyway. He trusted her, so knew she hadn’t lied, but had Mitchell? While she was passed out, did he fuck her and just say he didn’t? He shook his head. Mitchell was not a bad guy deep down, only he had a thing for his girlfriend. He couldn’t imagine Mitchell had disrespected her like that. She didn’t trust many, yet she trusted him.
