Ellie was helping Abby plan their joining ceremony for when she had decided to move in with the guys. She hadn’t yet agreed to marry either of them officially. She didn’t like choosing and wanted to do the joining ceremony first. The attack seemed to have pushed up her plans by a weekend maybe, but not by much.
“What are you thinking about so hard over there?” Kermit asked her in a soft voice.
“I was just thinking about the triathlon you’re doing,” she fibbed. “How long before you start working out in the water to adjust to the water?” she asked.
“Not for another week or two,” he said. “Anxious to get back into the water?”
“Yeah, but mostly I just want to fool around in the pool with you like we used to do. Think Heath will deal with playing in the water if it includes me?” she asked with a grin.
“Heath will tolerate anything if it involves fooling around with you, Abby girl,” the man said, rolling over to glare at her. “Talk about me much when I’m asleep?”
“No. I knew you were awake and would hear me. You snore when you’re asleep,” she told him.
“Do not,” he grumbled.
“Do so,” she and Kermit both said at the same time.
