‘Piece-a-fucking-crap,’ he roared, turning to face Stalin’s onslaught. No one’d ever say there were any reverse gears on Rossi Francis Assisi Callaghan….
She met him halfway, lunging for his throat, the huge fangs bared, the mouth a vast black hole that blotted out the whole world….
Rossi, ducking under it, so the jaws clamped down either side of his head, actually heard the first ripping of flesh being torn from his skull.

Acknowledgments
There are many people I need to thank in relation to this book. Firstly, Marsha Swan more-or-less resurrected my stalled writing career when she decided to publish THE BIG O with Hag’s Head Press in 2007, for which I will always be grateful.
I was also very grateful to the following writers, who were kind enough to read THE BIG O in manuscript and provide words of encouragement and / or a blurb. They are, in no particular order: Ken Bruen, Ray Banks, Allan Guthrie, Reed Farrel Coleman, Adrian McKinty, John McFetridge, Jason Starr, Brian McGilloway and Tim Maleeny. I was also delighted when the wonderful Stacia Decker signed THE BIG O to a US deal.
I’d like to thank JT Lindroos for his excellent design work for the cover of the e-version of THE BIG O.
My agent, Allan Guthrie, deserves a special mention for his unique brand of agenting, which just so happens to suit me perfectly.
And finally, I would be nowhere as a writer if wasn’t for the support and encouragement of the readers of my blog, Crime Always Pays. This book is dedicated to them.
