She jumped, making her lovely bare breasts bounce. “You scared me.” She scampered away from where she'd been standing near a full-length mirror and climbed atop the bed.

“Sorry,” he murmured, closing the door. He quirked a brow at her, which she ignored and made herself comfortable against the pillows. “Yes?”

“There's to be a baby,” she said in her usual way.

“I see.” He stripped off his coat, waistcoat and cravat, then strolled over to the bed and sat on the edge. “Is it Alex and Caroline?”

  She shook her head.

“No? Hmm.” He crawled up onto the bed on his hands and knees. “Elijah and Amelia?”

  She shook her head again.

“No again?” He moved his left knee over her to straddle her and then dropped a kiss on her lips. “Then it must be Edwina and Sir Wallace.”

“No. It's not any of your brothers or sister.”

“Oh, I see.” He pressed a row of kisses down the column of her throat. “Brooke and Andrew? They're always breeding.”

She giggled. “They might be; but if so, they haven't told me.”

“Paul and Liberty,” he murmured as he kissed his way down the valley between her supple breasts.

“No, not them,” she said on a sigh, digging her fingers into his hair.

That only left one other possibility. “Be sure to send my congratulations to Madison next time you write her a letter.”

“I will.” Laura arched her back and Henry closed his hands over her breasts. “Although, she might ask me why I'm congratulating her.”

“On the baby,” he reminded her.

“But she's not having a baby.”

Henry lifted his head and tried to hide the terror he felt, but knew he'd failed horribly when Laura giggled. “Isn't my aunt too old?” Henry asked bluntly.

“Probably,” Laura confirmed. “But it's not her baby that we're celebrating.”

“Then whose?” he asked, not daring to hope for the one thing both of them had been reluctant to ever put voice to.

She smiled and moved his hands from her breasts down to her abdomen. “Ours.”

  About the Author

USA Today Bestselling Author Rose Gordon has written eight unusually unusual historical romances that have been known to include scarred heroes, feisty heroines, marriage-producing scandals, far too much scheming, naughty literature and always a sweet happily-ever-after. When not escaping to another world via reading or writing a book, she spends her time chasing two young boys around the house, being hunted by wild animals, or sitting on the swing in the backyard where she has to use her arms as shields to deflect projectiles AKA: balls, water balloons, sticks, pinecones, and anything else one of her boys picks up to hurl at his brother who just happens to be hiding behind her.
