“Where is Arweyn,” he demanded angrily, fearing for her safety. Detaine smirked at him and then leaned in close to his face.

“I believe my son is taking care of her,” he whispered darkly.

  “If he touches her…”

“And what Kainan, what are you going to do about it,” Detaine said, cutting him off and sneering at him. Kainan swallowed hard, his eyes burning into Detaine’s.

“Enough of this chit chat.” He looked at Gareion. “I see you have become acquainted with your brother. Well, at least you will have known each other for a few hours.” His tone was menacing. “Move yourselves,” he ordered, pushing them out through the cell door. “Oh yes by the way, take a look in that cell.” Kainan peered into the cell as they walked passed.

“Freelander, Porlock, Pernash you are all still alive!” Kainan cried, grabbing hold of the cell door, relieved to see his friends alive. The men jumped up and rushed over to the cell door.

“My Lord. We are sorry it all happened so fast, they dragged us under.” Porlock stopped and looked at the Elf. “There are more of them,” he whispered, warningly. Kainan nodded.

  “What about, Caspella and Arnickle?”

“If you are referring to the large cats,” Detaine interrupted. “We have them too; they may be useful to us. So don’t expect a rescue party Kainan, go on move.” Detaine ordered shoving him hard across the back. Kainan stumbled forward, shooting a threatening glance at Detaine. There may not be a rescue party but Drew was still out there somewhere, he hoped.

Twenty Five - Revenge of the Gorzars

Her hands bound by carpelweed, the female Gorzar Elira dragged her through the opening. Arweyn screamed she could not believe her own eyes.

“Mother! You are still alive. I knew it; I just knew you were not dead!” Arweyn cried; she was overjoyed. After all this time her mother was alive and she was standing here in front of her. She was a woman of great beauty, tall and elegant with long dark hair piled high on top in loose curls. She wore a long green dress corseted to the front with a golden thread, with puffed sleeves which pulled in at the elbow. She spun around at the sound of the voice.

“Arweyn, my Arweyn.” Her eyes widened with excitement as she saw her daughter looking at her, she hardly dare believe it! Her precious daughter; whom she had not seen for over three years. Three long ghastly years she had been kept a prisoner by this sorceress. She had been held in a room with a magic spell about it, which somehow had stopped her from being able to use her own powers. Every time she left the room her hands would be bound with carpelweed. Because of the magic woven into this weed, it too stopped her from using her powers. Where the sorceress had got it from she had no idea. She had never, in all her thirty eight years come across anything like it.

Then she stopped as it dawned on her the danger her daughter was in. She turned to the older woman standing by her side, who was reading through a small book. She was tall in stature and wearing a long red and blue gown which was tinged with fringes of gold. She wore long deep blue gloves that covered her hands and her arms, and a golden mask that covered half her face; her wispy grey hair fell to her waist.

“What do you want with Arweyn? I told you I will open the portal, I can read the Book of Chants. You do not need her, untie her and let her leave at once,” she demanded.

“Hush Elanor, your daughter is the key that will unlock the portal. I need both of you,” the woman scorned, the corners of her mouth turning down annoyed at the interruption to her thoughts. She was reading through a book of spells, not the one she had wanted, but nevertheless she had thought, something of interest may be hidden within it.

“How did you know she was my daughter?” Lady Elanor demanded. They had tried so hard to keep the fact that Arweyn was half Faerling a secret from everyone.

Zarnora slammed the book shut and smiled. “I had some inside help my dear,” she crowed, waving her hand towards the door, where a tall man dressed in black had just walked through.

“Lothar!” Lady Elanor cursed under her breath; this was one man she detested. He disgusted her. She shot a worrying glance at her daughter. He had always wanted her ever since she was a child. It was the one thing that had concerned her most about being away from her all this time. That, that evil bastard would have gotten his hands on her.

“My Lady,” he bowed graciously. Lady Elanor glared at him.

“I do not understand, what is going on?”

“Is it not obvious dear Lady Elanor,” he said. Turning to Zarnora he held out his hands.

“Hello grandmother.” She reached forward to him and held his hands. He brought them up to his face and kissed her hands affectionately. Zarnora smiled and stoked his head.

“My grandson.” She turned to Lady Elanor angrily. “Do you realise that today was the first time I held my own grandson in my arms.” She looked back to him and began stroking his brow affectionately. “Trapped all those years on Malgar; well now our time has come. Where is your father?”

“He is getting the prisoners grandmother,” he said, tipping his head back towards the door he had just come through.

“Good, then perhaps we can finally begin. Do you have the Ardor Crystal?”

“Yes.” Lothar lifted the sack in his hands, tapping it.

“Excellent, now we are ready. Everything has finally come to this day,” she crowed, smiling. Turning she looked at Arweyn’s mother. “Why Elanor you look surprised?”

“You have taken our Crystal? How? I do not understand. Why have you done this, why have you betrayed our people?” She shot a furtive look at her daughter. What was going on? Her daughter was here, the Crystal was here. Her mind was racing, what could have happened to Malgar?

“Our people Elanor! We are not your people, our people are the Gorzars,” she replied indignantly.

Lady Elanor raised her eyebrow questioningly. “What do you mean?” she asked nervously.

“I think grandmother that it is time for us to return to our own image and finally be rid of this disgusting disguise. I want to see myself as I truly am. I do not want to look like this when you bring the family home.”

  Zarnora nodded her agreement.

“Yes my boy I agree, but let us wait for your father. He will want to do it with you.”

Nodding he looked over at Arweyn; and grinning lewdly at her, he licked his lips.

“Well if I’ve got some time on my hands,” he said grinning, and putting the sack down he walked towards her.

Arweyn shuddered as he approached her. She had no idea what was going on. She could not believe after all this time her mother was still alive and standing there in front of her. Walking straight up to her he stopped. Smiling his eyebrow rose expectantly and slowly lifting his hand he ran it across her face putting a finger under her chin. Arweyn trembled as he touched her. Her hands were tied behind her back with carpelweed making impossible for her to push him away. She stood frozen with his finger still under her chin, too afraid to move. He took her cloak and threw it around the back of her shoulders. Staring down at her breasts he grinned. Then reaching around her with both arms he cupped his hands around her bottom, pulling the lower half of her body towards him, his leg pressed hard between her thighs. Arweyn tried to swallow the lump in her throat as the frightful image of what he wanted to do to her flashed strongly in her mind. Grabbing the back of her head and pulling her forward, he forced his lips onto hers, his tongue searching her mouth.

She struggled, fighting to pull her face away from him. Releasing her, he licked his lips and laughed. “Now finally you will be mine. I told you I would finish it. This time there will be no-one to stop me,” he said, threateningly. Arweyn shook as she continued to try and pull away from him. She felt a rush of panic flood through her at the thought of him touching her, and taking her. Tears glistened in her eyes, she desperately wanted Kainan, where was he? He had to be alive, he had to be. Her breathing quickened with the fear, and her chest began rising and falling erratically a
s panic began to overwhelm her. It was all she could do to hold herself together. Surely he was not going to take her now, not in front of everyone, in front of her mother?

“Leave her alone!” her mother screamed at him. She could not bear to watch him molesting her daughter. Lunging forward at him she tried to knock him out of the way with her shoulder.

“Be silent!” Lothar ordered, raising his voice, and with the back of his hand he struck her hard across her face as she approached him. Lady Elanor stumbled, falling backwards on to the floor. She sat stunned for a moment, and blood trickled from a split in her lower lip.

“Mother!” Arweyn screamed frantically as she watched her fall. Turning back to him she spat in his face.

“I hate you!” she screamed, sobbing at the same time. Lothar wiped his hand across his face, and then suddenly striking out fast he slapped her across her cheek knocking her flying. She spun around, falling flat on her face. She gasped a breath to regain the wind that had been so abruptly knocked out of her.

He seized her by her hair and roughly pulled her back onto her feet. She screamed in pain.

“Shut up bitch!” he yelled, inches from her face. “I will have you, I will not wait any longer!” he promised, shooting a glare at her mother. Turning his attention back at Arweyn, his dark black eyes were piercing and menacing, full of evil and contempt. Arweyn shook as she tried to hold on to her courage but she knew he meant it.

“And I will do it in my own form, not in this Groundling body,” he pulled her face even closer to his, and she could feel his hot breath on her. Running his fingers in between her breasts, groping at her, his tongue swirled around his mouth suggestively. “If you oblige me I might even think about letting your mother live!” She turned her face away from him. He was sick, and what did he mean his own form? She knew she would rather die than have him take her.

Lady Elanor pulled herself to her feet. Her heart ached for a daughter in the hands of this mad man, but bound with this magic rope she could do nothing to help her, she was forced to watch helplessly.

“Lothar, that’s enough. We have not yet finished with them. When the portal is open then you can have her and do what you want. Until them she must remain unharmed.” His grandmother shook her head at him.

“Yes grandmother, I’m sorry. I have waited so long for her, so long for this day.” Leaning forward his tongue licked up the side of her neck, and he sucked on her ear. Then pulling back he kissed the air at her sarcastically, shoving her aside.

“I know my boy, and you will not have to wait much longer I promise. In a few hours you can have her and do what you want with her.” She stopped, interrupted by a commotion coming through the door. “Ah here comes my beloved son.”

Detaine walked through the door. Behind him followed Hadzor and Tarpel. An elf pushed Kainan and Gareion forward. Stumbling they fell into the chamber. Kainan quickly looked around assessing his surroundings, yet more Dark Elves. Kainan counted quickly seven, plus the one with them. He looked over and there she was.

“Arweyn!” he cried, with relief, his heart ached as he looked at her, she had been crying.

“Are you okay?” he called to her anxiously, looking over towards Lothar, if that bastard had touched her.

“Kainan!” she cried, finally he was here. She knew in her heart he was still alive, but she was so relieved to see him. “I’m all right,” she reassured him, her heart bursting at the sight of him. All she wanted to do was run to him, to have him hold her and tell her everything would be all right. She pulled at her bindings, blast these things, why could she not get them undone?

Lothar stood with his arms folded, laughing and shaking his head at them. Looking at Kainan he scowled and turning he walked back to Arweyn.

“Don’t worry Kainan, I haven’t had her yet.” He grabbed hold of her right arm hard and ran his other hand down her face, across her lips, down her throat. Then turning he looked back at Kainan taunting him. He continued running his hand slowly down the front of her dress and slipping his hand inside her dress he cupped his hand over her breast, squeezing it hard. “Oh but I will,” he laughed, raising his eyebrows at her.

Arweyn turned her face away from him; tears rolled down her face.

“Get your hands of her you bastard!” Kainan screamed at him. He drove an elbow into the Elf’s face, knocking him aside. He sidestepped Tarpel, and made a run for Lothar. Hadzor shot forward grabbing him, pulling him back before he reached him. Kainan was seething. He stared hard at Lothar. He knew there had been something wrong about him, about his father. Lothar pulled his hand out her dress and laughed as he watched Kainan being restrained.

“You touch her again and I will kill you!” Kainan fumed, pulling at his bound wrists trying to get them undone, pulling at them until his wrists bled.

“You’ll kill me will you eh, if I just touch her,” Lothar’s eyes glared at him and Kainan back stared hard, he could feel his eyes beginning to glow, and his body shook. But no matter how hard he tried he could not release his rage, this carpelweed that bound him suppressed all his magic.

“Do not!” Kainan warned in a quiet but deadly voice.

“Oh Kainan come just one little taste eh, to keep me going. I’ve waited so long for her, since she was a child.” He stopped, his nostrils flaring angrily as he looked at her then back at Kainan. “And you, you come along and in moments she’s all over you like a rash!” Turning he looked pleadingly at his father, his eyes were wide with desperation.

Detaine lifted his head, nodding his approval. This was to be his son’s first blood; he knew he had waited a long time for this moment. He had hoped his son would have been in his true form, but he could see the desperation and need in Lothar’s eyes. “Slowly Lothar,” he warned. “You do not want to kill her, we still need her. Just give her a taste of what is to come.” Lothar grinned at his father.

“NO!” Kainan screamed, lurching forward in agonised torment. Hadzor raising the back of his sword whacked Kainan hard across his chest bringing him to his knees, and then punched him on the side of his head. Kainan gasped as the air was knocked out of him and he fell to his side. His head rose just as Lothar reached his hand forward to her. Arweyn shook with extreme terror. Her eyes stared at Lothar’s hand as it came towards her. Violently he ripped at her dress pulling it off her shoulder and with one swift movement he swiped her neck with his long finger nail. Blood began oozing from the wound, trickling like a snake down her neck. Arweyn felt her stomach churn, and her legs go weak. She closed her eyes as she felt his tongue slowly lap up the blood from her neck, his hands tight on her shoulders so she could not move. She felt him sucking hard at her neck, shuddering with pleasure.

“Lothar!” his father called in warning. Lothar’s eyes glared at his father’s voice. “Lothar, that’s enough,” Detaine’s voice was more forceful. Lothar moved his mouth away from her, licking his bloodied lips satisfactorily, and then wiping them with the back of his hand. His eyes were totally black with evil and they stared at her, his chest rose and fell with the pleasure. He leaned into her and whispered. “Soon I will have all of you.” Arweyn felt her legs give way. Lothar caught her, and then nodded to an Elf who ran to him. Turning to Kainan, he grinned, putting his face into her hair he inhaled. “She is even sweeter that I could have imagined.” Kainan’s fury overwhelmed him, he swallowed hard, he was going to kill him, even if it was the last thing he ever did.

Elanor shook at what he was doing to her daughter.

“STOP it Lothar please, leave her alone!” she screamed, trying to push passed Zarnora. She was terrified for her daughter. Then she looked at Kainan as he pulled himself to his feet. He wanted to protect her daughter, there appeared to be something going on between them that was obvious. But who was he? She looked at Gareion then back at Kainan, they were almost identical.

Lothar passed Arweyn over to the Elf and returned to the side of his father.

“Elanor you are alive!” Gareion exclaimed as he caugh
t her eye. Kainan looked at him then back at Lady Elanor.

“Arweyn your mother?” Kainan swung her a desperate glance; she nodded back at him, trying desperately to hold back her tears. She felt so weak.

“Yes Gareion, I am alive. I have been held captive here all these years, but what are you doing here and who is he?” She questioned, nodding towards Kainan.

  “He is my brother Elanor.”

“Your brother?” She shook her head; she didn’t understand any of this. Turning towards Detaine, her heart pounded with anger at the mere sight of him.

“What is going on Allaine? How could you let him do that to my daughter!” she cursed at him. Walking over to her laughing, he raised his hands to the side of her face, slowly moving his hand into her hair.

“My dear Elanor, we do what is necessary.”

“What of Elijah, was he necessary? Did you have him killed too?” she screamed, pulling at the bindings on her wrists.

“Father, he had my father killed?” Arweyn cried in disbelief, shooting a desperate glance at the man she had lived with and called uncle for the last few years.

Detaine shrugged his shoulders. “What can I say, he got in the way.”

His hand moved down to Lady Elanor’s cut lip; wiping her blood away with his thumb, he licked it, raising his eyebrows at her. “Mmm, Elanor, I have always found you most attractive.” He glanced across to her daughter and then back at her. “Why should my son have all the fun?” Raising his eyebrow again he licked his lips, staring at her. “Tonight I think you will be my entertainment,” he said, leaning into her and whispering. “Then perhaps I shall convince my son not to be too harsh with your daughter.” She glared at him, pulling her head away from him.

  “Do not touch me!”

Arweyn wept, finally unable to hold back her tears. All this time she had been living with the man who had had her father murdered. She had trusted him and he had been the one who had taken her mother. All those years she had thought her mother dead, and he let her believe that. She hated him with vengeance.
