Rory

He stalks toward the door and I miss his body over me immediately.

“What?” he says as he opens the door, his displeasure evident.

“I got something I think you can use.”

  “What’s that?” he asks.

“A surveillance tape that Gunner and Rebel just sent me. Didn’t you say that King was into chess?” I hear Scorpion ask.

Keeping the comforter wrapped around me, I bend down and grab Noah’s discarded shirt and pull it quickly over my head. It falls down to my thighs. Once covered, I find my pants, grabbing my panties and hurriedly putting them on.

“What are you talking about, Scorpion, I’m too busy for games,” Noah grumbles, clearly not happy being interrupted and I can’t say I am either.

“We caught him on tape. Listen to this shit,” Scorpion says excitedly as I come up beside my man. Noah looks down at me and his eyes flash. I can tell he’s not happy that I’ve moved from the bed, but when I heard my brother’s name mentioned I couldn’t just stay there.

Scorpion hits a button on his phone and then King’s voice comes over it as Scorpion plays an audio file. My eyes dilate as I clearly hear King brokering a deal, putting a hit on Chul and arranging it for when Chul comes to see him in Tennessee three weeks from now. I look up hopeful at Noah and I can see he’s grinning.

“I think that’s what they call a checkmate in chess,” Scorpion says. “Although, I’m just guessing because that shit is boring as hell.”

“Noah,” I whisper, not sure what he will do with this information, but knowing it could be useful and hoping we’re thinking along the same lines.

“Scorpion, set up a meeting with Chul. Let him know we’ve got information he wants, but to get it I’ll need something in return,” he mutters, but he’s smiling at me.

“I can do that, thanks to the information Agent Lodge fed me. I’m assuming you want that done now?”

  “Damn right,” Noah says.

“Got it. I’ll just go do that now and let you get back to what you were doing,” Scorpion says and I can feel his eyes on me, but I don’t turn away from Noah. I can’t. I’m mesmerized by the intensity of his stare. “Sorry to bother you, Rory. Nice legs, uhh… I mean hope you have a nice day,” he mutters, but Noah slams the door on him.

“I thought I told you to stay in the bed.”

“You did,” I answer, ending on a squeal as he picks me up in his arms.

“Next time I leave you there, Rory, stay. I don’t want my fucking men looking at your body.”

“I covered myself up, Noah,” I grumble.

“Not enough,” he mutters putting me on the bed, yet again. His hand goes down to cup my pussy and I know he can feel the heated wetness between my legs. He can also see the way his possessive hold makes me tremble. Then again, I don’t try to hide it from him.

“It’s a damn good thing you covered up this pussy, and I’m in a good mood because I now have the drop on this fucking bastard who has done his best to ruin our lives. Otherwise, I’d be spanking your ass until it was red.”

His voice is dark, loaded with a mixture of things and his fingers press against my pussy, torturing my clit even through the thin fabric of my panties. His declaration makes me tremble with desire.

“Christ, every time I think you can’t get better, you do. Hold that thought, Gorgeous. I got a rat to go trap,” he says. He grabs his cut, putting it on without his shirt obviously, since I’m still wearing it. Then he grabs his socks and boots, putting them on so quickly that I didn’t think it was physically possible.

  “I’ll just get—”

“You don’t fucking move, except to take your clothes off. I get this done, I’m coming back here and I want you naked and waiting for my dick.”

  “But… Ryan and…”

“He’s with Dani and her crew tonight. You’re mine and you best be ready,” he announces, before bending down to kiss me so intensely that it steals my breath. It takes me minutes to recover and by the time I do, I’m just left staring at the door he just slammed.

…Every time I think you can’t get better, you do…

His words are ringing in my head and then I do what any normal girl would do when the guy she loves says something like that.

I curl up in a joyful half-circle and I giggle.

“Why would one of Diesel’s men be sniffing around an orphanage in St. Augustine, Florida?” I ask Wolf.

“No clue. Is it Devil?” he asks, and hate drips off the name when he’s forced to use it. It’s a delicious sound and it could be why Wolf has risen up my ranks so quickly. He and I understand one another. We feed off of the same things. Of course, he’s always going to be an underling his whole life. He has no ambition. It’s a shame really. Then again, I don’t have to worry about him slitting my throat while I sleep… that’s a definite plus.

I look him over. It is possible he’s filled with more hate than I am. I wonder if I should have hired him to kill Chul? Of course, if he had messed it up, I wouldn’t have got a second chance. No. It’s much better I pay a professional. I can’t afford for there to be any screw ups now.

“No, it’s one of the others. I have my people watching them all electronically for movement. This one was… Charlie? Charles?” I shrug. “Something along those lines. His name was flagged when he purchased an airline ticket with a direct flight to Florida. I was mildly interested because these insects usually use motorcycles. So, I called a few of my stepbrother’s connections there and had his movements there monitored. That seems to be all he’s doing in Florida. I was hoping the idiots were ignorant enough to think I was in Florida. I don’t want to make my moves and get my son and sister back until I have my rightful throne. I want my stepbrother’s firepower at my disposal.”

“Do you think that’s a wise move to make? If he finds out and it backfires on you…” Wolf trails off and I smile.

“And that’s the difference between you and I. You let fear hold you back. If I did that, I wouldn’t be behind this desk. I would be standing where you are, taking orders from my father for eternity, because there’s no way the miserable bastard would have died on his own. He would have clung to life and power until he was one hundred and fifty and pissing himself.”

I can tell by the tightening on his face that Wolf doesn’t like my answer. Some men can’t handle the truth. They don’t want to look at their own shortcomings. Perhaps that’s why it is so pleasurable to remind them.

“I think I need to have a party, to celebrate my rise to power,” I tell him, looking out the wall of windows across from my desk. The castle has a picturesque view. It overlooks a large patio of stone and block that sits regally above the hill. Steps descend like a runway for royalty, down the rolling hills to the driveway and off to the right is a private helipad, which is large enough to accommodate not one, but two helicopters. The back of the estate is just as impressive with a private driving range, pool and tennis courts. Once I’m in my brother’s seat, I may purchase this place. I don’t play tennis, but I might take it up. Perhaps I could hire a pretty little redhead with hair the same color as Rory’s, and slam her into the concrete and fuck her until she begs me to stop…. That idea definitely has possibilities. Maybe even Rory herself… I don’t have to adhere to society rules. A ruler always makes his own.

“Did you hear what I said?” Wolf asks, interrupting my thoughts of sliding my dick into my sister’s ass. I could do it without lube… The pain would scar her, she’d remember it each and every time after. “King?”

I shake the pleasant daydream out of my head and look at Wolf.

  “Yes?”

“I said there’s a helicopter coming in and landing outside. It looks like one of your brother’s.”

I turn and look outside and see it coming in for a landing. It’s not close to the house, I’m surprised it’s so quiet in here. It must be all of the stone. I definitely should buy this place. I make a note to conta
ct a realtor once everything is done.

“He’s early,” I respond, my lips spreading into a thin smile. “That will make this easier. Contact Delgada and let him know the target has arrived in Tennessee earlier than expected and I will need his instructions carried out sooner.”

“I will do that once we get back in,” Wolf says, walking to the door. He holds it open for me and I frown when I get to him.

“You will do it now. I will see to my brother alone.”

“You don’t want a man at your back?”

“There’s no need. I’m just going to see my brother. He’s too simple to see how vulnerable he is. Just carry out your orders Wolf and stop questioning me.”

“As you wish,” he says, frowning.

Yes. He definitely doesn’t like it when one points out his shortcomings. I’ll make note to do it more often.

I stand at the door and watch as King descends down the steps to his stepbrother’s helicopter. The man is an idiot. I have no idea how he’s stayed alive as long as he has. Unless I miss my guess, I would think Chul is about to remedy that now. Men like Chul don’t just show up unannounced two days after their brother hired a hit on him. King might be too arrogant and full of himself to see that, but I sure as hell am not. I don’t like it, because he’s been good cover for me. While being in King’s employ I could stay out of the Savage crew’s reach while I decided what I’m doing next. There’s no fucking way I wanted to come back to Tennessee. I did it, thinking King’s thugs and my position here would give me protection and I’d be with the men when they went in and decimated the Savage MC Clubhouse. While King grabbed his sister and that bratty kid, I’d grab Torrent. I even fantasized of killing her while Devil was forced to watch and then putting a bullet in the eye I left him. Now, thanks to King, that dream is gone.

Still, just to make sure, I make my way out the back of the house, and use the hedges to hide my presence. I’m going to watch and see what happens between King and Chul. Maybe I’ll get lucky and be wrong. Maybe Chul is just making a brotherly visit—but I fucking doubt it.

“Chul, you are early,” King greets him, bending down to kiss his brother’s ring. I’m sure that hurts the bastard. It could almost make me grin, but I see Chul’s face and I’m more convinced than ever that King is about to draw his last breath.

“I had some things brought to my attention that I needed to see to,” Chul says, and to be of his descent and the fact that he lived in South Korea most of his early life, the man speaks English impeccably. He’s dressed all in black, a collarless shirt under his blazer, his dark hair professionally cut and his angular cheekbones tight. He’s angry. I can see it, I just wonder if King can.

“Nothing bad, I hope,” King says, and maybe it’s my imagination, but I think King is nervous, maybe he’s not so arrogant that he can’t detect a threat.

“Annoying more than anything. Now I’m forced to take time away and deal with it all. My time is valuable,” he says. His men move away from him and walk towards King. I see King take a step back. He’s definitely aware that there’s a problem now.

“Is there… What is going on here, Chul?” King asks, but he doesn’t much more than get the question out when Chul’s men grab him. Two are holding him, and the bastard is trying to pull away, but they subdue him quickly with a gun pointed at his temple. I’m well hidden inside the six-foot hedges that are used as a privacy fence around the main yard. I’m peeking out only through a small hole in the greenery, but even I know this is my cue to back away. Still, morbid curiosity has me staying just a moment longer.

“Tell me, brother, how were you going to kill me? Like you killed our father, perhaps?” Chul asks.

“What are you talking about? I would never harm you or our father. Family is everything, Chul. You know that. A man has nothing if he doesn’t have loyalty,” King sputters. “Is this how you return my loyalty to you? I thought our bond meant more to you than this? Who has filled your head with these lies? I demand you let me talk to my accuser! I will prove to you that they are lying!”

Chul holds an object in his hand, from my angle, it’s blocked from me, but I can tell immediately he’s using it to play an audio file, because I can hear King talking—the same conversation he had when arranging the contract on Chul’s life. I was going to leave, but now I want to watch the asshole die. I’ll sneak away once that’s done. King’s arrogance will keep me from extracting my final revenge on Torrent and Devil. Plus, the cocky bastard just pisses me off. I’ll enjoy watching him die.

“You must think me stupid, brother.”

“That conversation is rigged. Someone spliced it. They had to. I’d never plot against you, Chul. Never!” King cries.

“Like you didn’t kill the man I called father?”

  “I didn’t—”

“Don’t bother denying that, you will only bring more dishonor upon yourself,” Chul warns, his voice going deadly. “I wanted to kill you myself, but I gave someone else that privilege, and unlike you… I have honor. But never fear, brother dear, I asked him to give me your ashes when he is done with you. I plan on scattering them in the stalls of my Arabians.”

“That way every time his horses take a shit, they can do it on you,” Diesel says. My eyes go wide, as he slides out of the helicopter. “I see you recognize me King. Look pretty good for a dead man, don’t I? Don’t worry though, I’m not a fuck-up like you are. I’ll make sure you don’t survive all of the shit I’m going to do to you,” Diesel promises.

The helicopter was shut off and it was quiet, but in the distance, I can hear the roar of bikes. I know what’s coming and this is my cue to get the fuck out of here. I don’t know where I’m going. My revenge will have to be postponed now. I need to go someplace to regroup and figure shit out. Maybe I’ll go to Florida? I can find out why one of Diesel’s men was there. It’d be nice to fuck with them all some more.

My mind made up, I slink back along the hedges toward the back of the house. I’ll have to walk to the next house and hijack a ride there. It’d be too dangerous to try and drive out of here, even if I go through the service entrance.

I’m done taking orders from anyone. I only did this shit to have men at my back when I finished off Torrent and that fucking waste of air, Devil. When I finally make my move this time, I’ll do it on my own and they won’t know what hits them.

I enter the room with a frown. The place is really starting to stink. I’ve had King in my clutches for a week now and I would have thought the anger inside of me would have lessened by now, but it doesn’t seem to. If anything, being around this bastard makes it worse. I’ll have to end him soon. The appeal of watching him piss and shit himself left days ago.

I’ve robbed him of everything I could possibly think of. I started with the papers proving that it’s my blood in Ryan’s veins. I’m not sure he believed me, so I drew blood from him—through his fucking dick with a huge needle—and had a test done, then I let him see those results. He might have still doubted that test, but I don’t think so. I had Gunner draw the blood. He wasn’t thrilled to be handling a dick, even if it was limp and physically broken.

I probably need to ease up on Gunner soon. I sigh with that thought. I’m not even that jealous of him anymore. Rory is mine, I know that. It was just the principal of the thing.

And maybe a little bit of jealousy.

“Did you come to end it, finally?” King growls. I’ve broken his hands, and his fingers. They’re starting to get a nice gray and black tone to them. It’s a shame what loss of blood flow can do. For the most part, I’ve kept the torture light. A little water and electricity, some broken bones.

I wanted each thing I did to mean something. I even offered to let Devil in on the fun. He didn’t accept. He’s still fucking pissed that we didn’t find Wolf in the men we rounded up at the castle. I gave those men to Chul. They all knew of King’s plan to overthrow h
is brother and Chul signed their checks—so to speak. So, I figured whatever happened to them, wasn’t good. Eventually I’ll find Wolf and give him to Devil as a present. I’ve already got Scorpion working on it. Hopefully that will make things better, but I hate to tell him, as much fun as I’m having torturing King… it’s not helping the anger I have inside of me. There are some nights I think it just feeds it. Rory seems to be the only thing keeping me sane right now.

“Maybe. I’m not sure,” I tell King with a stark honesty that I’m sure he can’t fully appreciate.

“First, I’ve decided it’s time to take from you what you took from my woman,” I shrug, pulling out my bowie knife from its sheath and holding it up to look at King. His gaze lingers on the shiny, silver blade and I can see the fear there. He wants me to kill him, to end his punishment but that just seems too easy. I want him… to pay.

“I took nothing from her! I was teaching her to reach her potential!” he screams and I have no fucking idea what he means by that, but I’ve decided not to kill him now—which could make this tricky. If he dies, he dies, I guess. But, I really want him alive longer. I want him to know so much pain that it will follow him into death. He doesn’t deserve the peace death might give him.

“That’s where you’re wrong motherfucker. While you were beating my woman, you took our child.”

The asshole has the gall to laugh at that. That snaps what restraint I have. I’ll enjoy inflicting pain on him.

“Go ahead and laugh. You’ll be crying after this knife slices into your stomach.”
