Matt arched his back, his neck curving at the same time to expose his throat. His moans grew louder while Lucas began to move firmly but slowly in and out of Matt’s body.
He was so aroused he couldn’t hold in all the little sounds Lucas wrung from him.
“You like that, don’t you?” Lucas asked.
Matt couldn’t answer. The thick cock slid and stroked his inner walls, and his body tried to clamp down on it to gain the most from the sensation. Instinctively, he tightened around Lucas’s member as it moved in fully, gripping him so he wouldn’t be lost as he pulled almost out before plunging back in.
Matt threw his head back and felt his balls contract. He knew it was over; he was coming, and there was nothing he could do to prevent it. Lucas’s cock brushed against his prostate when he began to move faster, pounding into him, but still not hard enough to hurt him. Matt’s breathing was labored, and he clenched around Lucas when he tried to pull out to prolong their lovemaking.
“Don’t stop,” Matt pleaded as he arched up and tried to get his hands free of Lucas’s grip. He wanted to touch Lucas so much right now, but Lucas wouldn’t let him.
“This is for you, Matt.” Lucas thrust several more times and then groaned, his arms tightening around Matt and his body shuddering in ecstasy. His eyes closed so his long lashes were more pronounced; the crow’s feet vanished as his features smoothed out in his release. “Oh Lucas!” Matt cried out when he couldn’t hold back any longer, covering his stomach and part of his chest with his own semen. Matt closed his eyes and breathed deeply as Lucas gently lowered his leg and eased out of him so he could relax. Lucas smiled as he lay beside him, brushing his hand through Matt’s hair.
Matt sighed, completely content.
“I love you, Lucas. I love you so much,” Matt whispered while Lucas cleaned him up with one of the wet naps from the bedside table.
“I love you too, Matt. I always will. Sleep now.”
Matt woke up feeling warmth on his cheek. When he opened his eyes, he had to brush his hair out of them. Lucas was lying at his side, his warm breath on Matt’s cheek as he slept. While Matt looked at Lucas, he felt tears welling up in his eyes. It had been so long since he had been this happy with anyone; he felt special, and right now, he felt truly loved again. The longer he lay there looking at Lucas, the more emotional he became, because he knew he didn’t deserve him. Lucas was so much better than he was.
As the sunlight filtered through the windows and illuminated Lucas’s naked body, Matt felt himself responding to the older man. But he refused to wake him to satisfy his desires; he was content to lie there and watch him in peaceful slumber. The sunlight highlighted a thin layer of perspiration covering Lucas’s body, matting the soft coating of hairs on his chest. Matt sighed as he watched the slow rise and fall of Lucas’s breathing. He was mesmerized by the way Lucas looked as he slept. Matt felt the heat rush up his face as his eyes followed the trail of hair on Lucas’s stomach downward and saw his flaccid cock as it lay against his thigh. It was purely beautiful, and Matt longed to touch it and feel it in his hands once more, to feel the way it swelled and pulsed as Lucas became aroused.
Matt bit his bottom lip as he tried to resist touching Lucas. He wasn’t sure how the gesture would be received, even after a night of incredible sex. Matt, for one, knew how tender his own member was after that; he’d made love more that night than he had for a very long time.
Matt trembled, knowing that if he didn’t get away from Lucas right then, he was going to do something he would regret. He closed his eyes and tried to shut the images of Lucas’s body out of his mind. But it was no good; being in such close proximity to the other man was affecting him more than anything else. Matt started to climb out of the bed, but as he tried to stand up, he felt Lucas’s hand on his arm.
“Where are you going?” Lucas asked, opening his eyes to look at Matt. “Matt, what’s wrong?” Matt lowered his head and stopped moving, trembling until Lucas released his hold on his arm.
“I’m sorry,” Matt murmured and hung his head as he sat down on the edge of the bed, not looking at Lucas.
“Matt, look at me, please. Tell me what’s wrong?” Lucas sat up and rubbed his hand gently against Matt’s back.
“I’m afraid,” Matt said quietly.
“Afraid of what? You can tell me, you know.”
“I’m afraid of what’s going to happen now that I’ve given myself to you completely. I’m afraid of what I’m doing right now. There are just so many feelings running through me right now. I just don’t know what to do. I’m not even sure who I am anymore,” Matt said. Tears fell down his cheeks as he turned to look at Lucas.
“Matt, it’s okay. Come here; it’s all right.” Matt broke down when Lucas pulled him into his arms, tears streaming down his cheeks. “Matt, when I look at you, all I see is a beautiful man who is scared because of what his former lover did to him. I see a beautiful man with a heart so big that I can’t help but love him. You have so much love to give, Matt, and you deserve to be loved in return. Matt, I will love you always no matter what. I asked you to marry me for that reason.” Lucas lifted Matt’s head gently, making him meet Lucas’s eyes. Matt couldn’t doubt the sincerity he saw there.
“Thank you,” Matt said as he swallowed hard.
“I meant it when I asked you to marry me. I still want that very much, so please come on, get back in bed and let me hold you.” Lucas ran his fingers lightly against Matt’s cheek. “I love you, Matt.”
“I love you too,” Matt said, lowering his eyes, his long eyelashes brushing his cheeks as he felt the heat rising in them again.
“It’s okay, Matt. Shhh, just lie with me and let me hold you.” Lucas brushed Matt’s hair from his eyes and gently pulled him down onto the bed once more. Matt closed his eyes as he felt Lucas’s arms wrap around his body and then caress him as he lay in his arms. He felt so comfortable in the embrace, more than he ever had when he had been with Aran.
Matt pillowed his head against Lucas’s chest, just listening to the sound of his heartbeat as he relaxed in his arms. He blushed as he heard Lucas singing softly to him.
As the words registered in Matt’s mind, he felt the tears returning again, but this time they were tears of happiness.
Lucas was telling him how he felt through the song.
LUCAS sang softly, all the time gently running his hands over Matt’s back as the younger man closed his eyes and just listened to him. He knew Matt was listening to the words of the song; they had significant meaning to the way he felt about him. He didn’t want Matt to ever feel threatened by how he was feeling. He wanted Matt to embrace how he felt and learn to open his heart again.
Lucas heard the intake of breath when Matt sighed; he was so at peace right now, just listening to the way the words rolled from Lucas’s lips. Lucas could feel the soft caresses of Matt’s eyelashes as they brushed against his chest when he blinked.
“Will you let me be your hero?” Lucas smiled as Matt shifted to get more comfortable, wrapping his own arms tightly around Lucas. He moved his hands up to caress Matt’s curls, feeling the tears fall from Matt’s eyes and onto his chest as he held him close. He knew how much Matt had been hurt by his lover; he had experienced heartbreak himself, but never as much as Matt was feeling. To nearly have his life taken from him must be a terrible thing to live with. Lucas didn’t know if he would have been as strong if he had been in Matt’s place.
“Are you okay?” Lucas asked as he rubbed Matt’s back gently. Matt just nodded, not answering. “It’s okay, sleep now. We have all the time in the world.”
Matt soon fell asleep in Lucas’s arms with his head cushioned on Lucas’s chest. Lucas knew while watching Matt sleep that there was more troubling his lover than what was going to happen now that he had allowed Lucas in.
Lucas was going to do everything in his power to let Matt know how much he loved him, and to make him feel loved.
He was going to give him the life he
should have had for years.
Lucas woke some time later to find Matt lying at his side, the blankets having long since been kicked away, leaving his beautiful naked body on display. Lucas’s eyes traveled over the contours of Matt’s body, taking in the swell of his buttocks and where they joined his thighs. Just looking at the way Matt slept so peacefully was enough to stir the feelings up in Lucas’s body, to make him want to please and protect Matt more than he had anyone in his life.
He loved the way Matt looked with his muscular but lithe frame; he had just enough muscle that he was made all the more alluring to Lucas. Matt was a little too thin, but Lucas really didn’t mind; he found him incredibly sexy.
Matt murmured as he woke mistily from sleep. Lifting his head up, he groaned as his hair fell into his eyes. Lucas smiled, resting on his elbow, looking at him.
“Morning, angel.” Lucas watched Matt flop back down on the bed, rolling onto his back so his hair wouldn’t be in his face so much. He blushed when he saw the look on Lucas’s face as he took in Matt’s naked body.
“Morning,” Matt said quietly.
“So what would you like to do today?” Lucas asked. He wanted to make the day as special as possible for Matt.
“I don’t know. Anything as long as it’s with you.” Matt blushed when Lucas’s hand gently traced little circles on his stomach.
“So there’s nothing that you want to do in particular?”
“Not really, no. I have no plans for today and no clients.”
Matt lowered his eyes as the heat rushed into his cheeks. “I just want to spend some time with my future husband.”
“I’m sure there are some things I can show you. Would you like to come to the casting call with me today?” Lucas asked, not wanting to pressure Matt if it wasn’t what he really wanted to do. “I can show you some things you didn’t already know.”
“I thought you’d already done that.” Matt blushed even more adorably, and Lucas realized he was remembering what had taken place the night before.
“God, I love you so much,” Lucas said, leaning over Matt and kissing him gently, running his tongue over Matt’s lips before taking the lower one between his own. Matt moaned and opened his lips to Lucas’s advances, allowing him to slip his tongue into his waiting mouth.
Even though Lucas only let himself enjoy the kiss for a few short minutes, it was enough to leave Matt breathless. “I love you too, Lucas. I would love to come and see what you do.”
“Okay, come on, let’s get dressed and we can go,” Lucas said as he held Matt’s hand in his, gently rubbing his thumb against the back of it.
“Shouldn’t we shower first?” Matt asked self- consciously.
“Sure. You take one first. I need to sort some things out before we go anyway.”
“Okay,” Matt said as he climbed slowly from the bed.
Lucas flopped down onto his back, smiling like the Cheshire cat.
While Matt showered, Lucas retrieved his cell phone and made a quick call to the studio to confirm the arrangements for the morning. He was still on the phone when Matt walked into the bedroom with a towel hung loosely around his waist, drying his hair on a small hand towel.
“Well, I’ve got to go now. I’ll see you later, and I’ll bring Matt with me when I come ’round,” Lucas said, watching Matt drop the towel and walk to the dresser to pick up a pair of white briefs. “See you later. Bye,” Lucas said, closing the phone and making his way back to Matt.
He held his breath as he watched the muscles move in Matt’s back as he stepped into his briefs, and how his long curls hung over his face as he bent down. As Matt stood up, he flicked his hair off his face, blushing when he saw the way Lucas was looking at him and the way his body was responding to him.
Lucas couldn’t help himself; he walked over to Matt, captured his head in his hands, and moved in for a searing kiss. Matt tilted his head to one side to allow Lucas the freedom to deepen the kiss. Lucas ran his hands through Matt’s wet hair and pressed his body tightly against Matt’s almost naked one. He was so aroused right now, just by the way Matt was dressed and the way his hair hung around his shoulders. The kiss left them both breathless when Lucas finally ended it.
“Sorry about that. I just couldn’t help myself,” Lucas told him. Matt stood there, a little startled by the sudden pleasurable assault.
“Not a problem,” Matt said, smoothing a hand through his hair. “The shower’s all yours.”
“Thanks,” Lucas said as he brushed past Matt on his way into the bathroom.
When Lucas returned from his shower, he found Matt standing by the window, looking out at the bright sunshine as it filtered through the trees in the garden. As Lucas was barefoot, he was able to make his way across the room’s soft carpet and wrap his arms around Matt’s waist without him noticing until Lucas’s hands snaked around him.
Matt leaned back and rested his head against Lucas’s shoulder, turning his head when Lucas started to move his hands away from around his waist.
“Sorry I’m getting you all wet.”
“Don’t worry about it. Did you enjoy your shower?” Matt asked.
“Yeah, it was okay, but I’d have enjoyed it more if you’d been with me,” Lucas said, gently rubbing his fingers against the side of Matt’s cheek and smiling when Matt tilted his head, leaning into the caress.
“I’d have liked that as well,” Matt told him, reaching out to gently run his hand over Lucas’s chest, making him tremble.
“Matt, please, we really shouldn’t start something we can’t finish. As much as I’d like to just fall back into bed with you right now, I’ve got to make the casting call, and I’ve made plans to meet a friend before I take you for a drink,” Lucas explained.
“Sorry. I’ll just go have a look at the garden while you finish up in here. I don’t want to be a distraction for you.”
Matt dropped his hand from Lucas’s chest to his side, lowering his head and turning away from him.
“No, Matt, I didn’t mean it like that. Jesus, there’s nothing I’d rather do than make love to you again right now. Matt, look at me, please. I love you, and I never want to hurt you. Believe me when I say that. You don’t have to leave the room, you know. It’s okay for you to be here. I like a little distraction every now and then, and especially from someone as sexy as you.” Lucas lifted Matt’s head so he was looking at him again. He knew how much his words had stung Matt by the unshed tears that threatened to spill from his beautiful chocolate-colored eyes as he looked at him.
“Matt, let me be your hero,” Lucas whispered as he pulled Matt into a warm embrace, rubbing his back softly as he rested his head on his shoulder. Matt nodded with a sigh and relaxed into Lucas’s arms.
“I’m sorry for getting so emotional on you yet again.”
“Not to worry, it’s fine. I know this is all new to you. I’d rather you be completely honest with your feelings rather than hide them away anyway. Matt, I’m in love with you, and I want to marry you. I know it’s fast, but I swear I’ve never felt like this about anyone before. The way I feel about you is so different than anyone I’ve ever been with.”
“I’m sorry, I’m just still very shy about all this,” Matt whispered.
“I know, and it’s okay. Come on, let’s go meet my friend. I’m sure he’ll love you,” Lucas said as he kissed Matt on the forehead gently.
“Does your friend know that you’re into guys?”
“Yeah, he knows, and he’s fine with it. He knows everything that I do.”
“Do you always introduce your lovers to your friend?”
Matt asked. Lucas could tell he was a little uncomfortable about it.
“The ones I really like, yes. Besides, he can’t hurt you. Matt, he is in a wheelchair if he goes out, and, well, when he’s not, he’s confined to his bed. He had a stroke a while ago, and, well, that’s the result of it,” Lucas explained.
“God, I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
“It’s oka
y, Matt, you didn’t know. He’s doing well right now, but he’ll never be able to talk or walk again. But he’s well looked after and loved,” Lucas told him.
TAKING Matt to the casting call had seemed like a good idea at the time, and Matt was fine until he saw some of the guys waiting for their readings looking at him and commenting to each other.
“Take no notice of them, they’re probably worried that you’re going to beat them to the part,” Lucas said, noticing Matt’s unease. “They’d be crazy not to think that—you’re gorgeous, after all, and just what this script calls for. A casting director would be insane not to hire someone like you. If it was me, I’d hire you in a heartbeat,” Lucas told him, reaching out to place a comforting hand upon Matt’s knee. Sadly, the touch didn’t have the desired effect.
“Lucas! Don’t!” Matt hissed as he flinched away from the contact. “What if they don’t hire you because they realize you’re with me?” Matt pushed up from the seat in a panic and left the room. Lucas understood what Matt was going through, and he didn’t bring the incident up again.
Lucas drove them to his friend’s house, smiling as he looked over at Matt and saw him sitting with his hands clenched in his lap. Lucas reached out with one hand and gently squeezed Matt’s hands to try and ease his nerves.
“Don’t worry about it, you’ll be just fine. We’re nearly there now,” Lucas told him as he rubbed his thumb across the back of his hand, trying to soothe him.
MATT sighed as the car pulled up outside Lucas’s friend’s house. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest and knots in his stomach. He was so worried about meeting Lucas’s friend that he feared he was going to be sick.
Lucas reached out and brushed his hand against Matt’s cheek. Matt smiled and leaned into the caress, feeling the comfort of the touch.
Lucas walked with Matt into his friend’s house after they’d been welcomed inside by his nurse. Matt stopped when he saw Lucas’s friend sitting in his wheelchair; he was a little surprised at how hard it must be to look after him the way he was. Lucas smiled and went over to hug his friend and then held his hand out for Matt when he stood up.
