  Sculptures shimmered as raindrops slanted in a thin line. Despite the rain, the sun was shining, an odd weather pattern Felix Fogg had rarely seen. Interesting country, America. In Singapore, sodden black clouds kept the sun at bay when rain streamed against the windows, the hot air heavy and wet. Fogg made a final circle of the Wieland Pavilion. His hooded dark eyes scanned the surroundings. He was alone in the sculpture garden. He’d waited half an hour. He would wait no longer.

  He was unemotional as he hailed a cab in front of the museum. Something had gone wrong. As the cab sped toward the airport, Fogg wondered what had happened. Had the coins not been available? Had the seller changed his mind?

  No matter. There was always another contact to be made…
