A Little Thing Called Life

This photo was taken after we had separated but still appeared together, and Bruce had begun his transition.

Brandon, Brody, and I looked forward to rare rainy days in Malibu so we could bake cookies together. It was our tradition.
The boys were only four and six in this photo taken with David and me after Brandon’s Little League game.

Our blended family (L to R: our nanny Allison, Brandon, Erin, Brody, David, Sara, and Jordan; I’m on the bottom).
David and I got married on June 22, 1991, on a gorgeous bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Hope Ranch.

Kicking back on David’s boat (L to R: me, Barbra Streisand, David, Richard Baskin).
Barbra Streisand has always been a dear friend; here we are celebrating her birthday together.
With a very young Céline Dion, shortly after David and I discovered her in Montreal.

Back in 2002 on the twenty-fifth anniversary of Elvis’s death, I did my first-ever interview about Elvis with Larry King.
We shot this family photo for publicity for The Princes of Malibu.

With Brody on our way to a Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion, the very spot where I’d met his father so many years before.
Here I am with Bruce and his first wife, Chrystie, not long after his separation from Kris.
This photo was taken at Brody’s birthday party in 2014, shortly before Bruce came out to the world as Caitlyn.
Having a birthday celebration for Brody at my home in August 2015 (L to R: Kaitlynn Carter, Brody, me, Caitlyn, Brian Rapf, and Brandon).
With David in April 2016 at a Mohammed Ali event in Phoenix.
From the moment I first discovered that Bruce identified as a woman, I made every effort to instill compassion and a broad scope of understanding in my sons. I’m so proud of how they’ve accepted and supported Caitlyn.
Caitlyn stopped by the house for Thanksgiving 2015, one of the first times we were together.
Here I am with Dad when he was living with me and David.
With my Dad and the boys in 1990; my daddy helped to create and shape the person I still am today. I am forever a daddy’s girl.
I am in love with being a grandmother—“LaLa”— to the most beautiful baby girl (L to R: Kaitlynn Carter, Brody, Brandon, Eva James, Leah Jenner, and me).
The two boys who continue to humble and inspire me with everything they do.
