Twice the Lies (Once Upon a Liar Book 2)

I continued getting ready to get into the shower and brushed my teeth. Once my mouth was rinsed, I returned the toothbrush and paste back to the previous spot. After I inched my body into the shower, I turned to allow the steaming water to run over my back. As I stood, I closed my eyes and began to think of ways to allow Brilese to trust me; at least long enough to handle her case. If they were only in my life for a short period of time again, then my guilt could settle itself a tad.

A week went by and I hadn’t heard from Brilese. I reached out to Bradson, and he was no longer willing to discuss anything about her; probably because he found out about who I was. I reminded him that there wasn’t a way to get the money he’d already spent refunded, and he rested his final answer before hanging up the phone. When I tried to dial him back, he already had the main number to the firm blocked.

“Fuck!” I shouted and beat the end of my fist onto my desk and placed the phone back on its hook.

There had to be another way to contact her. Unfortunately, since our meet was cut short, the only phone number I had on file was Bradson’s. My mind staggered while trying to come up with ideas on how I was going to be able to get to Brilese. I needed to convince her that I would make all of the years for time lost up to her by winning her case.

My foot uncontrollably tapped on the carpet beneath my desk, as I rested my left palm underneath my chin. It wasn’t until a few moments later when I decided to pull her file from the cabinet beside my leg. As I scanned over the documents, an idea came to mind. Brilese’s full address was listed in the police report. All I had to do is show up to her place. And convince her further to speak.

I slammed the file folder closed, before putting it back in its place in the cabinet. Once I was standing, I grabbed my keys from next to my computer monitor. I jolted out of the door, and my feet began to trip over one another as I rushed down the hallway. Stopping me in my tracks, the firm’s secretary acknowledged me.

“Going for lunch?” she asked, as she turned herself toward me while she sat at the front desk. She stopped me right before I got a chance to latch onto the door handle that led to the lobby.

“Actually, I’m leaving a little early today,” I replied honestly. It was already almost five in the afternoon, which were closing hours anyway.

“Oh okay. Just needed to know how to reply to potential clients who ask to speak to you,” she answered. I shook my head and assumed my journey. She was always on my shit… mostly because she dreamed of me at night.

I walked through the lobby trying to remain my professionalism in front of the client who sat waiting for the other lawyer employed with the firm. As soon as I pushed the glass front door open, I ran to my 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE which was on the opposite side of the parking lot. Approaching the SUV, I slid the key from my palm and hit the unlock button on the fob.

  Beep, beep.

Once the sound signaled, I knew it was unlocked. I reached my arm forward to open the door from the handle, after my body approached the midnight black vehicle. After hopping onto my beige colored leather seat and closing the door, I leaned back a little to pull my iPhone out of the front pocket of my dark brown slacks. I opened the Maps app and entered Brilese’s address into my phone.

“You’ll arrive at your destination in approximately forty-four minutes,” the automated sound on the GPS stated.

“Any amount of time is worth the time lost,” I replied, as if she could answer, and placed the phone into the holder that was wedged into the vent above the middle console.

The seatbelt was around my body before I started my ignition. After putting the gear into drive, I took a right to pull out of the parking lot. Approaching the highway a few miles down, I punched the steering wheel as I turned onto the ramp. Five o’clock traffic had hit, and it would take me longer than an hour to get to her place. I contemplated turning around, but bravery and determination allowed me to continue to Rock Hill.

An hour and twenty minutes later of silence, and I was slowly driving down a small, country street. When the GPS informed me that I reached my destination, I looked to the right and noticed two cars in the driveway of the home. Knowing she was with Bradson, I assumed it was him.

Instead of going all the way back to Charlotte, I decided to drive back to the end of the street and find a place to stake out. Luckily, directly across from the intersection of her street and the main one, there was an abandoned driveway. Quickly after reassuring that no cars were coming down either lane, I took a left and stopped in time to be able to back into the space. At least if I noticed a vehicle I recognized leaving the street, I could approach the home.

I waited awhile and kept my stare at the end of the street Brilese resided on. With seven o’clock approaching, I figured I’d search my Safari and get an idea of hotels around the area. There wasn’t a way I was driving back to Charlotte without completing my mission. I placed the phone to my ear after finding the closest hotel and looked up to notice the Fusion approaching the stop sign.

Instead of going through with the call, I ended it and watched as the car took a right-hand turn and continued on its way. Quickly, I started my ignition after resting my phone in my lap. I placed the gear into drive and jetted down the street once the coast was clear. I approached the house and parked in the driveway behind the Lexus. Without knowing who to expect after I shut the Mercedes off, I bowed my head to pray for it to be Brilese.

I sighed and built enough courage to get out of the car. After walking down the stone pathway, I approached the stairs and slowly climbed my feet onto them. Once I reached the door, I hesitated before knocking. My heart was beating out of my chest.

Knock. Knock. I lightly tapped. Within seconds, the door opened. I was appalled that God worked in my favor.

“May I help you?” Brilese asked, as she stood in the doorway in boy shorts and a wife beater. She shot a look of filth my way, but my eyes were focused on examining her from ground up. She was thicker than when I was with her and had a mature glow to her. I couldn’t help myself, and my heart thought before my mind as I reacted.

“Actually,” I started to say. I felt my eyes relaxing over lust for her, before I ran my teeth across my bottom lip. “You can,” I leaned over, and kissed her. To my surprise, she passionately kissed me back.

  Seven months later

“Are you ready for tomorrow?” I asked, as I watched Brilese load the eggplant parmesan pan onto the lower rack of the oven.

“Nervous, but as ready as I’ll ever be,” she replied.

“I think there’s enough evidence to prove your innocence,” I stated. She closed the oven door and walked over to where I sat at her kitchen table.

“I hope so. If not, I won’t be able to meet my nephew right away,” she changed her tone as if she were talking to my baby, as she rubbed my stomach.

The first date Matt and I went on, led to us having sex in the back seat of his truck. I never had been the type of girl to do something of that nature, but there was something about him that made me want to explore. At first, I was sure he would oppose it. When he jerked his head back to look at me after I demanded him to go to the back seat, a look of confusion rested upon his face.

“Are you sure?” he asked, as he tilted his head. The gentleman in him made my pussy walls jump.

“Definitely,” I replied, without a single beat of hesitation.

“We could go to my hous-,” he started to say, but I interrupted.

“Get in the back seat now,” I whispered in a demanding tone.

He did just as I said and climbed into the back seat from where he sat in the driver’s seat. After I noticed he was comfortable in the seat furthest from the driver’s side, I lifted myself into the truck. I closed the door and inched my way back to join him. By the time I was next to him, my hormones had reached their climax… and I was ready to dive in.

“Pull your dick out,” I demanded, as I slid my right leg out of my dark wash
jeans.

By the time he unzipped his pants and pulled his eight-inch dick out, I already had my pussy in the open. The left leg of my jeans was still intact, but I had enough exposed for him to show me what he was working with. For extra exposure, I pulled my D cup tits out of my floral blouse. I knew once I hopped on him that they’d bounce in front of his eyes.

“Mmm,” I began to moan, after I kneeled on his floorboard and welcomed his pale penis into my mouth.

“Ohhh,” he replied, as he moaned from the tight suction I created for him.

“You like that?” I asked, after sliding my mouth from him and looking into his eyes. I had my hands caressing him up and down.

  “Hell yeah,” he replied.

I kissed his head, before I got up from my knees. Knowing there wasn’t enough space for me to climb on top of him, I instructed him to scoot toward me a tad. Once he inched over and we were out of the sight of any onlookers, I swung my leg over his body from where I sat next to him. Teasing him a little, I began grinding my hips as my thighs rested on top of his, but my pussy was in between facing the seat.

“Oh, you wanna play?” he asked, as his eyes grew droopy while staring into mine.

“Maybe,” I whispered. Before I got a chance to grab his dick to allow it inside of me, he flipped my body over until my back slapped against the polyester seat.

“Tell me you want it,” he said, before I nodded my head.

I looked over my chest, and down to watch him grab his rock-hard dick before sliding it inside of me. Once he inched it in, I saw nothing but stars as I closed my eyes. My history only included one man to give me a sexual desire before him, so the Gates of Heaven entered my soul. It was almost as if he was destined for me.

“Oh my gahhh,” I screamed, once I felt myself about to cum. My body tensed, and my nerves began to tingle. He sped up, and that’s when a spritz of water came from my pussy and landed all over the bottom of his t-shirt.

“You want me to cum in you?” he asked, as he stared into my light brown eyes once I was able to wince them open.

“Please baby,” I replied. Within seconds, his movement slowed down, and I felt liquid filling each side of my vaginal walls. He landed his body on top of mine and buried his cheek in between my tits. We laid panting and were on cloud nine after we both released.

A few weeks after Matt and I hooked up, I took a pregnancy test which turned out to be positive. I wanted to scream in joy but grew saddened when I knew I’d have to tell my parents. Matt was there for me throughout all of my emotions and assured me I would still be taken care of if they disowned me afterward.

Matt and I decided to become a couple after that. He wanted me to move in with him, but I was tenacious in keeping my apartment for the time being. With me holding a month to month lease after residing at the complex for over a year, giving the property manager my notice wasn’t a problem. The decision lied in my parents’ hands. If they could accept our relationship, and new grandchild, then Matt and I could go from there. I felt as if I had already disrespected them in the first place, and I wouldn’t be able to handle more family stress by moving in with a man.

The only other person who knew about my pregnancy from the beginning was Brilese. She offered to be there with me when I announced to them. I agreed that I would feel more comfortable with her beside me. Since I often visited my parents, hiding my baby from them couldn’t go on too long. After I found out the gender, I knew it was a good time to let them know. I was almost four months along and was no longer able to keep my poking stomach from them.

“Don’t be nervous, babe. I’m with you,” Brilese stated, after she drove me and her kids to my parents’ house.

  “Okay. I’m ready,” I replied.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Karleiyah flung her door open. Her and Zirko jetted out of the back seat and ran toward my parents’ front door. Brilese wasn’t going to wait for me either. After shutting the ignition off, she grabbed her key fob and exited from the driver’s seat. It wasn’t until after she closed the door and walked around the front of the vehicle when I decided to join.

Slowly, I picked my Michael Kors purse from the floorboard and unbuckled my seatbelt. By the time I opened the passenger’s door, my mother had already opened the door. I watched as she welcomed Brilese in for a warming hug. After closing the door, Brilese disappeared into the house and I walked up to my mother.

“Hi Mommy,” I greeted, as I grabbed the hands she held out to me. She wanted a hug, but I was afraid she’d feel my bump before I got a chance to confess. Instead, I lowered her hands with mine and leaned over to kiss her on the cheek.

“Everything okay, baby?” she asked. Her hugs were the most comforting thing I ever experienced in my life, so she guessed something was wrong.

“Yeah!” I exclaimed, trying to keep my facial expressions as mellow as possible. “Let’s go inside.”

I placed my hand on her shoulder and directed her into the house. Zirko and Karleiyah had taken a place next to my father, as usual, as he sat watching television on one end of the couch. I loved the bond they had with him, and I know Brilese did as well. Once my mother shut the door behind us, I strode across the living room to greet my daddy.

“Hey, baby,” he said, after I leaned over to place a kiss on his forehead.

  “Hey,” I replied.

When I looked over to Brilese who was sitting on the recliner next to where I stood in front of the couch, she raised an eyebrow at me. I smiled back at her to let her know I was afraid. Instantly, she spoke up. At first, I was embarrassed and a little angry, but the truth is, if she hadn't said a word then neither would I have.

“Mama come sit down. And have a seat yourself, Dezire,” Brilese said. My mom and dad shot a look of confusion her way, while I shot a look of nervousness.

“I knew something was wrong,” my mom said, and took a seat on the couch next to the kids. With all eyes on Brilese, she decided to speak further.

“Dezire has something to tell you,” Brilese confessed on my behalf. “She’s scared, and she shouldn’t be.”

“Well, what is it?” my dad spoke, after he shifted his eyes toward me. I decided to continue to stand and inhaled deeply before saying a word.

“If you guys hate me after this, then I understand,” I began my speech, as I joined my palms together in front of me. “I’m pregnant by a white man,” I blurted. My plan was to work into that part, but I had to get it over and done with. In the moment, I felt like being direct was best.

“What!” my mother shouted. When I looked to my father, he wore a look of confusion on his face.

“He’s a good man,” Brilese interrupted, and looked to both my mom and dad.

“No, that’s not what I’m saying!” my mother yelled. She got up from the couch and joined where I stood. She looked me in my eyes and placed both of her hands on my shoulder once she noticed my eyes begin to water. “You could have told us, baby. This is our grandchild, no matter the race. Don’t be ashamed.”

“Mhm,” my father grunted, and I shot my eyes toward him to notice him lifting from the couch. Instantly, my heart began to race as he made his way next to my mother. Disappointment took over my nerves once I looked up to him.

“I’m sorry,” I whispered to him.

“Just because your mother and I found love within the same race, doesn’t mean you have to. It doesn’t matter what I’d prefer for you. You have your own desires and beliefs. Besides, how can I tell you who to love, and how to feel? We love you, and accept you no matter what,” my father warmly stated, before he welcomed me into his arms.

As soon as my face was buried into his chest, I began to weep in joy. Never in a million years would I have guessed for such a positive reaction from them. I was glad I overcame my fears when I did. From that day forward, they were the biggest supporters… especially after meeting Matt. They welcomed him as much as they welcomed me, and I couldn’t have felt more whole. Not once did they despise the ten-yea
r age gap and race difference. As a matter of fact, they implied that he was the type of man I needed to marry.

Since having my gender reveal and informing my parents that we were having a boy, the amount of money they spent on things for my son was unimaginable. Thanks to my parents’ and Matt, I wouldn’t have to worry about buying diapers, wipes or clothes for at least a year. Once our son made an entrance into the world, I was certain he’d be loved from all angles.

“Are you going to be here for a while?” Brilese asked, after she took a seat at the table to join me.

“Probably, why?” I asked. Bradson had yet to find a place to live since Brilese wasn’t about to forgive him, and I knew he’d show shortly.

“I want to do something,” she said, before welcoming a grin to her face.

“I know that look. What is it?” I asked anxiously.

“Well, it’s only three in the afternoon. Bradson doesn’t get off work until five. I want to pay Axe a visit since my court date is tomorrow,” she confessed. With the expression on her face, something told me it wasn’t all about business.

“I’ll watch the kids, Brilese. Once the food is done, I’ll take it out, but I’ll most likely take Zirko and Karleiyah to my parents’ house until you’re finished,” I informed her, and looked back at her with a smile.

“Thank you!” she exclaimed and lifted her ass from the chair to give me a hug. I knew what she was going to do, and I was all for it. Bradson had done her wrong enough. If she wanted revenge, then I would support her.
