Charles looked at every one of them and studied them hard with his eyes before turning around and going for the door.
“If there is anything else make you sure you give us a call. Or just me.” Davidson rolled his eyes and pulled a card out of his pocket and handing it to Jamie.
“Thank you.” She gave him a small smile and nodded her head.
“We are doing the best we can. There are just so many of us and trust me we are all out there looking for anything that will bring us to the killer.” Davidson assured her before he headed out the door after Charles.
“They aren't going to help us.” Kellie said what every one else was thinking.
“Then that means we have to arm ourselves. Lets get going.” Tom told them, Jamie slowly got off his lap to stand up.
“Where are we going?” Jamie asked him, a little confused.
“We are going to the nearest gun shop. I have some money and I think that Mark and I should get a gun. That way we are all protected.” Tom told her seriously.
“We can't go around with a gun.” Jamie whispered to him.
“The hell we can't. If the cops aren't going to do anything Jamie how do you think we are going to protect ourselves? If this killer is using a knife a gun is easier. You just pull the trigger.” He almost shouted at her but restrained himself.
“He's right, drastic times call for drastic measures and if the law can't help us then its time that we help ourselves.” Mark agreed.
“Better safe then sorry.” Jamie whispered, shaking her head wishing that it wouldn't come down to this and she hated to admit it but the guys were right.
“I love you Jamie and the last thing I want is for you to end up like Alice and her cousin. That's the last thing we all need.” Tom held her to him as he got up from the bed and hugged her as tightly as he could.
“I know, I know.” She muttered.
Tom was the last one out the door, he looked around the room and shut the door behind him. He knew it wasn't wise to stay in one place for a long time. Not when the killer knew where they were. It was like they were moving targets.
Tom went back into the room and grabbed Jamie's laptop and duffel bag. He couldn't take her back there not knowing when the killer might strike.
“You guys have anything in your room?” He looked over at Mark who was rolling down his window and starting his car.
“No, why?” Mark asked him, seeing Tom throwing Jamie's things in the back seat of his own car.
“We can't stay here tonight. There's no way I'm going to stay somewhere knowing the killer knows we are here. No one else could have put that picture there Mark and there's no way the girls are going to stay here tonight.” Tom went over to talk to him, he didn't need to announce it to the whole world.
“Right. So am I following you or are you guys following me?” Mark asked him.
“Do you know where there's a gun shop?” Tom asked him, answering his question with a question of his own.
“There's one right around the corner from here.” Mark told him, it was the same place his father bought his hunting guns.
“Good then it sounds like I'm going to be following you for a change.” Tom gave him a small smile and walked back to his car.
Tom got in and started the car. Pulling out of his parking spot and waiting for Mark to go in front of him.
“Tom we are going to die.” Jamie told him, not wanting to accept the fact but knew that it was hopeless if the cops didn't catch the killer soon.
“Don't talk like that. I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Do you hear me?” Tom asked her softly. Looking at her for a brief second.
Jamie nodded her head but turned away from him as a single tear slid out of the corner of her eye and slid down her cheek.
“One of these days I'm going to marry you Jamie and we are going to live happily ever after.” Tom whispered to her.
Jamie smiled and closed her eyes praying that was the truth. She couldn't think of being with someone else. Tom was the love of her life and she prayed that they had many years left with each other.
The End.

(Summary)
When only three come out of the woods and head for a hotel to look through the black bag that Mark had found down by the creek out back of Jamie's house they are surprised that no only are their knives in the black back but a photo album. A photo album that hold pictures of victims from the past. Not knowing how old the pictures are the three assume that the killer had been in the community for a while and is now just being found out about. Jamie was told by the police that Chad Porter had been dead for a few years. That he couldn't be the one killing off the women in the community. Jamie was hoping that they could solve the mystery quickly knowing that her friend Kellie was taken in the woods out back of her house. Though the police said that without a body they couldn't tell if Kellie was dead or alive Jamie has a feeling that she's never going to see her friend again. That is until Jamie gets an email stating that Kellie is alive and whoever had taken her had made a horrible mistake. They weren't after Kellie at all, they were after Jamie. Grabbing Kellie only because she was the closest one to them. Now Jamie is told in order for Kellie to stay alive she must go to them and surrender herself so that Kellie can be set free......
Jamie and Kellie stayed out in the car when the guys went into the gun shop. There was nothing in there that Jamie wanted to see and she prayed that when Tom came out with the gun that he didn't show it off to her. Knowing that she didn't like them to begin with.
Jamie was just about to fall asleep again when she heard Mark slam the drivers side door of his car and it startled her, she opened her eyes to see Mark smile at her and nod his head.
She saw Tom coming out of the store with a small, black case and he opened the driver's side door putting the box under his seat.
“I didn't know that they gave you a box with it.” She told him softly, not even being able to say the word gun.
“I had to buy it extra but I know that you don't like guns so why would I come out with it on me?” He grinned at her, he put the brown paper back that he had in his other hand in the back pocket of the driver's side seat.
“What's that?” She asked, looking towards the back seat.
“I had to get ammunition. I know that you don't want to talk about it but its something that you need to learn.” He told her, starting the car and following Mark. Not sure where he was going on what he had in mind to do for the rest of the day but he wasn't going to ask any questions. He was just going to follow him for a change.
“What do we need to talk about?” She asked him lightly. Putting her sunglasses on that she found in the glove box.
“We need to talk about you shooting that gun off. I know you don't want to-” Tom tried to talk to her quickly.
“No, uh no. That's not something I'm willing to do. I can't do it.” Her eyes grew wide just thinking about holding a gun scared her.
“If you need to use it how the hell are you going to use if you don't know how to? I would rather you shoot that damn gun then to have you laying in a gutter the way Alice was left!” Tom yelled at her, he didn't mean to yell at her but she had to realize that her life was in danger and he wasn't going to watch her be the next one on the news with a reporter begging people to come forward with information.
“Tom I don't want to argue with you about this. I am not going to use that gun.” She shook her head being stubborn as she put her glasses on to shield her eyes from the sun.
“There's nothing to argue about. You are going to learn to shoot that gun some time today. You will know how to at least shoot a gun.” He told her firmly, trying to calm down a little bit. He had thought about it when he bought the gun. In case for any reason that he wasn't around and the gun was left with her if she really needed it then he could feel confident that she knew how to use one.
Jamie si
ghed heavily, she opened her mouth to say something to him and then she shut it, not knowing what to say at all to him. She knew that he was right. If he was gone and she didn't know how to shoot a gun she was as good as dead.
“When are you going to teach me?” She gave in, shrugging her shoulders but not looking at him. She didn't want to see the smug look on his face that he had one that argument.
“Any time you want to. But I want it to be today. I want you to at least hold it. If you can't shoot it then I will understand but I need you to at least hold it in your hands.” He told her, wanting to go slow with her but knowing that things were going so quickly he didn't know when they would need the gun or if they would need it at all but he wanted to be prepared.
There was a moment of silence. She was scared of holding the gun, thinking about it made her heart pound against her chest.
“I don't mean to yell at you. I'm sorry for yelling at you. I really am but if I lost you I don't know what I would do.” Tom whispered to her as he stopped behind Mark's car seeing that there was a red light that they had to stop at.
Tom didn't know where they were headed until they got through the red light and saw that they were heading towards Jamie's trailer. Wondering why Mark would go up that way the conversation was coming back to him from that morning. Mark wanted to see if the cops were still around. Something that Tom had hoped he got out of his head but once Mark got an idea he didn't let go of it.
“What are we doing up here? I thought that you didn't want me to get the car today?” She asked him. Knowing that before they got to the gun shop that he wanted to make sure that she was with him all the time until the killer was caught.
“We aren't up here to get your car. Mark thinks that its a good idea to get our own investigation going.” Tom didn't tell her what he meant, he wasn't going to explain it to her.
“Really?” It took her a few minutes to figure out what Tom was talking about. She didn't want to go looking for trouble, the way she saw it there was already enough trouble coming their way.
“You know Mark. If the cops aren't going to help us we might as well help the cops. Not that we've ever been into something like this but Mark likes to but his nose in where it shouldn't be. You should know that by now knowing him for so long.” Tom grinned over at her.
Mark parked his car on the side of the road outside of Jamie's trailer. Tom pulled over beside him and shut the car off. Thinking that they were going to take Randolph road to see what was going on if they could even get up the road.
“What are we doing here Mark? You never said anything about coming back here.” Tom got out of his car but stood next to it without closing the door.
“Change in plans. I want to see what we might be able to find out back here in the woods.” Mark told him bravely.
“We shouldn't be doing this Mark. I don't have a good feeling about this.” Tom told him seriously seeing Kellie getting out of the car and shutting the passenger side door.
Jamie saw her getting out of the car so she did the same thing. She wasn't going to be the only one left on the side of the road trying to figure out what was going on.
“We can't just stand around and do nothing. I got to thinking that if someone was going to try and hide out and stay close by they would go out back. It had been brought up once before and I thought that we might take a look. It doesn't hurt to take a look around. The girls can go into the house until we come back out of the woods.” Mark told him, he didn't want the girls out there if he could help it.
“No way, we go together or you guys don't go out there at all.” Jamie spoke up. There was no way they were going to separate at a time like this.
“Guys this is stupid. Lets just get back in the cars and leave.” Tom told them. Looking from Mark to Jamie. A little surprised that she would even think about going out there herself.
“They're right Tom. We might find something out there that's useful to the case. And if Jamie really is next then we have to try to find a way to help her.” Kellie pointed out to him. Staring him in the eyes until he looked away.
“I don't want to do this.” Tom whispered, shaking his head.
“We are going to be alright.” Jamie assured him, taking him by the hand and squeezing it lightly.
“That's what you say right now until you're feeling a knife being stabbed into your chest.” He glared at her but was glad that she was standing beside him, glad that his hand was in hers.
“That's not going to happen.” She shook her head slowly.
Tom let go of her hand and opened the car door. Taking his gun out of the case and moved the driver's side seat up so that he could get at the paper back filled with ammunition he loaded his gun that only fit six bullets into it.
“There's no way we are going out there without protection.” He muttered, knowing that he was out numbered as he looked up at the blue sky and saw the sun shining wondering if it would be the last time he saw the sun.
Tom took out the opened box of ammunition and looked up and down the road to see if anyone was coming from either direction. Slamming the driver's side door shut he walked over to Mark and gave him the box of ammunition that he had in his hand.
Mark lifted his shirt and gave him a smile when Tom saw that his gun was already tucked into at his shorts waist band on the side of his hip.
“I had Kellie load it for me while I was driving here. I don't need that man.” He grinned down at him. Everyone looked like a midget to him from being so tall.
“I wish you would have told me that.” Tom muttered and put the box of ammunition on the front seat having to open and close the car door again.
“So we are doing this then.” Mark grinned at him, hoping that they would find something, anything that would help find the killer before the killer found them.
“Yes. I mean everyone else is in agreement I really can't say no now can I?” Tom asked him, not joining him in excitement. He thought it was stupid going to look for trouble. He looked at Jamie but she didn't look scared at all either. For some reason she was looking forward to it.
“Tom if we don't go at this we are just going to be sitting ducks really. We have to try and find something. Besides, its not as scary in the day time as it is at night time.” She whispered to him, thinking that Mark had the right idea after she thought about it for a while.
Tom didn't say anything to her all he did was shake his head. There was nothing he could do to convince them that they were making a mistake.
Mark looked at them and nodded his head as he walked up towards Jamie's trailer, instead of going into it he went around to the back.
Tom sighed and watched the girls follow behind him, he didn't move a muscle until Jamie looked back at him and then he jogged to catch up with them.
If they had only listened to him they wouldn't be in so much pain over a lost one. Over someone that meant a lot to them.
Mark looked around the back yard and didn't and see anything out of the ordinary. Seeing the path going into the woods that they had taken plenty of times before to sit down by the creek and have a few drinks and they came back out alive he was the first one to go in.
“Jamie this really isn't a good idea.” Tom muttered as they followed him into the woods.
Tom had his gun drawn ready for anything while Mark had his tucked away out of sight. He could easily get to his gun if he really needed it.
They walked quietly through the woods until they came to the creek that they had seen several times before. Nothing knew for them, what was knew was there was a black back pack in eye view sitting beside the creek.
Mark spotted it first and stopped before they got to it. Eying Tom and then seeing him nod his head letting Mark know that he was going to be ready for anything, if anything moved then he would be ready to start shooting.
Mark made them stay back. There was Tom, Jamie and then Kellie all standing in a line. Kellie thought it would be easier to be the last one thinking if the needed to run then she wou
ld be first one out of the woods, out of the back yard and into the car where she could call for help if they needed it. She had left her cell phone in the car knowing that there was no reception out in the woods.
When Mark grabbed the bag and put it over his shoulder her heard a muffled scream before he could turn back around to see what was going on.
Everything happened so fast that even when Tom turned around with the gun in his hand he realized that Kellie was missing.
How he didn't hear anything behind him, or Jamie didn't hear anything behind them was beyond him but then they heard the screams coming from Kellie's mouth from a distance. Looking around them none of them saw anything. The killer had snuck up behind them, covered Kellie's mouth and was able to get away at a distance before Kellie could fight to scream out for help. To really scream.
“Kellie!” Mark hollered, hearing his voice echoing through the woods. He ran passed Tom and ran up the through the woods from where he had last heard Kellie's scream.
Stopping not because Tom had hollered at him to come back but because he heard Kellie's screams over and over again. He knew that he was never going to see her again just by the way she was screaming, knowing that she was being butchered like the others.
Mark turned around and saw that Tom and Jamie were still standing there, almost as if they were shock but they knew everything that was going on around them.
He began running towards them, not hearing anything not even Kellie's screaming anymore. When he got closer to Tom and Jamie seeing that they weren't running he hollered at them.
“What are you guys waiting for? There's nothing that we can do now. Lets go!” Mark hollered, running passed them and heading for Jamie's yard.
