Catherine and Mike were there as well as Mike’s parents. They talked about how lovely the wedding was and Mike and Catherine’s honeymoon plans. They were set to leave for Alayna and Adam’s California beach house the next morning. They planned on relaxing at the beach and touring a number of vineyards. And according to them, they were ready to start the baby making process immediately.

After lunch, Cole invited everyone to Carvel Ice Cream which was located just a few blocks from the hotel. “The kids told me it’s the best ice cream ever,” Cole exclaimed. “It would be a shame if I didn’t get a chance to taste it myself.” He winked at little Emily.

She smiled and giggled. “Can we go, Mom?” she pleaded.

“Yes, in a few minutes. Let’s say goodbye to everyone who isn’t coming with us.” Alayna motioned to her family.

They said goodbye to Catherine, Mike, and his parents. All of the Bryants, including Anna’s parents, headed to the ice cream shop. The kids insisted they get soft serve ice cream. After all, it was what Carvel was known for.

Adam pulled out his wallet while standing next to the register.

Cole stepped up. “I got it, man. My treat.”

  “You don’t have to.”

“I know. I promised the kids I would treat them.”

“Thanks. We appreciate it.” Adam turned to his kids. “What do you all say to Mr. Cole?”

“Thank you, Mr. Cole,” they shouted in unison.

“You’re welcome.” Cole took a lick of the ice cream and moaned. It was the best damn ice cream he had ever tasted. The kids were absolutely right.

Anna looked at him and the corner of her lips curved up into a sexy smile. They watched each other intently as they licked the sweet, cold dessert. Cole had to remind himself of where they were and who they were with. Control was starting to become an issue anytime Anna was nearby. He wanted to be touching her at all times, keeping her close.

Alayna nudged Anna’s arm and then turned to face her blocking her view of Cole. “So things are going pretty well, I take it,” Alayna probed quietly.

“Yes, actually they are. I’m not quite sure how things will change once we get back to Chicago and have to work together every day.”

Alayna squeezed her hand. “It’s only temporary. As much as I love your brother with every ounce of my being, I am not quite sure we could work together.” Alayna giggled. “I don’t think we would get much work done.”

“Too much information, sister,” Anna cringed but with a sincere smile. She didn’t want to think about her brother and sister-in-law like that. Although it was evident how much they enjoyed being together. She looked at Cole sitting at a nearby table and changed the focus back to their blissful moments. Visions of him taking her on a work bench while the new club was being constructed flooded her head. She thought about the many spots she could bind him to in the new place.

“Anna? Anna?” Alayna tried to get her attention.

“Hmmm?” Anna snapped back to reality and looked at her.

“Damn. Things must be really good.”

Anna nodded with a glazed over smile on her face.

Everyone said their goodbyes at the airport. Anna’s parents were staying a few more days in New York to do some tours with Mike’s parents. Anna and Cole were heading back to Chicago. Once they were in the air, Anna pulled out her laptop and started putting together plans for the night club. Cole leaned over the arm rest and kissed her ear and then her neck.

“You are distracting me,” she uttered trying to focus on the design plans in front of her. The touch of his lips sent electricity and warmth throughout her body. All of it gathered in between her legs.

“I know,” he whispered and continued kissing her.

The dampness in her panties and the throbbing ache in her clit was starting to drive her mad. “Bathroom, two minutes,” Anna demanded. She got up, grabbed one of those motion sickness bags, and headed to the airplane rest room. She didn’t give Cole a chance to react or reject her.

At first, Cole was stunned by the suggestion Anna made—a demand was probably a more accurate way to describe it. It took him a few moments to process what she had said. Fuck yeah! Cole was more than game. She tended to surprise him at times, and he absolutely fucking loved it.

He headed to the restroom. He gently knocked on the door. When Anna opened it, he quietly slipped in with a huge grin on his face. He just couldn’t contain his excitement on his face or in his pants, and he didn’t give a rat’s ass about it either.

It was damn tight in there. Cole put his hands on her ass and yanked her close to him. She kissed him and rubbed her mid-section against his hard cock. Anna gave him a few pointers on the most comfortable way to have sex in the bathroom of an airplane.

“Have you done this before?” Cole questioned with a raised brow. He was really hoping they were joining the mile high club together.

“No, but I did watch a porn once with airplane sex,” Anna said very matter of fact.

“Jesus Christ. Where have you been all my life?” Cole realized what he was thinking in his head actually came out of his mouth. What he said could be construed as pretty serious by many women who were looking for marriage and babies. He looked at Anna and nervously waited to see how she would respond.

“I don’t mind watching porn. I actually enjoy it. We should watch it together sometime,” she suggested with seduction in her tone and a wicked smile which would bring any sensible man to his knees. “Now, if we are done chatting, I want to f—”

Cole sealed her lips with a hungry kiss. He didn’t want to talk anymore either. She turned him on like no other woman he had ever encountered. The more he discovered about her, the deeper the need and want for her became.

Anna broke their kiss. She turned to face the door of the lavatory and pulled up her skirt so he could take her from behind.

Cole noticed she wasn’t wearing panties and the urge to bury himself deep inside grew even more than he thought was humanly possible. He couldn’t get his jeans down fast enough. He grabbed a condom from his pocket and rolled it on. The whole time he was doing this, he watched Anna playing with herself, priming herself for his thick cock.

He thrust into her with a need so deep it nearly frightened him. He enjoyed everything about Anna—her mind, her body, her personality, her talent, and her work ethic. He had known her for nearly a year now but only for a short time on a more…personal level.

Anna reached in between her legs and caressed Cole’s balls. The woman had magical fingers—magical everything. Cole grasped her pony tail and pulled her hair, giving him easy access to her neck. He kissed her neck and whispered in her ear, “God Anna, you feel so fucking amazing.”

  “Fuck me hard,” she responded.

Anna couldn’t get enough of Cole. He might be just the distraction she needed to clear her head and relax a little. He could also be a distraction that would take over her life.

“I wish you were naked,” he groaned. “I want to suck on those sweet tits of yours.” Cole’s hand traveled up her tank top and grabbed her breast. He could feel her hard nipple through the silk of her bra.

Anna reached down to her clit and pinched the swollen nub. “Come with me, babe.”

Cole thrust once. Twice. On the third time, he felt her pussy muscles clamp down around his cock. They tried to control their cries of passion as Anna squeezed every last drop of cum from him.

Anna leaned back and let her head rest on Cole. She steadied her breathing. “That was….ummm…amazing. Welcome to the mile high club, babe.”

Cole chuckled. “Every time with you is amazing.” He kissed her head and pulled out.

He threw away the full condom. They both cleaned up and straightened their clothes.

“So when we go out there, rub my back and ask me if I am all right. Ask me if I want another Dramamine. Okay?”

Cole snickered. “I was wondering why you grabbed a barf bag.”

  T
hey left the bathroom, and Cole did just as she asked as they walked back to their seats. Anna pretended she was sick the whole time. They sat down and buckled up.

Cole leaned toward her. “You’re a pretty good actress,” he said quietly.

She shrugged her shoulders. “Thanks. Definitely better than the porn star.”

They laughed as a flamboyant male flight attendant came up to them and handed them each a glass of champagne. “To celebrate. Welcome to the club.” He winked at Cole.

“Busted,” Cole uttered under his breath.

  They both burst out laughing.

Anna and Cole spent the rest of the flight on the design plans for the club. He had already hired a crew to come in and gut the place. The space would be ready later this week to start implementing design plans.

Cole had a car pick them up at the airport. They arrived at Anna’s place, and Cole walked her up to her apartment. They were standing outside her door. Cole put one hand on Anna’s waist and the other on the door by her head. His eyes were hungry and begging to come in.

“I know you want me to invite you in, Cole. I want you to. I really do—”

Cole sighed and rested his forehead on hers. “I hear a but coming and not the kind I prefer.”

She smiled at him and caressed his cheek. “But…I have more work to do and need to get to the office early tomorrow morning.”

“I understand.” He softly kissed her lips. “I just don’t like it.”

“I know. How about we meet for lunch Tuesday and we get going on these plans?”

“Sounds good. Maybe we can run over to the warehouse, too?”

“Perfect.” She kissed him again and turned to go into her place.

Cole grabbed her and spun her around giving her one more passionate kiss making her weak in the knees. “Until Tuesday.”

  Chapter Eight

“Did you get here at the butt crack of dawn?” Becca asked as she walked into Anna’s office and plopped herself down in the chair.

“Just about.” Anna didn’t even look up at Becca. She was so focused on selecting the right paint swatches for Cole and Trent’s club.

Becca sat there drinking her coffee and waiting for Anna to say something, anything, about the weekend. “Well?”

  “Well what?”

“Anna, you know what,” she said impatiently.

Anna looked up at Becca and smiled. She couldn’t help it.

“Oh my God! You two had sex,” Becca exclaimed.

“Shhh!” Anna giggled and got up to close her office door. She didn’t want anyone to walk in and hear. Not that a lot of people stopped by for surprise visits, but she still had to be cautious.

“Details. I want all of the details.”

“I am not going to give you all of the details. And yes, Cole and I did have sex. More than once.”

  “And?”

  “We are involved.”

  “Obviously.”

“No, I mean we are boyfriend and girlfriend. Gosh that sounds just as corny as when he asked me.”

“Oh my goodness! He asked you to be his girlfriend?” Becca put her hand over her heart. “That is so sweet.”

“I gave him a hard time about it. He sounded like a teenager. I’ll admit though, it was pretty damn adorable.”

“That is so awesome. I am so happy for you.”

“It is still all new. We have a huge job to do for him and Trent. So we’ll see how everything goes.”

Becca nodded agreeing with Anna. She couldn’t seem to wipe the glowing smile off her face. She was so happy to see Anna involved with Cole. Every time she saw them together, she could see the way they looked at each other with hot, sexual tension.

Anna showed Becca the design plans for the club along with some of the photos she had taken of the various clubs in New York City. Becca helped her narrow down the paint colors to three choices as well as the flooring selections. Anna chose the perfect light fixtures.

Anna called Elijah, a local mural artist, whose work was nationally recognized. She met him a few years ago at an African-American art and design show.

“Hey girl, what’s up?” he answered his phone.

“Hey Elijah. How have you been?”

“Covered in paint from head and toe and wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Anna smiled knowing the exact feeling. It was the same feeling she got when she stood in the middle of a completed space—a feeling of absolute satisfaction. “I have some business for you. Do you have time for a dear friend?”

“Always for you, my sweet thang. What’s up?”

Anna told Elijah about the idea for the mural on the wall at the club. He was thrilled to be part of this tribute to Chicago’s music history particularly since his family had been here for generations. He rambled off some names and ideas and Anna jotted them down. They agreed to set up a meeting with Cole and Trent the following week.

Cole arrived at the office. Trent strolled in ten minutes later.

“Did you get everything you wanted in New York City?” Trent asked sarcastically. His question was meant to hold a double meaning.

“I did and a whole lot more.” Cole gave his brother a genuine smile. “She’s amazing, man. Absolutely amazing.” He sighed and leaned back in his chair.

Trent smiled at his brother. “Good to hear, bro. Just don’t fuck it up. We need her.”

“I won’t. Not this one,” he said with affirmation in his tone. Ever since he dropped Anna off, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. He had barely slept last night. How was it he spent two nights with her and couldn’t seem to sleep without her?

  “Pretty serious about her, huh?”

“Not right now, but I can see a future with her. I have never said shit like that before.” What he said to his brother was partially true. Cole was actually getting pretty serious about Anna, and it was happening so fast. He didn’t know how to take it or how to slow things down. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to either.

“That is true.” Trent smiled at his brother. He could tell Cole was thinking about Anna by the expression on his face. He hoped it would work out between them. He thought the two of them were perfect together but never mentioned it. It wasn’t his place, and he had the business set as a priority. If their relationship went sour, it would definitely ruin their business connection.

“Hey, tell me what you thought about the plans I texted over to you. You texting back awesome didn’t really tell me much.”

Cole and Trent talked about the design plans. Trent had already started making a list of the blues and jazz bands he knew. He had also started brainstorming about some events including the grand opening.

“I have a really good feeling about this club, Cole.”

“Yeah, me, too. I think it is just what Chicago needs. We are going to be catering to a sleek crowd. I want it to be Chicago’s it place.”

  * * * *

Anna walked into her office the next day. Becca stopped her before she opened the door.

“A delivery came for you this morning.”

  “Samples?”

“No. Open the door. You’ll see.”

Anna opened her door and found a huge bouquet of roses in all different colors. She opened the card and read: A rose for every hour we have been apart. I miss you and can’t wait until lunch. –Cole.

  Anna smiled.

“He is kind of sappy, huh?”

“In ways, yes. He is also funny and sexy and…why am I telling you all of this?” Anna set down her bags and took a seat at her desk. She wore a navy sleeveless dress today with a light yellow and white scarf. Professional enough for a client meeting but sexy enough for lunch with Cole.

“Because you are absolutely glowing, and I am your best friend.”

“Dammit. I don’t want to be glowing, Becca. It’s just not me. I have to stay focused.”

“You are the most focused woman I know, Anna. It is okay to glow, too. I think you finally found yo
ur match with this one.” Becca walked out of Anna’s office.

Anna sighed as she thought about Cole. She hadn’t stopped thinking about him. Even with thoughts and images of Cole popping up in her head, she was happy she was very productive yesterday. She tossed and turned last night. She missed him more than she cared to admit.

She finished up the plans for the club. She and Becca put together all the samples and packed them in Anna’s bag when there was a knock at the door. They both looked up and saw Cole standing in the doorway to her office. He looked sexy as ever wearing navy dress slacks and a light gray dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

“Hey there. I thought I was meeting you at the restaurant.” Anna put the last of the samples in her bag.

“Change of plans. I couldn’t wait that long,” Cole confessed with a sexy lopsided grin on his face.

Becca smiled as she glanced between Cole and Anna, who couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Becca swore the temperature in Anna’s office increased when those two gazed at each other. “I should probably leave you two to your lunch plans.” She walked to the door. “Hi, Cole.”

“Hi, Becca,” Cole politely addressed Becca, but his eyes remained on Anna.

Becca walked out of Anna’s office. Cole strode in and shut the door behind him. Anna’s eyes stayed locked with his. He walked up to her, pulled her close, and his lips met hers for a feverish kiss. The intensity of the kiss made Anna moan. Their lips parted.

  “Miss me?” she teased.

“You know I did.” He chastely kissed her lips again.

“Well, I missed you, too.” Her lips met his for a deep, lingering kiss. “Thank you for the roses. They are beautiful. My life feels like a flower garden lately.” She smiled thinking about all the flowers he had delivered to her hotel room in New York City. It was a shame she couldn’t take them home with her. She did manage to sneak one rose into her suitcase.

Cole grabbed her bag, and they headed to lunch. They chatted about the ideas for the club. Anna was so passionate about what she did. Cole watched her closely as she talked about the details. Her eyes lit up when she was particularly excited about something. He loved the twinkle she got in her eyes, but she also showed a fierce sense of determination. He focused in on her lips as she spoke. Wrong move. All he could think about was kissing them and feeling them on his body. As she moved a fork full of food into her mouth, he saw her tongue. It reminded him of her licking his shaft.
