Bloody Vows

Christian chuckles at the thought, and then he stops after a minute. The car remains silent until he pulls in front of the mansion, “I have thought about it for a few minutes, and that would make the most sense. I believe we can pull it off. The reception will be a little interesting, but I will save the date.”
My feet hit the black pavement to run quickly inside the castle. My feeble attempt to sneak upstairs undetected, fails miserably, because Ian stops me, “Oh there you are! I was wondering if you were going to make it to school today.”
A nervous chuckle escapes, as my feet make it to the next step. My hands constantly pull on Christian’s large charcoal shirt, in which covers my knees. “I plan to go to school today. I just need to change my clothes real quick.”
My feet make it a few more steps until Ian comments again, “I love the ‘just fucked’ look. You wear it quite well, chick!”
He receives an evil glare, but he laughs hysterically. My head shakes with disgust, as he remains at the bottom of the steps.
I make it inside my room in three minutes flat. I chose to go casual today, by wearing blue jean shorts, an ivory shirt, and tennis shoes. I pull my hair up, and put in the earrings, in which Christian bought me.
After I apply my makeup, a knock on my bedroom door sounds, “Are you ready, Princess? I am here, as your escort along with Ian. We are ready when you are, love.”
Since the last time I was kidnapped by Reno, the Enforcers escort me everywhere. After I open my bedroom doors, Ian hands me my bags. He keeps a smirk on his face, but my head shakes in disgust. I casually descend the stairs, and make it to the elevator. The button on the keypad is depressed. We quickly step inside the elevator, and then wait after the doors close. My fiancé greets me on the other side as soon as the doors swing open. I immediately show him affection, and he hugs me.
He holds me close to him, “You realize that you can skip school today. I will make it worth your wild if you do.”
I brush my lips against his softly just one last time, “I know you want me to stay home, but I have to go. I love you Chris, but I am sorry.”
Leo steps into the light, “Here is your new cell phone, Princess. I went ahead, and added a new tracker to keep you safe.”
My new cell phone is in my possession, and my tiara rests on my head. It is time to go—or I will be tardy.
He opens my door for me, “I honestly tried to make you stay home for the day. Have a great day, babe. I will see you tonight when you come home.”
“I love you, and I will see you later.”
I put my seat belt on, as he closes my car door. Ian beats Brannon by calling out shotgun. My backpack lays in the backseat of my car. I wave goodbye, ignite my car, and sped away in minutes.
Ian lowers my stereo down, “That is really odd for Chris to try and persuade you to stay home. I wonder what is up with that.”
Ian presses the green button above my head, and we are on the main road past the gates. I shook my head, “I think it is over the engagement—or he just misses me.”
Brannon shakes his head no, “I can smell an ulterior motive a mile away, love. Chris worries that something will happen today. I can feel something is about to go down today, love.”
Ian points to Brannon, “You see! I am not the only one who suspects your fiancé has ulterior motives.”
I pull the car out on the interstate. Ian points ahead of me, “That would be the fairy princess driving. If I were you, I would keep a safe distance from her.”
I glance over at him strangely, “I like Rosalie! There is nothing wrong with her!”
Brannon points ahead of us, “You can be friends with her all that you want love, but she is a bloody awful driver. I am surprised Joey is letting her drive today.”
We watch Rosalie cut off a few drivers without checking her mirrors. I chuckle a little bit, and back off my speed. A few other supernatural creatures are cursing her out, and flipping her off. She is not using any of her signals either. I keep a few car lengths away from her until she jerks the steering wheel hard to the right. She gets off our exit just in time.
I worry about Rosalie, and her occupants in the car, “That is awful to watch! You are absolutely right about her terrible driving skills. Where did she learn to drive?”
“She has been in a lot of wrecks. From what the FOL tell me, she was worse than this,” Ian admits to me.
I peek at him, “If this is better, then I hate to see what was worse. I believe she needs to be off the road. She just cut off a few more cars, and they are not entirely too happy either! How much worse was she?”
Brannon squints, “After she wrecked the first five cars, none of the FOL wanted to be in the car with her. She has issues with the brake and gas pedals.”
I giggle nervously for a little bit. I watch the horror continue, as she ignores the red light. She drives straight through it. After the stoplight turns green, I follow a few more car lengths behind her, and nervously watch her pull into the parking lot. She almost makes it to safety until she rams her car into a light pole.
Ian gasps, as he fumbles for the door, “Joey will yank her keys from her now!”
I park my car, and then I grab my cell phone. I run over to make sure that she is okay.
“Stupid fucking brakes! It is not my fault the damn car refused to stop!” Rosalie muttered.
I open her door for her, “Are you okay, Rosalie?”
Her two Enforcers are snickering in the backseat.
“I think you need to call Joey, so that he can get a tow truck here,” Ember sighs, as she shakes her head with disgust.
Rosalie tries to stop me from dialing, “Oh please don’t call my husband! He will be so mad at me!”
I will have his answer in a few minutes, “Well… how are you doing today, Princess Jeannie? Did Chris finally pop the big question yet?”
Rosalie continues to beg me, but I have to continue, “Chris popped the question just last night, but more importantly, your wife was just in an accident here in the university parking lot.”
Joey didn’t hang up the phone or anything. He materializes here with one snap. I jump back out of shock. Joey glances at Rosalie, and he seems hot, “This is exactly why I never let you drive!”
Rosalie commences to cry, but Joey walks in front of her car to survey the damage. He shakes his head with disgust, “You were never supposed to drive in the first fucking place! We have our baby to worry about now! You will never drive again! I am taking you to the midwife right now!”
“Oh please don’t! The brakes failed again! I am not that bad of a driver! Please, Jeannie! Tell him, Jeannie! Please tell my husband I am not a terrible driver!” Rosalie begs me.
Joey gazes over at me, crossing his arms, and he anticipates my answer. Joey is about six feet also. He is stocky like Christian, and he also has muscles. He has the same color of eyes as Christian, and a tan too. The only differences between them, is that Joey has tattoos all over him. He used to have piercings in his face, but I guess he took them out since the last time I saw him. The eyeliner is off too. He is gorgeous, but he can be very intimidating when he wants to be.
I glance over at Rosalie in disbelief, and I finally have to inform Joey, “I am sorry to report this, but she cut a few people off today. She also ran a couple of red lights. I am sorry Joey, but you need to suspend her from driving all together,” I turn to Rosalie, “I am sorry, but I think the world of you. I never want anything bad to happen to you—or your baby. Please don’t be mad at me. I am only answering this, because I am your friend, and I care about you.”
Joey nods at me approvingly, and he stares back at his wife, “Did you think I would never notice? The FOL tell me every fucking thing you do! You were banned from driving in the first place! You could have hurt yourself, our baby—or someone else! This is exactly why I never let you drive anywhere!”
“Thanks a lot, Jeannie! Now he will take my keys away!” she hissed at me.
Joey sighs from the front-end damage. He
takes out his phone to call a tow truck. With one swift move, he picks his wife up, “You will miss school today, whether you like it or not! I will make you some hot chocolate when we arrive home. Thanks, Princess Jeannie and congratulations on your engagement to Chris.”
Rosalie’s face lit up, “Will you add extra marshmallows?”
Joey grins, “Of course!”
Joey disappears with his wife in a flash. The two Fairy Enforcers disappear also. Ember waits, and another blue car shows up.
Uriel and Raphael are her two guardians today. “Are you feeling okay? Do you need to see a doctor?” I voice my concern.
Ember’s Enforcers already contacted Gabriel. He shows up a few minutes later with an expression of worry on his face. Gabriel is Ember’s husband, and the father to her unborn baby.
She smiles nervously, “Yeah, I am okay now.”
Gabriel could also pass as another brother to Christian, Alexander, and Joey. His hair is more of a golden color. His name is Gabriel Aduro, and he is an angel. He is a few inches shorter, but he has an angular face with bright blues. I can see why Ember married him. He is always nice and polite to me. Joey and Gabe appear to have come out of a business meeting, since they are both still wearing suits.
Gabriel kisses his wife, and he continues to hold her close to him, “I will take you home to have you looked at. I want to make sure everything is okay with you.”
Ember tries to step back from him, “I am fine, and I need to go to class.”
“For my own benefit, let me take you to the doc,” he sweetly persuades her. He never raises a voice either.
Ember shows her annoyance, as they disappear with a snap of his fingers. I stand in the parking lot with Ian and Brannon. We shrug our shoulders to see that angels and fairies have similar attributes. They can disappear with a snap of their fingers.
I point at their vacant spot, “I wish we could snap, and disappear like that!”
Ian motions for me to go inside, “We can still fly though. We are not too far off, chick. Now… we need to get you to class, before you are late, chick.”
We watch Ransom pull in at the last minute with Tanya. You can still smell the wet dog stench, and the stench is almost nauseating. I thought the BIB was joking with me until I smelled Tanya for the first time yesterday. Ransom Taylor has dark-olive skin with wicked bright-green eyes. His eyes are brighter than Ember’s. He has long silky raven hair, and he is equally as tall as Christian is. His hair goes past his shoulders too. He is in casual wear today. Tanya is beautiful. She also has raven hair, and emerald eyes. She is very slender in the back, but she has a cute pregnant belly in the front. I would be as far along as she is, if my baby would have lived.
A part of me is a little jealous of her, but happy for her at the same time. I shrug it off, and try to put the past in the back of my mind. We make it to our first class without any more incidents.
Tanya hands me an envelope, “I am having a baby shower, and I would like for you to attend, if you have nothing else to do.”
I take her invitation, “Of course I will be there. Do you mind being a bridesmaid at my wedding?”
“Oh sure! I will have to double-check with Ransom, but I am positive it will be okay. What date are you looking at, so that I can tell him? Oh… before I forget, congratulations on your engagement to Christian! I am so happy for you both! Let me see the ring!”
“Nothing is set in stone yet, but October the thirty-first should be the date.”
I reveal the ring, and she grins at me, “Oh it is such a gorgeous ring! Christian has great taste! I love Halloween weddings. Did Rosalie ask you to be a bridesmaid at her wedding this weekend? She called me yesterday to inform me that she ordered too many bridesmaid dresses. Are you going to their wedding too?”
“That is odd, she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids too. Of course, I accepted. I am actually surprised she invited me in the first place, since we hardly know each other.”
“I know! But… it is still nice that she included us. I think Christian and Ransom already staged this. They remain Joey’s best friends since they have known each other for so long.”
“In that case we better enjoy their wedding this weekend.”
The professor breaks up our conversation. We listen intently to his lectures until his class ends an hour later. Tanya and I venture from class to class together. We sail through the first half of our school day with ease. Rosalie sends me a text message, which states she is okay, and their baby is okay too. I instantly type her, and ask her about Ember. Rosalie texts back a few minutes later to state that Ember is laying right next to her in bed, eating a lot of ice cream. Her baby is perfectly okay too, but they both have to remain in bed for the remainder of the week. They are in the first trimesters of their pregnancies.
Chapter 3
We attend our fifth period class, and I sit in the back. The bell rings, and we are in our seats.
“I would like to introduce the class to two popular business women. I would love for all of you to meet Shelly Smeltz and Tracy Hooker. These women are two successful business executives. They will take your questions after they discuss what they exactly do. Please help me by welcoming these two lovely vampire business owners,” the werewolf professor announces.
“I told you so!” Ian whispers in my ear.
Tanya turns around to face me, and she tries to hide her smirk. I wait for my laptop to ping. Tanya immediately sent me a message.
Wolfpackprincess: How did they earn their last names, Jeannie?
I try to keep a straight face, and just shrug my shoulders. The two blondes saunter in shaking their hips. Shelly apparently dyed her hair since the last time I have seen her. Her appearance is one of questionable attire, and the other has a huge nose in which overshadows her face. They introduce themselves to the rest of the class.
“Over five years ago, I joined with my sister Barbie, and we are the co-founders to Hooker Industries. We work in coalition with Hunter Enterprises,” Tracey talks first.
Tanya and I snicker a little bit at Hooker Industries. My laptop pings with another instant message from Tanya.
Wolfpackprincess: Isn’t Tracy, Christian’s ex-girlfriend?
Vampprincess1: She was his girlfriend at one time. They broke up, and then a couple of weeks later Christian asked me to date him.
Tanya stifles another small snicker, and she types another message.
Wolfpackprincess: At least he has better taste now! Her last name is ridiculous! She has a piss poor attitude when it comes to werewolves. Ransom hates these bitches with a passion!
Tracy and Shelly finally notice that I am in class today. They smile at me in a taunting demeanor, and not in a friendly way. I purposely flash my large engagement ring right in front of their view. Tracy notices it, and then she makes a sour face at me. I quit acting up and listen to other vampires in my class hit on the women. I find them both to be rich dingbats.
I send Ian a text to his phone.
Vampprincess1: Is Barbie the same Barbie, as in Alexander’s Barbie?
I patiently wait for a response, and Ian finally takes his phone out, sighing.
Kingkinky: That would be the one. I thought you knew.
I shake my head no at him, and he chuckles. The class ends with a flurry of questions. My laptop moves to its case, and my books are back in my bag for the next class. I am the last one to leave the room. Tracy stops me before I could exit. I thought she would play nice, and congratulate me. Ian instantly slid his fangs out.
Tracy slams the door shut to prevent me from moving on to my next class. She slid her fangs out, “You can relax, Ian! I want to have a few words with our darling Princess! Is that okay with you?”
Ian pulls me behind him, and he is ready to fight, “I know what you bitches are capable of, and I am here to squash it right now! Brannon and I refuse to play nice if you bitches insist on holding up our Princess any further!” he warns.
My fangs naturally descend wit
h excitement. “You are a fucking hybrid! You are unable to do shit to us, Princess!” Shelly scoffs at me.
My bags drop to the ground, and I growl, “I really don’t appreciate it when vampires insist on threatening me with their fangs! I am capable of a lot more things than what you two bitches think! What do you two want to discuss with me, before I consider your fangs as mutual threats?”
Tracy steps within inches of my face huffing at me. She retracts her fangs, “Christian will never love you. If you believe that, then you are a fucking idiot. He is only with you, because you are a princess. That is why he is willing to go through with this whole charade. Christian will never love anyone—but himself. You forgot the number one rule with vampires. Vampires are the greediest of all supernatural creatures. We only care about ourselves. I am simply here to inform you that he will ditch you as soon as he has what he wants. All vampires are greedy, even Ian here is greedy. I want to remind you that you are living in our world, Princess. If you honestly believe he will love you until the end of time, you are sadly mistaken. This is not just some stupid fairy tale. Wake up Princess, before you have your life and existence ended by Christian. You should not trust vampires these days. If I were you, I would give that engagement ring right back to him.”
I retract my fangs, because these women are not a threat to me. In fact, they are jokes. I pick up my bags, “You are exactly right about one thing. You can’t trust vampires. I definitely will never trust—or believe the vampires, who are standing in front of me right now. I think that I will trust the ones who are keeping me safe. I know Christian well enough to give him my full trust. I am sorry that you are struggling with our engagement. That is your problem and not mine.”
Ian claps his hands sarcastically at the jokes standing in front of us, “The jealousy is outstanding! Nice try, but I am sorry to inform you. Chris is madly in love with our Princess. He was a wreck when she left for all those months. I believe we know Chris a lot better than you two bitches do.”
