Love Accidental

“You’re a client, and that is where all the client information goes,” I said.

  “But I thought—”

“I know you thought it was an exclusive agreement, and it is. But at the end of the day, it’s still a client’s contract, so it lives in that drawer with all the others.”

I could see Piper was horrified I had put her folder with the others. I had said that the cold hard facts would hurt.

You should have trusted me more, and not got involved. Now, look at the situation.

I opened the folder and held the agreement right in front of her face. I pointed to the clause which clearly stated she shouldn’t be with anyone while she was under the terms of the agreement.

“You have no need to shove that in my face,” Piper hissed.

“Well, you were the one who was—”

Piper cut me off mid-sentence and butted in. “I told you I was not going to see Kyle. That card was supposed to be in the trash.”

I could see Piper was genuine with what she was saying.

“Just don’t be so fucking stubborn and hard-headed,” she yelled. “Fuck Evan, just because you control everything by what is written there.”

Piper stood and faced off against me. I dropped the agreement to the floor and wrapped my arms around her. I placed my lips on hers and kissed her in my strong embrace. Our lips touched, and I could feel Piper melt into my arms.

I rubbed the front of her body and placed my hand on her pussy. I gripped hard and stared into her eyes.

“While the contract is in force, your pussy remains mine, and mine only,” I murmured.

Piper looked into my eyes endearingly and wrapped her arms around me.

“Can I ask you something, Evan?” Piper murmured.

“What do you want to know?” I asked, aroused by her.

“Will you be servicing those other clients while we are under our agreement?” she asked.

You had to go and ask me that? I’m not going to lie to you, and you may not like the answer.

I would usually think about what I was saying at this point, but I’d had enough of her attitude today. I wanted her to understand her position with respect to the contract. My whole intention that day had been to discuss the agreement with Piper but in a much different way. I wanted to tell her our relationship had progressed beyond the contract. I was going to tell her the agreement put too many restrictions on our relationship. Our conversation had gone a totally different way. We had discussed the contract, all right, but under very different circumstances.

“Well, if I decide to service any other clients,” I said. “That’s my business and my business alone. It has nothing to do with you.”

  “Oh!” she said.

“After all, it’s my business, and it’s me alone that makes any decisions regarding it,” I said.

“I was just wondering,” she replied.

“No matter what happens or what you think. Remember, whatever I decide, it’s just business!”

We have just taken a few steps back in our relationship. Damn you, Piper.

I could feel Piper stiffen as I released her from my embrace.

I looked into her eyes. “You just have to trust me.”

Her puppy dog eyes melted me. But I was too proud to give in completely.

  Chapter 30

  Piper

I went into the office, even though nobody else was working. I wanted to get away from everything for a while. I was pissed and still reeling from how yesterday had gone.

After all the arguments finished, Evan had placed his hand on my pussy, and I was sure he had wanted sex. I was up for it. Make up sex was fantastic. Then it didn’t happen, which pissed me off even more. I left the hotel suite frustrated and feeling horny.

Evan left me with a hot pussy out in the cold and the rain. How ironic.

I knew Evan was punishing me for Kyle’s business card and for the way I had both judged him and misjudged him. He had given me good reason to be left in the cold. And he had rubbed it in my face that I was just a customer like all the others. I would be filed away. I guessed he would just want me to provide him with a picture when my baby was born. Then he would lock it away in his damned box. He wouldn’t even know what the baby looked like.

All night, I had tossed and turned in bed. That was half the reason I had come to the office. The apartment stifled me, and I had no distractions there. My thoughts wouldn’t stop churning in my head. God, Evan would be a father to my child, and there was a good chance he wouldn’t be interested in how his child was actually growing up. In fact, he would continue to service other clients, and both my child and I would be another statistic.

Come on Evan, answer your goddamned phone.

That had been the worst thing; he had not answered my calls or returned any of my messages. The player. If he wanted to punish me, he was undoubtedly doing it with a vengeance. I was in a pit of pure torment.

I thought about his life before I arrived back on the scene. How could one person live a life of such loneliness? This was not the Evan I had grown up loving. The one who’d been sweet, kind, and considerate. Could breaking up with me when we were younger have caused all of this? Had it hurt him so much that he couldn’t face any other relationship apart from me? And now, even that had gone to shit. The damned contract had come between us. It had brought us together, and now it pushed us apart again.

I thought about the wooden box he had put on the table; it had been crammed full of small envelopes. He had endless numbers of kids roaming around, and he had no idea who they all were now. The reality of the situation was a big slap in the face. Damn! A cold hard wallop right on the kisser. His children could even be kids I knew. And if it was word of mouth, some of his kids could be best friends, or in a sick and twisted way, they could end up dating each other in years to come.

You knew he had kids, but not that many.

I continued sorting a few things around the office while my mind churned away. Could I trust him after yesterday? He had made such a point of saying that I was just another client, and if he wanted to continue being the Baby Maker, that was his choice.

I knew Evan had this job and being with other women was a part of it; he also gave all of the money to charity which, in itself, was a massive undertaking from him. But there was one dominant feeling that came from all of this. I was not sure if all the other clients had realized this yet. He was basically just a high-class whore who sold himself for money, good deeds or not. He had his own sexual needs that needed fulfilling. He did it by presenting himself as a super stud. A cock for hire.

I had nearly finished in the office, and I decided to call my mom. I needed to hear that voice of reason. I still couldn’t tell her about everything that was going on. Maybe I could tell her some of it. She would say I should choose someone like Kyle. Then she would tell me something like this was bound to happen. It was not something I really wanted to hear, but I needed somewhere to vent my frustrations.

I reached into my bag and pulled out my cell phone. The damn thing had been acting up; the ringing sound worked, and then it didn’t. It had turned into a real piece of junk. Now the damned thing had turned itself off. I turned the phone on. I waited for a few seconds until it started. Shit. I noticed I had received a text from Evan, but over two hours ago. Shit, he had wanted me to pass by his house.

Sorry, Mom, you will have to wait. Evan wants me.

Stupid fucking gadgets. Just when you need your cell phone to work, it has a problem. If I had seen the message, I could have been at Evan’s house. God, and with any luck, we could have made up our differences and been halfway through some extremely amazing makeup sex.

I grabbed all my things and threw them into my bag. I rushed all around the office and turned everything off that I had used.

Come on elevator. Quickly, hurry up.

I hoped we would finally put things right after yesterday. It had been too much to bear. I halted at a stop light and tried to call Evan
. Shit, the phone had gone off again. I turned it back on. The screen came to life. I dialed his number.

Crap, he wasn’t answering again. I threw the phone onto the passenger seat and started to drive again. My phone buzzed. I had received a message. It was from Evan, saying he would call me later. Shit, I was almost at his house. Might as well keep going.

I had a feeling he wasn’t home; there was no car in the driveway. There were no lights on, and the whole area was deadly silent. Fuck, Evan, if you had meant the hotel, you should have said the hotel. I dashed back around the side of the house.

I climbed back into the car and headed off in the direction of the hotel. I got stuck in traffic, so I thought I would try calling him again. Still no answer. Was he just ignoring me on purpose? Or is the stupid fucking phone not working? I didn’t know.

I hope you’re actually there, and I hope we can put things right after yesterday.

After adding an extra thirty minutes to my trip, I finally reached the hotel. I found a parking space and noticed Evan’s car over by the hotel lobby. At least I had finally found him. I couldn’t have driven anywhere else. Oh, and the tenseness I felt was too much to handle. My head felt like it was going to explode if I didn’t say something soon.

I sauntered across the parking lot and entered the reception lobby. I thought it strange as the desk staff looked at me and began whispering amongst themselves.

Why are they whispering? Fuck, are they talking about me?

I crossed the lobby, and I could see the elevator door opening. Evan stepped out, and I began to smile. A blonde lady closely followed him. I had seen her in one of the pictures on his phone.

My mind wandered, and I imagined a huge fight.

“Evan, you fucking piece of shit,” I said.

“What are you on about?” he asked.

“She’s your new client. I’ve seen her picture.”

“So, she is a client just like you,” he said.

“I thought I meant more than that to you,” I yelled. “You have lied and cheated.”

The hotel staff and the hotel visitors stopped what they were doing. They watched me. I was not embarrassed; I had definitely had enough of his cheating ways.

“You and this fucking Baby Maker business,” I screamed. “You’re just a man whore, and I want nothing to do with you.”

Everyone stood shocked when I shouted “man whore” and “Baby Maker.” Evan looked around and could see all eyes turned toward him.

  “Piper, calm down, it’s—”

“Don’t fucking tell me to calm down. That is bullshit. You’re just treating us all the same. So, when you want a fuck, you give us a call.”

“You’re way overacting; it’s just business,” he replied.

Evan walked towards me. The blonde walked past and continued on her way.

“I suppose you’re finished with her, and you want to fuck me, now,” I yelled in his face.

“Piper, it’s nothing like that. Business is business.”

“I don’t give a fuck about your business,” I said. “I want you.” I turned to the blonde. “He’s only using you for sex.”

She stopped in her tracks and returned to my side.

“It’s just business,” she said. “I’m the same as you, but he has just serviced me. Twice, and I loved every single second of it.”

  “He’s using us,” I screamed.

“He might be using you,” she said. “But I understand the contract, and I don’t care who else he sees.”

Aargh, she was siding with him. She knew all about the contract and didn’t care. Had she no morals? Damn. Fuck her. Fuck them all.

I continued to scream at Evan, and he just let me carry on. I was making a huge ass of myself. But I didn’t care at all. He deserved it, well and truly.

I shook my head and realized I had imagined all of this. None of the staff or visitors looked in my direction. I was only tormenting myself. I turned my attention back to Evan and the blonde. I wasn’t imagining the two of them. I could see from the way they talked that she was happy. Orgasm happy? They both laughed at some shared joke.

I could guess what had happened. He’d contacted her and she had come running straight away. Then they had been in bed, and he would have fucked her good and proper.

It was all over her face. She had that, “I have just been fucked” look, and she glowed. They continued to stroll toward the hotel doors. Evan lifted his gaze and caught my eye.

I slowly turned toward the doors and began to make my way outside.

Evan quickly dashed over to me. “Piper, don’t go,” he said.

“I have seen all I need to see,” I replied.

“It’s not what you think,” he said.

“She’s glowing all over her face; I’m a woman in case you have not noticed; I know that look,” I said.

  “Piper, listen.”

“Is this how it will be?” I asked. “We have an argument one day, and the next you jump in bed with a client the first chance you get?”

“You’re mistaken, you really are,” he replied.

Evan tried to grab my arm. I resisted and broke free. I turned my head, and tears fell from my eyes. I never looked back; I continued to walk from the hotel.

Keep going, don’t look back. Ever.

I could hear Evan calling to me outside the hotel. His voice grew faint as I crossed the parking lot. I had done it again, and I had come out of the situation upset. I thought he wanted to make things right with me. I’d put myself in a position where I got to see the real Evan for what he had become.

I wiped my eyes and started the car. I pulled out of the parking lot and began to drive. The hotel and Evan, just faint things in my memory.

God, I really hate everything right now. Damn you, Evan. You make my life so hard. Incredibly, ridiculously hard.

  Chapter 31

  Evan

I was at home, plagued by thoughts of Piper. Things between us were a mess. I knew that. I‘d even missed my morning gym session for the first time in over five years. No matter what had been going on in my life, I always made time for the gym. Not today.

Piper’s timing at the hotel couldn’t have been worse. Had she shown up five or ten minutes later, I would have been able to explain everything to her. She would have come to understand I had started to put things in motion.

Damn. She should have trusted me. I could understand why she didn’t believe me, and she had good reason. I had shoved the agreement in her face to make a point, like an idiot. All because I was pissed at finding that damned business card. And then, when she began to judge who I was, I just lost it with her.

Once again, I was stuck in a position where I had to repair our relationship. We were both adults, and I was sure we could put it all behind us once and for all. We just needed to talk to each other without emotions getting in the way. That was easier said than done when it came to the people we love.

I just have to speak to you, and it will all be okay.

As far as I was concerned, yesterday at the hotel, I’d done nothing wrong. I hadn’t had sex with the woman Piper saw me with. She wasn’t even a client. The woman had pestered me to take her on as a client, and I had refused. I’d said no on numerous occasions, but she persisted to the point where I had to meet her face to face. The only way she would take “no” for an answer was if I said it directly to her.

The woman didn’t understand why I refused to accept her as a client. She was a stunning natural blonde, not your typical bottle-blonde. Twenty-five years old, with sexy blue eyes. Men fell at her feet every day. She wasn’t used to having any man decline her advances. It was unheard of, especially when she was offering good money. She thought I’d found something wrong with her. Something about her look.

So, I agreed to meet with her to discuss things. I’d explained to the blonde that my schedule was currently under an exclusivity clause. I was not entertaining any new clients for the foreseeable future. She’d become slightly d
ismayed upon hearing this, but she accepted it. Not that she liked the answer.

One snippet of information that had slipped from her mouth was that she’d dated Tyler. I remembered him mentioning it at the golf course. I hadn’t paid that much attention to what he was saying. If there was anything that I would reject an application for, this was it. Because any personal involvement meant an instant goodbye.

I’d said it to heaps of women, including the blonde. I just had to keep out of it. Who knows? She could get pregnant and try to lay the blame on Tyler. In my mind, it sounded far-fetched, but it wasn’t an irrational thought. He was, after all, stinking rich. Many women would seize an opportunity to dig their claws into a wealthy man.

Dammit, Piper. Why couldn’t you just wait another five minutes?

Yesterday, I’d just walked the blonde to the hotel lobby, and Piper walked through the doors. Fuck, what kind of bad timing was that?

The blonde was telling me a funny story about Tyler, a story I’d never heard before. So we laughed together. It didn’t help that the blonde snorted like a horse when she laughed. This gave her cheeks a flushed look. By the time we exited the elevator, it looked really fucking bad. Piper had seen us together and thought the blonde had been taken by me, the infamous, fertile Baby Maker. It looked like we were having a good time together after an intimate meeting, at least, from Piper’s point of view.

It was a bad result for a day that could have ended so well. What was done, was done. I just had to put it right and try again. It was all I seemed to be doing these days, either putting my foot in my mouth or trying to make something right. If it had been anyone else, I would have given up ages ago. But Piper had always been my dream girl. We were off to a rocky start for our new beginning, but I wasn’t about to give up on us yet.

I drove to Piper’s apartment, still turning things over in my head. How could she think I could do that to her? I would never cheat on her, even though we were under contract. Then it dawned on me. Fuck, the last thing I’d said to her was if I did see other clients, that would be my choice. Then she’d seen me with the blonde. What a bombshell.
