Love At Last: A M/M Non-Shifter Romance (West Bay Chargers Book 4)

“Are you Bobby?”
“Who wants to know?”
I didn’t hold his suspicion against him. “I’m Cade. A Charger. Don’t worry. Kellen said you were a friend of his. Thought I’d stop by and see what the hell is going on.”
He looked me up and down for a second before nodding. “I’m Bobby. Come over here. We can talk in private.”
I followed him to a booth in the corner of the bar. The scene was starting to get a little louder, perfect so I knew nobody could hear what I had to say. From the serious look on Bobby’s face, he definitely had something to say.
“Kellen mentioned you were having problems with somebody trying to strongarm you.”
“That’s right,” he scoffed and leaned back in his seat as he crossed his arms. “It’s that Leon and the Demons. Bunch of punks thinking they can extort people for money.”
“So it is the Demons then?”
“You don’t mistake a man like Leon for anybody else. The guy looks like he’d sell his own mother if he could get a price for her.” He leaned in closer to me across the table. “It’s not just me. The Demons have been going around trying to pinch every business in the West Bay for protection money. Says if they don’t pay up there’ll be hell to pay.”
“You sure about that? That’s a serious allegation, Bobby.”
“I’m not gonna joke around with my business. Leon’s telling me I need protection but the only person I need protection from is him.”
I straightened up in my seat and nodded. “You don’t have to worry about that. I’ve dealt with Leon before. You’ve got the full support of the Chargers. I’ll make sure Leon won’t collect a dime—”
“I appreciate it, Cade. But I’ve already got it figured out.” He looked over to the other side of the bar where a biker gang was sitting. “They’re all the protection I need. And I don’t have to pay ‘em a dime. I’m running an honest business here. They’re not about to let some punk like Leon bully me.”
None of the gang looked familiar. But judging from the leather and the tattoos, they looked more than capable. Maybe they wouldn’t be enough to check Leon and the Demons but they for sure wouldn’t back down from him.
“I’m kinda disappointed,” I said. “I was hoping I’d get my hands dirty dealing with some Demon trash.”
Bobby finally smiled at me. “The Chargers aren’t the only crew in the West Bay looking out for everybody. We handle things for ourselves. We don’t need Snow Falls PD in this part of town. Didn’t think Kellen would actually come to offer help but I appreciate it.”
“We’re always here.”
“We’re not the only business in town. I know Leon is trying to mess with more than just us. He’s going for a monopoly. If he gets enough businesses paying him money, even with as little as they are, he’s setting his crew up real nice without actually having to do anything. Maybe you should visit some other place. Let them know you’ve got their back.”
“Yeah… Maybe I will…”
Bobby excused himself while I sat alone at the booth. As soon as he was gone, I took another look at the biker gang on the other side of the bar. They gave me an eyeful but I knew they wouldn’t try anything as long as I minded my own business.
So I just sat there. I sat there and realized I was back right where I started. “Great… Bored all over again…”
The night was only just getting started. More patrons were starting to file in. I watched the front entrance then saw a familiar face step inside.
“Brock?”
He looked just as I remembered him. His hair was combed a little more neatly on his head. Just a plain white t-shirt that showed off the tattoos on his sleeves and a pair of jeans. Nothing was out of the ordinary but he stuck out like a sore thumb.
He walked forward and started searching the crowd like he was looking for someone. I got up from my seat and walked over to him.
“Brock.”
He jerked his head in my direction when he saw me. His eyes widened with surprise.
“Cade… Hey…” He smiled but not in the kinda way you did when you were glad to see someone. No, he smiled at me like he was hiding something. I didn’t think anything of it though, more surprised than anything else.
“What are you doing here?” I said.
“Oh… I was just… looking for a place to hang out.”
“A place to hang out, huh?”
“How about you?”
“There was someone I had to talk to. Some business I had to take care of.”
“Did you take care of it?”
I looked over at the biker gang in the corner of the bar and laughed. “Someone else took care of it for me.”
“You know…” He walked up to me, a growing smirk on his lips. “This place is getting kinda crowded. What do you say we get the hell outta here? Find somewhere quieter.”
He raised his eyebrows at me. There was something wrong. I didn’t know what the hell it was but it was there. A look in his eyes. But I just chalked it up to him being surprised to see me.
“Okay.” I gave him a nod. “Let’s get outta here.”
“Great. There are a lot of places to grab a drink in this part of town. I’m sure we’ll find one.”
I followed Brock outside back into the parking lot. His bike was right off to the side and he got on it quickly. He revved his engine before I even got a chance to get to my bike.
“You in a hurry?” I said.
“Not in a hurry. Just excited.” He gave me a wink. He revved his engine again when suddenly the entrance to Bobby’s Bar boomed open.
“You! There he is!” I turned around toward the voice and saw Bobby standing there flanked by the gang I was just staring at. I never worried about the other biker clubs but when there were 10 men who looked like they wanted a piece of you, you always had to be careful. “There’s the bastard! Right there!” He pointed in my direction.
“Shit…” Brock muttered.
I stared at Bobby in confusion as he walked up to me but he just kept walking until he was right in front of Brock. Bobby kept wagging his index finger.
“This man right here! Trying to push me around! I ain’t having it!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” I put my hands up and stepped between Bobby and Brock. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“This man! He’s the one I was talking about.”
“Who? Brock?”
“Yeah, he’s the one. The Demon Leon’s got working for him. Trying to take my money from me for protection.”
“What? That can’t be…” I turned toward Brock.
I thought Bobby was just making everything up. But Brock just stared at me. He didn’t say anything. The longer he stayed silent, the more I realized Bobby was telling the truth.
“I say we send a message to Leon!” Bobby said. “Let’s rough this punk up and send him back to the Demons!”
“Yeah!” The bikers all shouted in unison and pumped their fists up.
“Whoa!” I kept my hands up, making sure to stay between Brock and the angry mob that wanted to kick his ass. “There’s no need for that.”
“No need for it?” Bobby grumbled. “The man’s a Demon. Ain’t no room for him in the West Bay! Why you protecting him?”
“I’m not protecting him. Just… Just lemme have a talk with him. I’ll make sure Leon gets the message the Demons ain’t welcome at your bar or anywhere else. No need to start a war.”
Bobby and his gang were pissed. I wondered if they’d go after me just to get to Brock.
“Don’t do this,” I said. “This Demon ain’t worth it.”
Bobby sighed a deep breath through his nose and shook his head. “Fine. But if I ever see this punk’s face again, I’m gonna rearrange it.”
The group all shuffled back into the bar. I breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to Brock. “You mind telling me what the hell is going on?”
He didn’t look at me. He just stared out into the distance. “I’ll tell you everything.”<

Chapter 10
BROCK
“When Leon, the Demons and I first showed up in Snow Falls, we figured it’d be a good chance to get a fresh start for the club. I wasn’t around back then but I know they had a history in this town before the club got ran off. We figured we’d set camp right here in the West Bay. It was a perfect fit. With so many gangs roaming the streets and no police presence, we didn’t have to worry about drawing anybody’s attention.”
Cade stayed silent as he listened to my story.
“We started with the races. Every biker in the West Bay has a ride they’re proud of. It was the perfect opportunity to host and make some easy money. Then your man put everything on the line against Leon and shut ‘em down.”
“Sparrow…”
“Leon’s a man of his word and he pulled the plug on the races. Same goes for the fights and that big red bastard who took out our best man. Ever since then, Leon and the club have been looking for other ways to make money. Best thing to do is offer protection.”
“And that’s what you were doing at Bobby’s Bar. You were doing the exact same thing when I met you at Hagen’s.”
I nodded to him.
It was hard to tell what Cade was thinking. He had no emotion on his face. He wasn’t blinking. I could hardly even tell he was breathing. He was just staring over my shoulder like there was something behind me even though there wasn’t.
I sat on his couch in the barren living room of his apartment while he sat on a chair across from me. His eyes shifted toward the view outside where the sun had just finished going down.
“I had a feeling about you,” I said. “I thought you looked familiar. I guess I was so focused on your face I didn’t bother looking at the patch on your chest. When I realized you were a Charger, you don’t know what I was thinking.”
“What were you thinking?”
“I was thinking… the only reason Leon hasn’t been able to establish anything in this town is because of you. You’ve been a thorn in his side. Everything he’s tried to do, you shut it down. Every good idea he’s come up with, you’ve put a stop to it. Now it looks like you’re putting an end to this idea, too.”
“…You’re a Demon.” He said it like he didn’t wanna admit it.
I stayed silent and let him process whatever thoughts were running through his head. He could’ve slugged me and I wouldn’t have blamed him for it. But from what little I knew about Cade, he wasn’t the type to let his emotions get the best of him.
“You were there,” he said. “It just happened. Bobby was dead set on lumping you up and sending you back to Leon bloody and bruised.”
“That wouldn’t be so bad, considering the alternative…”
He shifted his eyes toward me. “Would Leon hurt you?”
“Leon would never hurt one of his own guys. He’s more than a friend. He’s family.”
“Leon… That guy?”
“Bobby doesn’t wanna pay. That’s his decision. But once Leon gets word, he won’t be too happy about it. He’ll get the Demons to check him, one way or another.”
“You saw the kind of protection Bobby has.”
“Doesn’t matter to Leon. He’ll get his point across no matter what it takes. Even if it means starting a war with another rival gang. That’s just how he does things.”
Cade’s head dropped as he put his hands on his hips. His chest rose and fell with a deep sigh. I walked up and put a hand on his shoulder as if it would provide him some comfort but I knew it didn’t mean much.
Cade and I both knew what this meant.
I was a Demon. He was a Charger. The two groups had been going at it ever since we arrived in the West Bay.
“What would Leon think if he found out you were messing around with a Charger?”
“He doesn’t know… But I can’t imagine he’d be very happy.”
He looked up at me. In the darkness of his living room, his blue eyes seemed to shimmer more than usual. He was a handsome man. Not quite a pretty boy but not so rough-looking either. Just being around him was the perfect combination of comfort and security.
“You know nothing can ever happen between us,” he said. “It was just supposed to be a one-night stand.”
“I…” I swallowed, slightly hurt from what he said. But I knew it was the truth. “…I know.”
“That’s all this. Just two men… having some fun… satisfying our desires…”
He moved closer to me, putting his hands on my shoulders. I closed my eyes and let my face drift toward his. As soon as our lips touched, his tongue pushed forward.
All of the stress. All of the anxiety. All of the worry. Everything left my body when he wrapped his arms around me. Now all I wanted was to satisfy the craving he made burn inside of me.
I wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him closer. He squeezed his grip around the small of my back. His length throbbed in his jeans and pressed against me. I reached down and frantically unbuckled him. His zipper down, he tugged his briefs and jeans to his knees, just enough to free his length.
“Demon… Suck my cock…” He put his hands on my shoulders and forced me to my knees. I couldn’t resist even if I wanted to.
I pressed my hands on his stomach and pushed him back onto his couch then took my place between his legs. His cock was throbbing hard at this point. I stroked him and felt it twitch in my palm.
I was gasping in desperation at this point. The craving in my gut needed to be satisfied. I lowered my mouth down on him, sliding my tongue past his head and down the rest of his shaft. I proceeded to bob my head up and down, swallowing his length whole.
The only thing more satisfying than going down on another man was having him take you. I indulged myself as much as I could. I licked up and down his length. My spit dripped down my tongue and down to his base. I groaned when he filled my mouth, letting myself gag so even more of my spit could drip out of me.
His hands moved to my shoulders and squeezed. “That’s it… Suck me like that…” There was a slight tinge of anger in his voice. Or maybe it was frustration. Whatever it was, his throaty grunts sounded like he needed me to do what I was doing.
His hips started to buck as he moved his cock deeper down into my throat. A pair of hands found their way onto the back of my head as he pushed me down. He kept me on him, making me take his full length down my throat. My lips pressed against his hilt as more spit dripped out of me.
“That’s it… Just like that…”
I gagged in response. I tried desperately to breathe but couldn’t. My eyes started to water. My vision grew dark. I was on the verge of passing out. Just before I blacked out, he pulled me off of him.
My jaw dropped and a rush of air filled my lungs. I’d only taken a few breaths before he pushed me back down on him. I held on for as long as I could. He took pleasure in torturing me but I enjoyed it just the same.
He kept going until I was gasping for air.
His hands still on the back of my head, Cade pulled me close for a messy kiss. I groaned into his mouth while he peeled my shirt off of me. I worked on my jeans to take them off, freeing my own swelling cock.
We kept tugging at our clothes while our lips remained tangled together. It was only a few seconds but felt like an eternity until we were naked.
I pushed him back onto his cock until he was laying on top of it. I trailed kisses over his neck, licking over his muscled chest and his rock hard abs, until my mouth found his cock once again.
I bobbed my head up and down to make sure he was nice and hard for me.
“Ride me… Ride my cock…”
Listening to him tell me what to do made me forget about everything we were just talking about. There were no Demons. There were no Chargers. There was no task Leon had me do. Now was just about satisfying the craving burning inside my stomach so hot it was almost painful.
I crawled back up his body and gave him another kiss. I could feel his tip pressed against my entrance. My body was ca
lling out to him. His was doing the same to me. Nothing could stop us now.
Chapter 11
CADE
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kept him close. My tongue tangled with his in a messy kiss loud enough to fill my entire apartment. My hips shifted and tip hit his wet entrance. Just the warmth coming from him was enough to make me twitch.
“Ride me…” I pulled away from him so I could look into those deep brown eyes of his.
He straightened up and pressed his hands on my chest while he stared right back at me, his eyes unblinking. “You want me to ride you?”
“Yeah, that’s what I want… I want you to ride me, Demon…”
“All right… Charger… If that’s what you want…”
He lowered himself down until my tip was inside of him. All of the fluids dripping out of him made him so slick. He kept his eyes locked on me, his jaw dropping as my inches disappeared inside of him.
I couldn’t help myself. I thrust up into him. His mouth open wide in surprise and a gasp escaped a second later.
I kept my hands on his tapered waist as he slowly started to rock back and forth.
“Ride you… Just like this…”
“Just like that…”
Brock rotated his hips like he’d done it a million times before. Up and down. Slowing down so I could feel every inch of his wet warmth. He pushed and fill himself up with me then squeeze around me as he raised his ass up.
The ecstasy was agonizing. Shudders shot through my spine like electricity. My cock was throbbing so damn bad. All of the fluids dripping out of him covered the base of my shaft.
“You can do better than that…”
He looked at me like I just gave him a challenge. He squeezed his hands on my sweaty chest and leaned forward as he started to bounce his ass up and down. He took my entire length, covering me with every drop of the lubricant spilling from him.
“God…” I groaned helplessly as he moved on top of me.
Most of the time, I never got the chance to enjoy an Omega like this. Most men were submissive. Just willing to bend over for me and let me do all the work. Brock was different though. He was the kind of man who was more than willing to take control.
