Brea laughed. “I don’t think even Ribion could carry a horse.”
Gialyn gazed at her. Didn’t she know how important his horse was to him?
“I’ll pay for the stabling,” Daric said. “I’ll get that fat old thief to give me a discount. Don’t you worry about Jumper, he’ll be here when we get back.”
And so it was settled. They would all be going home. It was the first time in two months that Gialyn had stopped to think what that meant. Going home. Was Albergeddy his home? Could he call it that, now that his life had been turned upside down? It wasn’t as if he had lived there for long; he had lived most of his life in Bailryn. Still, something about the Geddy Vale called to him. Peace, freedom, new horizons; maybe it wasn’t home, but there was something there, something important.
