Purple Rain (The Rain Series Book 2)

TJWest - Must have been a very tough experience for you.
Sandy - Very much so. But things turned out great in the end (looking at Quinn, smiling)
Quinn - Love ya babe.
(They kiss)
TJWest - Quinn, has Carla been back since your time in Nevada?
Quinn - Carla had empty threats. My good buddy, Rico, keeps tabs on her. She went back to her stripping, but in a different club. Haven’t heard a single word from her, and I want it to stay that way.
TJWest - What about your mom? How are things with her? Will she be going to your wedding?
Quinn - Yeah. Things with Ma are…..good. We’re takin’ things slow, but yeah, we’ve managed to build what was broken. Ain’t easy though. Still fucked up how she left me behind, but movin’ forward. And, yeah, she’ll be at the wedding.
TJWest - Has she met Joey?
Quinn - Ma fuckin’ loves Joey. Turned her into a grandma overnight when they met. (smiling)
TJWest - I’m so glad that things are working out. How about a couple more questions for Joey?
(Sandy brings Joey back to the table)
TJWest - Thanks for joining us again, Joey.
Joey - You’re welcome!
TJWest - Tell me what you want to be when you grow up?
Joey - (clearing his throat) I want to be someone who cleans up the environment, and makes it a better place to live.
TJWest - That is certainly a huge goal. I love it.
Joey - Thanks!
TJWest - Who is your role model, Joey?
Joey - Hmmmm, Quinn and Blaine, but especially Quinn because I’ve known him longer. Oh and Mr. Red even though he’s not alive anymore.
TJWest - You were very fond of Red, weren’t you?
Joey - Yep! He was like my grandpa. He loved playing video games with me. I miss him.
(Sandy wraps her arms around Joey)
TJWest - I’m sure you do. Quinn, how does it feel knowing you are Joey’s role model.
Quinn - Best feelin’ in the world. Can’t imagine my life without him.
TJWest - I just want to thank you again for taking the time in meeting with me today. I’m so glad I got to know you and looking forward to coming to your wedding. Oh, Sandy, before I leave what are your colors for the wedding?
Sandy - Violet and Cream
TJWest - Gorgeous colors. Well, I should be on my way. (shaking their hands)
Sandy - Thanks for stopping in. See you soon.
TJWest - Bye now!
So there you have it! A happily ever after kind of story! I can’t wait to see what they are up to in the third book, “Rain Street.” They will make appearances within the new story, so stay TUNED!
Acknowledgements
First off, the character of Joey would not have happened without my real life Joey----my son! My son really does have High Functioning Autism and really is the most loveable, happiest kid I’ve ever known. He gave me so much inspiration for the character that I asked him to help me write the poem “Purple Rain” at the end of the story. I was blown away when I read it - I just had to use it. He amazes me everyday, and is a remarkable young man. Thank you, my son, for being amazing and for being my biggest fan! I love you so much!
Second, to my amazing friend, editor, Kendra Johnson, you have no idea how much your input, questions and constructive criticism have helped me get through this story.
