Too Easy

  At a hastily convened evening press conference, the Honourable Mucous Pukus MP, in a rare display of actual honour, announced a funding increase of fifty thousand dollars for a program to secure accommodation for street kids.

  I turned off the television and stuffed one of Madame Mao’s mushroom and ginger tofu dumplings — I’d grown addicted to those lately — into my mouth, and started to pack: DVD boxsets, floaty frock, wicked platforms, a lacy number.

  Brophy and I had a dirty weekend coming up.
