Chapter 1
Ava
“Are we going out tonight?” says Emma.
“We went out last night,” I say. “And I’m still feeling the effects of it.”
“Still hung over?”
“Of course. Aren’t you?”
“Of course not,” says Emma. But her bleary eyes and slouching posture tell a different story.
“Anyway,” I say. “I’ve got this new internship starting tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? It’s Friday. We should be out and about, getting down and dirty. You know the drill.”
I shrug. “The boss is supposedly some super hard ass. He makes all interns work Saturdays.”
“That sucks,” says Emma.
“Tell me about it,” I say. “I don’t know how I’m going to do an internship as well as going to class.”
“What were you thinking?” says Emma, stretching out sleepily on her bed.
I shrug my shoulders. “Who knows,” I say. “But, really, I need to do it. If I don’t, I’ll never get a job after college.”
“Chill out, dude,” says Emma, letting her eyes start to close slowly and sleepily. “You’re always so worried about a job after college. Just live it and enjoy it.”
“That’s easy for you to say,” I say. “You can just go work for your dad.”
Emma laughs. “There’s no way I’m doing that.”
Sure she’s not, I tell myself. Just wait until she graduates with that degree in literature and realizes that no one but her own father is going to hire her. After all, there are thousands of lit majors graduating every day from the best schools, and only a handful of them have jobs.
I’d like to think I’m more practical. I’m always thinking about my future. Maybe a little too much. People tell me I’m uptight. Emma’s always telling me that.
But I’ve been relaxing a little this semester. I’ve started going out more with Emma and some of the other girls on our hall. Nothing crazy. But a night here and there. I’ve found that it helps with the tension and the stress that I always feel from trying to get my work done on time.
I look over at Emma. She’s fast asleep, snoring. It’s only late afternoon. There’s no way she’s going out tonight.
Emma and I have shared this tiny little cramped dorm room since the first day of college, when we were paired together at random. At first, I didn’t think she liked me. She was so different, so much freer and more expressive than I was. But over the first couple weeks, we got to know each other during long nights chatting with each other from each of our beds, with the lights out.
Emma’s one of the reasons I feel like I’ve started to actually grow here in college. I mean, sure, my academics were already excellent, completely on point. But I was lacking a little in having fun, letting loose, letting my hair down, whatever you want to call it.
The girls on my hall no longer think I’m stuck up. Now, I’m one of them.
But it’s taking its toll.
How much longer can I continue to lead this double life, where I’m the straight A perfect student, with a coveted internship, as well as being a real girl’s girl, someone who goes out once in a while?
Sighing, I grab some textbooks from my desk as quietly as I can.
I slink out of the room to the sound of Emma’s snoring.
Glancing over the room once before leaving, I chuckle to myself. Emma’s half of the room is a complete disaster. There are books all over the place, mixed with dirty clothes and a couple of dishes. The beginning of my side marks a perfect line of cleanliness. There isn’t a single thing on the floor on my side, and my bed is neatly made. My desk is immaculately arranged. Above my desk are pictures of various female writers that I admire, as well as some leaders of business.
There isn’t anyone out in the hall, so I get outside without seeing anyone I know. There’s hardly anyone around, actually. Everyone is getting ready for Friday, the big night out. For us, it was Thursday. My head still hurts from having that third beer. I’m a classic lightweight, and am quickly learning that three is much too much for me.
The campus is pretty and somewhat empty. The trees around the quad are starting to lose some of their leaves, but the sun shines through the ones that are left gloriously.
In the library, a magnificent old building made of stone, I head deep into the stacks, to my usual desk way down in the basement. Here, I’m removed from the world, completely alone. No one can find me. This is the last refuge of students who need to seriously cram for their final exams. Me? It feels like I’m always cramming.
If I don’t get the best grades in the class, I feel like a failure, a complete waste. I just don’t know how to think any differently.
It’s quiet down here. Quiet and peaceful. No connection to the outside world whatsoever.
Except, of course, for wifi.
I open up my laptop, knowing that I should be cracking open a textbook instead.
But I’m very anxious to know more about this internship.
I should already be on top of it. But the truth is that I simply applied to every internship I could find. I sent out hundreds of applications and resumes. It took me hours and hours. But I did it.
I only got accepted to one. It’s part of a special program here in Philadelphia. They work with the college to ensure that the best student of each year finds a temporary home at their company. That’s all I know about it right now. I don’t even know the name of the company yet. It’s buried somewhere in the acceptance email I just got recently.
I pull the email up. The company is some financial company
called B&H. I’ve never heard of it before, but a quick internet search pulls up a ton of information. It’s a big mutual fund company, just like I thought. Actually, it’s the biggest one in Philadelphia. It’s run by a guy called Liam Horns. The name sounds familiar. Maybe I’ve heard of him before, but I can’t put a face to the name.
There’s a new email in my inbox.
It’s from Liam Horns.
“Welcome to B&H,” reads the first line.
Holy shit.
The actual CEO of the company is emailing me personally. And it doesn’t look like some form letter. It looks like he actually wrote it himself.
In his email, he welcomes me to the company.
And at the end, he casually mentions that I’m going to be interning directly for him this year. He’s trying something different, having his interns help him personally, rather than being stuck in a cubicle somewhere far off working on social media.
My heart is beating faster at the thought of actually working for the CEO directly. That’s a lot of responsibility. And I’ve already got a lot on my plate with school. How am I going to be able to manage this?
He sounds like he’s super strict.
Another internet search pulls up his picture, since I’m curious about what he looks like. Sometimes you can read in a person’s face whether or not they’re going to be a real hard ass or whatever.
The picture surprises me. It nearly takes my breath away.
He is not what I thought a CEO would look like.
No, not at all.
He’s completely gorgeous, with a jaw line that would put most movie stars to shame. He’s clean shaven. His eyes are a deep rich blue that seem to penetrate mine, even through the computer screen.
Shit, he’s fucking gorgeous.
And I’m going to be working closely with him.
Chapter 2
Liam
“Has that new intern got here yet?” I ask my secretary, Joan.
“Not yet, sir,” she says.
She’s standing in front of my desk, wearing a long skirt that hugs her legs tightly. Her hair is done up in a pony tail. She’s trying to look professional, but she has a tattoo that’s partially visible near her shirt collar. Whatever, I don’t care about that. Plenty of other companies turned her down because of that minor tattoo, even though she has an excellent academic background, and she’s the best secretary I’ve ever had. I don’t give a shit about tattoos and stuff like that. I just want the work to be done.
“Where the hell is she?” I say.
Joan shrugs. “You know college kids. She’s probably hung over or something.”
I sigh.
“Maybe this was a mistake,” I say. “You know she’s going to be working directly for me.”
Joan chuckles and gives me a wry grin. “Maybe it was,” she says. “You really want to be spending the next nine weeks baby sitting some college kid?”
“I thought it’d be good to have a set of fresh eyes,” I say. “Everything around here is stale. It’s the same ideas, the same people. Nothing goes forward. We need new blood.”
“Well maybe that blood doesn’t need to be 19,” says Joan, smirking.
She turns around and leaves, swishing her ass as she walks out of my door. She’s always turning heads when she walks through the office.
Me? I’m not the type to sleep with my secretary.
I get plenty of ass. I just have a policy about not hooking up with women from work. I don’t need the hassle. I like my relationships to be short and simple. No complications. No hassle. Sex, pure and simple.
I’m a sexual guy, with a monstrous sex drive.
But lately, things have been slowing down for me. Not my sex drive. That’s as high as ever. And it’s not as if the women don’t want me. They’re still practically lining up outside my door, banging on my windows. Well, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it has happened.
But so many of them… just don’t have that spark. There’s something missing, and I don’t know what it is.
“Mr. Horns?” says a nervous voice from my doorway. It’s a female voice, soft and sweet, underneath the anxiety that I can hear. She knocks ever so faintly on the open door.
“Yes?” I say, looking up.
Holy shit.
It’s the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen in my life.
She has hair hanging down to her shoulders, thick and lustrous. Her face shines with some special beauty that I can’t identify.
And her body… it’s slamming. Her curves are insane, and she’s wearing a somewhat conservative outfit in terms of how much cleavage it shows… but it’s tight in all the right places, in all the right ways.
Damn. That’s all I can think as I look at her. The way her thighs connect to her body… it’s just fucking perfect. I feel my cock starting to stiffen in my pants.
“Come in,” I say, gesturing her over to my desk.
She walks slowly, moving with trepidation.
She looks even better the closer she gets. She holds some folders to her chest, partially obscuring her glorious breasts. Even in that button down shirt, they look fantastic.
She’s young, maybe 19 or 20. I don’t know exactly. But she looks like a real woman. She’s fully developed.
“What can I do for you?” I say.
She doesn’t say anything for a moment. Instead, she goes red in the face, her cheeks flushing.
My mind flashes to filthy thoughts of me shoving my fat cock right between those rosy cheeks, with her pouty lips tightening around it…
My dick is fully hard in my pants, making a huge mound at my crotch. The feeling of my erection rushes through my body, creating that familiar yearning.
“I’m your new intern,” she says.
My new intern? Suddenly it all clicks.
She’s the one I’m going to be spending long hours with, right here at the office.
It’s right about now that I suddenly regret my policy of never hooking up with employees.
But she’s not exactly an employee, is she? She’s just an intern.
Chapter 3
Ava
I can’t believe I’m standing here in front of him. I’m so nervous that my legs are shaking. My whole body is shaking, actually. Hopefully it’s not so much that he can notice it.
If I was blown away by his picture, imagine how I must feel being here in his presence.
He’s simply gorgeous. He’s muscular, with powerful shoulders and a way of shifting his body that makes me know he has serious power behind those muscles.
His eyes are even more piercing in person.
“My new intern,” says Liam, rolling the words around in his mouth, as if he’s testing them out. “Interesting. How old are you?”
“19,” I say shyly.
“Hmm,” says Liam.
I can’t read the expression on his face.
But now it turns into a grin. A slightly wicked grin. I don’t know what to make of that.
“You’re in college, right?”
“Yes,” I say. “I go to school here in Philadelphia.”
“Good.”
I see him looking me up and down, and it makes me blush further. His eyes seem to devour my body in a way that I’m not used to.
Liam’s not at all what I was expecting. Even though I’ve already seen his picture, somehow I thought he would be older. He looked older in his picture.
I mean, he is a lot older than I am. But I’d guess he’s in his early thirties. Quite young, in the grand scheme of things, to be running a huge company like this, the biggest firm in the whole city, if not the entire state.
He moves his wrist, to study his wristwatch.
“You’re late,” he says, the smile not leaving his face.
Somehow, I sense that he’s not really castigating me.
But I get nervous anyway.
“Sorry,” I say. “I got lost. I’m not used to these huge buildings. I somehow took the elevator to the basement.”
/>
“I was ready to fire you before you even got here,” says Liam, and I’m not sure whether or not he’s joking. “But now that I’ve laid eyes on you, well…”
He doesn’t finish his sentence. Instead, he lets the words hang in the air.
“So I’ll be working directly with you?” I say.
Liam nods.
He moves in his chair, putting his feet up on his desk. I glance down and I think I see what could possibly be his erect cock in his pants, causing a huge mound there at his crotch.
But I must be imagining things. I try not to look down.
“We’re going to be spending long hours together,” he says. “I hope you can manage that while still going to school.”
I’m hoping the same thing.
But I’m too excited about spending some real time with Liam to mention my own worries.
“Of course,” I say. “I’m hoping to learn a lot from you at this internship.”
“You’re going to learn a lot all right,” says Liam, his voice barely above a growl. He looks me dead in the eyes as he says this.
Chapter 4
Liam
She spent a couple hours here, and I showed her around the office. Normally I’d send her off with one of the other employees, someone who doesn’t have anything to do. After all, I have papers to fill out, contracts to negotiate, meetings to attend, all that stuff.
But I make an exception for Ava. She’s just incredible. She had my cock hard almost the entire time. I could tell she was trying not to look at it. But I caught her peeking glances here and there.
There were times in the afternoon when we were so close to one another that I could almost feel her body vibrating. I could almost feel her breath on me. I would watch her move, her hips swinging in those tight clothes…
