Sen and Neicey- Life After Love

Page 25

by Briann Danae

“Congrats, man. Babies are a blessing.”

Neicey smiled, as she walked by him. “They truly are.”

In months, she had gone from a doubtful, broken girlfriend with more worries in the world than she knew what to do with, to a self-employed, pregnant fiancée that was overwhelmed with happiness. The favor of God was so powerful, she broke down right there in the room. When it was confirmed that she was a little over four months pregnant, she couldn’t do anything but cry. Sen wanted to cry with her, but he was too damn happy.

He vowed to stop smoking weed right there in the room, and Neicey laughed so hard; she caught the hiccups. When he thought back to how stressed Meechi and Juvie had been, he retracted his answers, saying he’d only smoke when she pissed him off. Neicey didn’t care either way. She didn’t care about anything but how happy she was. Her eyes kept scanning the hospital floor to see if someone was going to pop out and yell sike but, when they never did, she knew God had truly blessed her. Not just her, but her family as well.

“So… what’s the verdict?” Erica grinned, when they walked through the door.

“What you think that mufucka is!? We pregnant, and ya’ll better be ready to spoil my child. The way I put up with ya’ll bad ass kids, ya’ll owe me!” Sen belted out, slapping hands with Meechi.

“My nigga. Between you and Juvie, I’m about to be ducked off. Don’t even call or come by the crib. Ya’ll can just call each other,” Meechi laughed.

“I don’t need you niggas,” Sen smirked, grabbing Neicey around her waist and placing him in front of her. As touchy feely as he was, she already knew he was about to go overboard with wanting to rub her belly. But, she was going to let him. At this point, Sen could do whatever the hell he wanted, and Neicey would let him. Not on any disrespectful shit though, which he wasn’t even on.

“Can ya’ll come here for a second?” Solai called out to them, grabbing everyone’s attention.

She was now holding Suryha, and Juvie had fallen in love all over again. It was nothing like seeing the glimmer in a man’s eyes when he was in love. Solai and Suryha had his entire heart, and, though he wanted a Jr., his baby girl would do. RJ was his little partner, and now he had a girl, so his crew was complete. Unlike Meechi, he had no plans on putting another baby in Solai no time soon. Her ass was too much for him when pregnant.

“Girl, I don’t even care that you ruined my surprise wedding. She is everything,” Neicey beamed, and Suryha grinned. “And she knows it already, too.”

  “Thank you.” Solai smiled.

“Congrats. I didn’t think you’d ever be due,” Sen joked, and Neicey slapped his arm.

“Me either, but today was just too perfect not to go into labor, I guess. I called ya’ll over here to see if you could be Suryha’s god parents. Juvie and I talked about it before, but we wanted to wait and ask you once she was born.”

Neicey and Sen looked at one another at the same time. Without words, they already knew how one another were feeling. It was amazing how life worked out. Solai had no idea that Neicey was once diagnosed with not being able to reproduce, and she wanted her to be the god mother. The thought brought tears to her eyes, and she nodded her head. This day was going to have her calling Fallone as soon it was over.

“Of course, we will. You don’t even know how happy that just made me.”

“And she can get some more practice in. Hell, me too. RJ’s little ass is bad. Him, Daiya, and Lil Meechi. Something for sho’ gotta be in the water,” Sen agreed and pulled Neicey into his side.

“Alright, cool. Ya’ll agreed, so this how this gone work. Me and Solai need two weekends out of the month to be free. I don’t too much care which ones, so ya’ll can handle that. But, yeah… so, we appreciate ya’ll in advance,” Juvie said, sticking his hand out, so they could shake on the deal.

Neicey slapped his hand away. “I see now I’m going to have to only deal with Solai to get my god-daughter. You are too much,” she laughed.

“Thank you. Though you may not know it Neicey, you’ve taught me a lot over the years that I’ve known you. The lessons may have not come at the time I wanted to hear them, but you stayed dropping gems,” Solai praised, sprinkling black girl positivity throughout the room.

“Yasss,” Anika said, snapping her fingers. “You better let her know!”

Laughing, Neicey took their compliments to heart and it swelled with elation. Though Aunyae was deemed the mother of the crew, Neicey had played her fair role in dropping knowledge on them. Every conversation she wanted them to leave it with more growth and inspiration than the last. She didn’t talk just to talk, and somewhere in those affirmations, she was speaking life over and into herself.

Neicey walked out of the room to get some air, and Sen followed right behind her. He didn’t know what he was feeling, but he wanted to kiss and hug all over Neicey until she couldn’t stand it.

“Bae, today was crazy,” he laughed, as they sat down in the waiting area. “I can’t believe you pregnant, though. That beats all of today’s wins. What you think?”

Neicey smiled and let out a yawn. Pregnancy was already about to put her down. Though she was carrying, she was fit and would still be able to choreograph for her new position. That was only if her body allowed her too. She’d place the opportunity on hold quick, for her child. Her miracle child. She smiled at the thought. God had really been looking out.

“It does. How do you feel about everything?” she asked, admiring the rock on her hand.

Grabbing it, Sen made her stand and sit on his lap. Nestling his face in the crook of her neck, Neicey squirmed when he kissed it. She couldn’t wait to get home and fuck the shit out of him. The entire time he was down on one knee, all she could think about was if the sex would be different now that they were engaged. Erica told her once she and Meechi were engaged, he turned up on her ass. But, married sex? Erica was sure she was pregnant by now. Meechi hadn’t let her ass get a wink of sleep since they wed. But, she wasn’t complaining.

“I feel like the luckiest nigga in the world. Everybody doesn’t get a second chance at love, shit life. But, we did. I don’t know if you ever thought about leaving or putting me out again, but that shit ain’t happening no more,” he said, looking her dead in the face.

“But I didn’t put you out the first time. We had this conversation,” she laughed.

“And you keep lying. It’s all good though; you lucky I love you, and one white lie not gone hurt me. No more secrets though, alright? Then, I’d have to really go missing. And you carrying my seed?”

Neicey laughed and grabbed his face. “Stop. That’s why you be tripping now. Crazy ass. Ain’t nobody gone leave you. We stuck together foreva,” she said, animating her words, but meant them. “I love you, Sensay Giordano, with your fine ass.”

Smirking, he placed his hands on her belly and kissed her lips. “After all we been through, you ain’t got no choice. Let’s go say bye, so we can go home and fuck. I ain’t busted a nut all day.”

He popped her on the ass as she stood up, and she slapped his arm. “Your mouth is horrible.”

“You don’t be saying that shit when you sit on it,” he whispered in her ear from behind.

Neicey could only mumble her reply because he was dead right. As damaged as they were, love and life had a tricky way of bringing the best out of them. Completely handing your heart over to someone isn’t that bad, Neicey thought as they walked down the hall. And, it wasn’t. As long as the other person did the same, their lives would reap the benefits. In Sen and Neicey’s case, an abundance of them.

  The End!
