“I didn’t want you to worry,” she answered, covering his hand with hers.
“They told me you were much changed,” he said. “I feared you were ill. I never expected a youngling,” he said as he reverently caressed her distended abdomen.
“I’m not sure, but, I think it’s two younglings in there,” Ada Jane said, laughing.
“Two?!” Kol said on a shout.
“Yes. Two. The doctor at the base says he hears two heartbeats,” Ada Jane said, smiling down at Kol.
Kol looked up at his mate, then back down at her belly as he placed his other hand beside the first. “I will be a father,” he said, looking up at her.
“You are a father,” Ada Jane corrected.
Both the dogs bounded over to them, attacking them with kisses and wagging tails.
“What are these?” he asked, getting to his feet and laughing as they continued trying to get his and Ada Jane’s attention.
“They are our furbabies. Billy and Bob,” Ada Jane said smiling, while wiping the happy tears that had stained her cheeks.
“Which is which,” Kol asked, smiling.
“Billy has two black ears, Bob has one black and one white ear. But if you just say, “Come on, Billy Bob!” They both come.”
“They are not much protection,” Kol said, pulling his mate to him and hugging her to his chest again as he ran his hands over her head and back, simply touching her and burying his nose in her hair, inhaling her scent.
“They sleep with your shirt and I’ve made sure they know your scent,” she said, holding him back closing her eyes as she pressed her face to his chest.
“Ah, that explains it,” he conceded.
“Ada Jane?” he asked.
“Yes,” she answered, still holding him as tightly as he held her.
“I need you,” he said.
Ada loosened her arms from around his waist and leaned back to look at him, a slight smile on her face.
“Is it okay?” he asked.
“What do you mean?” she asked him, completely confused. “Of course it’s okay. I am yours, just like I always was,” she answered.
“And I am yours,” Kol answered, pressing his lips to hers again. “But, I meant with the younglings…”
“Oh!”
“I know nothing of a female when she carries younglings,” he admitted.
Ada Jane smiled up at Kol as she cupped his jaw in her hand. “It’s perfectly safe,” she promised.
A fire filled Kol’s eyes and he swept her up into his arms. “Kol!” she shouted. “I’m huge! You'll hurt yourself!”
“You are beautiful, and you weigh nothing at all,” he responded.
“You’re carrying three of us, now!” she said, laughingly.
“My world, every one of you, necessary to my very existence,” he said as he strode confidently toward their home.
“I probably need a bath first. I’ve been outside sweating,” she said.
Kol laughed and dropped a kiss on her forehead as he carried her through their front door. “Then I shall bathe you first, then I’m going to worship every inch of you for at least the next week. When we can no longer move, we will rest, then begin all over again.”
“I’m so happy you’re home, Kol,” Ada Jane whispered, laying her head on his shoulder as he walked.
“I cannot ever leave you again, my Ada Jane. It almost killed me. I will never accept being apart from you again,” he promised.
“Me, too. Many nights I wondered if I’d survive. I thought this land was all I needed to finally be home again. I was wrong, Kol. You. All I needed to be home was you. You are my home.”
Kol placed her on her feet in their bathroom and looked down into her eyes. “You are my life, Ada Jane. All I will ever need is right here. I am home because of you, too. I love you, my Ehlealah.”
“I love you, too, Kol. Welcome home, my love.”
The end, for now.

About the Author
My name is Sandra R Neeley. I write Paranormal, SciFi, and Fantasy Romances. Why, you may ask? Because normal is highly overrated. I’m 56, I have two kids, one 34 and one 14(yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband and a menagerie of animals. I love to cook, and was a voracious reader, though since I started writing, I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I’m a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I’m a self-published author and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I tend to follow my muse — the louder the voice, the greater the chance that voice’s story is next.
I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please read the warnings supplied with each of the synopsis about my books before you buy them. I’ve got four series published at this time, Avaleigh’s Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - SciFi Romance, and Riley’s Pride - PNR, a couple of standalone novels, several short stories, and much, much more to come. I’m always glad to hear from my readers, so feel free to look me up and say hello.
