by Joan Jonker

‘I’m not letting a fifteen-year-old boy get the better of me this time, my Delectable, Delightful, Darling Dorothy. I’m going to kiss you right now, even if we are in the middle of Moss Lane.’

Katy looked over Billy’s shoulder to see her mother wrapped in John’s arms and being kissed. Not a friendly kiss, like he used to give her, but a real lovers’ kiss. ‘Come on, Billy, let’s go. I want to get home before our Colin goes to bed, ’cos me mam’s got a surprise present for him.’
