Both men chuckled. Tait released her. When some of his hair ended up caught in her fingers, she gasped.

“Oh, Tait. I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to pull your hair out!”

He kissed her until her head spun then smiled.

“You can pull my hair out anytime after watching you orgasm like that. You were in another world.”

“But you didn’t get any relief!”

“No, but I will. Turn around.” Grinning, he put on a condom.

When she was up on her hands and knees, he grasped her hips, pulling her back as he entered her from behind, thrusting deeply. Still sensitive from her recent climax, Jada cried out, her hips jerking.

While Tait began to move in and out of her, Mike kissed her, his tongue seeking hers as she moaned into his mouth. His hands cupped her breasts, fingers and thumbs pinching her nipples.

When Jada took hold of Mike’s hair gripping it in a firm grasp, he winced. She heard Tait’s muffled chuckle as she floated on a cloud of ecstasy. His lips caressed her neck as he held her hips firmly in place, thrusting harder now.

Pulling her mouth away from Mike’s, Jada let out a shriek that sounded like a wildcat’s cry. Her hips began to jerk violently as she once again found blissful relief, leaving Tait behind. He blew out a deep breath as though struggling for control.

Jada had no idea her body was so sensitive. When her channel spasms finally finished he increased the pace, moving faster and faster.

“Come with me, sweetheart. Come with me,” he murmured in her ear.

  “I don’t know…if I can…go again.” Barely able to talk, she panted.

  “Yes, you can.”

Mike reached down and found her nub, stroking it quickly to bring her to peak faster.

Her fingers grasped Mike’s hair in a vice grip as she dropped her head forehead onto his shoulder and screamed. Together she and Tait fell over the precipice while Mike held onto her hand to keep his hair intact.

Suddenly Jada began to cry and both men froze.

“Did I hurt you, Jada?” Tait asked. He pulled out of her quickly and laid her on her back.

“What’s wrong?” Mike questioned in alarm. Brushing the hair out of her eyes, he began wiping her tears away.

It took her a few minutes before she could talk. When she did her words were punctuated with tiny hiccups.

“I’m fine…not hurt…I’ve never been so fine.” Looking up at Tait, she put her hand on his cheek then did the same with Mike. “That was the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had. You two are wonderful.” Tears started up again.

“Well, why are you crying then?” Mike asked.

With a wet chuckle, she said, “Girls cry for good reasons as well as bad you know.”

Shaking his head, Mike stared at her.

“Well we do. I’ve never felt so…free before.” Though she thought it was an inadequate description, it was the only thing she could come up with. “Just accept that I’m okay. I’m so great that my head is spinning.”

“Are you going to cry every time we make love to you?” Tait asked. He appeared apprehensive.

Laughing, Jada shook her head. “I can’t promise it won’t happen again, but it won’t happen every time. Relax, boys, it’s a good thing!”

Eyebrow raised, Mike nodded. “All right, if you say so, Jada. We’d better raid the fridge and feed her, Tait. She might need her energy for the next few hours if she’s going to spend it crying!”

Chuckling, Tait leaned over and kissed her.

“I think we’d better feed her or Esmeralda will be angry with us. I’ll take care of our girl while you get the food.”

“Sure, give me the easy job!” Snickering, Mike left them.

“Are you sure you’re all right, Jada?” Tait asked dropping a tender kiss on her lips.

Too tired to wonder who Esmeralda was, she nodded, smiling. “I’ve never been better in my life. I could use a few more kisses though.”

Grinning, Tait cupped her cheek in his hand.

“I think I can help you with that.” He lowered his head to oblige.

  Chapter Five

  Reason for Being Here

After making love in many different ways for the rest of the day the trio were finally able to think of something other than sex. Jada stood at the patio window looking out at the sunset over the valley and mountains wistfully. She knew the men watched her every move, not because they feared her running, but because they’d told her that she fascinated them. She could feel their eyes on her back now.

“How would you like to go to Coco Beach with us tomorrow, Jada?” Tait asked.

  She didn’t turn around.

“Sure.” Her voice was soft, uninterested.

Silence reigned for a moment behind her.

  “What’s wrong?” Mike asked.

“Oh, nothing.” With her fingernail she traced the path of the sun on the window.

  “Are you angry with us?”

“No, Tait, I’m not angry.” Sighing, Jada turned and leaned her back against the glass door. “I was just wondering if I’d get to see the real Costa Rica, not just the tourist spots.”

“Sure, if you want to. You may not like what you see though. There’s a lot of poverty. They don’t have the technology that we have in Canada,” he said.

“You know, I grew up with nothing but technology and now that I’ve had a small glimpse of this country, I see what I’ve been missing. I used to think diesel fumes smelled good. When I walked out of that airport and smelled the fresh air with the flower’s scents and saw the amazing colors all around me, I couldn’t believe what I’ve been missing all my life. I don’t know if I can go back to my world and be the same person, see it in the same way again.”

“You haven’t even been out sightseeing yet. Wait until your two weeks are up before you start getting all philosophical about it. Why don’t we just try and enjoy ourselves, okay?” Tait said quietly. He walked over to her and tilted her chin up with his finger. Warm, full lips brushed lightly over hers sending shudders of excitement through her.

“Okay. I’ll do my best.” Smiling, Jada threw her arms around Tait’s chest and gave him a hug.

“How about some dinner?” Mike asked standing up.

“What’s for eats?” Jada turned to him and took his hand, following him out of the bedroom. They were all still naked, having just finished showering again.

“I’ll take you to Esmeralda’s kitchen and we can see what she’s left us today.”

  “Who is Esmeralda?”

“She’s our maid, cook, and caretaker.”

“You mean she was here?” Stopping dead in her tracks with her hand over her mouth, Jada stared at Mike in horror.

“Sure she was. She’s here every day at noon.”

“Oh, my God, she must have heard me! I’m mortified. She must think I’m such a sl—”

  “Don’t!” Both men yelled.

“Don’t say that word. Don’t even think it. Esmeralda judges no one. And you are our guest, nothing more. What we do behind that bedroom door is our business. Don’t you dare belittle yourself,” Tait yelled.

It was the first time she’d seen him angry. His eyes flashed fire, his nostrils flared and his lips were white, they were pulled so taut. He even seemed taller somehow. Jada stepped back a bit, taking comfort in the security of Mike’s strong arms which encircled her.

Leaning down close to her ear Mike murmured loud enough for Tait to hear, “Don’t mind him. He’s rather protective of you for some reason. Let’s move on to the kitchen and let him cool down.” He turned with her and left Tait standing in the hall staring after them. Though she looked over her shoulder seconds later, Tait had disappeared.

While Mike served out two dishes of chili and burritos, Jada sat at the table, her knees drawn up tight to her chest. Tears filled her eyes, though she tried hard not to let Mike see them. He placed her plate in front of her and sat down beside her.

  “Tait will be
fine. He can’t stand it when a woman calls herself horrible names like the one you almost did. Just because there are three of us in this relationship, doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong, not at all.”

“Relationship? It’s supposed to be just two straight weeks of sex. I expected nothing more and I don’t expect that Tait, or even you, will want to see me when we’re done. I know I’m just going back to work and to my apartment to watch videos. This was the chance of a lifetime and I’m glad I took it.” Avoiding his gaze she poked at the food with her fork.

Cupping her cheeks between his palms, Mike made her look into his eyes.

“No tears now. You’re here with us to have fun and pleasure. Please don’t cry.”

“I’m not crying,” she said through a hiccup. A lone tear trailed down her cheek.

Mike kissed it away then took her lips in his, doing his best to distract her.

When they heard Tait enter the room behind them they broke it off, feeling guilty for some reason. Tait filled his plate in silence then sat down across from them.

“Oh, I forgot the wine. Hang on, I’ll be right back,” Mike said, leaving the room.

Jada’s eyes followed him with a touch of fear at being left alone with Tait.

The couple played with their food in silence until Mike came back carrying three wine glasses and a large bottle of white wine. He poured them each a glass. Jada hadn’t found a resolution to their spat.

Sighing Mike sat down and held up his glass.

“Let’s have a toast! Here’s to two weeks of bliss with the most beautiful woman in Costa Rica.”

“And who would that be?” Jada muttered, looking up at them.

Dropping his forehead into his palm, Tait let out a low growl. Before he could stand up to leave the room, Mike’s hand on his arm stopped him. When he looked up Mike shook his head.

“Jada, that was a compliment directed at you. Doesn’t anyone ever tell you you’re beautiful?” Mike asked.

  Snorting, she shook her head.

“You’re kidding me, right? Who would tell me? The fifty or so men in suits that think I’m invisible at work? Big Al in the porn shop? Strangers on the street? I lead a solitary life. My mom died last year, my dad left us when I was a kid and I don’t do anything else with my life. No, I don’t think I’m beautiful. I think that I have ugly freckles, unruly hair, and my boobs are way too big for my clothing. No, I’m far from it. I still can’t figure out why I’m here. There are so many other women out there you could have picked.”

It was Jada’s turn to try and leave the table but once again it was Mike’s hand that stopped her.

  “Stay, please.”

“Do you want to know why I picked you? Why we picked you?” Tait asked in a tight voice.

“Yes, yes I do,” she said. Tears threatened as her lower lip trembled.

“For the six months that you and I conversed on the Internet I got to know you as a warm hearted, fun loving, happy and kind person. Your beauty comes from within, Miss McKenzie. When I did a profile on you and saw your cute little upturned nose and adorable freckles I fell head–over–heels for you. I wanted you so badly I could barely stand it. I studied you for months making sure that you were the right one to bring here. And I wasn’t wrong, not by a long shot. Not only are you all those things but you have a passion that outshines any woman that I’ve ever met. That’s why I picked…why we picked you. Mike was just as crazy about you. Weren’t you, Mike?” Tait said passionately. As if he’d suddenly realized he’d given away too much, he fell silent and scooped up a forkful of chili.

“Can’t keep my hands off you, minx. Now, eat your dinner or Esmeralda will be insulted.”

Swallowing hard, Jada ducked her head and began eating, not knowing what else to say. Without looking at either man she took big sips of her wine, trying to steady her nerves. She had a lot to think about. A part of her didn’t believe Tait, but then another part was desperate to. When her glass was empty she placed it in front of Mike, hoping he’d refill it without question. When he did, she breathed a sigh of relief. As soon as dinner was done, she started collecting dishes to take to the sink.

Mike put his hand on her arm.

“We’ll take care of this. Why don’t you go find three towels and we’ll take a swim in the pool?”

Biting her lower lip she nodded and quickly left the room.

Mike took Jada out to the side patio where a large pool sat in the darkness. He flicked a few switches and the entire area was flooded with light. Even deep inside the pool colored lights shone brightly, filling every corner.

“It seems a waste of electricity, all these lights,” Jada said.

“We need them. There are poisonous snakes in Costa Rica. Some of them are water snakes. The lights let us watch for them and will also scare them off.”

“Is he going to stay mad at me for long?” she whispered, keeping her head down.

“He’s standing on the balcony looking down at us, so let’s make it look good and have some fun. We’ll make him jealous,” he murmured in her ear, hugging her close.

“Do you see any snakes in the water, Mike?” Raising her voice a notch, she tried to sound cheerful.

“No. Would you like to dive in, or do it the chicken’s way and wade slowly?”

Suddenly she looked up and gave him a bright smile.

“I’m no chicken! Race you!” she cried, running for the ladder.

She knew Mike let her win and pretended to pull her down while letting her escape. Her musical laughter filled the night air as she climbed to the top of the ten–foot high diving board then looked down at him.

“That just goes to show you that women are much superior to men. You’re down there where you belong and I’m up on my pedestal!”

Lunging at her with a growl, he laughed when she shrieked and dove into the warm water. She did her best to ignore Tait and force him to get over his anger.

When Jada broke the surface, she looked around but didn’t see Mike. She was just about to call out to him when something grabbed her ankle and she was pulled under, mid scream. She started fighting but Mike pulled her into a kiss underwater and Jada, being locked in his arms, kissed him back. They broke the surface laughing together.

When Jada looked up at the balcony it was empty. She felt a pang in her heart, feeling like she’d just betrayed Tait.

“He’ll be fine. Just give him some time,” Mike said quietly.

“Has he ever acted like this with any of your other…um…”

  “Gal–pals?”

Avoiding his eyes, she mumbled, “Nice word for it.”

“Jada!” he warned. “No, he’s never acted like this with any of our women. Ever! I think he really likes you and that’s new for him. He’s never been serious about anyone before. Now, are you going to play with me, or do we have to go back to that stuffy bedroom?”

Jada gave him a pointed stare him until he laughed.

“Okay, stuffy bedroom it is. Let’s go.”

“You’re so sweet. Thank you for understanding.”

Kissing her with a quick peck, he grinned. “Don’t let things like that get around! Remember me? I’m the big, bad cop!”

Giggling, Jada climbed out of the pool, screaming when Mike’s strong hands about her waist gave her an unexpected boost.

“There goes the neighborhood!” he teased.

“From what I can see, you have no neighbors.”

“True, but it’s still our neighborhood!”

“You’re such a crazy man! Get out of that pool now! Oh, is that a snake?” she cried.

Mike was out in seconds. Giggling, Jada raced for the towels.

“Sweetheart, don’t even jest about that. I’m serious! I nearly lost ten years off my life.”

Losing all of her playfulness, Jada stopped cold.

“I’m sorry, Mike. I wasn’t thinking how real a danger it could be. I won’t do it again.”

“You bet you won’t. Now g
ive me a towel!” When she handed one over, Mike immediately spun the end into a tight swirl and flicked it at her.

With a squeal, she ran off down the hall heading for the bedroom. She was relieved that he didn’t catch up to her. When she arrived at the bedroom door, she paused, making sure she was dry. Taking a deep, steadying breath, she opened it and stepped inside. Tait was standing by the patio doors, watching the stars.

Gnawing on her lip, she hesitated, uncertain of her welcome.

  “Hi.”

“Hi,” he said quietly, not turning around.

“Why didn’t you come and swim with us?”

  “I didn’t feel like it.”

Walking slowly up to him, she took his hand.

“Listen, Tait, I’m sorry about earlier. Please don’t be angry with me.”

  “I’m not mad at you.”

“Come over to the bed with me,” she said. She tugged at his hand gently.

Sighing, he turned and followed her, lying down beside her.

  “Who are you mad at?”

“I’m not sure,” he said, running his fingers through his silky black hair.

Leaning forward, Jada kissed him gently. She placed her palm on his cheek and studied his eyes.

“You scared me when you were angry at me. I’ve never had anyone look at me like that before.”

Tait pulled her close, resting his forehead between her breasts.

“I’m sorry, Jada. I admit that I have a bad temper, but I’d never harm you, I promise.”

“I think I already know that, Tait.” Her fingers threaded through the strands of his hair, making him moan.

Suddenly his lips were on her breasts as he pushed her down on the bed. She wanted, needed him to be deep inside her. Whimpering, she reached over to the bedside table and pulled out a condom, tearing the packet in her haste to help him put it on. Without waiting, he thrust deep inside her with a ferocious passion unleashed.

Reacting as though lightning flashed through her body, Jada cried out, his cock filling her sheath until she thought she’d go mad with want as the riotous sensations tore through her.

His lips met hers, their tongues mating in a fiery dance. Tait’s hand caressed her aching breast, his fingers pinching her nipple until she moaned. He captured each of her cries with his mouth as he plunged and thrust until she thought he couldn’t get any deeper into her hot sheath.
