"Is it twins?" I asked.
She smiled. "It's early, but this is pretty unmistakable," she said.
I rested my head on the back of the chair and turned to stare at Owen again. It was unbelievable, but I instantly felt overjoyed at the thought of having two of his babies inside of me. He was my handsome prince, and I hoped they both came out looking just like him.
"We're having a baby, Owen." I said it because that was the whole point of the surprise ultrasound and the phrase I was planning on saying to him in the first place.
He gave me an irresistible grin and lifted his eyebrows. "Two," he said.
I smiled and shrugged. "I guess this was a surprise for us both."
He leaned over and kissed me on the cheek, and I stretched upward, letting him know I wanted him to do it again, only this time on my lips.
Neither of us cared that the nurse was in the room. We smiled at each other before our mouths met.
"I love you, my little gypsy," he whispered after he kissed me.
I held onto his shirt, pulling him close so he would do it one more time. "I love you more," I said.
