Seducing Beauty Page 6

Perfectly. I couldn't help but give Wolf free rein. Let him wallow in her scent. Feed from her Well until she screamed and jack-knifed up to hold my head against her clit while Wolf sucked an orgasm out of her through that succulent little knot.

Head thrown back, propped up on one arm, pussy jerking against my teeth, she clutched my head for dear life and groaned before her body collapsed backward onto the mattress.

What a feat. Wind tamed by Wolf. At least for the moment.

Mine, Wolf growled, his hard-on pulsing to the point of explosion.

Plant your seed now. I walked my hairy palms along her body until I laid my length against her nonresistant flesh and pinned her down with her knees spread like butterfly wings.

  That sweet body trembled.

Like I'd used stick pins to tack her wings in a crucifix position. Willow being the sacrifice to Wolf.

She extended her graceful arms, reaching for me, tilting her pale-blue gaze up to lock with mine. "Boa," she managed to whisper.

What I'd waited a week to see. I locked the head of my aching cock into the damp notch between her splayed legs.

  The path to the Well.

Wolf's chest quivered against her quaking ribcage.

Drooling. Licking his jaws. Contemplating the metallic tinge of her salty blood. Ready. So ready to dip into the Well of Immortality. To plant seed.

But you can't bite her yet, Wolf.

Can't risk Croc discovering our rendezvous and commitment. Until Tornado has time to think of the best solution. Hopefully through a discussion with the other Elders. A discussion that will gain all of the clans' support so I can make the announcement to Croc before this meeting ends and the clans disperse to return home and begin autumn preparations for winter.

  Comprendes?

  Wolf shook with realization.

With so much determination that only a fool would continue to dance with Willow. To hold the wind. But her soft skin. Her warmth. Her willingness. The begging. She wanted Wolf to dip into the Well. Leave his seed. To immortalize our bonding through creating a child. How can I hold Wolf back?

The almost non-existent touch of her hands slid around my ribs and glided down my back to mold those searing palms and hungry fingers to my ass like form-fitting rebar.

  Steel. An iron trap.

Wolf tried to shove his cock forward.

"What are you waiting for?" Willow groaned and pulled with all her might.

Yanking my ass to where the sensitive head of my cock slid an inch into the tight hot vise of her hole.

  Must get control of Wolf.

Mine, Wolf growled and slammed his engorged member inside her.

Wedging her open by shimmying his hips until he'd seated himself to the root. Quite a feat with one forward motion as engorged as a Wolf cock gets.

She rocked her head back into the crumpled sheet, her white hair a cloudy mass flowing around her head and shoulders, her mouth gaping. Any words she attempted to utter died.

As if stolen by the wind. She was so beautiful nude, pink pearled nipples crowning the bulges of her breasts, pushed up by her arms in her desperation to grip my ass into position. I just needed to ride her, fuck her slick channel, give into Wolf. Ram back into the wet velvet heat of her soul that made her toss her head from one side to the other in a desperate attempt to lure his seed from him. To trap him as I dared to grasp the wind. To offer herself to his fangs.

Every ounce of my being tightened around my waist, surged toward my cock. Threatened to burst into her.

  Mark, Wolf snarled.

Not yet. Can't endanger her. Couldn't drive back his stinging teeth where they'd torn through the flesh of my gums. Not when she had to sleep in her Gods-be-damned sire's lodge tonight. But Wolf pulled his stiff shaft back from the Well.

Along her squeezing channel. The the edge of temptation where her hungry hole sucked him mindless. Shit.

  ****

Dear. Gods. The tiny bundle of nerves Boa strummed deep inside me kept me squirming and gasping for breath, wanting nothing but our bodies to fuse together where our groins locked as one. A wave of all-consuming need threatened to pound my cells harder than his hips. If he didn't make the wall of need looming over me crash and dissipate, or drown me, I'd never be able to crawl from this bed. I groaned and pushed my hips against the firm motion of his rocking groin.

The sound only made my Guardian pump his engorged rod into my tender flesh even faster.

Drive that ridged shaft like a manmade engine part until nothing but my fragile organic tissue tearing into a thousand pieces would right the world. But for that blessed moment of fulfillment…Just to feel perfect with him inside me. To have him clip the wave of inescapable need. To burst the pressure. To make me shudder on the spit of his flinching member.

Skewered. Oh yes. Prepped for dinner. To be devoured by Wolf. Gnawed upon. Bitten. Undeniably the object of his inescapable possession.

The tickle deep inside my womb strengthened until I jerked uncontrollable, skewered, and dug my fingernails into the pliant flesh of his shoulders laced with wiry Wolfen hairs, crying indefinable syllables.

He repositioned a knee just so, locking my pelvis at a particular angle, and fiddled the secret spot's location known only to him.

  Oh. Gods.

The looming wave of suffocating need buried me.

Every little cell in my body palpitated.

Humming. Vibrating with each of his cock's jolting bursts of liquid heat. I grabbed at the wiry hairs on his shoulders, digging into his skin with my fingernails.

His seed. United us with the risk of pregnancy. Pregnancy, the one scent I couldn't hide from my sire. A Shifter's nose could read a woman's fertility, child, sister, or lover. But what did that matter? Boa would mark me. Had to. Wolf wouldn't allow him another delay the way his grated fangs sparkled overhead.

He's so deeply lost in shape-shifting. His human face still visible but surrounded by Wolfen hairs.

Boa threw his head back like Wolf's snout would protrude and pushed up as far as possible on his arms.

Curling his chest away from the heaving mounds of my breasts as his hips sawed back and forth into my trembling channel where the hard Wolfen ridges on his cock scraped, wouldn't allow my orgasm to fade.

But his fully-furred body seemed to lose its battle as its efforts died with shorter and shorter jerking motions.

Milking his seed into my Well.

So damned amazing. If only I could move my hips with the sawing motion of his.

And him unable to hide his fangs. Unable to control what would happen next. The bite. Gods, his weight and drag of his scraping shaft felt so good. The bite would too.

His hips stilled in one final shove of glorious pressure and he growled a sound of throaty satisfaction, shoving my groin toward my navel.

Frozen in one final hopeless thrust that had to make his ass the tautest muscle on the planet. Like a bronzed statue's ass paying homage to the altar of my body. I slid my palms under his furry arms, around his hairy ribs, down the hard length of his shaggy back, to the steely mounds of his strangely-bald buttocks.

Oh to parade them before all Death Summit's women. To brag while the others dreamed of squeezing my Shifter's ass. That's where I'd bite him if it'd make a difference.

He turned his head until his golden gaze locked onto mine. "There is nothing like mating with you."

The wild edge to his Wolf-tainted voice hinted Wolf would strike like a snake. Claim me. "You have no idea."

  He gurgled a warning.

One that cautioned me to mark my words. But I wanted the mark and refused to allow him to get away this time. "Gods, Boa, I can't think of anything but lying here beneath you with you between my legs for the rest of my life."

His warning ripped into a roaring growl.

  Just what I wanted. Completion.

His warm mass leapt from me.

Leaving the bed squeaking. Shaking. And cold rushed in, circling my naked form.<

He tore the two-by-four from the door, ripped the door from its hinges, and disappeared into day's bright light.

Gone. Where in the hell is he going?

  Chapter Five

Where in the hell had Boa gone and why hadn't he marked me? After the standoff between Croc and Boa in Tornado's meeting lodge, Boa must be using me to get to Father. Probably wanting to impregnate me. The perfect revenge. And I'd let him. How? I'm stupid. Stupid! He's been seducing me all these years. Lied to me about his sire's accepting nature. Drawing me into the web of his plan to avenge his clan. And he even resorted to dragging Ginny into this farce of clan games.

Duped. I am a fool. Lying here for all to see, nude on his bed. The bastard. Before anything else happens, I need to scrub off his Bitterroot scent and tuck my tail back into my own bed. I hopped to my feet, yanked on my clothes, laid the flower pendant and chain on his bedding, and headed for the bathing pool with his soap in hand.

  Strike me like his namesake?

  Right. Boas don't bite.

  ****

Boa stood beside his tousled bedding holding the necklace, his heart frozen. Gone. She wasn't in my bed. Nor did Wolf smell her nearby. But the wind couldn't have blown off to haunt grassier meadows. Not after the way we'd mated. Something is wrong.

Mine, Wolf whined and clawed at my ribcage.

We'll find her. She probably had to hide from her volatile sire.

Why did she leave the gift though?

  Bite!

I need to run. Race off Wolf's need to bite. Protect her from her sire. But maybe I'd stayed away too long. I shouldn't have forced Wolf to roll in dirt and swim before returning. But her smell was all over him. Rooted in his nostrils. Driving him insane.

Still, Croc could have discovered her. Not likely though. The whole camp would be on alert after one of Croc's tantrums. And I'd have been pulled into one Gods-be-damned nasty discussion with the Elders. But nothing seemed out of the ordinary in the quiet day. Something else lays behind Willow leaving the necklace behind.

What? For now, I just have to find her. I propped the heavy door's planking back up in the doorframe and drew Wolf into my eyes and ears for action.

The early July cicadas rattled out their buzzing songs.

The sun would set soon. But the male cicadas couldn't wait to call out to potential mates, masking most sounds a person could hear in the daytime. Foolish males. We're everywhere. Nature has a truly wicked sense of humor. So, where has Willow gone? I hurried on, stepping around the farthest end of the Shifter lodge ring structure.

Alone. Without my mate. On the hunt without a way to play a song to call her even if I wanted to. Must be nice to be an insect. The aliens didn't even give us something as simple as a way to entice our mates to us. No. We're altered into enormous terrifying monsters. Luckily, females find the strength of our altered physical morphology appealing.

Deepening sunlight danced upon the metal scaffolding on both sides of the gate as well as the somewhat-painted metal of the six tanks in the outpost's courtyard.

The door to the meeting lodge creaked open, spitting my bald brother Fox and Scorpion, the son of the Utah clan's lead Shifter Eclipse, into the cool night air with the amber glow of the fire's light.

Fox anchored a gaze upon me as the door snapped shut at his elbow. "Tornado has sent me searching for you. We're supposed to go hunting."

Curse of curses. How in the hell can I find Willow with Tornado nagging the shit out of me?

  Find Mine, Wolf snapped.

There are too Gods-be-damned many Elders afoot. But Scorpion witnessed all of this. I have to act like a clan head. "Why go hunting? It's almost sunset." Bounders would ruin the hunt after nightfall.

Fox shrugged. His grim straight-lipped scowl couldn't be missed in the darkness. "And all the Elders are meeting up now. So, we'll be ready for you when the meeting ends."

Obviously. I'd be busy all night. So this is the way of clan leaders. I guess I should get used to the inconveniences associated with maintaining group order. I shoved the warm fine links of chain into my hip pocket and plowed into the amber firelight of the meeting lodge's dark smoke-filled space.

Fox and Scorpion left me to see to the Elders. Alphas. All observing my entrance with glowing Shifter gazes. Surely they smelled Willow on me.

They watched me step up to the stones encircling the hearth where I descended to sit in the radiating fire's heat like all of the others.

Tornado nodded. "Congratulations. The Elders accept your replacing Falcon. We wish there was better news for him. But his cancer is stage four."

What? Cancer? Only the watchful gazes in the room kept me from falling over.

Tornado blinked. "He hadn't told you?"

I tried to choke down a gulp of air. Anything to settle my sinking gut. "No." But I needed to run from the lodge. Search for my sire. A strong leader. One who didn't deserve to die being eaten alive from the inside out. Why couldn't Shifter bodies fight off that vicious assassin? For some reason, our new alien genes hadn't managed to prevent the ugly process of our cells suddenly deciding not to play nice with each other.

"Falcon has chosen a worthy successor," Tornado said.

Easy to bark when a warrior has his knees cut out from beneath him. What am I doing sitting here inside this Gods-be-damned lodge when my sire needs me?

"I will speak plainly then." Tornado's glowing gaze panned the circle of eyes watching him from where firelight struggled to drive back shadow beyond the hearth's flames.

Anchoring me to this fucking joke of a meeting. Willow's gone. And I dare not leave to spend the last days of my sire's life with him.

Tornado's words drew me back from my introspection. "The Elders have decided to work with the Rites-of-the-Goddess order to send a Shifter and an Enforcer on a secret mission. The team will board an alien spacecraft and learn what they can about the extraterrestrials."

Suicide. Better still Willow doesn't wear Wolf's mark. A suicide mission would be the final straw for me to pull.

  Everyone sat staring at Tornado.

"Have the mates been selected?" Eclipse asked the million-dollar question.

Tornado nodded where he casually leaned upon one palm.

Obviously waiting for anyone to challenge him. Yet, in his demeanor, all was decided. Who then?

  We waited.

Tornado blinked solemnly at the hearth's dancing flames. "My successor has been chosen."

"Jackal?" Eclipse gasped. "He isn't the type to lead his mate into danger. Nor risk orphaning his three children."

"No." Tornado's unyielding stare circled the circle of alphas again, daring the Shifters encircling the hearth's illuminating glow to argue. "Demon."

Yellow Shifter gazes flicked back and forth between now-reddened heat signatures of the sitting forms of the clan heads.

Reddening from their irritation with the choice of Shifter to carry out a plan we most likely only got one shot at. Because everyone considered Demon foolhardy. A roamer. He'd simply disappeared the summer Jackal mated. Supposedly following tail. The tail of that Enforcer. The Cougar.

"He has mated the Enforcer, Akita. Both volunteered to go on the mission." Tornado's indomitable mask never flinched.

As if he understand the sacrifice of his seed is for the greater good of the planet. For humanity. Or expecting us to argue about Demon's ability to carry through with the plan.

Tornado's breath knifed. "And now that I've heard of this plan, I think it suits Demon. He always had a wild streak. One that kept him dreaming of distant places. And Akita is the type of female who will keep him focused. Leash his Wolf. So now, I will tell you about this ridiculous plan to reaffirm what we think we know of the extraterrestrial's intentions here on our world."

Father's cancer, a suicide mission, and Willow's disappearance. I'm going to need a vacation after this trip to be unknowingly instated Bitterroot clan head by the Elders. Hell. Would my sire even be alive when I return home? And Wi
llow, my Willow, shit, I have to find her, or my future will be awfully grim after losing my sire.

"Now, for the rest of the news," Tornado continued. "There's reason to believe types of matings result in certain types of offspring. Lucius has come from the Minnesota Territory to gather data for his sire, Augustus. Each mated couple or previously-mated widower will be interviewed privately before leaving the gathering. Lucius will note the details of the children produced by these mating arrangements and report the data to his sire. I think beginning with Elders is best."

The talking droned on. Leaving my thoughts to haunt me with thoughts of the wasting side of cancer. What had taken place since I left my sire? Had he suddenly taken a turn for the worse and simply passed in my absence?

My heart sank like a free-falling phantom.

Leaving a disturbing emptiness in its wake.

A chill tickled across my skin.

"That's it for now. Let's head out to the bonfire and dance with our mates," Tornado said.

Good. Leave me with the fact my sire's dying, maybe dead, and slap my face with yet another fact that Willow is endangered because of me.

The alphas rose and worked their way toward the doorway.

I followed suit and entered the mix of Shifters heading toward the party atmosphere looming in moonlight beyond the door.

Trying to appear strong. Alphas should. Shouldn't they?

A warm palm draped my shoulder from behind.

Probably someone who wants to add his condolences about my sire's condition. Better get this over with. I stopped and turned.

To stare into the haunting sky-blue color of Lucius's eyes. He seemed to choke down a smile the way the corner of his mouth curled into his cheek. "Lucius." I nodded.

The other alphas continued out the doorway to leave us behind.

"We should finish here quickly." His hand fell away from my shoulder.

Leaving my flesh kissed by a cooler draft. Speed. What does he care about the length of time we spend here?

"My mate is a healer." His smile died with seriousness. "She can heal your sire with a touch."

Did he say what I think he said? I nodded.
