“Are you going to tell me?”

If I did, would this stop? “No.”

His grin is instant. “Have it your way.” I’m waiting to be spanked or something but instead he drops feather-like kisses along my jawline, he doesn’t close his eyes and neither do I, as he continues his assault on my heart. Each kiss brings him closer to my lips. His erection sits at my opening, but he hasn’t pushed it in.

“What about now?” He speaks each word as his lips brush mine.

“No.” My voice is weaker this time, if I was standing I’m sure my legs would have given out. He’s divine and he knows it. His hands slide down my legs, they consume me, burn me. I’ve never wanted anyone so bad. He returns to kissing me, this time his focus is on my neck, each kiss has me craning my head back to give him access.

  “What about now?”

It takes me a moment to answer, my body was enjoying this too much.

  “No.”

  DAMIEN

I don’t think she had any idea of what her words meant to me. The money wasn’t for her; it was for someone else. I was curious who the person was, but honestly, I didn’t care. This time I wanted to take her slowly, enjoy each part of her. What started out as a question, didn’t matter now. She could keep saying no, I hoped she did. I didn’t want this to stop. Her smell was intoxicating and I lick it from her neck, she hisses in pleasure and I do it again. I’m struggling, holding back, my cock twitches at her opening and she unknowing spreads her legs a bit further. I can’t hold on. I push my cock in and watch her gasp.

“Are you going to tell me now?” I ask and hold myself over her. Green eyes gaze up at me.

“If I say no, are you going to fuck me?”

My cock twitched inside her. Jesus. I don’t hold back and bury myself in her, she whimpers her pleasure and I keep the rhythm moving in and out of her. I’m watching her face and it’s fucking beautiful.

Her head turns and her eyes clash with mine. “I want to watch you.” I say wanting her to keep staring at me. She was perfect. This was perfect.

I push deeper and she spreads her legs wider, giving me full access to her. I keep moving faster, but I’m watching her and she’s beautiful. So fucking beautiful. When she reaches her climax and crashes right in front of me, I can’t hold back but empty myself inside her.

“What about now?” I’m breathless as I speak.

“Damien?” Her voice is tinged with a pleading note, and I want to tell her it’s fine but some primal part of me, wants to know who’s taking money from my wife.

“We are married now, you have to tell me.”

She pushes her head back into the pillow and her pulse spikes in her neck.

“This isn’t real?” Now I was wondering who she was trying to convince, me or her.

“But it could be.” I was going out on a limb here, fuck that, I was going out on the edge of a three hundred story building on a windy day.

“You’re serious?” She wasn’t laughing at me, so that alone I would take as a good sign.

“Look at us Karen, we work well together and we are already married so why not try this for real?”

Her vision blurs and she pushes my shoulder, trying to wriggle out from underneath me, but I capture her hands in mine.

“You’re not running. Not this time. I let you get away once but I won’t again.” My heart pounds at the confession and she freezes under me.

  “Okay.”

I’m not sure I heard her correctly. “Okay as in, you want to try this marriage for real?”

She nods and the smile that breaks out across her face mirrors mine.

My chest tightens as I look down at her. Touching my lips against hers I want to tell her I love her but I know it’s too soon. My father knew what he was doing all along. How he knew, I wasn’t sure. But he had known how I felt about her.

Now I could really get to know my wife. Every, single, part of her.

  3 Months Later

The crowd moves around me and I’m relaxed as I watch Damien move from one person to the next, his eyes always finding mine, sending my stomach into a twist and my heart skyrocketing. He still has that effect on me, and I hope it never wears off.

“Are you enjoying the party?” Marcus asks. I immediately analyze the clear liquid in his glass and regret it when he raises it to my nose.

“Don’t worry sis, it’s lemonade.” He pulls me in and kisses me on the forehead, and I relax once again. Having Marcus out of rehab and working for Damien makes Damien shine even brighter in my eyes.

He has done so much for me, for my family, and I will always be grateful. I can’t stop the smile that grows across my face as he walks through the crowd; they part for him until he reaches me. His black suit sits on his wide shoulders and showcases his large frame. It’s hard staying here when all I want is us up in the penthouse, but it’s his father’s ninety-first birthday party and after meeting his dad, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. He’s a sweet man that holds a twinkle in his eye whenever he speaks.

“You look stunning.” Damien takes my hand in his and brings it up to my lips.

“Married people aren’t meant to act like this,” Marcus’s statement is delivered with a smirk.

“Like what?” I ask even though I know what he means, but our marriage is very different. Three months is a short time but with Damien it feels so right, like in his arms is where I belong.

“You now.” He glances at our joined hands. “All loved up.”

  I laugh. “Well we are.”

Damien squeezes my hand tighter. “I’m stealing your sister for a dance,” he says to Marcus before leading me out onto the dancefloor.

“Did I tell you, you look stunning?”

My stomach squeezes. “You did.” I feel stunning in my black full length sequin dress that touched the floor and fitted me like a glove. Damien rests his large hands on my waist and I can feel the heat through the dress. When he pulls me closer, my head rests against his chest, his chin on the crown of my head.

“I love you,” I mumble. I knew I would never get used to saying that.

“I love you too.” He kisses the top of my head and I smile into his chest.

So much has changed, and every single one is for the better. I carried so much on my shoulders that I wasn’t aware how it was really affecting me. It wasn’t until each burden was lifted from me that I started to feel lighter. What helped the most was telling Damien the real story of Paul and I. He tried to force himself on me but I got away, that’s why he spread the lies about me sleeping with him. That night was such a long time ago, but all the what if’s and regrets had haunted me until now.

Now, I was with the man I love, with no secrets. My brother was home, my parents happy and things felt right with Damien.

“Are you sleepy?” he asks, that was his cue for sex, and I lean out and smile up into his handsome face.

  “It’s your father’s birthday. We can’t leave.”

“If my wife was tired, we could.” He grins now and my heart stalls before kicking back up.

“It’s eight thirty, so just a few more hours.”

Damien pulls me back into his chest. “Fine. Just a few more hours.” His grumble has me smiling. I inhale the scent that is so unique to Damien Black and my core tightens. Only a few more hours, I tell myself and enjoy dancing with my husband.

I feel like I belong in his arms. This moment is perfect, and I had no doubt we will make hundreds more perfect moments.

  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Enjoy this book? You can make a big difference

Reviews are the most powerful tools in my arsenal when it comes to getting attention for my books. Much as I’d like to, I don’t have the financial muscle of a New York publisher.

  (Not yet, anyway.)

But I do have something much more powerful and effective than that, and it’s something that those publishers would kill to get their hands on.

A committed and loyal bunch of readers.

Honest reviews of my book help bring them to the attention of other readers.

So if you’ve enjoyed this book I would be very grateful if you could spend just five minutes leaving a review.

  Thank you very much!
